We came here for the first time in the Redding town after a long day trip. We were looking for some Chinese food near our hotel area and we found new China too and came here for the first time We arrived around 8 PM. The restaurant closes 9 PM and we were lucky enough to reach before that as we entered. The ambience was amazing. The hotel was quite big enough and the sitting area was also very pretty. Me and my daughter and my husband selected up place. We ordered a dinner plate unknowing of the fact both the quantity of the food and as we were hungry enough so we ordered one plate of kung pao chicken, which comes with egg drop soup and one egg roll along with a plate of half chicken needles, half pork fried rice or boiled rice, optional along with the compound chicken and we ordered another plate of sweet-and-sour chicken along with the same combination of fried rice or white rice and half chicken noodles along with a soup and one roll and my daughter ordered a plate of chicken noodle noodles. The food was served within five minutes and seeing the quantity we got scared because it was huge. I would recommend you if you are with a kid or if you are three people please go for two plates as it's really huge amount of quantity we couldn't finish it at all. The restaurant is immaculately clean and cheerful. The dining area is well lit. The service was very friendly and respectful, not at all pushy, but very polite, patient and comfortable. Our server was very careful to make sure our orders were correct and included everything we wanted. The flatware, plates and glasses were spotless and sparkling. Each course of our order was served on time and correctly, with all the food appearing and tasting freshly made. The hot and sour soup was the best we have had in many years here in Redding. The egg rolls were simple yet tasty. The pot stickers and sauce had amazing flavor and were perfectly done. The main dishes were excellent, with excellent flavor throughout. This review is based off of my own personal experience. As always personal experiences will vary from patron to patron. Just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean the next person will. With that said, here we go. Sept 2, 2025 I was in town visiting a friend of mine for a few days and before heading out I wanted to see if she wanted grab lunch before I make the 7.5hr trek back to Los Angeles. She had gotten a menu in the mail for new china two and I began to skim through its contents. With the many dishes listed my interest had peaked and decided that I wanted to give this place a try before leaving town. Once ready me and my friend had arrived 50 mins after new china two had opened for lunch.. Once inside, we were quickly greeted and seated in a booth. The atmosphere was very soothing and calming as it wasn't busy as it had just opened. The decor was beautiful and well placed. The colors weren't overpowering nor loud like in other restaurants. The atmosphere was great, even with the hustle and bustle of the kitchen sounds (we were seated near the kitchen and honestly it wasn't even that much of a bother) Staff is friendly and welcoming. They are quick and attentive and at times may even be a little to much attentive to you but that's ok. It's not they were busy and packed. Nonetheless we placed our orders and did not long. I want to say that waited roughly less than 20 mins. I'm not 100percent sure but it really did not take that long between order and arrival. I went with my usual go to plate which always Orang Chicken and pork fried rice, I even added some shrimp which was extra. My friend enjoyed her beef and brócoli. We had gone with the lunch special which also includes soup and egg roles. From beginning to end everything was absolutely delicious. The orange flavored chicken was very tasty and it did not hardened or become overbearing with its orange sauce. The breading was delicious and cooked right. This is how you would want your orange chicken to taste and look. Overall I would recommend New China Two for anyone who appreciates Chinese food and I would also suggest going right after they open for lunch. I would also recommend this place for family dinners also. Their menu is extensive and offers allot of different varieties and spice levels. Finally the best part. Even with their packed menu items pricing is very reasonable and won't break you in the wallet. I suggest going for the special if it's just yourself and three other friends. As a family or group outing always split that check LOL. The next time I visit again I'm most certainly am going to make sure I eat here before I head back home. read more

My husband and I each got one of the dinner combinations. I got Mongolian beef and he got sweet and sour pork. For less than 15$ we got a HUGE serving of our choice of meat, pork fried rice, chow melin, egg drop soup and even an egg roll! The servings were seriously so big! With big servings and cheap prices you expect the food to not taste as good... not here! It was SO yummy!!!!! We ate and ate and ate and STILL had to take home a bunch of food! Can't believe my wife and I actually FOUND a Great Chinese food place that's actually worth eating at. When we used to live in Redding back in 2012 to 2014 we enjoyed Chinese Grand Buffet. However, we were there 3 months ago and let me tell you they are definitely not worth it anymore. The difference between that place and New China Two, is that place is buffet and this place makes the food nice and fresh. So when we walked into this place first thing we noticed right off the bat was the cleanliness of the restaurant and how peaceful the atmosphere was. We ordered the Crab Rangoons and wow, we were served those in like less than 5 minutes. They were hot, fresh and the sweet n sour sauce was on point. The customer service was also on point. My wife ordered General Tsaos and I ordered the Chicken And Mushrooms. My wife's General Tsaos was delicious and while I don't like boiled chicken, my food was nice and hot. Horrible. Was not edible, was first time in a LONG time that I threw my whole plate in the trash. Will not be returning. Ordered general chicken combo plate. First off, I love the ambiance and layout of this place. The food? Fantastic. The pork fried rice is absolutely rave-worthy. Even days later from the fridge, it's still moist and flavorful....no weird, dried-out texture. The sesame chicken and chow mein are also delicious, and they hold up just as well for leftovers. Portions are huge, the service is warm and courteous, and even when you're just picking up takeout, they offer you water while you wait. That level of thoughtfulness makes a big difference. We stopped in on a bike ride at an off time...the place was empty. I've noticed a full parking lot many a time. It's a really nice dining area, relaxing and bright. Great menu and if you don't know what something is, they have pictures. LOL! Fast friendly service and the food was excellent. One of the things I really enjoy about the Churn Creek location is the atmosphere. The décor is tasteful and creates a very welcoming, aesthetically pleasing environment the moment you walk in. I've tried several dishes here and overall the food has been consistently good. Their soups, in particular, have always been satisfying, and the egg rolls are excellent. I've also sampled a couple of main entrées, which were enjoyable. The one area I've been slightly disappointed in is the barbecued pork--it tends to taste less fresh than I would hope. That said, I plan to try it again before forming a final opinion. Customer service has been consistently attentive and friendly, which adds to the positive dining experience. Tonight we tried New China Two, one of two locations in the Redding area. I'm gonna Segway for a bit and say, since my family and I relocated to Redding 8 months ago we've been very excited about trying new food spots, preferably local mom and pops in the area and New China Two has really pushed the bar high for me personally. I'll say that their service is exceptional!! Top notch! You feel very appreciated as a paying customer and besides that they seem to carry a sense of pride for the food they serve and for good reason, it was incredible! And I couldn't believe the price for what we received. We pay more for a family of four for some local fast food chains than we did for New China and the food was far superior. The family and are pretty excited to have had this and it's right around the corner from home, which means take out! You design peeps will enjoy a very China inspired decor which was pretty cool with calming Chinese music in the background, great ambience! All in all, everything was better then expected and I highly recommend New China two, even if you're traveling along I-5 and you get the Chinese food craving, do you're self a solid and swing by and give em a try! We've tried New China before at their other location across town, but this was much closer to our home. The inside of the restaurant was nice and clean and very spacious. The service was great, everyone was attentive and offered us regular drink refills. My boyfriend got the General Tso's chicken with fried rice and it was okay. I'm not huge on that dish, but the serving was huge and there was more chicken than breading which was nice! I got the Mongolian beef with white rice and it was sooo tender. It had that nice smokiness you can only get from high heat, and the sauce was peppery which paired well with the sweet onions! The lunch specials come with a small bowl of soup and a spring roll. I was really excited about the chow fun, I Iove wide rice noodles and it looked great! The meats were tender, but the noodles didn't really have much flavor unfortunately. The noodles had a great bouncy texture to it, but it tasted like it wasn't really that well seasoned. Maybe next time will be better! Overall we had a nice experience at this location. I went to this New China Two location last night and ordered some potstickers, and the kung pao chicken dinner entree. Not only did they bring me enough food to last for 3 days, the chow mein was the best I've ever had. It was so flavorful and it wasn't dry. The ambiance was nice. The restaurant was very clean. But the real star of the show was the server. I go out to eat more than the average person and he was by far the most attentive server I've had in quite some time. The service was excellent!
