I don't have a lot to say about Panera generally. They're all usually a four or so -- good food, adequate atmosphere, typically clean. All of these attributes were true of this location as well, but our service was a little iffy. My husband requested cups for water and we filled them with water, but realized later (upon looking at the receipt) that we were charged for 2 sodas. To make matters worse, my parents were visiting from out of town and they were charged for a coffee they didn't order. I got the half sandwich and cup of soup option. Both were good, but the half sandwich was the smallest half sandwich I have ever seen. In fact, it was about three-quarters of the size of my mom's half sandwich. I didn't feel like complaining about my sandwich not being of adequate size, but it wasn't quite right. I felt like I got a little end piece that they were trying to use up. So, yeah, it was fine, but not my best ever Panera experience. read more

I stopped in to get a frozen caramel mocha. That.Is.It. Usually when I get a drink the cashier just makes it for me and I am on my merry way. Not this time. First of all, the person who took my order did not look at me and at first it seemed like she didn't know what it was that I was ordering. She did not thank me or give any kind of interaction other than what was necessary to take my money. A minute after I order I heard a frozen drink being made, but I could not assume it was mine. I stand around waiting with a crowd of other unhappy looking customers waiting for their food. People are bumping into each other as they come by to look for their food or try to fill their coffee. As staff are moving bags of food from the counter to the cubbies where people who pre-ordered can pick up, they do not call out any names. This causes more mass chaos as hungry customers approach to see if they are the lucky ones. After a 13 minute wait I hear, "Frozen mocha" and see a drink being placed on the counter. I go for the drink but want to be sure it is what I ordered so I ask: "Is this a CARAMEL mocha?" "HUH?!" "I ordered a caramel mocha. Is this just a mocha?" She picks up the drink and says, "That's what's on the top!" (referring to the drizzle) "I see, but is that what is INSIDE?" "HUH?!" "Is there caramel AND mocha INSIDE the drink?" She cocks her head, raises her brows, and bulges her eyes, "IT IS!" Fine. I take the drink and walk out. It is melted. Apparently that drink that was made over 10 minutes ago WAS mine. You wont see me there again. read more

Only two stars because we love Panera, but this location has extremely poor service. We've dined in and attempted carry out. Our dine in experience was just horrible. The cashier had a poor attitude. When asked about one of the menu options, she lacked on providing the proper information. Our food took a little longer than usual. Our carry out experience was even worse. We placed an order to this location since we live within the downtown area. When we went to pick it up, they said they were closed and that I would be refunded my money. I had placed my order before you closing time, which is at 7pm and not 8pm which what is listed on Yelp. I believe that if I had ordered my food prior to your close time, you should still provide the service. read more

This location is convenient, but the service here is pretty spotty. I've been multiple times and it is always hit or miss from the workers and their performance, though I will admit that my food orders are always correct and I've never had a problem with that. Anyway, great spot to study, grab a bite to eat and their wifi is pretty decent as well. read more

I give 5 stars because my experience was beyond great. Yes I was there in the middle of the afternoon after the lunch rush. The staff were friendly and all working very hard. The employee suggested the chicken avocado BLT which was delicious. Bread was fresh, the lettuce tomato and avocado was extremely fresh. Chicken could have been more seasoned however that's not allowed in public restaurants because of the public's many health issues. The restaurant itself was very clean considering the construction going on next door to them. I had a wonderful healthy lunch for under $10. Also it was such a hot day and the mall was not very cool but this restaurant was very cool. The owner obviously cares about the comfort of his customers and employees. I will return. read more

I'm torn between the 5-star effort of the employees and the 1-star results that I received. Tried their Rapid Pick-Up for the first time today at lunch (it's their online order and pick up in the store feature). I'm pretty excited at this point: I can ask for extra lettuce on my salad without the risk of the employee behind the counter giving me a dirty look (like an extra handful of chopped romaine is coming out of his paycheck). Panera also tells me when it will be ready to pick up, so I can immediately skip to the head of the line when I get there. Today I ordered at 12:40 and they gave me a 1:10 pick up time. So far, everything is Awesome! ...or not awesome. I get there at 1:07 and there are at least 50 hungry people waiting in the pick up area for their food. I squeeze my way through the crowd to find that my food isn't ready. And my name isn't one of the 20+ names on the Up Next board. The employee I track down is very helpful in expediting my order but...the food arrives 20 minutes late, there is no butter for the baguette, no extra lettuce in the salad, no extra tomatoes, and no extra bacon (paid an extra $1 for this nonexistent bacon). Most of the Panera employees I could see were hurrying to manage the lunchtime chaos. So "A" for effort. "F" for results. I'll average it and give you a "C" for today, Panera. read more

Southport rd indianapolis Panera needs attention to management issues. Tried to order lunch for 14 people today. No broccoli cheddar soup, no tuna, no white American cheese and no chips. Doordash also delivered to wrong place and when I called the store the manager basically said it's not their problem! We have ordered from them before and have always had problems. Last chance today, see they don't care about the customer read more

This was a good place to sit and have dinner with me an my friends the other night. The service was exceptionally fast and high quality. The workers called us to get our orders by our names.this was my first experience at Panera, and I would go back in a heartbeat. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes bagels or someone who loves different types of soups. read more

This Panera is a hot spot for downtown employees. I sincerely recommend ordering ahead if you're in the mood for a Pick 2 between noon and 1 Monday through Friday. The team does the best they can to get orders ready in a timely fashion, but don't expect and in-and-out experience, especially if there's a conference in town. Outside of the lunch rush, it's service as usual. Mornings are typically a breeze. Friendly staff. read more

Among the worst Panera's I've been to. They repeatedly screw up my orders, but are quick to apologize and fix the situation. This place is just too busy for their own good. Too many other options out there, so I'd recommend going somewhere else. read more

Everything looks delicious on the website..but not so much in real life. When I walked in, the staff looked frantic and ready to go home. It was ten minutes to closing, and as I passed one of the Panera associates I overheard her say to another associate, "We bout to close..." Then, another associate yelled out- "That's the last order!" Which was fine for me, however I wondered if they absolutely had to close at 7pm on one of the busiest nights of the winter season... College football brings out a different sort of crowd- young, old, crazy, and hangry. As I stood making my order I noticed them turn away at least ten people. With that, Donna was outstanding with her service! I don't know your life, Panera. I do know that possibly not offering overtime would really suck especially for busy nights like that....buuuuuut, moving on (cuz IDK!!!!) Ordering was easy, looking at the total on the register was not. $19 for pasta and a half salad. GIRRRRL I could have bought so much taco meat with $19! Anyway, I did enjoy the flavorful juice beverages offered to the right of the counter. Lots of tea and things, to help you have an amazing day. I didn't, however, enjoy anything about that watered down scary chicken on top, alfredo tortellini. I love food, can't you tell! And, it saddens me when I waltz up in a place (excited) only to be handed something from my 6th grade cafeteria nightmares. Now, I will say I've had soup here and its really good. It's just something about that pasta and watery alfredo sauce with chicken shreds on top that doesn't do it for me. I know that Panera believes in clean eating, and I think we all could use better food ingredients so that's cool. The entire meal would have been a lot better with more robust flavors, herbs, spices going on fused with a bit more TLC. Don't believe the hype about all the food choices...You could make something a little bit better, fresher, faster at home. This place is hit or miss! read more

Always was a Panera fan but last few times their portions are getting skimpier while their prices are not. This applies to all Panera locations that I've been to in my travels. Seems to be a corporate edict to cut down portions to save money. Just ordered a Chicken BBQ sandwich with literally one and a half very small pieces of chicken. Not the first time. Was told the portion is 'weighed' and was supposed to be 1 oz - seriously. Sorry Panera my last time patronizing your restaurants. I will say the staff however were very nice at this location. read more

Every single time I go through Traders Pointe Panera I'm never given the correct food, dressing for salad or none, chip with a salad instead of a baguette need I go on. Management doesn't care, workers don't care. That place is as useless as a turd on a string! Not to mention it's the dirtiest Panera ever. Yuck!!!!! read more

I had the mini cheese biscuits on an early Sat. morning. The good thing about this place is, it's the only store open super early in the area. The mini biscuits were fresh, although I wish they would of offered to toast them. They were also super cheap, $2 for 2/3 mini biscuits. Good place to stop in to get a bite and hot drink. read more

Average Panera experience. A little crazy when I tried to order--there were lots of slow people ahead of me who didn't know what they wanted but just stood in front of the cash register staring at the menu. Cashier didn't seem to care and I wasn't in a hurry, but if I was, I would have been a little irked. Got the thai chicken salad which came with an apple. Very spicy dressing but nice and fresh. read more

Great location in downtown Indy. Service was good, bagels were fresh, and coffee was hot. I have no complaints.

Go to this location for quick and polite service. I am not a huge fan of the Panera chain. The food taste and size is only ok for the price. You can get a lot better meals downtown in the same $10 - $12 price range. But if you want a place that you can get to from the indoor tunnels and be in and out quickly, this is a good option. I also love that you can add on a pastry to a meal for $0.99! read more

Standard Panera. However the service was exceptionally quick. Nice ambiance. Enough seating. Overall a delightful experience.

Don't get me wrong, this store clearly gets hit hard during lunch rush. The lines are out the front door every single day. Which is why, when we go, try to get there around 11:30 which means we get there before it hits. But that doesn't mean we're safe. Every time, between our two meals, at least one thing is wrong. Last time, I didn't have any croutons. Time before that, they forgot to remove onions. Etc etc. And this is before the line really starts backing up. It's always something small that's wrong that just bums us out, but we always come back. The best part of this store is absolutely the staff. They go out of their way to make your meal right and they'll go out of their way to do it. One time the soda machine was out of Pepsi, which we mentioned in passing to one of the guys handing out food. He came to our table five minutes later with a can of Pepsi, telling us the machine had been having problems. The staff is a five, but the service is a two. read more

If you're here with USA volleyball this week - avoid!avoid!avoid! They are not prepared for the large numbers and are not in any hurry to correct their inadequacies. We just waited 55 minutes for our 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich, soup, and 1/2 chicken sandwich... went to ask about our order to be told that it wasn't even in their system.... then watched them slowly prepare it/warm it up bc it had been sitting there with zero apologies or urgency. Love Panera, but this one is a HUGE disappointment. read more

It's Panera - soups, salads, sandwiches, baked goods, etc. You know the drill. Normally, I wouldn't be inclined to leave a review at a chain such as this, but I feel I need to because their rapid pick-up is a thing of beauty! I've probably used their online ordering portal a half dozen times now, and each time my order has been waiting for me at the kiosk in the store at the designated time. Even more importantly, the order has been correct! This is AMAZING during the lunch rush, as their lines get long and the counter service is notoriously slow. Plus, if you join MyPanera (their rewards programs) you get emails about deals - there's a $2 off a You Pick Two email that I get monthly, if not more often. Definitely do not recommend for dine in, as it's taken over 20 minutes waiting at the counter to get my food during lunch, but for grab and go downtown, this is your place! read more

Panera is panera is panera. The tomato soup is my favorite and while it lasts during the summer, the strawberry salad is fantastic. Every restaurant should adopt putting calories on the menu, it certainly makes a difference sometimes when deciding on what to get. For breakfast, the cinnamon crunch bagel with cream cheese cannot be beat. I also recommend the beacon egg and cheese on an asiago cheese bagel. read more

When I checked in to order, the cashier was pretty unfriendly. She did ask my choice of bread or if you wanted to pastry for $99. She almost forgot to ask what side I wanted. She did not give me the buzzer for when my food was ready. Also, a little bit disappointed because the to go portions are smaller than the dine in portions. My sandwich did not have the same bread that I asked for.. I've experience better at other Panera locations. read more

I found this location while staying in a hotel about five minutes away. We walked in and were greeted and informed that they could take our order whenever we were ready. I ordered the egg white, turkey sausage and cheese sandwich which also came with spinach and tomato. I was able to substitute roasted tomato for the regular slice at no extra charge. I also ordered a caramel latte. The latte was ready within minutes and very good; however I believe they missed my sandwich order as I began to notice several people who had ordered after me being served their orders. I went to check on my food and it appeared that they had just begun cooking it and the guy behind the counter apologized for my wait but instead of taking responsibility for missing my order, he stayed that it was taking a while for the egg to cook -__- I would have appreciated the truth a lot better. Other than that, everything was fine. The venue was large and clean. Most staff members were nice and the food was definitely up to par read more

Very good bagels and bread. The menu is interesting and has some savory combinations. I find the food a little hit or miss. However, they make some killer salads. The outside seating is great for people watching. read more

Panera is one of my favorite chain restaurants! They are pretty consistent and never disappoint. This location is perfect and conveniently attached to the Circle Centre Mall and hotels. Other than Paradise Cafe, there aren't many options when it comes to the deli/soup type spots downtown. So, will it be busy? Of course. Especially when you go in before work or during lunch. For the best experience, I would recommend weeknights or Sundays. Favorite menu items: - Mac & Cheese - Chicken Cobb and Avocado Salad - Tomato Soup (great hangover cure) - Cinnamon Crunch Bagel - Mango smoothie read more

Get ready for confusion and delay if there's any kind of line. I've learned that Indiana does not handle any aspect of "busy" very well at all. Customers aren't sure what they want or even why they're there. Staff is trying their best just to hang on for the ride. Mistakes abound. Hilarity ensues. Some people take it well, some freak out, sooo fun to watch. Yes they did screw my order up, yes they were quick to correct it for me.... so I can back up the other Yelpers who had that experience here. What more can you ask for really. Pobody's nerfect. read more

Great hazelnut coffee, and the downtown location has kiosks so you don't have to wait in line, the rapid pick up is efficient but not always correct. This is a great location. Probably one of the busiest Panera's I've ever seen. The line was out of the door. But despite how busy it was from a group of some conventioneers, the line moved pretty fast. The staff were super pleasant despite being so overwhelmed. BY far the best Panera I've been to. I like that there are kiosks to help with long lines during the lunch rush and I love that at this location they often bring your food to you. There are two guys that man the dining room, clear tables, bring food, and clean tables. Over the past ten years, every single Panera I've been to from here to Atlanta has always had dirty tables and dirty floors, and not a single person wiping off tables. Not the story here. The two guys who man the dining room are super friendly and seem to really love their jobs which is so refreshing. I was in and out in no time and the food was great. Hot soup on a cold day hit the spot. read more

I rarely go to a Panera -- this place reminds me why. 30 minutes waiting for an overpriced Caesar salad. It's a fucking salad

Best salad I've ever had at Panera in 3 states! A lot of good stuff in the arugula blend, great size. Thanks Indianapolis!

Ordered delivery for an important business meeting for today last week over the phone. the order never came, then when I called to see if they were on there way or what was going on they said they never received the order. Thanx for ruining my day Panera bread. You guys have one job and can't even do it! I really hope you didn't charge the card I gave you over the phone too or I'm really gonna be upset. read more

I've only been to this location a few times and every time I go back I am reminded of why I don't come back: their customer service is awful. The workers at this location have a bad attitude from some of them not looking at you while you talk to them so it seems like they're not listening or just taking a longer time than normal to do simple tasks like bagging a pastry to go. I do have to say the cashier today was nice and welcoming though. Also, since I haven't been back in a while I noticed the plastic cup lids are new, but cheaply made and half of them don't stay on. I like Panera's food but not this location's customer service. read more
