Outlets all over the place and comfy chairs. Seriously folks, I hate chains, but this place is alright. 4/5 because groups of abnoxious teenagers or chatty people not ordering anything come in and abuse the place, but I guess I do the same so I can't complain too much. I LOVE Panera bread. I honestly go everyday to the one by my job in Long Island. HOWEVER this location treats you like you're bothering them. Last week I drove an extra 15 minutes to get to this location (vs. Rego park because I didn't want the mall traffic) at around 8:50p and they told me they didn't have anything but soup. You close at 10p and Panera BREAD didn't have anything but soup. Are you KIDDING me. If you want to go home early, talk to your managers!! It's not like you're making a steak dish, you're putting a sandwich together. Your food is great quality that's why I don't mind spending the extra money, but don't treat me like I'm bothering you when I'm asking you to give me something that's on your menu. If I walked in at 9:59p I get why you could be frustrated, but OVER an hr before closing??Andddd you don't have food buy microwaveable soup?!?! Not cool. Can't believe a year makes such a difference. As they say Something is Rotten in Denmark. One bad meal and it can happen. Even given benefit of doubt a second? By the third they were out in my book. Tastless, undercooked and produce that is overly mature. Getting a pastry, coffee, and some soup or chilli one thing but rest of menu best put to rest. Panera is so E'fen expensive and skimp on how much they put in there sandwich. I bought the two Turkey Cranberry on Whole wheat Flat bread which had about 3 leaves of Spinach looks nothing like the photo on the website and a few pieces of Turkey a hint of Cranberry taste and two Creamy Tomato soup of which also are not the same size that you would get when ordering out (less quantity) and almost paid nearly $40. Its as if I'm on a diet order for weight loss. I want what I paid for. Who does Panera think they are charging such high prices in a time of messed up economy. I am the type of person that will pay for something that is worth its value I am not a cheap person when dining out. Worst experience of my life. I entered panera and this women working on Friday at the 10 am shift with glasses was the rudest person I've ever seen. I was looking at the billboard to see what id like to order and she kept shaking a nodding her head at me. She kept whispering to the other women at the cashier in which made me uncomfortable. 4 times she asked me if I'm ready to order. Obviously I wasn't ready to order if I didn't come on the line. Dropped in about a week ago for a cup of soup. When I was handed my plate with my cup of soup and a plain baguette, the first thing I noticed was that the plate was visibly dirty. I thought to myself, "How could this girl hand me my food on a plate that is dirty?" Then I looked closer. There was a mouse dropping on my plate. I immediately turned back to the counter and asked to speak to a manager. He came and I showed him the plate. He apologized and quickly took my plate into the kitchen, saying he would replace it before I could tell him that I just wanted a refund. I asked one of the employees to tell him not to bother replacing it, that I would not eat any food out of a place with mouse droppings on the plate. He went and got the manager. When I asked for my refund and explained that I could not eat after seeing a mouse dropping on my plate, the manager immediately started telling me that it was not a mouse dropping, that it was from the bread. A black, oblong object coming from a piece of a plain white baguette? I don't think so. I grew up in NYC and I know mouse droppings when I see them. (Also, the closest thing to that shape on any of their breads is caraway seeds, but it was definitely not a caraway or a fennel seed.) I was not there to create a scene; all I wanted was my money back so I could go somewhere else to eat. I thought it was hilarious that when I first showed the plate to him, he immediately took it back and rushed it into the kitchen then once it was gone, he decided to deny that it was indeed a mouse dropping. I like this place only thing not many flavors on ice coffee . the ice coffee is horrible and its dirty.

In town for business, and always enjoy Panera. Today is the exception. My server had no interest in helping me and was very robotic. My order was specific to a point, but nothing a 2 year old could not handle. A word of advice, ask them to repeat your order back to you and try not to laugh when they give you a blank stare. read more

I come to this location often and it is by far one of the best panera bread locations I have been to. The people are very friendly. The service is great. Even when it's busy you won't wait a long time for your food to be served. You can eat and take your time without anyone bothering you or giving you the stare to leave. Good to know there is a place where you can eat good food with respectable employees. read more

I went into this Panera Bread a few weeks ago and waited a 1/2 hour for a bagel. The line was so long and there was only one person at the cash register and the person was so slow. This has been the worse Panera Bread I have ever been in then I went back 2 days later and I was ordering a salad as I placed my order with the manager someone interrupted (customer - out of the no where) and asked a question to the manager as he was placing my order the manager stopped to help this person. Besides that they hire kids and these kids come from a program the managers are no better I called the corporate office 3 times and tried to speak with a manger but mangers at the corporate do not want to speak with you I spoke with a woman Sheila today that noted everything but still would not let me speak with a supervisor. Shelia was very stubborn and would not let me speak with a manger/supervisor. When a manger phoned me back from the Long Island city store phone me back put me on hold and never picked the phone and he did not return my phone call. This is the worst Panera Bread they need a lot of training in this store and I hope that Corporate is reading this and does something about the people they hire especially the Managers at stores and the people in Corporate. They hire kids in programs that cannot speak well and do not understand basic common sense what people are saying and they are extremely slow and Corporate Office in Missouri is no BETTER. read more

I good amount of space but not enough natural lighting. I'm not the biggest fan of fast food but Panera tries to make it healthier than other fast food chains. The calorie count easily reveals that it is not very healthy though. On another note, their coffees are always delicious-- especially the hazelnut flavor. read more

I came here last week to use the free Wifi and fell in love. Its spacious and on the quiet side. The workers are cordial and the place is clean. My pet peeve is when the coffee gets burned and my latte defnitely tasted burnt. hence the one star taken off. Will be returning here again for sure read more

The staff has gotten really bad lately. I went in to get soup; there's one girl at the register who looks like she would rather be anywhere else helping a fellow coworker make a phone call. She could care less that I was waiting to order. He finally hangs up the phone, looks at me and proceeds to make small talk while pretending to order his food. Needless to say I left ... Uhmm.. Panera what happened to your delicious salads, sandwiches and breads. I came here just before the small evening rush. I decided on the half salad and half sandwich and both were pretty nasty/disgusting almost inedible. I got the cubano chicken and it did not taste fresh at all. The tomato dressing/ paste that they used tasted disgusting and the pickles did not help. It just made for a weird combo of flavors. The chicken cobb salad was just flavorless iceberg lettuce with bacon and eggs and hardly any blue cheese. I used to frequently go to the panera in long island and the salads and sandwiches have neverrrr tasted like that. Maybe, I will give it another try and order a soup because thats what it seems like most people were having. Also, I don't think everyone truly enjoyed their meal. I saw other diners smelling and inspecting their food as if there was something wrong with it. But everyone just seemed to go along and eat it. Ohh the food also came out right after I ordered and I was shocked because it meant they just reheated it. In LI you would have to wait sometime before your food would be finished. The food and quality is the same as other Panera franchises but I also have to remark about the service at this particular one. I'm a regular as I live in the neighborhood and do freelance work. It's a nice atmosphere to work and get free wifi. The people who work here though are hit or miss. I've had one particular gentleman - tall, skinny, hispanic looking, olive skin, curly hair with facial hair - at the register and he continually has a sour attitude. It's quite obvious he does not want to be working there. He can't even muster a smile much less be friendly. The other night I purchased my usual which came out $12.39. I gave $20.35 and was digging out the balance of four pennies when he handed me back $7.96. I stated to him I had the rest of the change. He stares at me blankly and says Oh don't worry about it! ??? huh?? So I say to him again, no I have the four pennies...I gave you change because I didn't want to get change back. He looked completely befuddled. I reiterate, I have the four pennies. Irritated now and obviously lacking any capability of doing the simplest math even a kid could do...he says to me, "What do YOU want?! Um. Give me a dollar and you take the four pennies! He never apologized for the mistake or for his surly attitude. Just threw me the dollar. I'm sorry your life is so horrible but please don't take it out on the paying customers! read more

I've been extremely disappointed in the AM service at the 35th Avenue Panera store in Long Island City lately. I've been a customer there for many years, and lately the AM staff (3 young women behind the counter) have been unresponsive and sometimes downright rude. On more than one occasion, they have been chatting behind the counter while I am waiting to be served. I actually had to call someone over to help this morning, stating that I had to get to work soon and could someone help me. The young woman who came over then had an annoyed attitude, and never said "sorry" or "thank you". I mentioned this to someone at work, who said that the same thing happened to her recently. In addition, it would have been refreshing to me to know that, at the least, my concerns were heard and the issue addressed at my Panera, but apparently, after hearing them from me, they were not considered important enough to address. If you would like some prompt, polite service, I suggest walking one block over to Starbuck's on 37th Street. read more
