UPDATED: Normally I only write reviews to share the love. Today is different. This is my first time trying this place. I chose it because the review are amazing. I was told my food would be ready between 20-25 minutes. Ok cool. I showed up after 20 min and paid. I could see them still putting stuff in the bag I sat down to wait. After 10 min I was starting to get a little annoyed but I could see they were busy. Ok that's fine. After 10 more min (additional 20 min and 40 min total) I stood up and asked if I should come back. She looked me like I was a brand new person who had not been sitting there for 20 min and asked my number. The food had been sitting there READY! My husband had been waiting this whole time with my two little boys the whole time. She then asked me if I had paid. ‍ Although all of the above did happen, the food was bomb and all correct, so I'm upping my stars. read more

Very pleasantly surprised! I've settled for mediocre Chinese food in Cedar Rapids for too long. Tonight we decided to try Panda Lin to see what it was all about. My SO and I got beef & broccoli, pork lo mein, steamed dumplings, crab rangoon, and chicken fried rice. We ordered online for delivery (which is so convenient and awesome!) and it arrived in about 45 min. The food was really superb. Crab rangoon were crispy and flaky and flavorful. Lo Mein was oily in that delicious way. Dumplings were soft and savory. Beef and broccoli sauce was great and the broccoli was surprisingly fresh tasting! The rice is nothing to write home about, but not bad at all. Prices were fine. Entrees were about $6 each, so we ended up paying over $30 for two people, but there are plenty of left overs. Highly recommended! We'll be repeat customers for sure! read more

The dining room is very small as the restaurant is located in a nicely remodeled, old school gas station. You know the kind that had two pumps and a garage. That just adds to the charm of the joint. We were in the market for a new "favorite" Chinese restaurant. Multiple horrible experiences with local delivery and take out left me on a Chinese food strike. I absolutely love the food here. It's in the building where Sweetie Pies was, very small. I wouldn't go there for the ambiance...other then the amazing family that work and own this little Chinese haven. The food is definitely made with heart and it's noticeable. The taste is clean, not overly processes, overly saturated with sodium (don't get me wrong, I have a very close relationship with salt) to mask the flavor of this Chinese feast. Price wise...so much more reasonable then the majority of the areas little Chinese joints. The family here, oh how I have such admiration for them. Strong, hard working, ethical values which they are passing on to their two adorable kids who are often helping around the restaurant. I'd love to see this place succeed, this is the type of business that deserves it. An honest, hard working family making ends meet. read more

Been looking for better Chinese delivery. OMG I have found it. Ordered steamed dumplings, chicken egg rolls, crab Rangoon broccoli beef and sesame chicken and they were all top notch. Delivery was before the quoted time and everything was nice and hot. They even topped my order off with a box that said "Free". And when we opened it we found Chinese donuts!! They were fantastic. It was all simply some of the best Chinese delivery we have had in a very long time. Congrats to Panda Lin. We will be regulars as long as you keep serving us food of this quality. Friggin love it. I got delivery after a long weekend, and my food was delivered after about a half hour. I was given my food by a young girl, assumedly the daughter, and she was very friendly! I ordered chicken fried rice, spring rolls and eggs rolls (I couldn't decide). I had to bulk up since they don't deliver to orders under $15. My $15 got a quart of fried rice and 4 orders of each roll! The rice is delicious with a good proportion of rice, chicken, and veggies, the spring rolls crunchy and sweet, but the egg rolls weren't quite as good as the spring rolls, a little plain, but still good. Overall, they were fast, polite, reasonably priced, and delicious. Only negative would be that it's all pretty greasy, but that's not always so bad! I will definitely order here again. read more

NOT hard pucks Beef with Chinese mushrooms!!!!! What?!?! I've never seen Chinese mushrooms here in Cedar Rapids. Amazing, delicious, saucy, beefy meat and veggies!!!! White rice=this is what it should be everywhere. I would like to know why everywhere else sucks so much. I'm hooked. The prices are more than reasonable. I hope they don't but I think they could raise prices a bit. And just an extra little bonus=8 cookies stapled to my bag. And the usual of course-fortune cookies. Hands down, the BEST crab rangoons I've ever had, and I have eaten Chinese food many a time in Chinatown in both Chicago and STL. the wrappers they use for the rangoons are also the best I've ever eaten, so flaky and crispy and delicious, they must make them themselves! My meal was delicious as well, although the red pepper flakes really snuck up on me! My mom got steamed dumplings and an order of the wonton soup, she had a cold, and she said she immediately felt better! She loved them both. I should write reviews more often, especially as a fellow local restaurant owner, but this one made a big enough impression on us we had to take time to review! First time ordering & we did takeout. My husband picked up and said it felt very family owned which is something we love! Then I opened up the order and first thing I saw was a box of donuts labeled "free" on the top. Something we hadn't ordered but was put into our bag. What a nice gesture! Our twin 8 year olds were super excited to have them as dessert! I went to Panda Lin on a Wednesday afternoon, having never been there before I didn't know what to expect. What I found was a tiny little building with almost no parking lot. I walked in to what I assume was the Lin family spread out across a few of the tables. It looked like one of them was doing homework, and another looked like she was taking a nap. I didn't have a problem with that at all, it just added to the family atmosphere of the place. The service was fast, immediately a very friendly woman got up and took our order. I ordered a large serving of General Tso's chicken with white rice. They cooked it in under 10 minutes, and it smelled delicious the whole time. When they say large they mean it, they gave me a gigantic serving. And it was pretty cheap, which is always nice. As my friend, and I were eating our food the Lin family started bringing out food for their own dinner. They ate at the table next to us, and were very polite. They periodically asked if everything was ok, and if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this place, I wouldn't go and eat at the restaurant if you are in a party of more then a few people though. I've heard the delivery is fast, but I can't speak on it myself. Over all Panda Lin serves great food for a good price, and has a friendly family run environment. I will get food from here again. read more

I think they forgot my order after I went back in to check if it was ready, so a 10 minute wait turned into a 25 minute wait. When you are getting off work and just want to get a quick bite to eat, no one wants to be forgotten and kept waiting all of that time! The wings were huge, but overly battered and lacking seasoning. We have eaten here on multiple occasions and always been pleased. The general Taos chicken is slightly spicy and not sickly sweet like most other places in town. Their fried rice tastes different too, maybe has five spice seasoning in it? whatever it is is delicious. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick solo lunch. I was the only customer, but the restaurant was full of activity and energy from a brisk flow of take-out and delivery orders. I was greeted warmly as I walked in by both proprietors (husband/wife). The place is tiny, and had 5 tables total. The daughter/son occupied one table, and quickly moved to the kitchen area when I was seated. This is fresh local eating at its best, and is exactly the type of mom & pop (literally) establishment that I want to support. All of Cedar Rapids will want to give this place a try. It's a small building, off the beaten path, very clean, very charming. A young girl was my server (daughter of the owner?) and she was very sweet and polite. The best part of eating inside was listening to the sound of the constant orders being called in from customers, the chopping and cooking, and the friendly banter between the employees. This is a hard working group, and the sights and sounds of food being prepared was endearing. The food itself was cooked to order, arrived quickly, was piping hot and perfectly prepared. I ordered hot and sour soup, and I'm so glad I did. I'm sure I will crave it and likely will include it with all future orders. My lunch dish was garlic shrimp, sautéed with crisp veges, large shrimp, and served with fried rice and an eggroll. All very good, and too much to eat in one sitting (took about half home to have for dinner). Yes you should eat here. The only question remaining is take out, delivery or sit-down.
