Rude employees especially girls at drive thru. Never nice and always have attitude. They always act like you're a bother to them. Dirty restaurant and onions overwhelm chow mein. One visit, the drive thru person basically threw a bunch of soy sauce after us asking nicely for teriyaki sauce. One landed on ground and she just turned away. Overall, bad experience every time we go!! It's sad when customers are nicer than the employees!! I have a weakness for eating crappy food when my husband is on the road. Today was no exception. My daughter asked me to pick up some Chinese food from Panda Express for dinner. We shared orange chicken, broccoli beef, and eggplant tofu. Overall the food tasted fresh, but bland and uninspiring. At just over 7 bucks for the both of us, it was cheap. You really can't have high expectations for a fast food restaurant. I consider Panda superior than other fast food chains. No doubt about it, you have to try the Orange Chicken! It's sweet and tad bit spicy, but enough to hit the spot. I also like their Mushroom Chicken and Beijing Beef. I also love their Cream Cheese Rangoons with their Sweet N Sour sauce. It's heaven! The staff has always been friendly and professional. The restaurant itself is always nice and clean. Kudos to the crew! If you want something fast and different, go to Panda. First problem, the name. Panda Express. Express? Waiting over 25 minutes to get chow mein is Express? Second, the value. . . which there isn't any. You wont value anything about this place when you walk into an empty restaurant (drive thru was packed though) and get a group of untrained girls working the counter who practically have zero idea of customer service. So I ask if I can get chow mein instead of that old scooped over fried rice and since they were out except some scraps I was told it would be 5 minutes. I said sure, no problem and finished ordering and paid the bill. We sit down and all of the sudden the flash mob shows up. 10 Minutes in, I'm getting concerned why it's taking longer than it should since, you know. . . chow mein seems to be a main side dish in this place?! 15 minutes in, I go to the counter and ask about why the delay. (everyone else is getting chow mein!) Well this turns out to be because the grilled teriyaki chicken that was there when we ordered now has been all served up. I'm told there will be a wait for the chicken now. . . yeah thanks alot for saving us some! I sit back down and discuss with the wife, pissed off from the service and the waste of time I've sat and watched the mob eventually leave completely. 27 minutes in, I walk back up, ready to get a refund and magically she walks back with a bowl of chicken (after casually shooting the shit with the cook) and starts filling another customers box. At this point, I can't handle it anymore, "MAM WE'VE BEEN WAITING....!" And I say nothing else. . . .she doesn't even look up, but quickly changes to our boxes. "Thank you for your patience" I was told. . . WOW! the nerve some people have. They wasted my time for waiting and also writing this needed yelp review. For a Panda Express, this restaurant does a great job. When my family and I go up to Shasta Lake, we always make sure to stop and grab food here because it's the best one we've ever been to. Just today, I had the Super Greens and the Broccoli Beef. It just so happened that they had just whipped up a batch of the broccoli beef and boy, was it good! Food was actually pretty good but this is the third time I went through the Drive through in about six weeks and every time they got my order wrong. This last time it really kind of made me upset because I ordered a large drink which Was only filled up to within about an inch and a half from the top. I think if they could figure out how to train the employees a little better and maybe add something to their computer ordering stations that would help them put notes in the order or something to let the person that is actually filling the order know if they are supposed to not put on teriyaki sauce or add sweet-and-sour sauce any deviation from the normal entrée seems to be a problem.... I think if they could get the orders right and someone had to realize that the Coke glass was not completely filled but for some reason put a lid on it and send it out to the customer (me) Very slow drive up! I come here fairly often as its one of the only fast chinese food joints.... Not too bad most of the time, but it does depend on the time of day as to how fresh the food is. The service is mostly good, but has had a few major issues. On one visit, we ordered a few items that were empty, so we waited a few minutes for them to fry it up fresh, quite gladly. However, they had already given us the egg rolls we requested, which were already ice cold and soggy. After hemming and hawing about it, I brought the rolls back up and asked that we get fresh ones with our meal. I then watched the employee take our egg rolls and dump them back into the case! After they sat on my table for a few minutes! I could have unloaded a veritable menagerie of bodily fluids onto them for all he knew!! Wow..... Great food, I had Mushroom Chicken, mixed vegetables and pot stickers. The Mushroom Chicken was exceptional and I ordered some sweet and sour sauce on the side (mmm, the best I have ever had) . The plate portion was quite large and I was able to make 2 meals out of it! Friendly courteous staff. I would give a 5 star review, but I was disappointed by the preparation of my online order. When ordering online you are able to give special instructions such as which sauces you would like. My special instructions included to cook the vegetables till they were soft. When I arrived for my order the server began serving my food from the ready made foods. The veggies looked delicious but were crunchy. I pointed that out to my server who quickly had the veggies cooked more to my liking. They turned out perfect, but they should have read my special instructions and had my food ready on time. I should add that they took care of my complaint in a friendly caring manner. I am a fan and will be back. read more

Man we love THIS Panda!!! Panda is my husband's absolute favorite place to eat so when we get the opportunity to eat out, we grab us some Panda. With that said we have tried many locations and none have come close to this location! The staff are super friendly and helpful, the restaurant is clean (tables and chairs), the bathrooms are well kept, and the managers actually smile and interact with their employees. I've noticed on a previous trip the manager wiping tables as his staff were super busy accommodating customers. That is a sign of a great manager, not afraid to get his hands dirty :) We just left after being served by Daniel who put our plates together and Candy on the register. Both of these employees were incredibly nice and really made this review a 5 Star! Daniel even went out of his way to honor my crazy request of having more meat than veggies for one's of my sides. I haven't had panda Express in years. Decided to give them another try. Boy was I disappointed. I would like to say they were extremely busy due to the carnival. We ordered walnut shrimp, fried rice, egg rolls, cream cheese rangoon and diet cokes. Was told they were out of diet coke so we got dr. Pepper instead. Not a big deal. Everything smelled good on the drive home. Upon passing out food realized we didn't get 2 egg rolls. (I did check before leaving and the way it was packed it looked like there was 2) Ok, moving on, the rangoons were raw on one side and burnt on the other. Fried rice was tasteless and undercooked. I'm talking crunchy. The walnut shrimp was the best out of all items ordered. Was lacking in the walnut department though. One sweet and sour no silverware napkins or soy sauce. If I would have rated this location about 8 months ago I probably would have given it 2 stars. Decided to give it another go. First time drive thru line was long and super slow. Ordered family meal and extra sides. They forgot the large side order of walnut shrimp which was super disappointing because it was pretty expensive to add large side of it and our family was excited to get it when we got home. Anyhow, this last trip the drive thru was still slow but a little faster than last trip. They got order right this time which was huge (they didn't forget the walnut shrimp)! The food tasted good. Today I came in around 7pm, there was a lady in front of me that had to wait a little because she ordered an extra side that was being cooked up fresh due to it running out. She's was horribly rude to the worker that was serving her. I've been to many Panda Express' and I have to say by far this was the worst experience I've ever had. I went through the drive-thru for the first time and I got a plate, which is two entrees and a side, I ordered orange chicken, broccoli beef, and chow mein. There was no orange chicken, the broccoli was undercooked, the beef was bland, and the chow mein was so short I couldn't even use a fork to eat it. Thanks. Came in last night 40 minutes before closing. They were out of pretty much everything besides honey walnut shrimp and orange chicken. When we asked how long for more stuff to come out the girl told us they weren't making any more food that night...we decided to just take some honey walnut shrimp. She let us know that it was spicy. Since when is honey walnut shrimp spicy?! The restaurant was filthy. There was food strewn all over into the other bowls. Nasty food,nasty service. Most of the restaurant staff needs an attitude adjustment. They seem to lack the desire to work but will pay more attention to goofing off with each other instead of focusing on the customer. There is usually never enough food that is cooked, so the wait time is extreme with a high probability that you won't get the food you wanted anyways. This could be because the staff is just too lazy to cook the food. I love Panda Express, but refuse to go back to the Panda Express in Redding. read more

When you are tired of cold sandwiches or pizza Panda Express is bascially a good choice. The service is always fast and products are pretty much the same everywhere. I gave this place 2 star because when it came to me to order they ran out of chow mein and told me that I have to wait 10minutes or go for rice or mixed veggie. I wish I had read the reviews, I would have gone somewhere else. I arrived just before the noon rush and there were very few people there. I ordered a bowl with chow mein and the special beef and shrimp that's being advertised on TV... I was told the beef and shrimp was $1.25 extra -- shouldn't there have been a sign? Very annoying. I ordered it anyway and got my food, including an order of cheese rangoons. The place seemed clean and I had no problem finding a clean place to sit. While I was eating the place filled up, making me think: Wow, this is a very popular place. But that might just be because of the location, or maybe Redding has enough people with low standards to keep this place in business. My food was cold and greasy. I would have sent it back, but the place had filled up and I doubted I would get anything better, also the food tasted okay (not great, but not bad other than being cold) and I was starving. I did go online later in the day and take their survey. I have experience in manufacturing and marketing, including the restaurant industry, and I used train business owners and their employees in customer service. Smart businesses use surveys to glean honest information from customers so that the business can improve sales by improving processes. I don't see how the Panda Express survey questions would have any real value to them. It just seems to be designed to get people back by offering an entree with the purchase of a 2-entree plate, and frankly, If I have to buy a 2-entree plate to get the free entree it's just not worth trying them again. Why would I want 3 cold greasy entrees? Bottom Line: Confusing Menu as to pricing. Cold and greasy food. Plenty of other restaurants to eat at. No reason to return -- even for a semi-free entree. read more

Staff are always nice here. The food is good for a Chinese fast food restaurant. They have a new item on the menu about every month or two, which is usually pretty tasty. The classic orange chicken is delicious. They now offer white or brown rice. Some of my favorites are the Beijing beef, grilled teriyaki chicken, string bean chicken, or the sweet fire chicken breast.
