Seriously? $32. when my order was for two cups of soups, a half sandwich, a small salad, one small drink and a chocolate croissant? When I questioned the clerk about the ridiculous price, she then recalculated and it was only $23. WTH. When you say "Small" for soup, say CUP instead or else they will charge you for a BOWL. When you say "Small" for salad, say HALF instead or else they will charge you for a FULL sized salad. This is the SECOND TIME this has happened to me at this location with the overcharging BS. Either this is a corporate driven technique to ensnare customers, or the staff is bilking customers, or they need re-training. And I don't have a speech impediment or just came from the dentist after novocaine. NOT GOING BACK TO THIS LOCATION. Re-thinking my need for Panera sandwichs and soups....Verdict: it ain't worth it. There's something about Panera that makes it synonymous with lunchtime (aside from food, of course). I'm digging this new sensor system they're using too! No need to pick up your food at the counter. Just bring the sensor to any table and park yourself there to wait a (very) short time for you food - nice! Another big plus in my book - They have caffeine-free Diet Pepsi. (I get enough caffeine and it's so nice to have this option!) Ahh...the little things. And then there's the Sesame Chicken Salad. Tangy, light, and the vinaigrette dressing is even low-sugar! (You wouldn't even know this is a healthy choice - the flavor is *that* amazing.) I don't get over to Panera as often as I'd like, simply because the lunchtime madness in the parking lot is scary - but I'm never disappointed whenever I brave the crowds. read more

We used to be HUGE fans of Panera and we LOVE their Egg Souffles (my fav is the spinach and bacon) but they always sell out before we get there in the mornings. The egg souffles are their spin on a breakfast quiche and are absolutely delicious! But after the 7 or 8th time of them selling out of the egg souffles, the bf and I stopped coming to Panera. We just weren't fans of their other breakfast pastries (bagels, croissants,etc.) and their drip coffee lacks a full flavor. However last week we were next door at Bed, Bath, and Beyond picking up some items when Nam's hypoglycemia kicked in and I needed to be fed before my evil twin sister emerged. (We try and stop her from coming out by keeping me fed at regular times). Since Panera was next door, we decided to give our old haunt another try. I settled on a half soup and sammie combo: the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich and the Creamy Tomato soup. I took my first bite into the sandwich and was so surprised how fresh and flavorful it was! A tasty cilantro hummus with cucumbers and other veggies topped with feta in between two very soft pieces of their tomato basil bread. I couldn't decide which was better, the bread or the goodies inside...either way--Delish!!! The soup was equally tasty and was topped with Asiago croutons. The bf also enjoyed his combo of a Turkey Breast sandwich and Greek salad. The price is extremely reasonable and parking is ample. With our restored faith in Panera....we'll be back. If not to get the elusive egg souffle, then to have their yummy lunch combos. read more

They need to teach their workers how to be more professional and polite. We just had lunch here the cashier girl who took our order didn't bother to smile or wave us to her cash register. Usually people say next, that way we know they are ready to take the next order. But she just stood there with a blank look at her face, before finally turning to stare at my dad. And when I mean stare, I mean a blank, deadpanned, mean face. No smile, no gestures. She didn't say anything still, so my dad went over to her and she didn't greet us. And when my dad told her his order she looked at me next, not even bothering to say "anything else?" Or "will that's complete your order?" She just continued to stare rudely at me until I spoke. How does she think that's acceptable?? You work in customer service your job is to make people comfortable. read more

Came in here for lunch with a co-worker today and what a great experience. There are a lot of businesses in this area and this Panera is located on a very busy street so lunch time is packed with people. I am a picky guy when it comes to food so I was hesitant about ordering since they were super busy and figured they would I mess something up. Boy was I wrong, I ordered from the self service automated kiosk and placed my order for a soup and sandwich and the sandwich was customized with no onions or horseradish and I asked for mayo instead and extra cheese. I then went to the waiting area to pick up my order and for being as busy as they were my wait was not long at all and I went back to the office with my food. I was so happy that my order was made to perfection and it was delicious as well. I saw the way the staff interacted with the customers in the restaurant and they were all very friendly and helpful. This place seems very well ran from the cashiers to the cooks to the people who expedite the orders. Had to leave a good review because now a days it really is rare to find places where you get treated well with quick service and delicious food the way you ordered it, great job Panera! read more

I used to enjoy going to Panera. Emphasis on used to. One time, we went here for breakfast. There were a good six or seven employees behind the counter, and it seemed that as one person took our order, the other would ask us what we had ordered and if they could help us out. Granted, they wanted to make sure we got our in, honestly, how many people needs to ask us? I think it's just my supply chain background. I believe in efficiencies, and when it takes that many people to fulfill an order, there are major issues. read more

Just ordered food online at this location. Arrived to the rapid pickup and my food appeared to not be ready. Only for my boyfriend to go to the counter to find out that our food had been sitting on the counter the entire time we had been sitting there. Five minutes. Love, love, love the panera chain but this one is totally lackluster. Service is alright, I've experienced better service at other paneras. (Stevens creek location is still the best one I've been to!) My friend found a bug in her sandwich! Yuck! When it was brought to their attention, they snickered about it and didn't even apologize. Disgusting. Also, our food was just waiting on the counter and the buzzer never went off. The layout off the restaurant feels cramped too. Definitely a "meh" experience. read more

I absolutely love this place. Since Panera has opened, they have never failed me. Ever!! And I am a hard person to please when it comes to food. I go there so often that they know me. Even when I order to go on the phone they know who I am. It's such a nice personal touch. The place is so clean. Friendly service is excellent and oh so quick!!! I don't like things quick, but when it comes to service I am impressed. I have quite a few faves here. The tuna sanwich is so yummy!!! I have it plain with bread, screw the tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. I like to taste the food for what it is, and one thing it is not is fishy!!! I also get the smokehouse panini..to die for!!! Panera Bread serves me right most of the time. But I went here in the later hours and I guess the principle to bakeries, holds true to the same as places as sushi joints. Everything came about sub-par and didn't taste as fresh. The service was nice though - the associate trainer impressed me with the way she helped me out. The strawberry poppyseed salad I had tasted like it was pre-packaged... and it was. But no complaints, I just came at a wrong time. I do not get though - how everything comes with a side. I'm always happy to eat at Panera. Although it is a chain, the food is consistently good. I like the "you pick two" where you can select two items - half sandwich, cup of soup or side salad. There is an extensive list of varied choices. I usually choose a half sandwich and soup. My favorite sandwich is the turkey artichoke hot panini, it's very tasty and spread reminds me of artichoke dip. My hubby 's favorite is the asiago roast beef. The soups have all been good - but I especially like the broccoli cheddar and french onion. I also discovered with the "you pick two" salads they'll add chicken breast at *no extra charge*, which is great. The quality is fresh and more gourmet flavors than most sandwich chains. You're also not stuck with tired old chips - since you have you choice of an apple, a chunk of baguette or chips. I personally think anyplace where we can eat a tasty, filling meal for 2 for under $20 is reasonable. It's filling enough as a dinner too. I like the fact that the seating area has several different areas, it gives you some more privacy and the ambiance is pleasant. They also have amusing bread art on the walls. edit to add: we stopped by to grab some dinner about a half hour before they were to close. Is it just me or have the portions/quality gotten really skimpy over here at this location? Today I got the Frontega Chicken Sandwich and the Baked Potato soup... usually a winner. Today not so much. Meat was skimpy, literally only like one inch of cheese and the soup was WAY watery and flavorless. I've probably come here once a week during dinner with my son. We always get the same thing since my son is very picky. Broccoli cheddar soup with a bread. It's always been very consistent on the soup on , . They manage to keep the area very clean for guest and parking is very accessible. They do sometimes gave me smaller than usual pieces of bread or even non crunchy ones. When that happens, i bring it up to the counter and they never have any problems replacing our bread. read more

This location is in a humming, busy area of Campbell. The lines are short, but it gets really crowded at lunchtime so that finding a table can be a challenge. They keep the restaurant clean and friendly and service is fast. A great place to grab a quick bite with a friend or colleague. read more

My Chai tea latte is so sweet I can barely drink it, but my egg souffle was Delicious, different and a little naughty. I think this is a locals and eBay hang out. It's like a bakery/deli/coffee shop with free wifi. After a bad experience driving around to coffee shops and Valley Fare mall, it was the first place with real free wifi. And, when my phone needed a charge, I felt OK plugging it in on one of their outlets. Not something I would do everyday, but today when I really HAD to, it was to know that I could. As you can tell, the internet connection is pretty important to me right now! Think I need to trade in this sugary latte. OK, I just went to the counter and they exchanged my latte with a regular. Easy and with a smile, I love this place. And a big shout out for their kid menu. Natural Peanut Butter in the PB andJ, Organic cheese in the grilled cheese, and no nuggets!!!! I usually get a half and half of either a sandwich and/or soup and/or salad. This time I got the salad and soup. The greek salad was less than the amount then the other locations. Please don't skimp! I come to this Panera nearly every single day. (I work right next to it and mobile order my food) this morning I ordered my usual. I get the bacon cheese and egg sandwich on a butter croissant. I went to get my sandwich and there was no bacon on it. I walked back to get the bacon on it and when I gave it to them the people who are on the side making the food looked extremely annoyed and she threw some cold bacon in the sandwich and gave it back to me. This is ridiculous. I order food here almost everyday (I'm sure they recognize my name considering I order two meals a day during my shift). It's just rude and inconsiderate. We always get Panera To go for our lunches at work and I have to give them credit for how well they pack and organize everything. We have quite a few people so they pack everyones order in their own brown baggie. They pack their drinks in what I like to call cardboard kegs. All in all , Panera is perfect for catering large parties. Now to the food: Broccoli and Cheddar Soup: My favorite! The cheese isn't overwhelming and there's a cornucopia of broccoli! I always pair it with a baguette roll. Perfect to dip. Steak Panini : Not the most amazing panini I've had but it is quite enjoyable. I love horseradish with my steak so their horseradish cream compliments the sandwich and prevents it from being too dry. Macaroni and Cheese: love the unique pasta shape and the flavor. However, it gets too rich when I reach the halfway mark and the noodles are submerged in the creamy cheese. You should also come in and pick from their array of pastries when you're craving something sweet! read more

I really like this place. They have another location up by where I work; but I never go to that one. The best thing to do is get a "You Pick 2"; where you get to ...well, pick 2 of the three: half sandwich/soup/salad. I usually go with a half Smokehouse Turkey and a crock of French Onion soup. Their French Onion is to DIE for. The chocolate chipper (Ok, the name is really annoying, I admit) cookies are awesome and super big and THICK. I have a huge sweet tooth and I can usually only manage one of these bad boys. They have some ice-blended coffee drinks that are pretty decent. Their homemade lemonade is pretty kickass too. I got tomato soup and the Thai chicken salad. Both were actually really good! I ended up gobbling everything down... even though I was having a pretty bad stomachache that day... I rather not know what I'm eating and just eat it) and the tomato soup was delicious! I had half a sandwich and half a salad here and it was good enough, but a little too expensive for the portion size. (Not that I need to eat MORE, of course!) The fandango salad's dressing was quite sweet, so I might've preferred it on the side. The cold veggie sandwich on sundried tomato bread was pretty tasty, but the bread was soft and would have been better if toasted. The place was absolutely packed at lunch, but they got the food out quickly enough. Navigating this poorly laid out restaurant is a pain. It's a maze of tables, walls, beverage/condiment stations, etc. Parking and traffic in this brand-new shopping center just off the freeway is a bitch, too. I'm sure the bread is fine, but I'd rather buy from a local bakery (either via Whole Foods or directly at the farmers' market). As chains go, it could be a whole lot crappier than it is--I'd eat here again if my coworkers wanted to go, or if--god forbid--my only choices were Subway, Togo's, and Panera. read more

I love the Panera on Coleman Ave (San Jose), but this is closer to my new apartment so I thought I'd check it out. I've been here twice, and was disappointed both times. The service here is weird. The same girl was at the counter both times, and she always seems very zoned out and bored to ring up our order. You might expect this from a McDonalds type place, but when you're paying $6+ for a sandwich you expect a friendlier level of service. The tables are so close together here that I can barely walk through the aisles, and I'm not overweight so I can't imagine if someone were larger or in a wheelchair. There are usually napkins and trash on the floor, and a lot of the tables had crumbs even at 4 pm when there was no meal rush. edit: It seems to have improved a bit now. When in doubt, I head to Panera! (more specifically, the one on Hamilton :) They have a great selection of salads, soups, and sandwiches to choose from, and all at reasonable prices. I'm especially a big fan of their UP2 (You Pick Two) deal where you choose two of following: cup of soup, small salad, or half a sandwich. They're green tea and chai are also pretty good. Oh, and +1 for putting the calories on the menu, it's always good to see restaurants that help you make healthy choices. The place itself is fairly cozy, with lots of comfy chairs and booths to sit and do work while you eat. I make it my place to get work done when I want to eat AND get coffee. The cashiers are always friendly and the food comes out SUPER fast. Sometimes my buzzer goes off before I finish paying at the other counter! Oh, and if you haven't already, ask to join their myPanera club, it gives you rewards for purchases. I've already had two free coffee drinks in under a month! There are a few drawbacks to this location. There's usually a line, sometimes rather long if you come at the just the right time in the morning or night, so be prepared. Oh, and they do run out of stuff, like certain breads or soups on cold days, so don't be surprised if you come late and they don't have anything. The place isn't huge, so it can fill up, but if you're just one person like me, you can usually grab one of the chairs on the outside walls. WiFi is free BUT limited to two hours at lunch (not sure why its okay at dinner), so just plan ahead. It's not the fastest either, so I never get through that much work on the laptop. Panera is really hit or miss. Don't get me wrong, put a loaf of bread in front if me and we're in business. But, it appears to me that the sandwiches are always thrown together - literally. As if one guy is tossing turkey and lettuce, from a distance, onto two sliced of bread. When I go somewhere to get a sandwich, it's because I'm there for convenience and the speediness. I don't want to have to reconstruct my meal when it gets to me. I love the bread. I love the soups and the quality of food is good. I just wish they would put more effort into my meal - especially if I'm paying almost $12 for it! read more

Friendly staff but the resturant needs some cleaning badly -2 vents have what appears to be dead flys stuck in the little homes and the are where the self serve soda is a utter mess wet straws, wet sugar packets, piles and of mixed condiments.
