My wife and I came here for dinner and really enjoyed it. I had the Pad Thai and thought it was excellent. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the flavor was really well balanced. My wife ordered the Nam Kho and loved it too. We also got the sweet and spicy wings, which were honestly one of our favorite parts of the meal. The Thai iced teas were great as well. The service really stood out. The woman helping us was very friendly and even brought us a sample of the basil Thai fried rice to try, which ended up being really good too. That was a nice touch and made the experience feel welcoming. Food came out quickly, the atmosphere was relaxed, and overall it was a great dinner spot. We'll definitely come back. We were very disappointed with our meal. The mango salad which was $27.95 was 80% rice and did not contain any fresh mango it was very salty and terrible actually. The garlic noodle with beef was way too salty and contain 3 tiny pieces of beef I was shock at how tiny the potion was for $22.95. Then the nam khao was almost all rice with only a tiny bit of other ingredients it was so disappointing 70 dollars for a little bit of rice and noodles. There are many excellent Thai restaurants in town just wanted to try something new. The soup by itself is good but with the rice noodle it falls a bit flat. There was a decent amount of noodle and duck but the duck pieces were pretty small. I might have liked it better if there were bigger slices. Mango sticky rice - some of the rice was a bit hard and I wasn't a fan of the hard yellow topping as it gets stuck in my teeth but I think that topping may be the more traditional dish. The mango wasn't super sweet but it still tasted good. Honestly after reading some reviews I was worried I'd be walking into an empty restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised to see some customers and it also seems they had some regulars coming in to pick up orders. Service was great, the food came out quick. The added chicken sample boosted the service rating as well since that was a cute surprise. Food was ok! But they overcharged my friends and me when we went there for a later lunch on the way to Mount Shasta, and the lady was really nice. She didn't give the bill on the table; we didn't pay at the cashier, and we forgot about it. Then, when we went back, we stopped by again for lunch, and she overcharged again. We didn't ask for the receipt on the card. My friend checked her bank account and went online to check the prices and reviews, and a lot of people complained about the overcharging. I went to my bank account; I paid $39.something for one Pad Thai of $17.95. I gave a 20% tip plus tax, and the second time I ate sticky rice for $15 and iced coffee for $7, plus another 20% tip and tax. She charged $39 something too, and all my 6 friends were the same! Took us a while to be given any water or asked for drinks, didn't get any refill. Had to ask for veggie plate for pho. We ordered a side of rice we didn't receive. Other newly seated customers were served before we did. Food was bland. We ordered yellow curry and pho. Yellow curry was $16 bucks and it was so small. Taste was sweet. No spice. Pho was small for $18. Compare that to Thai huts small pho beef combo with more meet and better taste for less than that. Pho was comparable to powder based pho broth. We went to try the food here out because they are new in town. Saw the three star rating but still decided to give them a taste try. The rating is accurate! The setting of the store is roomy, nice lighting. However food was over powered by a lime taste. Over priced for the money we paid. I feel that they should just put the lime on the side so customers can adjust it would be better. My nam yum mamuang only tasted like lime. It was suppose to be deep fried rice with mango so I was expecting sweet and flavored nam rice, however it was super wet, a little sweet and spicy then straight up lime. Super sour. It was a taste I couldn't do because it was just tooo sour. Usually nam plates come with a side of lettuce to help with the taste. I only got a few cucumbers. Dish tasted like someone fried my rice, washed it and put lime on top to make it unnoticeable. The Thai boat was also super lime... and sour. even adding hoisin sauce and pepper didn't help with undoing the lime taste. Again the lime should have been optional, left on the side for customers to adjust. Also they added the bean sprouts and I feel not everyone like the taste of bean sprouts so would have been nice if we can have it on the side as well. the only reason why I gave two stars was the curry. It was very delicious. If we ever come back we probably come for the curry, it was not sour or lime out! Taste was perfect. I also feel like the service was bad. Waitress didn't even come ask if we wanted water refills, didn't check up on us. Mind the food being super sour we needed a lot of water to help with the lemon taste!!! The lady came and handed us our tab and said come pay at the register. Even seeing that we didn't even finish the food she didn't ask if we wanted to go boxes or anything. Cucumber salad was good, cucumbers tasted fresh and light - not mushy, complimented the curry a lot due to the contrast in flavors and textures. Curry was mildly spicy but really good. I've had a lot of Thai food growing up and Thai Curry is, in my opinion, a staple and the curry here was done well. The most authentic and flavorful Thai food in shasta county. The chef puts so much love, care and presentation into all their dishes. They have a unique flavor profile that is different than the other Thai restaurants in town. I notice how they cook with detail and precision- making their meat flavorful but soft and tender. Their quality of meat is much higher than the other Thai restaurants who often have low quality meats and over cook their meats making them hard and dry- but not this place! They really put a lot of effort into their cooking. Their soups are absolutely delicious and super flavorful, mouthwatering. I got the Ka Soy and it was soo good. Flavor profile was different than other Thai Ka soy but that's what made it unique and flavorful. I also recommend the Ka poon it's more like curry. And the Guay Tio Nam Sai soup- WOW! Chef specialty that really has so much unique flavor and so comforting to eat. Pad Thai is awesome and noodles cooked to perfection, flavor balanced. So are the fresh spring rolls, they were huge and best ones I had in town. Huge menu and There are a lot of good mid range items for $18, you just have to take the time to look. They have some higher quality more expensive items too. Also the service their is A+. The waiter is so loving and caring about the people who come in and she also gives us a memorable, friendly and caring experience. She even hand made us fresh springs rolls that are not on the menu, and made them huge with a delicious sauce. She also presented it very nicely That's just an example of her thoughtfulness and willingness to go the extra mile. So I only got three items. And it came out to 70$. I have eaten Thai food in over 12 different states and was never charged this amount. The fact the owner is replying to yelp reviews being unprofessional speaks volumes in itself. It was overpriced, bland, and small portions. Learn from your customer's criticism. I was really excited to try a new restaurant, always looking for a good Thai spot. I was following their Facebook for about a week or two before they opened, and the food pictured looked really good and similar to what I grew up eating in Thailand. The service was fine, everyone was nice and polite. The inside of the building looks good too, it had a nice amount of seats. However, the food was not impressive. I tried going two times and unfortunately I could not justify the price I was paying for the quality and amount of food I received. For two Thai iced coffees and one order of pad see ew, it was $42. We wanted to give it a second chance and ordered the gai yang and Lao style papaya salad since we figured they were still new, but it is not worth going back for. Just the chicken and papaya salad was $38 and it did not include rice. 1. The Thai iced coffee was not creamy, it was like it had just a splash of milk. 2. The pad see ew was just okay. You can see that the noodles did not keep their shape well at all and it was very greasy. I appreciate that they finished the dish off with white pepper, but the execution was bad. It did not have any of the smokiness that you expect from the dish. The heat was not high enough for the noodles resulting in a greasy dish and broken up noodles. 3. The Lao style papaya salad was just okay as well. I got spice level 2 because I wasn't sure what their definition of spicy was, but it didn't really have much of a kick. It tasted more sweet and lacked the salty and sour profile. I unfortunately forgot to get a picture of it. 4. The gai yang was a complete disappointment. I have been going back and forth between the states and Isan region of Thailand since I was a baby, and this absolutely does not represent the dish at all. Gai yang is supposed to be very tender and savory. The chicken was dry, burnt, and it looks like it wasn't even marinaded in the correct spices. The chicken looked like it was in the same yellow marinade that would be used for satays, and even then the burnt meat takes away from whatever flavor profile it could have. I wish I took a picture of it but I assure you that it is not worth your money. I do not see myself returning to this restaurant. I do love supporting local, especially if it involves my own culture.
