The food is usually hit or miss at this location. Tonight my chow Mein was burnt and literally had a cigarette flavor to it. DISGUSTING!!

It's also nice to go to a restaurant, with your family, and you can actually hear each other talk and enjoy each others company, rather than trying to yell over some loud music playing. This has been one of my favorite local restaurants to visit for appx 8 years, mostly due to not…read moreusing MSG in their food. Admittedly though, it has been a while since I was in last. Their food was good for most part, but I definitely noticed some changes: the pork fried rice was a bit on the dry side & sadly, the hot & sour soup was mild- hot only by temperature & not sour at all. The sweet & sour chicken was good, with the breading being of light & crunchy texture with good flavor & the chicken within being all white chicken! I asked for a side of additional sauce, as the sauce on the chicken served flows to the bottom & is hard to get to for dipping. My Kung Pao included some chunks of fresh zucchini & good sized chunks of dark meat chicken along with just the right amount of large peanuts in a brown sauce, but too mild & lacking of spice (peppers type) heat. The fried shrimp was very good & I appreciated the allowed substitution. The complimentary tea was also greatly appreciated. There was plenty of food served, allowing for left overs. Service was excellent as is customary there! The ambiance is comfortable & hasn't changed thru the years of which I've been dining there. If a food item is listed as spicy on the menu, it should be as such in my opinion, therefore I'm really wanting to give 3.5 stars, as the food has become much more milder than what I've ever tasted before, sadly.

What i got was soggy fat noddles that had no taste and a horrible texture piled at the bottom of the toppings. I went back in after wanting to eat some while in my car before leaving to enjoy it with my friend and grandmother to explain their mistake, and the first woman did not speak english and disappeared into the back. Out popped an irritated older woman whom I showed what I ordered on my phone and told her verbally, and she told me she gave me what I ordered. I showed her these are not Chow Mein noodles, and I don't understand how that could possibly be what I had ordered. It wasn't, she just didn't want to deal with it. She just disappeared into the back after telling me no refund and refusing to listen to my fair explanation. Had to go to safeway and make Chow Mein noodles myself, took 20 minutes just to find the box in the isles. Long story short, I'm never buying from here again and I suggest you don't either. (Also know few people who've gotten food poisoning from here, but I haven't)

He always treats his customers like they are the ONLY ones in the restaurant, even when the place is crowded...which is a lot more often these days! Our favorites have always been New York Steak Yakisoba (w/Chicken or Shrimp) Spam Pineapple Fried Rice (AMAZING!) It has taken us a long time to try anything else because these are SO good! But last night we felt adventurous & ordered Pasta Arrabbiata & Pasta Alla Vodka. Now we have 2 more dishes to add to "Our Regulars"! We topped our evening off with an amazing dessert, Pistachio Ricotta Cake. What a delightful combination of flavors!

The owner, Max is a mad scientist! Everything on the menu is his creation or his version. From the Pepsi Cola Chicken, the Spam fried rice to the deep fried desserts are amazing. We transplanted from Kent in April and Columbia Eats is now our go-to restaurant.

The green beans are always overcooked and the general S. chicken is breaded weird the Mongolian beef is chewy beef and not the proper flavor. Honestly, if they would hire a proper cooks, this place could be a 3 1/2 4 Star Pl. as of right now it's only a two star. The other problem is one of the Asian waitresses rushes. You out the door after you have two plates even if there's not very much food put on them she brings you, your Bill, which I think is rude. So that is offsetting in my opinion it doesn't make you feel welcome or want to go back often when you're being rushed out the door.
