Chinatown has become our go-to place for Chinese food. My wife loves the chicken chop suey and I'm hooked on the chicken chow mein, but everything we've tried has been delicious. The mu shu pork featured very fresh vegetables, but what seemed to be BBQ pork, so a little dry. I ordered Szechuan chicken, and was asked whether I wanted it deep fried or stir fried. I've never heard of stir fried Szechuan chicken, so ordered it. It seemed to be what I've been served before as Mandarin chicken, but it was good. In any case, we enjoyed our visit. We always liked Jade Garden... with that being said we decided to give this new place a try and had take out last night.... it was ok, not great. Our 4 main dishes had fairly good flavor. The rice was a little bland and the chow mien was heavy. The egg rolls were good but small and we ordered fried wontons and got krad/cream cheese wontons instead. We wish the take out meals came with soup like other Chinese restaurants do along with fresh mustard and sweet and sour sauce rather than packets. We realize that this is a new place and kinks need to be worked out... will give it another try in the future... hopefully it will be a 5 re-review! This was our go-to for Chinese food since they opened. We were so disappointed today when we ordered our usual (family dinner for 4) and found that everything was different. It was horrible!! The almond chicken used to be my favorite but this time it was like it has a brown gravy on it instead of the usual sauce. The chow main noodles had an odd sauce, the shrimp looked like they came from Costco, the sweet and sour sauce was super thin and had a tomato flavor to it. Not to mention that the brandy chicken had melted the Styrofoam container. I really hope that this is a one time thing. This was the best Chinese food I've had in quite a while! This place came recommended to me from an Anderson native, and I was very pleased with it. We had the fried rice, chow main, orange chicken, kung pao chicken, and won ton soup. All were absolutely delicious and some of the best Chinese food I've had this far North in California by far. The restaurant is a little confusing with it's Italian decor (which I hear is left over from the previous restaurant, but that's no biggie and is mildly entertaining. This place is absolutely amazing!!! Our server was fast and very polite, the food didn't take long and was outstanding the pork fried rice is the best I have ever had sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein and potstickers were all outstanding as well. This restaurant is one of the cleanest I have seen around the redding area. We will defiantly be returning and recommending this amazing local business to our friends and family. Absolutely the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten in my entire life. Tried it for the first time two weeks ago and it will be the last time. Spent $60 dollars on an order to be picked up. I arrived and pulled up in front and what a surprise there wasn't a single patron in the establishment. Happy to get my food I head home where I've got company all craving Chinese food. There were 4 of us all together and not a single person had a good word to say about the food. None of us ate more then a few bites and the entire meal all 6 containers went into the trash.
