I understand the morning rush; it's always crazy. I walked into the store after placing an online order for my 'Club' drink: a hazelnut light roast coffee. After picking up my coffee, I noticed there was no almond milk. I approached the counter to ask for some, and the employee literally rolled her eyes and walked away. Within ten seconds, she came back with the almond milk container. There was no reason to give me an attitude just for asking for milk that is normally available. This Panera Bread was honestly really disappointing. The only good thing was the soda fountain -- lots of options and everything tasted fresh. Other than that, the experience was pretty mediocre. The service was mid at best. Employees didn't seem very attentive, and the whole place felt unorganized. What really ruined it for me though was the cleanliness. The restaurant did not look clean, and I even found dead roaches, which is completely unacceptable for a place serving food. Overall, this location feels very low quality compared to other Panera Breads. I wouldn't recommend it unless they seriously improve the cleanliness and service. read more

I have been to this location at Broadway Mall a gazillion times. I studied here throughout college and also when I needed to take my boards. This was my go-to place! It's your run of the mill mediocre chain food. You know exactly what you are getting when you come to Panera. It's never fantastic lol but it's quick and somewhat healthy depending on what you get. Sometimes my chicken will still be frozen in my salads and sometimes I will get that occasional rotten piece of lettuce. Side note- kind of sad to see Broadway mall empty out like this. Very disappointed I used to like this place but the last 2 times I have been to this store it has been very dirty. Dishes were piled up to the point that you couldn't reach the top, the garbage was fulled and the tables were all dirty. I heard several complains about the restroom being dirty too while I was waiting for my food. i know this mall will be closing soon but this is unacceptable I will not be going to Panera anytime soon after what I saw. read more

Located at one of the entrances of the mall and it has its own entrance as well to the parking lot. It's a standard Panera which is a good thing. They have IPAD kiosks that you can order from or you can order from the folks manning the register and counter. Plenty of pastries. I usually get the soup and sandwich combo. Plenty of sandwich and soup options. Once you pay, you can grab a seat. There are tables and booths. Plenty of seating but it can get busy here too. There are bathrooms in the back as well. This is a nice, clean, no fuss Panera restaurant located at the east entrance to the Broadway Mall in Hicksville. Sunday at 2 pm: Manager in Training Nick ( orange shirt) was cleaning the front windows and opened the door welcoming us. Tifany was the nice and patient young lady who gave us the great combo mix and match options and took our order. The food came out quickly and it was hot. The soups were delicious especially the new Thai Chicken. They nailed it as far as ingredients popping together for a great soup. The accompanying French baguette was tasty, fresh and a nice sized piece. The warm Baja bowl with quinoa, veggies, feta cheese and this killer Salsa Verde dressing was really good. The bbq chicken sandwich had a nice portion of white meat and my mother especially enjoyed the grilled and buttered toast it came on. There are 4 self service stations to place orders as you walk in from the mall. You pick up the order when notified with the buzzer when ready. The coffee station and the soda area are all self serve and very convenient. The three ladies working that pick up station prepping the food were happy, fun and just so nice. I asked for extra Salsa Verde dressing for my bowl and they immediately got me a large container. Our table was cleared in a matter of seconds by Nick who was wiping down the area. The restrooms were immaculate and stocked. There was a sweet elderly couple to our right enjoying their soups and then their coffees and fresh cookies. 3 young ladies were to our left loving on their fresh flatbread as they chatted. Love Panera Bread's ever changing breakfast, lunch and dinner menus and combos which allowed us to enjoy 2 items each for under $11 per person. There is loads of mall parking. Would give it 0 stars if there was an option for it. Bought food here off my phone on the kiosk and didn't receive it for a full 30 minutes. Talked to the manager about it and the short stubby manager lady said "there is nothing i can do about a fictitious order." She needs to fix her attitude and btw I was charged for the meal. 15 minutes later she finally finds my order under a different name. Haven't been to a Panera in a while and needed a quick lunch in the neighborhood. Spacious inside and not much of a line on a Saturday morning. Interesting flavors available for the bread - opted for the French Toast Bagel with butter ($1.39), Chocolate Chip Muffie, and a medium coffee ($2.19). Prices are obviously great; the same thing would probably run you double in the city. Coffee is self-serve in the middle of floor - some flavored options like hazelnut, a medium bodied blend that had a decent strength. Food comes out in a few minutes; bagel is lightly toasted and served with a couple of butter packets. The french toast flavor is mild and the butter isn't all that easy to spread. Muffie was better - a moist slice of muffin with a few chocolate chips sprinkled inside. Overall okay meal that got me through the morning. Would rank the breakfast here about the same as a place like Dunkin' Donuts. Next time would stick to the lunch bread bowls. read more

Located inside Broadway Mall, this Panera has plenty of parking available..and plenty of seating inside as well. During lunch hours, they seem to be always busy, with at least a 10min wait on line. Nevertheless, the staff seem to be pretty organized and gets the food out in an efficient manner. I always enjoyed Panera's soups..Especially their Broccoli & Cheddar in a bread bowl. Their Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice is also pretty tasty. I don't like their French Onion.. Extremely salty and greasy. Recently, I did notice that a lot of their soups tend to be quite salty. my wife and I usually like eating at Panara , but tonight we were very disapointed in what we had . We had 2 special meals , I had Napa almond chicken with wild rice chicken soup , the half sandwitch was messy to eat and not very good and the soup did not taste like chicken and was very salty . My wife had half a grilled cheese that she said was velvita and not melted at all , they were out of tomato soup so she settled for chicken . Both of our soups were served luke warm. Ordering was ok and food was slow to come out even though the place was almost empty . We hope this was just a bad night or this Panara is going downhill . I visit Panera Breads around NY at least once or twice a month, and I've visited this location about 4 times in the last 6 months. LIKE SOME OF THE REVIEWS BELOW - you actually will get sick here. Call 311 and complain. 3/4 times I've gotten extremely sick and was left bed ridden with an upset stomach. I never made the connection until this weekend, as I had this Friday night and haven't been able to move Since. I absolutely love the spinach and bacon egg souffle that they make at Panera. All of them are delicious, but the spinach and bacon is definitely my favorite. I am not certain as to why Panera is listed as closed on Saturday on Yelp, but I can assure you that it was open when I stopped in a little before 9am this morning. I also got a caramel latte and it was really enjoyable. Two thumbs up :) especially because of the Island Harvest Donation Box at the front door. It was thick and creamy could have had more clams (no shocker there) baked goods: cinnamon roll: large and flat! ate it while walking around the mall it was tender and delicious. double chocolate chocolate chip cookie: this was also big and had the perfect balance between slight crunchiness and chew cherry danish: at least I think it was, tasty with cherry pie like filling with flaky pasty around it carrot cake muffin: filled with raisons and walnuts topped with cream cheese frosting...moist, filling, everything I wanted from a carrot cake muffin. Ok so I haven't had one bad bakery item here so far as you can tell haha. I also love their iced green tea, it's slighty sweet, ice cold and refreshing! When I opened it up found a tiny flatbread, smaller than my hand and a sordid single tomato and 2 pieces of melted mozarella with some arugala haphazardly thrown on top as if that solved the problem.... extremely disappointed. I had the Steak & White Cheddar Panini and it was good (steak not dry, good bread ) You have a choice of side item like kettle chips , french bread or apple.
