Our family is from Los Angeles and we KNOW good food! Whenever we are even CLOSE to Kalama, we make the drive to eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant, Lucky Dragon! I have no idea how anyone can rate them less than 5 , don't go by the low rating on their overall yelp- TRUST me, you have to eat here! Our top favorites are the orange chicken and beef broccoli, and they do not skimp on the shrimp in the shrimp fried rice! The service is friendly and the weight is short. You can taste the quality in every bite, and the prices are very reasonable. We will be back on our next trip through Washington (we drove an hour and a half out of our way this particular trip to eat at Lucky Dragon... it was worth it!). read more

A go to for weeknight Chinese. Everything you look for...decent portions, decent quality, a little on the grubby side. Stars of the show were the house lo mein and beef with broccoli. The won ton soup average and the sesame chicken a bit heavy on the breading but definitely edible. You won't leave hungry and you'll definitely be happy. read more

I was in the area and wanted to find an easy spot for to-go lunch. I picked a couple items based on what my family likes (chicken and green bean, kung pao chicken, potstickers app). You definitely get your moneys worth. Next time I am going to ask if I can sub the fried rice and chowmein for just all steamed rice (personal preference). I bet it would taste even better eating at the restaurant. But it was still warm after the drive home. I will definitely come back, definitely order to -go again. It would be a great option to do some antique shopping and then stop here afterwards. No complaints on service. It was easy to call and pay without a wait. Even on the weekend around lunchtime. Ps it was my first time here and coming off i5, waze took me to the back parking area. But if you follow the gas station you can park on an easier street parking side (across from their library). I'm really disappointed with the customer service during our recent visit. The person working at the front seemed overwhelmed and was speaking to other guests while assisting us, but instead of handling it professionally, she became short and snippy toward me. It felt as though I was being blamed for her not being able to manage her station, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary. My friend had called ahead with questions and initially recommended this place the woman we spoke to seemed irritable with a large order and we gave grace and still went for takeout. Unfortunately, the interaction at the counter was so impolite that I chose not to spend my money there. My friends decided to eat there, but I personally won't be returning based on how customers are treated. As for the food, I've had it before and would describe it as similar to choosing Taco Bell over authentic street tacos. The Lucky Dragon truly impressed us.We stopped there for lunch today, and everything, I mean, everything was fantastic.I had their House Rice, and it's the best I've ever had. My husband had the Almond Chicken lunch special, and just cannot say enough about it... seriously, he's still talking about it...lol The Lucky Dragon staff were absolutely fantastic. I took a date of mine out to eat here for dinner and we ordered a family style dinner. The fried rice did not even look like fried rice and the chicken was deep-fried and it was saturated with oil. It was disgusting. We wouldn't even touch it and I felt obligated to pay for the food even though it wasn't edible. The pathetic thing is I've always gone here for lunch and the food was delicious except for sometimes the rice was burnt flavor and the soup had burnt flavor in it. They definitely have a problem with proper cooking technique, but I haven't been back here for about two years now and I don't think I ever want to give it a chance again. The waitress looked sort of scared because she knew that the food wasn't good and she had good service so it was a difficult situation. She wanted good tips, but the food was terrible. Some places you go for the food- some you go for the customer service- this place you go for both- I would love to rave about the food but the truth is the customer service outshone the food- fast, friendly 5 star customer service. I liked the food there from the previous owners and was disappointed when Ive tried eating there recently. I would suggest smaller portions, tastier vegetables, more proteins. Youre just loading up my plate with slobs of of cheap noodles and rice on my plate and charging $20. Front staff person was helping with food, so very disorganized to get a table. Once seated, you could feel the tension from other customers waiting for their order. A table of 9 seated 10 min after us, was served their tea and food order taken before the 2 of us, took about 25 min to final get a server. Today my wife and I came to try this place out for the first time. In the middle of our meal, we noticed staff stopping a family on their way out. There seemed to be an issue with the bill. We heard her asking for more tip money to be left. Confused, the family came back inside and gave her a bigger bill. She counted and nodded her head as if she was not happy. The server looked really upset and her demeanor seemed very unprofessional. The food was great, but after we witnessed that behavior from the lady. The experience was a little awkward for us. I have never experienced anything like this. Ever. I know that some restaurants require tips, and other times it's optional depending on the service. But I've never seen staff act this way over tips. I have Lived in kalama 9 years and have been going to lucky dragon for years. As of lately the new owners and staff are completely rude and arrogant . I ordered pan fried noodles with bbq pork and got a soupy mess of god knows what. I called and got attitude from the lady on the phone when I called. I drove back down to town and showed her what I had vs what I had ordered. She wouldn't fix her mistake and was trying to make me pay for another order of noodles. After having birthday dinner with my friend and her family I ordered dinner to go for my husband. The server brought the paper bag out with my bill taped to the bag. I paid my tab and drove 45 minutes home. upon arrival, we realized we had the wrong food and we called to let them know and to request a refund or credit for next time that we were in there. The manager suggested that I call everyone that was at dinner to see if they received my food by mistake and switch it.
