Lots of parking outside in the square and it's right next to the lot from trader joes and tomatina. It's a big spacious restaurant wherein you enter in a line to the counter. You can walk through the aisle of fresh bread loaves that you can add to go. The display has a big menu and i was pleasantly surprised to see so many new items in addition to what i am used to seeing at the original sf outlet. In $36, we got: - sourdough loaf to go $6 - broccoli cheddar soup bowl with side of dinner roll 5/5 yummy creamy soup that the kiddo loved - rustic tomato soup in a bread bowl original rating 1/5 as the bread was super cold and soup quantity was too less. Temperature of soup was cold and texture was lumpy. I am glad i asked our server about it and she offered to bring a side of extra hot soup to make up. That made this back to 3/5 for me. She saved the rating here tbh!! - pepperoni garlic bread 3/5 - 2 pcs with too crisp of a pepperoni and it gets hard pretty quickly so you gotta eat this first or dunk it into some soup Clean restrooms and good service saved the day!

I haven't been to the particular Boudin in quite some time! This plaza is a little congested and sadly, there seems to be a lot of homeless people that hang out where the Sprint or T-Mobile store used to be, which is to the right of sprouts. There's a cute open Table area for people to have their lunch and the homeless have set up shop there. Good thing for me, this restaurant is to the left of that so the homeless might be in the vicinity, but usually not in front. I love the way this is set up and they have a kiosk. You can touchscreen order from or order from an actual live person. Since I'm old-fashioned, I'd rather talk to a person And I ordered from a lovely lady and was able to get a delicious cookie and a coffee since I just wanted an appetizer/snack. Everything was very clean and organized within the restaurant and I can't wait to come back and try that lobster macaroni! The salad looked delicious as well! I also like the fact they actually have smoothies but sadly, I don't know if they're lactose free- since I'm intolerant ... oh well if anything else they'll always have royal cookies and I love those cookies!!

** UPDATE** 12/15/24 My last review was over 10 years ago and it wasn't good. My Dad eats the salads here often so I was hungry and thought I'd give Boudin another try. MISTAKE. Popped in today (Sunday) around 3:15pm. There were a few people sitting in the dining room but not many which I expected since it was well after the lunch rush. What I did notice were all the empty tables that had dirty dishes on them. Strike one. I stood in line to place my order and not a single employee acknowledged me. Strike two. Finally I gave up and used the kiosk instead and moved over to the pick up location. What a chaotic mess. There were two employees in the prep area, a manager who looked like she'd rather be anywhere else than at work and two runners. The manager on duty seemed unorganized and not attentive to her customers at all. There was a woman ahead of me who clearly had been waiting for her to-go order for an usual amount of time. She finally asked the manager about her order and was asked if she had soup and two sandwiches. She answered yes and the manager said "cool" and walked away. One of the runners came over, looked in a bag that was sitting in the counter, added a sandwich that was sitting on the counter and handed the waiting customer the bad. At that point the customer grabbed the bad, mumbled something and quickly left. She was obviously and rightfully irritated. Strike three. My order was 1/2 a sandwich and a cup of soup. I literally waited over 15 minutes for something that should have taken 5 since no orders came out before mine and there was no one after me. My order was finally bagged and handed to me to bank home I went. Here's what I ordered: 1/2 CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH - total disappointment. The ingredients include chicken, red grapes, green onion, and slivered almonds. There was maybe 1/4 of a cup of chicken salad with not a single red grape or almond in sight. The bread was dry and very small. CLAM CHOWDER - HORRIBLE! Just as bad as it was 10 years ago. Super fishy and unpleasant. I love clam chowder but this continues to be the worst and after 2 bites I tossed it. Why can't this place get it together? Good customer experience starts with a manager who takes pride in their job and genially likes their job. I got the feeling that wasn't the case here and it shows in every aspect of my experience. I will not be returning.

3.5 Stars. This location is in the shopping center with Tomatina Restaurant, BevMo, Sprouts Market, etc. Quiet location. Nice simple decor. Customer service is friendly and polite. Their sandwiches, pizzas, and soups, especially their clam chowder in sourdough bowls, are good.

I have to give this place 4 stars because it really hit the spot! I haven't had boudin in years but was randomly craving it. I convinced my bf to go and we were pleasantly surprised that both the taste and value were decent. I like that you can get a half and half meal to try multiple things and the half sandwich is pretty big. It was $13 something for the meal which felt fair. Of course we knew it wouldn't be anything on par with a nice local deli, but the bread was tasty, and all of the ingredients were fresh. The sandwich is definitely not generous with the meat and other ingredients so it tastes heavy on the bread, but I was ok with that since I love sourdough. All of the ingredients in the Mac were tasty too, although there wasn't much short rib and one of the pieces was completely fat. As long as you are aware that this is mid quality food, on par with Panera, boudin is a solid option. It satisfied my craving. I also liked that we ordered online, it was ready fast, and you just grab your bag and go. No need to speak to anyone for those days when you don't want to be perceived.

I was there last time for their freshly cooked paella and it was impeccable. Recently we came back…read moretwice, once on Sunday as I forgot that the paella was a Friday thing, so the staff told me that they usually have paella and clam chowder freshly cooked on Friday. They happened to have a small tub of Friday clam chowder left for sale, for a whopping $16! That price dropped my rating to a 4 star. Service is still 5, but man, the value proposition isn't as high as before. The clam chowder tasted good, creamy and all, but $16 for that is really hard to swallow. The store itself is clean and sells a variety of meat products and imported goods such as from Italy. We came again on Friday evening, at 5pm exact and saw the paella pan laid outside with some amount of paella piled up. The pan felt cold and we were confused if they haven't started cooking or those were the left over. So we went inside to ask and they said the paella was available starting at 5pm, so what's on the pan was cooked. We bought 1 portion, which feeds 2-3 and it came in two 16 oz tubs. For $35, it fed my husband and myself just right. The smoky flavor was on the rice with meat and lots of clams and mussels (but not those fatty mussels that you saw in the Belgium style dish). $35 for dinner of two is not as bad value as the $16 bowl of chowder. So overall, 3.5-4 stars for food and value, 5 stars for service and friendliness.

She let me know that some places say "kosher style," but that doesn't mean that they actually serve kosher food! They have both a market full of kosher foods and a cafe. The menu is kind of simple: your choice of meat, which you can get as a sandwich or a plate. Unfortunately, they were out of kabobs when we went, which was my first choice. I went with the chicken schnitzel as a plate because I was interested in the various salads. I chose rice instead of fries, and they gave me a ton of rice! Everything was made to order. The schnitzel was pounded flat and delicious. I liked a lot of the side salads, including one that was red cabbage-based. I bought something similar at the market - hoping it tastes as good. This place is not fancy on the inside, with long group tables, but there were a lot of people coming in either eating lunch there or grabbing it to go. I enjoyed what I ate and will want to come back and try something else next time (hopefully the kabobs).

We walked into a cozy, compact space with shelves filled with freshly baked breads, pastries, and prepared foods, all arranged in a way that makes you want to browse slowly even though the shop is small. The atmosphere has that simple, welcoming feel reminiscent of the small bakeries you find throughout Japan, focusing more on quality and variety than on a large café setup. Seating is limited, so it is better suited for grabbing something to go rather than spending a long time inside. The biggest draw here is the combination of Japanese baked goods and savory items. The bakery selection offers a great mix of sweet and savory options, with classics like melon pan standing out for its crisp sugary topping and soft interior that stays light without being dry. The curry bread and croquette bread are also popular choices, both feeling comforting and freshly made rather than overly sweet or greasy. The bakery items are reasonably priced, which makes it easy to pick up multiple things without feeling like you are spending too much, and the variety means there is always something new to try. The onigiri selection is what really makes Clover stand out compared to a typical bakery. They offer a variety of rice balls with fillings like spicy tuna, tuna mayo, and unagi, making it a great option for a quick breakfast or light meal. The rice is well balanced and the fillings give each onigiri a different personality. The spicy tuna has a nice kick that comes through without overpowering the rice, while the unagi adds a sweeter, more savory flavor that works especially well with the slightly salty rice. The onigiri are a practical, satisfying choice for anyone looking for something more substantial than a pastry. Beyond the baked goods and onigiri, Clover also has drinks, sandwiches, and desserts including cakes and other pastries. The strawberry cake is a nice lighter dessert option, and the overall menu gives plenty of reasons to visit whether you are looking for breakfast, a snack, or something to bring home. The offerings feel thoughtfully selected, with enough variety to cover different cravings without making the menu feel scattered. Service is friendly and efficient, and the small size of the shop adds to the charm. Since it has become a popular local spot, some items can sell out during busy hours, so arriving earlier gives you the best selection. Parking can also be a little challenging during peak times, but the quick grab-and-go style makes the visit easy to manage. Clover Bakery & Cafe is a great stop for anyone who enjoys Japanese bakeries. The combination of fresh breads, affordable prices, and unique savory options like onigiri makes it feel different from a standard bakery. It is the type of place where it is worth picking up a few items and trying a mix of everything, leaving you with the sense that you have found a little neighborhood gem that delivers on both quality and variety.
