Someone told me their subs were good over a decade ago. I didn't think much of it since they are chains and everywhere. I cannot believe all these years I never tried their subs thinking Publix has the best subs. Well their subs are double the price of Publix' but they are worth it. I never had pastrami thinking they are like roast beef. Turned out they are not. They are much juicier and greasier which I loved. Steak and cheese was good but I had better ones. My wife used to be a John Smith Subs employee way back in the day! Once we moved down to Florida, it was inevitable that we'd be checking this branch out sooner or later. Last week we finally made it in. But it wasn't all that great I'm sorry to say. I love a divey sub spot as much as anyone, but I didn't really get the four or five star vibes here. For our order we got an Italian steak sandwich, a grilled chicken salad and an order of fries. The sandwich was really disappointing. The meat was very off putting. It was way too thick and chewy. Definitely needed to be chopped a bit more, but overall the meat didn't seem to be good quality. I also didn't love the roll, which didn't take like real bread to me. It tasted like a generic supermarket cellophane wrapped roll. Mushy and fake. The salad felt like something you'd get in a high school cafeteria. Basic veg, basic chicken, just completely uninspired. Also, the jalapeños were mush. Really gross. The fries were pretty decent, but I disagree with the claim that they're something amazing. They were just OK. Overall two stars. My wife's nostalgia didn't save the day. This place is definitely below average and not worth a visit. read more

I love subs places that amaze you. Peking is easy as they're located in a plaza. We didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to place the order. The cashier offered recommendations based on what I shared I liked. Self seating option dine in has many tables and it wasn't as packed but you could tell the place was good just from observing the faces of people eating. It's not a fancy place, but these are the best subs places, where they focus on a quality sub at a good price. Food was ready in less than 10 mi and they brought it out to our table. I had the steak bomb. What a deliciousness! Cooked to perfection and perfect temperature. The bread was amazing. They have 6 in and 12 in. Individually wrapped. The sub was 16.00 and it was dry , chicken which didn't matter cause it was over cooked. The quality has gone down , while the prices have gone up. So, Ive come here many times, but have never been compelled to write an actual review. With that being said, Jon Smiths is like no other sub shop, its a revved up, fresh quality, kind small chain. The steak is always hand cut sirloin and the other meats like chicken and even the Tuna is always fresh. The ladies at the counter are always super friendly and everyone works so hard here to make sure everyday is a great experience for their guests. The steak and cheese with onions is a classic and I love getting it. You have the option of adding mayo and its delicious. The steak is juicy and you can tell its marinated fresh daily. Prices are reasonable, a large will cost you around $10 before tax and it fills you up. I love the fries, the oil is changed very often so Ive never had a batch that tasted like old oil. The seating they have is not social distanced but the people that did come in while we were eating were smart enough to sit with space in-between them. This place continues to amaze me. How do they stay so unchanged, yet so good? Walking in, it's like going back in time to the 1990s. The wood paneling, the neon, the logo in need of a refresh, the simple decorations... At first, you'd think these are things that could hurt the brand. But no, they MAKE the brand. Simply put, the food here is out of this world. I usually get the Chicken Bomb or Steak Bomb. Both are unreal. The bread is soft, the meat is tender, the cheese is...cheesy. And oh, don't get me started about the fries. When I saw the sign on the window saying they were voted better than McDonald's fries, I snickered. But then when I tried them, I instantly realized how true that is. They really ARE better than any other fries I've had (except maybe Shake Shack's fries). All in all, I hope this place never changes. They represent a simpler time, before all the big chains took over. Shockingly disappointed! Let me tell you...I've been going to Jon Smiths for probably a decade if not longer... and tonights order was uber disappointing. It didnt even seem like the same place I love! The bread was stale so much so the ends were hard.. its normally always soft and fluffy. The entire steak mushroom and onion sub lacked flavor very bland and dry. I don't know what happened. Everything just tasted off. So confused what happened!!!???? I couldn't even finish half of it and ended up tossing it out. Ugh ... very sad read more

Upon arrival we were greeted by a very attentive staff member. He was very detailed oriented when taking our order. Making sure our subs had exactly what we would want on it. My husband opted for the meatballs with provolone cheese. The meatballs were very soft and moist, the sauce is perfectly seasoned with chopped onions. I opted for the Italian cold cut with salt and pepper, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and banana peppers. The sub was packed with meat and flavor. The best Italian sub I have ever had. Just Okay..our gripe is that they advertise and pride themselves on generous toppings..but the subs we got were thin skimpy wimpy subs. My hubby and i tried 4 subs in total. The favorite of the pack being the chicken bomb and steak bomb (tasty peppers, barely any cheese, and slivers of meat, on a soft hoagie roll) ..the one that was a let down was the steak cheese sub (easy in theory but obviously hard to execute properly, this sub fell flat for us..it was skinny barely any cheese and bland) apparently this sub was the one that made them famous (lol maybe at a nursing home but not the general public). Our absolute least favorite that bordered on disgusting was the meatball sub (picture canned chef boyardee on a hoagie roll..yup bleecchh). The meatball sub is repulsive. All in All we highly doubt we will be back, the 2 stars is because the peppers on their "bomb" subs tasted fresh. read more

Ok so this is sadly my first disappointing experience at ANY Jon smith sub location. This location is clean and the food tastes great but the portion size is not normal to their chain. I ordered a 12" sub and it easily had the same amount of meat that the 6" subs have in the other stores of the chain. This is my second visit here and I thought the first time was a fluke so I decided to give it another shot. Sadly, I was disappointed once again. The location is clean, the staff is nice, the food is tasty, but they do not stack up to the other locations. I've probably eaten at other Jon smith locations 100+ times so it's not just in my head. Be weary or say something to the staff if you feel the same when ordering your sub. I posted a picture to show what I'm talking about. Both halves of the sub looked just like that. read more

Stumbled upon this place on accident and I'm glad I did. I have been looking for a sub place that makes a cheeseburger sub since the ones around me closed. This place has it and it's amazing! The food came out quick and it was made perfect. Great price also. They say the fries are better than five guys but I wouldn't go that far. They are good but not as good. When I ordered the grill master put raw sirloin steak on the grill and cooked it fresh with tomatos, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Did I mention that steak AND bacon are in this sub? Together??
