We gave Rose Garden two chances and were really hoping for improvement, but unfortunately the second visit wasn't any better. We ordered the Basil Eggplant both times, and both times there was barely any eggplant. The dish was mostly peppers and onions, which was disappointing--if I'm paying for an eggplant dish, I expect a good amount of eggplant. Our second dish was the Pad Thai with tofu, and it had a similar issue. There was very little tofu, and an excessive amount of peanuts completely covering the top of the dish. The one positive was the cashew chicken, which was cooked well and had a nice flavor. That dish is the only reason this review isn't lower. We also ordered side rice, which came in very small containers and was dried out and unappetizing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place and would suggest looking elsewhere for this type of food read more

The neighborhood was a little questionable, but upon entering it was very clean and a nice feel. We were seated quickly, there were pictures of all the menu items on the TV's on the walls the fresh rolls were excellent, we all (4 of us) ordered something different and it was delicious. Had a bad experience here. I really wanted to like this place, but I've had it. The servers are great, it's the management that has me worried. My chicken entree was way overcooked. I couldn't get my fork into most of the pieces. We ate a little less than half the chicken maybe. We were told it would be remade and I suggested half the amount would also suffice. They took the chicken dish shown in the picture to the back and brought it back saying they wouldn't remake it because over half was missing? It wasn't true but also wtf? There was never an offer to talk to management which is unprofessional. So they ended giving me just $2 off an entree we could only eat a bit of. I was ripped off. We have a lot of friends who will be hearing about the treatment we received. read more

Terrible service and unprofessional behavior! This place claims to close at 9 PM, but when we tried calling around 8:15 PM to place an order, it went straight to voicemail, clearly, they're dodging orders. We showed up in person between 8:30-8:40 PM to order fried rice, only to be told they're not taking orders. What?! Your closing time is 9 PM, and you're shutting down early, refusing customers? That's awful business practice. As a businesses owner and a passionate cook who's been making dishes like phat phrik khing for years, I'm beyond disappointed. I was a loyal regular, but they've lost my business for good. I'll be making my own khao pad from now on, thanks for pushing me to stick with home-cooked meals. Everything I've had Rose Garden Pho, Pad Thai Combo, Lao Sausage, and other entrees on there menu are always served HOT AND FRESH. So some of the negative Reviews are puzzling to me. A great experience here, and everything my party got was delicious. The yellow curry was so comforting and the green curry was wonderfully fragrant. We shared a large wonton soup and it came in a massive bowl, with a lovely broth - I can see it being the best cure to a cold. All the prices were more than fair, especially considering the generous portions. The servers were attentive and kind. Service was good checked in on us a few times and brought us extra lettuce. Portion sizes are pretty huge!! Ordered three items the large Khaosoy- it was good but felt it was missing something but luckily you they give you the caduceus so you can spruce it up. I used to be a regular (2-3 times a week at least) until the new owners took over and started changing things. First my beloved rose salad which in my opinion used to be the best thing on the menu, then they started forgetting components like cilantro or cucumber. No big deal until when I asked one of the wait staff they literally brought it out in their hand. No plate nothing.. gross. Still I tried giving this place a chance then the lettuce of the rose salad which was an integral part to make a lettuce wrap was changed but they quickly changed it back after complaining. Then recently they changed the delicious cilantro sauce to some bland green liquid and that was the final straw with my beloved rose salad and I've almost completely stopped coming to the restaurant after being a loyal and frequent customer. Tonight I tried the beef pho which too they had changed much more star anise almost inedible. I only have one other dish that I eat at Rose Garden and if they mess with that one I doubt I'll be back. Food was delicious, service was amazing. We make sure to stop by here whenever we are passing the area and it never disappoints.

I was headed over to a friend's house and was going to bring dinner. I decided to get Thai food to go from Rose Garden. I heard the food was good and was not disappointed. I ordered Larb Chicken, Pad Woon Sen noodles with shrimp added, Yum Woon Sen noodle salad, Pad Kee Mao or Drunken Noodles and for appetizer the Angel Wings, stuffed boneless wings stuffed with spices pork and some veggies. There were 3 for dinner do I think this ought to be enough. I picked up the food no prob and when I arrived at my friend's, we replated all the food on real plates. Who wants to have a nice dinner outta to go containers! All the food was good and the hot foods still hot. The salads had a nice limey kick to them and the Basil Noodles were cooked properly. The real star were the Angel Wings. Wow, how they make these I'll never know, deboning the wing without tearing up the skin and wing and then stuffing and deep frying. Gotta get these if you go here. I'll say all the food we tried was cooked perfect and I'll go back here again, maybe dine in and be served! read more

We stopped by after a weekend at Lake Shasta on a houseboat...The restaurant is owned by a Mienh family that has relations tied to the family. We ordered almost everything on the menu (not quiet, but felt like we did). We ordered the papaya salad (Lao style), Khao Soy (Large), Khao Poon, Pad Quail and a couple of other dishes. The papaya salad was on point, but the Khao Soy wasn't pleasing to my taste. We should have ordered the Lao Sausage and beef Larb. Perhaps during the next visit. All in all, the dishes were good. The "Large" Khao Soy was pretty BBIIGG. I'll ordered a smaller bowl next time. Since they know the family, the service was excellent! Thanks for the attention and continous water refill. Such good Thai food! I am originally from the Bay Area where food is superior over there. Since moving to redding I have yet to find a place with good pad see ew and this place was amazing. I order through doordash and it was still hot. Portions we're perfect for me. They even packed up some hoisin sauce,chili oil, Sriracha, soy sauce. Basically everything you need to make it taste even better. Definitely will be coming back soon. Can't wait to try more food. read more

This was my first time EVER trying Thai food and I was not disappointed! The mango sticky rice was the star of the show. The mango and coconut sauce just work so well with the sticky rice. Definitely my new favorite dessert! The Angel Wings were so unique and delicious. The chicken was moist. The noodles stuffed inside and the dipping sauce really made this dish amazing. The papaya salad was both yummy and healthy tasting, but also spicy! This place went down hell! Don't get me wrong. Cheapest place to eat but food and service is a 0 star. Last week, we order kasoy and our noodle were old and soggy. Today, we Waited over 1 hour for our noodles (Different kind of noodles) just to find out they gave our order to someone else! So we had to cancel everything. I ordered a Thai iced team. For appetizer their coconut shrimp, it was delish. I didn't like the sauce though. It was too much sweetness with the coconut shrimp. It tasted like a pineapple sauce. Came in, ordered appetizers and entrees to go. Appetizers came in less than 10 minutes. A large crowd 10 or more people showed up as well as two other tables they ordered and got their food while we waited another 35 minutes. The waiter forgot why we were there, asked and I said we are waiting for the rest of our meal to go, he then told us it would be another 15 minutes. Finally got the food , went home and ate, it was mediocre at best. We've had lunches and dinners there alot over the last 8 years. Not sure what happened to the service or the quality. I ordered a Pad Thai and Beef Pho Bowl and Rose Garden had it ready under 20 minutes. The worker was kind and the restaurant was not too busy for a Sunday night. The portion sizes were great for the price, I only paid $20 total! However, the Pad Thai noodles were chopped up which I found interesting and they were a bit over cooked which made them a tad soggy. The Beef Pho Bowl was alright, but in my opinion I found the beef and noodles tasting cheap. I did pay only $9 for the bowl. Overall, it was a nice try. I've made Rose Garden a pretty regular stop at lunch due to its proximity to where I work. I've been guilty of too often sticking with my favorite: Yellow Chicken, Hot on the spice scale with steamed rice. They do it justice. But I've pushed myself to try their pad-see-ew, red curry duck, and most recently their Pete's Special. This concoction of sliced beef, peppers, onions, tomato and garlic stir fried is really something special. The portion size is generous enough to forgo the rice choices, but I typically do get the steamed rice. We've had the Thai chicken wings, garlic catfish, pad-thai, egg rolls, drunken noodles... It's all been very good. Lunchtime during the work week can be pretty busy, so don't expect a lot of dialogue with the wait staff during those periods! read more

Great food. Authentic and full of the right flavors for each dish I've had. We've gone here for years now, and although you can tell when it's a different cook, for Thai food, they are miles above anything else you can get in this town. I appreciate that the servings are big enough for me and my daughter to eat twice if not more, and they don't charge outrageous prices either. Well done! read more

BEWARE of takeout. My experience is that portions are smaller than what you get eating in house. I ordered curry that had 1piece of eggplant in it, almost no vegetables, and little "broth".
