Wonderful food, great service. If you're hungry, you can eat and walk away with 1/2 of the food. They serve a mountain of food even in the lunch specials. read more

Our family is from Los Angeles and we KNOW good food! Whenever we are even CLOSE to Kalama, we make the drive to eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant, Lucky Dragon! I have no idea how anyone can rate them less than 5 , don't go by the low rating on their overall yelp- TRUST me, you have to eat here! Our top favorites are the orange chicken and beef broccoli, and they do not skimp on the shrimp in the shrimp fried rice! The service is friendly and the weight is short. You can taste the quality in every bite, and the prices are very reasonable. We will be back on our next trip through Washington (we drove an hour and a half out of our way this particular trip to eat at Lucky Dragon... it was worth it!). read more

They have amazing noodles. My only complaint is that they cook their food in duck fat and I can't eat it. I wish it was put on the menu so we can request that they don't do that. We ordered $80 worth of food and the only thing I could eat was the noodles there was no mention of duck fat anywhere so we waisted a lot of money and a lot of food read more

The food lacks real taste, ingredients substandard. Snow peas tough, bamboo shoots so tough they are inedible, baby corn that was not delicious. One dimensional sauce. Think we could do better with a few frozen packages of items, prepared at home. We were big fans, but not now. Dinner #9 Mongolian Beef, Chicken and Rice. Beef was chewy. Gristly. Tofu with vegetables. read more

A go to for weeknight Chinese. Everything you look for...decent portions, decent quality, a little on the grubby side. Stars of the show were the house lo mein and beef with broccoli. The won ton soup average and the sesame chicken a bit heavy on the breading but definitely edible. You won't leave hungry and you'll definitely be happy. read more

I was in the area and wanted to find an easy spot for to-go lunch. I picked a couple items based on what my family likes (chicken and green bean, kung pao chicken, potstickers app). You definitely get your moneys worth. Next time I am going to ask if I can sub the fried rice and chowmein for just all steamed rice (personal preference). I bet it would taste even better eating at the restaurant. But it was still warm after the drive home. I will definitely come back, definitely order to -go again. It would be a great option to do some antique shopping and then stop here afterwards. No complaints on service. It was easy to call and pay without a wait. Even on the weekend around lunchtime. Ps it was my first time here and coming off i5, waze took me to the back parking area. But if you follow the gas station you can park on an easier street parking side (across from their library). If you miss it, it's easy to loop around the block. Look for the yellow sign. read more

For American Chinese food, this is pretty decent. The BBQ pork was fresh and not dry at all. The egg rolls are homemade and delicious. Prices are reasonable and wait staff was so sweet. read more

I stopped in on my way to California on a big drive and this meal carried me through Oregon all the way to California m. I think I ate it three times. I got their curry chicken with vegetables. It was delicious if I was local I would eat that regularly. I got my food out the door in about 10 minutes flat and they were very helpful. read more

The Lucky Dragon truly impressed us.We stopped there for lunch today, and everything, I mean, everything was fantastic.I had their House Rice, and it's the best I've ever had. My husband had the Almond Chicken lunch special, and just cannot say enough about it... seriously, he's still talking about it...lol The Lucky Dragon staff were absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was very relaxed. We loved everything about it. The Lucky Dragon is now our absolute favorite Chinese Restaurant. A big Thank You to the entire staff for a great dining experience! read more

Some places you go for the food- some you go for the customer service- this place you go for both- I would love to rave about the food but the truth is the customer service outshone the food- fast, friendly 5 star customer service. We showed up shortly before closing (bad form I know) and they still took care of us! Definitely will be on our list of drop in places when we are in the area! read more

I'm really disappointed with the customer service during our recent visit. The person working at the front seemed overwhelmed and was speaking to other guests while assisting us, but instead of handling it professionally, she became short and snippy toward me. It felt as though I was being blamed for her not being able to manage her station, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary. My friend had called ahead with questions and initially recommended this place the woman we spoke to seemed irritable with a large order and we gave grace and still went for takeout. Unfortunately, the interaction at the counter was so impolite that I chose not to spend my money there. My friends decided to eat there, but I personally won't be returning based on how customers are treated. As for the food, I've had it before and would describe it as similar to choosing Taco Bell over authentic street tacos. There's a time and place for that, but it didn't stand out to me in quality. read more

The portions here are great. The food itself is just okay. The inside is clean enough and the wait staff is good depending on who you have. We normally get the food to go and bring it home. read more

One of our favorite stops for Chinese food when traveling through and from Seattle/Vancouver B.C. and PDX. Our mainstays are the Shrimp Lo Mein, Singapore Rice Noodle and the Mo Shu Pork. All well prepared with the desired breath of the wok effect present. We call 30 minutes ahead (while driving on I-5) and the food is invariably ready when we arrive. Service is fast, friendly and efficient! read more

I took a date of mine out to eat here for dinner and we ordered a family style dinner. The fried rice did not even look like fried rice and the chicken was deep-fried and it was saturated with oil. It was disgusting. We wouldn't even touch it and I felt obligated to pay for the food even though it wasn't edible. The pathetic thing is I've always gone here for lunch and the food was delicious except for sometimes the rice was burnt flavor and the soup had burnt flavor in it. They definitely have a problem with proper cooking technique, but I haven't been back here for about two years now and I don't think I ever want to give it a chance again. The waitress looked sort of scared because she knew that the food wasn't good and she had good service so it was a difficult situation. She wanted good tips, but the food was terrible. What do you do. read more

Tried it again because it's probably the best Chinese food around, and we thought going only on certain days we could avoid one of the most toxic waitresses we've ever had an encounter with. Unfortunately, the terrible attitude of the staff ruins the rest of the experience. The white girl with all the tattoos is in such a bad mood and unfriendly, my wife & I will not return even in the days she's not there, seems it's spread. read more

Food is phenomenal and the prices for the sheer amount of high quality food that you get with every single order is unmatched! I travel from Portland to Lucky Dragon frequently, it's that good! read more

Everyone keeps telling me it's not as good since it sold. I finally tried it this week and I disagree! The food was the same and still delicious. The food is the same style as what we got 60 years ago when I was a kid. Hubby & I shared the Lunch Special "D" and had leftovers. Best value on Chinese food anywhere. Even the fortune cookies at the end were excellent! read more

1) Food was very good 2) Service was subpar. Holy cow! It is almost worth the drive to Kalama WA to eat at this place! Service polite and attentive - not overly so! The atmosphere was a bit old school Chinese, but everything was spotless. We ordered the Crab Puff as an appetizer and oh, so good! Also the Hot and Sour soup. Respectable, but not the best I have ever had. Let me get to the really good stuff... We ordered the Mu Shu chicken. Soooooo good. My friend had never tried it so it was fun to introduce her to this vegetable laden, so tasty dish. To top it off, we ordered the Sautéed String Bean, crispy and seasoned just right. Everything was really good. Warning: take lots of people if you are going to order like we did. We took more than half of the food home because the portions are huge! read more

Firstly the food was amazing and hot, crab puff appetizer came out so quick and were great the meats and rice were amazing, had hot tea for free to start with our water. Price is very fair for the portions and quality. Service was great both the women and men working were very kind. Will come again and would recommend to anyone! read more

I liked the food there from the previous owners and was disappointed when Ive tried eating there recently. I would suggest smaller portions, tastier vegetables, more proteins. Youre just loading up my plate with slobs of of cheap noodles and rice on my plate and charging $20. Create a smaller dish with a cup of hot and soup and more of us singles living here would love to eat at your place. read more

Should have went somewhere else this night. 10+ people waiting for To-go orders and to be seated. This swamped the kitchen, The food was good, but super slow to come out. Front staff person was helping with food, so very disorganized to get a table. Once seated, you could feel the tension from other customers waiting for their order. A table of 9 seated 10 min after us, was served their tea and food order taken before the 2 of us, took about 25 min to final get a server. Pretty disappointing they seemed more interested in to-go than customers on site. read more

Love stopping by the Lucky Dragon whenever stopping through Kalama... the Twilight Town! Serving staff is super friendly and the portions, even on the lunch menu, are always super generous! No parking crowded restaurant. But has good food and friendly service great egg rolls and Mongolian beef

We have eaten at many Chinese restaurants through the years and we are pretty picky foodies and we were really impressed! Delicious food and we tried a ton of food on the menu! We have been going to the Lucky Dragon for years and have always enjoyed their food. Food was above average, portions are very generous for the price. Would eat there again

Today my wife and I came to try this place out for the first time. In the middle of our meal, we noticed staff stopping a family on their way out. There seemed to be an issue with the bill. We heard her asking for more tip money to be left. Confused, the family came back inside and gave her a bigger bill. She counted and nodded her head as if she was not happy. The server looked really upset and her demeanor seemed very unprofessional. The food was great, but after we witnessed that behavior from the lady. The experience was a little awkward for us. I have never experienced anything like this. Ever. I know that some restaurants require tips, and other times it's optional depending on the service. But I've never seen staff act this way over tips. Super unprofessional! read more

Christmas Day. Busy but waited on almost instantly. Great food great service. lots of leftovers to take home.

The service is fast and friendly. The food is fantastic and flavorful, very authentic. Portions are generous and leftovers for us were fantastic the next day. The atmosphere and decorations are traditional with a WA accent. Not too noisy and we could have a nice visit with our group. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

I have Lived in kalama 9 years and have been going to lucky dragon for years. As of lately the new owners and staff are completely rude and arrogant . I ordered pan fried noodles with bbq pork and got a soupy mess of god knows what. I called and got attitude from the lady on the phone when I called. I drove back down to town and showed her what I had vs what I had ordered. She wouldn't fix her mistake and was trying to make me pay for another order of noodles. Rude, unprofessional people. read more
