Steel cut Oats- cooked to perfection and topped with strawberries, toasted pecan pieces and cinnamon crunch topping. The oats, strawberries and pecans were fresh and good but it was topped with a brown sugar cinnamon crunch that made it too sweet for me. Next time I'll order it without. I was in the mood for a soup of a different variety then the norm. I chose the French Onion soup. They always have seasonal soups and salads. I do love the squash one in the Fall but we are not there yet. I chose the "pick 2" they are famous for. You can get a combo of either a salad with a soup, sandwich and soup, salad and sandwich, in any way you choose. There are also half and full sizes and small and big . The seasonal salad they had was a strawberry poppyseed salad . I chose that one to go with my soup. The onion soup appeared darker than what I am used to getting but the flavor still was great. The salad was quiet pleasing with a refreshing taste for your palette. I did have the chicken added to it and it was tender and juicy. The dressing was just enough to mix in it not to make it seem overloaded and soggy. I would definitely order this once again. The do also offer rewards you need to sign up for if you frequent this place and receive free items after so many points. The service is always good with cashiers being friendly. The order was made quickly and to my liking. You can also order your own food when you walk into the door. What's not to like about Panera? They have delicious pastries and breads and it's a great place to get a sweet snack while out. I was in the area recently and I stopped in here for some muffins. The trash was full, no place to keep soiled dishes. The tortilla strips on my Mexican corn chowder was stale. My soup was once again barely 90 degrees. Either no employee or supervisor here is aware of hot food holding temperature (135 deg) or no one is even Serv Safe certified. There are states that mandate a food handler cert for every food service employee and this may not be the case in Florida. My complaint two days ago was in vain. Well this location is ok-I wouldn't say great as I noticed a lot of the tables were dirty when we went to sit at them (while waiting for our order). We ordered a caesar salad (Large) no croutons and my daughter ordered the Mac n cheese. I like the fact that they do indeed give you a water cup and don't charge for it! am totally repulsed at places (like Dunkin' Donuts) that charge even a nickel! This location has a ton of outdoor seating which is nice. The courtyard has pretty flowers and a fountain that the kids really like. They had two people at the register and the line moved quickly during the lunch hour rush. Most of the staff was pleasant except the lady trying to refill the self serve teas. She was kind of rude when my daughter was trying to get her drink. The kids Mac n cheese is always a hit with my kids. Always have loved Panera. This location is high traffic but there a ton of other restaurants to visit in the shopping center. Usually I'd say this a 3 or 4 star reliable spot but the past few visits have been not even a 1. The why? Ordered a salad on separate occasions and several items were missing. I give this location a "Meh +" rating. It's fine, the WiFi seemed a little hit or miss when just outside the cafe itself which always irks me. The coffee was fine, not terribly hot as mentioned by other reviewers. I ordered something to go on my way out that was simple to make so it was decently quick to come out which was appreciated. Not crowded but I find it irritating and an unfortunate ding against the establishment when it's customers aren't keeping with local regulations like social distancing and wearing masks when getting up from your table. I have a sip club subscription, so I went to get a drink with my breakfast, I was standing next to the employee that was trying to feel the drink dispenser, However, she had a very large container that had a bug in it. she asked her helper to bring her a cup, and she fished the bug out of the large container, while I pointed out that there is a bug, she dismissed it and continue to pour the entire container into the dispenser. I complained to the assistant manager, but I think I heard the whistle that took the message from one ear and out of the other ear. Located in the shopping mecca of Mission Bay Plaza, this is a great Panera Bread. There is nothing at this particular location which stands out above any other Panera Bread in terms of the sandwiches, coffee, or sweet treats, however, its location is fantastic. The Mission Bay Plaza is setup like an old Spanish mission (minus the church) with a courtyard and a fountain in the middle. In fact, if you cracked up some of the brick courtyard, and filled the fountain with sand, this would look like the place where they shot the Three Amigos, starring the kings of comedy, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Chevy Chase. (okay, so Martin Short has really done nothing sense. Whatever). Let me start by saying the extreme lack of professionalism from this locations management team is unreal. On 4/23/2021 I placed an order online for delivery at Panera's website online. My order was given an estimated time of arrival and usually the websites tracker updates as to its status. This time it stayed on your food is being prepared well past my estimated time of arrival so I called the Panera location to check on my food. I spoke to the manager Matthew and he told me my order left ten minutes ago and that I needed to call doordash to find out where it was since that was the delivery service they used. So I did, I called doordash and waited on hold 30 mins to speak to someone from doordash to finally be told that they hadn't received my order yet from Panera and the driver was still waiting on it. So I called Panera again and spoke to Matthew again. He claims that doordash was wrong and that the food left when he told me over an hour ago. So my food finally arrives and it is over an hour late from when it was supposed to arrive. The Mac and cheese was ice cold. Everything was soggy and wilted and gross. I called Matthew again and explained this I said it was odd how my food arrived over an hour late and in poor condition when I live less than ten minutes from them. I was upset because doordash and Panera didn't have matching stories to go along with where my food was. Matthew claimed he would refund me on 4/23/2021. He said he would take care of the refund and I would see it in a few days. Well here we are 5/4/2021 and I have no refund for this issue. I see the charge posted on 4/26/2021 so I called Panera back again and Matthew answers the phone. I re explain my issue and tell him that I am pretty sure he is the manager that I spoke with on 4/23/2021. He at first apologized and asked me for my credit card information so he could issue me a refund. He gets me credit card information and tells me he is placing me on a brief hold to make sure the refund goes through. When he returned to the phone he tells me I will not receive a refund for the order. So I ask to speak with his GM. He connects me with the GM who is completely rude and unprofessional. He talks over me and doesn't listen to me. I asked the GM for his first name so I can document who I am speaking with since I am going to make a complaint to corporate about this lack of professionalism and the GM refused to give me his name. He claims he cannot issue me the refund that he needs to request that doordash issue the refund. He claims he has no way to prove that the request was made or even let me know when I should expect my refund. So I called doordash again on 5/4/2021 and spoke to 7 employees from doordash and was on the phone for over an hour with doordash trying to request my refund that the Panera GM claims needs to come from doordash. Doordash finally tells me that Panera needs to issue the refund. That since I ordered through Panera's website not doordash my payment information is with Panera and they can't access it. Doordash even called Panera while I was on hold with them and spoke to Panera's GM and asked them for my payment information so that doordash could issue me the refund. Panera's GM claimed he didn't have my payment information. This is a lie. I spoke to Matthew that morning and gave him my credit card information over the phone and also when I spoke to the GM he himself said he found my order information on his computer so this was just a continuation of the lies Panera was telling. After all of that I called my bank. I disputed the charge through them since no one wanted to take responsibility and help me in getting my refund. I also cancelled my credit card that I gave to Matthew because these mangers at this Panera location as very untrustworthy and unprofessional. Who knows what they will do with my personal information. They can't even be trusted with telling the truth. read more
