Came in on a Friday evening and there were like 8 people wishing for to go orders. This was my first time here. I had to come in a place my order as their phone was busy when I tried to call and order. I got the pork fried rice and the combo b with Szechuan chicken!! Both were really good. The Szechuan chicken was really good and spicy. I liked the bug chunks of veggies and chicken in it. The fried rice was pretty good too. It did seem like the rice could have been a little undercooked. But good none the less. The crab puff were the bomb too. I ate those first. They gave me a hot tea to drink while I waited and they were very nice. I will come back again next time I want my Chinese food fix. read more

Service: 2.5 hours and we sstill did not have all our food. We made a reservation two weeks ahead but no where to sit when we got there. Waited over an hour to order. Ambiance: dirty glassware, hair in food, bathrooms smelled of disinfectant ( which we were grateful for). Food: hot and sour soup: terrible. The worst I have ever had I had vegetarian sub gum: the brocolli was RAW! you could not chew it. The noodles were flavored great and were very good. What a friendly welcome we received at Golden Palace, the minute we walked through the door! The owners are super friendly and fully embrace the notion that customers are their GUESTS. This is old-school, straight-forward, Ameri-Chinese food. We ordered from the "mix-and-match" lunch combos menu. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, Hub had the Mar Far chicken and spring rolls. Everything was prepared fresh and portions were ample. What I liked best was that the chicken consisted of all white meat and fried in larger strips. This is important because the chicken is battered and deep fried, which can make smaller pieces tough. This chicken looked like tenderloins...very crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. And when I asked for additional sweet and sour sauce, I was not charged for it (seems to be a grifty trend at other restaurants). What a refreshing experience this was; great food and cordial service. And the price was right, $21. total for both dishes. Whenever we are in the orbit of Golden Palace, we'll drop by again to try other dishes. read more

Didn't see any gold and the place really isn't a palace but none of that matters. They did a great job. Tasty food and plenty of it. Very reasonable prices. I was hungry when I got there and still took a bunch home with me. This is your old school American Chinese Restaurant. Everything was fresh, seasoned well and just all around very good. I had heard folks say there was a dip in the quality here, my husband among those people. I took my mother in law out for lunch here and and food was excellent. If you love American-Chinese food then hit this spot up. You're going to get an old school Chinese food restaurant vibe with huge portions served alongside soup and hot green tea. The service is wonderful. It gives a very hometown, family owned feel. Each person is treated like a special guest. We just moved to Battle Ground, so we had to give this place a try. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't very good. The egg rolls were like none I've ever seen before, and I would not order them again. Potstickers and lo mein were good. Fried rice was good, but didn't have much other than rice and a few large chunks of meat. We ordered sesame chicken, Mongolian beef and Kung pao chicken. They were all about the same level of spicy. Sesame chicken had good flavor, but was chewy. Mongolian beef was good. Kung pao chicken was different than I'd ever had before (I felt like the flavor was just a bit off). Overall, we would order the lo mein and Potstickers again, but that's about it. read more

Golden Palace is one of the few Asian restaurants in Battle Ground. It's pretty good but pretty bland too which might best suite the American palate. As an Asian myself, I appreciate the cuisine. The setting is very clean with a staff so welcoming and accommodating. However, customer service shouldn't overshadow the actual product of a restaurant which is its food. I think the menu selections could be updated but it's just like any other Chinese restaurant in town. I rate it a 4/5 because the people are nice. read more

My husband and I stopped here for lunch. I ordered the lunch combination of Chicken Subgum Chow Mein and Fried Shrimp. My husband had BBQ Pork and Fried Shrimp. The lunch came with soup and we chose egg drop. The soup was flavorful. My meal was delicious, the chicken was tender and moist and the vegetables were fresh. We both enjoyed our shrimp and my husband said the pork was flavorful. Service was excellent. Highly recommend stopping for a delicious meal. read more

We eat here monthly or so. We love the buffet it's got a great variety and consistency is dependable..shocker. I love the egg flour soup, the salt and pepper shrimp, chow main, broccoli beef, and they have fish that is so so good. Their chicken assortments are really good also. They have great green salad options, fresh fruit. And desserts..yummy. The staff is always top notch with refills and even though it's a busy place its clean and well staffed always. We ordered takeout for Christmas dinner, we as now do every year, but this was our first time at Golden Palace. They were slammed and we had a longer her wait than we were told. But mannnn, every staff person in there was hustling to make that place run! We ordered sesame chicken and kung pao need, both delicious. I came here from San Francisco when visiting my grandma for thanksgiving! We stopped in right before thanksgiving food shopping! First of all, THE LUNCH COMBO!!! Go from 11-2pm. Do it! The lunch combo is HUGE. You get egg drop soup or hot and sour, both equally good. A giant serving of pork fried rice which definitely has Chinese 5 spice in it or something, it's unique from regular fried rice and I loved it. You also get an extremely large serving of you entree, two fried wontons, a spring roll, and tea!! All for $5.25 or $6.something. It is SOOOOOOOO worth it. We got orange chicken, and my grandma for Mar Far chicken which was made with sesame seed in the coating, which was amazing!!! The food was just all around amazing. They even use all white chicken, not the cheap dark cuts. My grandma wants to come here once a week now. Being from the SF area, we know good Chinese, and this probably the best you'll get outside of Portland or Seattle in the area! The server was so chipper, nice, and friendly! You could tell they were extremely proud of their restaurant, actually the owner/chef came out and asked us how our meal was as well!! The only "compliant" I have is that the server said our tea was "extremely hot" but it was hardly warm, which sucked because we really wanted something to soothe our throats. Had we asked for a new pot, I know we would've gotten one. I still can't believe how much food we got for $15 after tax and how good the quality was! I've been disappointed the last couple of times I've eaten here. I like my vegetables and picked a dinner from the picture in the menu that showed lots of vegies. What I got was one and one half piece of broccoli, 3 green beans, the knuckle of a piece of celery, I think I saw a few strips of onion. Really......you folks need to step up your game and give the customer what you are promising, there are other options in town. I live in the Ridgefield area but was in Battle Ground last week doing some shopping and decided to give this place a shot after reading its positive reviews. Ended up liking the food so much I came back again the following weekend. It took me about 10min to place an order because the phone line was busy. When I arrived, there were several people waiting outside and when I paid for my food, the phone was ringing off the hook. I ordered the Mongolian beef, sesame beef, general tso's chicken and crab puffs. They also gave us complimentary spring rolls. The portions are huge but what I really appreciate is they don't skimp out on the meat in any of their dishes. You know when you order orange or tso's chicken and half is nothing but small battered pieces or Mongolian beef with nothing but veggies? Nope, not this place. They all came with all big pieces of meat. I've only tried three other Chinese spots in the salmon creek area and this was by far the best. I'm a regular at this restaurant, due to living relatively close. The food here has always been delicious and the portions are rather large : plenty to take home for a snack later. I had visited this place on Saturday night at about 8pm. Ordered what I usually get. This time, the chicken tasted a bit weird but I didn't mention it or think anything of it. At about 4am the following morning, I woke up to the worst stomach aches of my life and for the next 48 hours, I couldn't keep anything down/in. BOMBBBBBB. Basically my new favorite Chinese food spot. I love places that can make a proper chop suey entree. My husband and baby love the orange chicken. Fried rice is really good and the regular wonton soup. I HATED the wonton noodle soup for take out, thumbs dumb. I got home and all the noodles sucked up the broth. I happened to be craving Chinese food for some reason and I wanted to go somewhere I haven't been to yet so I decided to give Golden Palace a try. I went with the lunch special by getting pineapple chicken with pork fried rice, spicy soup, spring roll and wonton. Overall, I was satisfied with what I got. The pineapple chicken's breading was not overly greasy or not overcooked, it was cooked to just the right amount. I liked the pineapple sauce, although it was a little strong, it went well with the chicken. I also really enjoyed the pork fried rice, it had a great amount of pork in it and the rice had that great crunch that I love in my fried rice as it reminds me of my Grandmother's fried rice. Even the spring roll had good flavor to it. However, I was not a fan of the two wontons I got. There was no cream cheese inside of it and it was just pure fried crunch. I'm glad I ended up choosing Golden Palace because that lunch special actually filled me up well, unlike other Chinese places I've been to that left room in my stomach. I love myself some freshly cooked local Chinese spots and Golden Palace turned out to have what I want in a Chinese Restaurant. I will definitely be back! read more

Great food and lots of it for a very reasonable price. Kinda divey, but it works. The szechuan beef is delicious paired with the sweet & sour chicken. Pork fried rice completes the meal. They even throw in a couple of egg rolls and a bowl of egg drop soup for around $10-$12 bucks. This place has won me over. It won't take long to become a regular. Oh...and to top it all off. Service was good as well as the moo shu pork, but who batters fried gigantic spring rolls. The orange chicken were large deep friend chunks with sauce just poured over them. The BBQ pork was overcooked, dry and hard. While portions are super larger, who wants bad Chinese food to eat for days. Reviews were too high for what it was. read more
