I've never been to this place for lunch, and their coffee has a weird gross flavor, and I'm usually not a fan of chains, but Panera still gets four stars from me because their pastries are SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS!! My favorite favorite favorite is the Wild Blueberry Scone, which in my opinion is to die for. Just the right amount of sweet and a tad salt and crispy crunchy edges and tender middle...YUM! The Sour Cherry Scone comes in close second. I've also had their bagels which are carboliciously chewy and yummy. As other reviewers have noted, their prices are a tad high. Scones are 2.49 and I already feel like I'm paying too much when I pay 1.90 at Starbucks. But once in a while, definitely worth it. read more

This place was jammed packed and super busy at lunch time but PW and I were still able to find a table. Healthy choices available and nutritional information about each item clearly visible - not hidden in a corner or in fine print: PW had a grilled cheese sandwich, yogurt and a lemonade (really refreshing). I had a bowl of black bean soup, fruit cup and a cup o' joe (about 310 calories). Service was helpful and efficient: there is more than just one person taking orders which made the line move along quickly. So, I took my two kids there tonight and was REALLY impressed with the service. The food is always good - not "outstanding" but I'm not paying for 5Star food. I want a good meal, and a clean/friendly place to each. I was just overwhelmed with the level of attention. I had my hands full with two youngsters and they offered to pick up my food for me, bring me everything I needed including a high-chair - AND, when I had to make an emergi-stop to the bathroom for the 4-year old, they didn't clear my last remaining bites and table. If you have a dry, hard brownie and you put fudgey frosting on it, it's a dry, hard, brownie with fudgey frosting. Their salads and sandwiches are okay. I much prefer La Boulanger, but in a pinch Panera will do. I find it odd that no matter if you are purchasing a sandwich the side offerings are still a whole apple or a piece of bread. I wish they offered salad greens, or other options as we generally just get an apple and take it home since no one in our family eats them whole/un-cut. are you kidding me??? I feel like every time I go to this location something is always wrong with my order. I always get food to go, never dine in. Last time they gave me a completely different soup than what I asked for. Today, my sandwich was ridiculously tiny. And my apple was BRUISED. So ugly and upset. How can they give their customers visibly bruised apples that look like they've been used for a game of catch. Absolutely disgusting. The ladies who prepare the food never smile, talk, or have decent customer service to their customers and it's honestly annoying. All they do is gossip with one another and glare at you if you dare ask a question or ask for a modification. This place should really replace its employees and train them to be better. I really like this location of Panera. Their staff is really nice and will work with you if you have any allergies or preferences. I love their salads and they are also quick and clean. I like their specials and they will send you emails to let you know about these specials like when they had a free bagel every day for a month! Wow! That was pretty awesome, who does that anywhere else!! I also like their price point compared to other places that claim to be fresh and healthy. But what makes it even better is how nice the staff has been when you come in. I am not sure if it's that way at all locations. read more

I am a big fan of Panera Bread. I enjoy their food, dining in there and take out. All this was prior to Covid 19. At 2pm on Friday, July 10 I went into Panera Bread to order my lunch. The people ordering at the counter and their child (about 7-10yo) were unmasked. I addressed the cashier and said that I believe the county ordinance requires all people in the establishment to wear face masks. The cashier responded "My manager tells me that I cannot ask people to wear masks." The mother in the party said "We are young and healthy and we don't need to wear masks". The husband added "I don't want to wear a mask" The cashier then served them samples and let them eat them at the counter. Needless to say I did not order my lunch there. read more

I love the mushroom wild rice soup and green ice tea they serve here. the green ice tea seem so juicy, it is so refreshing and light. It seems to have a melon like taste to it. I order it every time I go there. I love to order the soup and half sandwich meal. I have ordered the salad with the apples and other varieties but prefer to have bread involved because it is very good! I have had wonderful meals that were quite impressive since they tasted satisfying and wholesome. Panera has some really good food and I love the rapid pick up option, but they always seem to be out of bread even at 10am. I am particular about what type of bread I want depending on the sandwich I choose, so if you don't have it, that means I waisted my time going their because now I have to go somewhere else for Breakfast/Lunch. & Being that this has happened over 5x with in a small time frame (over 10x altogether) I decided to leave a review. I really love some of your sandwiches and soups but your bakers really need to get it together. Will update review soon. read more

Gone downhill a long way. I had probably the worst turkey sandwich ever, and my wife's tuna sandwich was awful too. This place used to be so good, it is sad. Bread was dry, bacon was cheap catering strips, turkey was rubbery. And they charge $9 for it! Avoid. read more

This is a good Panera to go to if you like Panera. I got the you pick two and I chose the steak and cheddar panini and the French onion soup and a raspberry thumbprint cookie of course... (Marketing works y'all there was a huge picture of it on the menu board.) I used to love the steak and Asiago sandwich and am bummed it's not there anymore. But the steak and cheddar hit the spot. It was generally clean, quiet, Etc.... the guy that took my order was fabulous! My receipt says "Hortencia" was his name. He was full of positive energy and greeted everyone coming in AND leaving! Another guy I would want working my restaurant if I ever owned one. My advice to Panera management would be to hire more guys like him and do what you have to to retain him as an employee. A great place for a healthy sandwich, soup, or salad. I usually get a salad and ask for the dressing on the side. They are always fresh and tasty. I've been to a few Paneras and they all deliver. Good food, clean surroundings, and while table service is not offered, the cleaning staff is attentive to clearing your table clutter. I am a fan of Panera Bread, but not on Monday evening. It was 7:30pm and they looked like they were ready to close. I ordered the pick two: Turkey Brava sandwich and French Onion Soup. When they brought it to my table, I noticed there was no cheese on my soup. It was lukewarm and the bacon in my sandwich was cold like it came from the refrigerator, and the tomato slices looked like they would have normally thrown that piece away. The staff there acted as if they didn't want to be bothered. I asked them if the soup came with cheese and they both looked at each other and one said "do we have any left?" He brought me a bowl of shredded cheese. Well, if my soup was hot, then it would have melted. It was the worst experience I have had at Panera and will probably not go back to that location. Okay.... Still 1*. This place should be called Panera Croutons not Panera Bread. How they seem to consistently mess up the one thing they are supposed to specialize in is beyond me. Ordered a chicken salad sandwich with toasted bread and extra mayo + basil pesto. Not only did they spend 25 minutes making it but when I get home I find out there's no mayo or pesto at all, the chicken was clearly expired and tasted super spoiled (diarrhea almost immediately after eating), and the bread was literally hard as a rock (see my video). I had to throw away the top pieces of bread because they were inedible, but ended up throwing it all away after I realized I was eating rotten chicken after the first couple bites. This one is located within a 5 minute drive from where I work. I love how they do online ordering for a pick up. When you come pick up your food(s) they are located at a table shelve when you come in so you can be in and out within seconds. Parking at this area could be a challenge during the lunch time rush hours but it was never an issue whenever I come here. So if you want to grab something quick and beat the lunch rush hours line then go do online order and pick it up from their pick up shelve :) read more

Their cinnamon raisin swirl bagels are my favorite! Whenever I'm looking for a quick bite to eat, I run in for a bagel (toasted and sliced, please!) and I'm out the door again within 5 minutes! This place can get very busy during lunch though so be warned! It is pretty nice and quiet most of the time though so if you need to use their wifi and study or read, it's a good place to go to. I've tried their chipotle chicken paninis before & it's good but really expensive for what you're getting. The portion is pretty small and they really pack the calories into that panini! While I was waiting for my food, the cashier called me back to tell me breakfast had ended 20 minutes ago. Would've been helpful to have been told that before. This location is the best. The prices are comparable to togo's but the service, and the taste of the food is much better/fresher. I get the 1/2 sandwich 1/2 salad combo 6.99 Frontega Panini and chicken ceaser salad w/ chips ( I save those for lunch the following day )The salad portions are huge and well the sandwich is half a sandwich. :) It's a great place to have lunch or dinner with friends. I've also tried their 3 cheese bread, I buy a loaf. It's so good, my kids make their lunch sandwiches with them. Hey, Panera Bread is growing in the Bay Area! I first discovered this chain when I was in Michigan....they were popping up all over the place in the metro Detroit area. I'd heard that there was one on Coleman in San Jose, but have been too lazy to venture out to find it. I noticed signs for this one, which is close to where I live, by the Bed,Bath, & Beyond next to the freeway exit (on the north side of Hamilton). How convenient! They have baked goods, bread, bagels, sandwiches, soup, salads, coffee drinks, etc. So, you place your order with the cashier, then if you ordered food that needs to be prepared, you get a pager, & when it goes off, you go pick up your food at the counter. Seat yourself, if you're dining in. I like the "you pick two" option ($6.99)...you can pick any of the two: bowl of soup, half sandwich, half salad. I usually go for a sandwich & salad. The new (for me) part is you also get your choice of a part of a french baguette, part of a whole grain baguette, chips, or apple. Last time I went before this (at a location in Michigan), you got part of a french baguette, no option. Looks like they've been expanding their menu...there's Crispani hand-crafted pizza too at this location. Looks like their usual soups every day are broccoli cheddar, low fat chicken noodle, and french onion. They rotate a couple others throughout the week. In general for Panera: I've tried several of the signature sandwiches, & my favorite is the sierra turkey. The bagels, especially asiago cheese, are good. I've gotten loaves of bread there before, & you can get whole or sliced. Their breads/pastries are fresh. Apparently, there's free wi-fi too. I haven't dined in/hung out here yet. I stopped by today to pick up some lunch on my way home from work & also picked up some pastries for breakfast tomorrow since I don't know what'll be open & I will need to feed my parents, who were nice enough to come down to spend Christmas with me, since I'm on my 30-minute-radius-tether for the holiday weekend. I'll update this if the pastries aren't any good! Panera dropped items on their menu that supports a vegetarian diet!!!! This restaurant was our favorite place to go for both lunch and dinner. Now it can't be because the only items for vegetarian are a salad and a black bean soup, pretty much. Even the pasta they're offering is poor and not well thought out and everyone offers pasta for vegetarians!! I can't explain how disappointing this is!!! BOO to Panera for copping out and not supporting vegetarians as well as they had been for so long!!!! read more

They discontinued the toffee cookie, which was what drew me here. I wrote Panera an email and they said they would let the "decision makers" know about my request to bring it back. It's ok, choco chip is good too, but no more toffee cookie!! read more
