Pick Two: Summer Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad (sans chicken) & Toasted Garden Caprese sandwich
    Denise C.

Meh. The girl at the counter is pleasant enough when taking our order but no one acknowledged our presence after that. My sandwich reminded me of that old Wendy's commercial where the contents of the sandwich was not visible between the bread. Fortunately they screwed up and gave me a whole sandwich so I took the contents from one half to make a suitable half sandwich. My husband ordered the new Italian sandwich wasn't impressed. I should've taken him down the road to POPs. The dining room and bathrooms were clean and the music was enjoyable.

    One noodle

Chicken noodle soup to go had one noodle in it. One noodle. And about one and a half pieces of chicken.

This was the pathetic Caprese sandwich I received. It didn't come close to resembling their advertised picture.

There is just no way to describe this sandwich except to show the pics. The caprese sandwich looked so good in their advertised picture and their description was wonderful. What I received was pathetic. It was just soggy lettuce with a tiny slice of tomato. No mozzarella or other described ingredients. This is the second time this has happened. I've now learned my lesson! On the upside, the broccoli cheddar soup was delicious.

I came out about 11:00 am on Feb. 14 after renewing my driver's license down the road at the DMV. At first glance it doesn't look like a typical Panera Bread. But I have a feeling that PB is taking a page out of Starbucks' play book by buying up run-down historical buildings in need of repairs. Then They restoring them to full glory and using them as commercial retail space. It's good for the community, its gets them good publicity and they get a great location for practically nothing. Win. Win. (Starbucks has done this all over the world. For example the historic Gilmore Gas Station in LA https://la.curbed.com/2015/3/20/9978380/starbucks-gilmore-gas-station-highland and the Bao An Street Mansion in Datong, Taiwan https://www.yelp.com/biz/Fhv1mRsKIPRa9sc73AqsXA?uid=FdPioXvctMq8lhBtd_NnTg&utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) ) This PB location is within the area of historic Canton which is listed on the National Historic Registry. (As you may know the NHR is pretty strict about what you can and can't do and they don't care if it will cost you an extra $10K to install the correct historically accurate whatever...you can sue all day long and you will lose...Case in point the Texaco gas station in historic Roswell, Ga...the short version...When Texaco wanted to put a store in historic Roswell-the city told them they had to build the station up to historical code. Texaco sued because this would increase their building cost. Of course they lost despite their army of $800 an hour fancy lawyers....I'm betting the money they spent in court was more than what they would of been spending on building the station to historical code.) Any way...back to Panera Bread...you can tell they put a lot of thought into how the building will fit into the whole infrastructure of the community. Everything from the lighting fixture to the distressed bricks used makes it look like it's always been a part of the neighborhood. Besides the beautiful building and its historical significance...there is the excellent service that I received from the lovely staff here. A special shout out to Yolanda for taking the time to explain various items on the lunch menu to what her favorite items are to offering daily specials. I really appreciate her patience and professionalism. I got their pick 2 special with a coffee. It consist of half a mediterranean veggie sandwich, french onion soup, an apple (cut up...I've been to many Paneras and this is the first time anyone has ever offered to cut up an apple for me. Thanks) I was offered a cookie for an additional 99 cents which I couldn't pass up. My food was bought out by a smiling blonde woman who thanked me for my order and wish me bon appetite! Then after I finished eating someone offered to take my empty plate & soup bowl. Wow...this too has never happened to me at a Panera Bread! Thanks guys for a great lunch...keep up the good work!

Extremely long wait at the drive-thru with no other cars in front of me. "Broken" blender so couldn't order a smoothie. Had to repeat my order at the window. Then found this sticker in my food half way through eating it. Do not recommend.

    Strawberry Banana Smoothie

ordered off doordash but this is my strawberry banana smoothie. it's jsut chunks of ice and taste like trash.

BBQ Chicken Salad and Turkey Chili. Delicious!

Great variety and an ever changing menu make this place a can't miss. The lemonade is delicious no matter the flavor.

With a heavy mound of onions and mushrooms on top, the grits ended up feeling dry and pulled all the moisture out of the bite. The flavor itself was fine, just lacking moisture and balance. We also ordered the scallops and risotto. The risotto was the standout. Bright, fresh finish, great texture, and not overpowering. The scallops, unfortunately, were the opposite. They had a noticeably strong smell right away, which usually means they're not as fresh as they should be, especially at a $40 price point. We took them home, but every time we opened the fridge the smell hit us, so they ultimately went in the trash. Despite this particular experience, we've always enjoyed this place. Service is consistently great, drinks are solid, and we usually leave happy. Hoping this was just an off evening, because we genuinely like coming here. Adding an additional * for the great service and because we haven't had a bad experience otherwise.

I reserved a table for five here for Mother's Day because we've had mostly good experiences here,…read morehaven't been in a little while, and they had both crab cake Benedict and bottomless mimosas on the prix fixe menu, two of my wife's favorite things. They were clearly understaffed, which was apparent from checking in with the hostess. The line of people waiting to check in with her caused the waiter taking desserts downstairs to have to wait up to five minutes with that tray. Once we were seated, we thought things might go better. Crab cake Benedict was the #1 choice for my wife and BIL, but the kids' menu didn't have the chicken and waffles the guy who called to confirm my reservation had mentioned. That was no problem because my kids have learned to find something to eat wherever we take them, and I ordered chicken and waffles to share with them because I love my kids and knew I would get enough food one way or another. The mimosa came in a wine glass because they had run out of flutes, which was fine by my wife, but she said they tasted heavier on the juice than on the prosecco. My waffles came out a bit burnt, but they replaced them with no problem when we pointed it out. My kids got fresh waffles, and I enjoyed the burnt ones. The chicken was one decent piece for a person, but split between my daughter and me was less than I had hoped for. Thankfully, the salad was a decent appetizer. When the crab cakes Benedict came, we were shocked to see a mess of scrambled eggs on a thin crab cake with an English muffin under. We always ask for hollandaise on the side because that sauce can go several different ways of bad, but in this instance we were genuinely confused how a benedict could come with anything other than poached eggs! The flavor was okay, but the texture and presentation left a lot to be desired. My wife only finished half of hers and didn't touch the limp fries. You can probably figure out how I made do with food in this instance. Our kids, meanwhile, devoured their food like we had starved them their whole lives, so on the plus side we didn't have to hear kids whining about food! Service was polite but very slow. I don't know that we'll be back. With the abundance of good restaurants in our area, it's going to be hard to justify returning here.

No one in town charges more for a beer than this place. For example, I enjoy local IPAs and Creature Comforts (Athens) is everywhere. I can go to several other stops in town and pay less for a 16 oz can or pour of this beer. Compared to another decent stop down the street, three roses is almost 30% more. My wife says one of the wines she likes is a little less than other stops, so that's good. But other drink prices tend to be on the high side as well, but most in town have higher liquor prices. That adds up if you like to frequent a place. Hence, we stopped frequenting. Overall, I like the decor and as noted, the food is decent. The upstairs is better than the downstairs but I'm glad they have the downstairs for some occasion when they could get busy. As for the Tavern / entertainment element, I've never seen any live music but they have several TVs. Not sure this would be my top choice to watch a game but it would work in a pinch if the other places were too busy or noisy.

Service. Strips. Sauce…read more I've been to Sidelines before and I'm never really disappointed in what I get, but it's also pretty simple bar food. The Chicken Tenders were exactly what I wanted, but I'm pretty sure I've had the exact same ones from other sports bars. I think the Tyson chicken breast strips are good (and I'd continue to get them), but they aren't really something special. I'd prefer wings and things. The sauce I got them tossed in was really really good. I got the Buffalo-aki wing sauce flavor and additionally requested the Lemon-Pepper seasoning... yum! The sweet potato fries were great. I really liked the way they were cut, and they weren't too greasy at all (like some fries). They were, however, not really seasoned... but it didn't matter when I paired it with the sauce. Which, by the way, the Honey Mustard sauce was especially good. I don't usually see Fried Green Beans on a menu, so I was expecting something really good and to add a lighter veggie to my meal, but they weren't great. While they were really tender, the breading was very thick and greasy. They tasted good in the first few bites, but it was hard to get through after a while. Would not recommend. The service at this location is particularly excellent. I had multiple people check in on me to see if I had been helped already. I was wearing a shirt with a small emblem on it, and multiple people pointed it out and thanked me for my military service. And they were all very personable and kept up a fun smile. Sidelines would be a great place to choose for wing night, and they've got lots of fun side options. It's pretty average bar food at a pretty average price.

We had reservations for 5:30 and they quickly seated us. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and attentive and we never lacked for drink refills. The seating is comfortable and there is upstairs dining accessible by elevator. I ordered the special, a thick cut pork chop. While my wife had the Trout Almondine. For side we chose the creamed kale and risotto. Before our dishes came out I had the kitchen salad with bleu cheese dressing and their complimentary bread. The dipping sauce was nice and a real twang. It was nice and unique for a few bites, but the vinegar was too strong to enjoy it past a few tastings. The salads were nice but nothing terribly exciting and with big leafs of greenery on a flat plate to challenge your dexterity. My pork chop was perfectly cooked and the flavors were fantastic. I'm not a kale fan, but there take was very good. Although the amount of lemon used in the flavoring was a bit too strong for more than a few bites. My risotto also had a sour note, but not as strong, and they were wonderfully creamy. We sampled each other's entrees and I'm not a fish person, but I almost (but not quite) almost regretted not getting the trout. It was absolutely delicious. And the sauce on my pork chop was fantastic. At the end of our meal I visited the restroom, which was where things turned downhill. I know older buildings can be a challenge to keep nice, and there's no predicting when a previous patron can leave a mess. But when I saw the revolting detritus piled in the corner, it was obvious the dirtiness of the bathroom was due to staff neglect over an extended period.

I also asked the kiosk to print out a receipt, which it failed to do. Nor did the employee provide one with my order. I asked the employee if I could get a cup and get my drink while my food was cooking, which he allowed (but hadn't offered). I noticed the peach and lemonade drinks were nearly empty (see my photo), but since I was getting a soft drink from the fountain it didn't cause me an issue. Their fountain isn't balanced and an excess of CO2 caused the dispenser to spit out mostly foam and it took a long time to fill my small cup. Speaking of which, a small drink costing $3.25 seems a bit steep to me, although the food items seam more reasonably priced. The dining room is small and all the hard surfaces and cheap metal chairs and stools makes for a cold, uncomfortable, and uninviting space. There is also a bar at the front window with stools. The food was surprisingly tasty. I had the gyro platter with feta and a side of tzatziki sauce added. The meat was very thinly sliced but good quality and a generous portion. The feta topping was pretty bland and unimpressive quality. The tzatziki sauce was good. The fires were crisp and nicely seasoned. The pita was the thinnest I've ever seen, but were soft.
