Authentic Chinese food, which is not easy to find in our part of the country: the PNW. Classic restaurant feeling, smells like delicious food.

First and last... We were looking for a good Chinese Food restaurant near by. We came in because of the great yelp reviews. As we were coming closer, I was already very if-y to come in. It looked very run down. Right when we came in, I noticed the old dirty floors and carpet... I really wanted to turn away and not eat here but I came with a group and we walked to the restaurant. My first reaction to the restaurant is that it definitely needs to be redone. The furniture is outdated and it seemed very gloomy. There needs to be more lighting as it is so dim. They need A LOT of cosmetic upgrades especially in the bathroom. They do however have two televisions on each side of the room. I would rate the environment about a 1 to 2. The pros about the restaurant is it's customer service. Our waiter was very attentive and enthusiastic. We had a ton of left overs and she boxed and bagged it for us. The prices are great. I would rate customer service a 5. Now to the food... the portions are HUGE! My sister and I shared a lunch special of pineapple chicken that came with egg flower soup, cream cheese wonton (2), pork fried rice and vegetable lo mein. The chicken was okay, it didn't stand out and I've had better chicken. My friends ordered a bunch of other food which I posted but did not try. We did question the chow mein as it was full of vegetables and no noodles. My meal was pretty decent especially for the price ($7.95) I would rate the food a 3.5. Overall, I would not eat here again. Personally, I need to feel comfortable in my environment. I would say if they updated everything, they would receive more business and I would consider coming back. Although the food wasn't horrific, it made me question the food as well if the restaurant looks like this. FYI: The lunch special is only until 3 PM. The prices ranged from $7.95 to $8.55

Hands down my favorite Korean Chinese fusion spot in the greater Portland area!! Pan + Grill K…read moreFusion serves the best black bean noodles I've had around here - rich, savory, and full of that unmistakable wok hei flavor. The pork belly is high quality and they don't skimp on the veggies. Their tangsuyuk is another standout, perfectly crispy even when coated in sauce, which is no easy feat (if you know, you know). The wasabi shrimp has a unique, addictive flavor with just the right amount of crunch. And the kimchi burger? Thoughtfully crafted with a soft brioche bun, a juicy, flavorful patty, and kimchi that really pops. Beyond the food, the hospitality makes the experience even better. Sam and the staff are incredibly warm and attentive. They are happy to offer recommendations, check in throughout your meal, and always greet you with a smile. If I lived closer, I would be there all the time, especially to take advantage of their lunch specials. If you are in the area, this place is an absolute must try, especially since they are always updating the menu with new dishes to try!

I didn't give it a 5 star because I was a bit disappointed with how little protein they add to their ganjjajang. First time I ordered the pork and then I ordered the seafood on another visit. The taste was amazing and authentic but I was disappointed with the pork because they give you like 6 pieces of pork and there is tiny fried pieces as well but the size of a scab lol. I love the big pieces of veggies in it but it's sad they can't do the same with the protein. Now with the seafood version it was the exact same thing very little protein but mountain of veggies except this time the zucchini was so tiny while they gave me giant blocks of onions again I don't mind that but it's all disproportionate. Nothing to what I have had at different Korean spots in Arizona. Everything else is amazing like their fried rice or bulgogi burgers. Their tteokboki is alright it's a niche type of dish so it won't be for everyone. It was more sweet than I like but that's just a me thing. Service was great and the ambiance was chill, quiet and cozy. We will still be returning just maybe will stop ordering the jajamyeon unfortunately.

Enjoyed our dinner at Taste of China…read more We ordered won ton soup, Mongolian beef, brown rice, and garden vegetable mix. I'm allergic to shrimp, so the server gave us extra BBQ pork slices in our won ton soup. The soup was delicious. We appreciate that the soup base wasn't salty. The won tons were cooked perfectly. The soup had vegetables as well. The Mongolian beef was tasty, and went well with the brown rice we ordered. The garden vegetables were slightly overcooked, but plentiful. I loved the light sauce because it didn't overpower the crisp-tender vegetables. We also ordered hot green tea. We appreciated that they offer free refills. The quantity served was greater than expected. Enough for a second dinner at home tomorrow. This will be our go-to place locally for Chinese food. Service was excellent. Plus, they gave my husband a military discount (he's a U.S. Air Force veteran). The restaurant was busy. Not too loud. My husband and I were still able to carry on a conversation. I highly recommend Taste of China for those looking for reasonable prices, a nice selection of Chinese dishes, wonderful service, and good food. It's across the street from Costco, on the same side of the road as Home Depot. We will definitely be back.

The flavors of the food across the board are so much stronger and complex than literally all other Chinese food restaurants I've ever patronized. Their operating model, though, is confusing. They have a lot of "ready now" entrees pre-made for immediate service (think "Panda Express"), and several others that are made-to-order. The "made to order" seems to be the better choice, as what's in the "ready to go" section may well have been sitting around long enough to get soggy. I know this from firsthand experience when some of my General Tso's chicken was the last of what was premade, and the rest was fresh. Not surprisingly, the fresh portion was hot and crispy (and DELICIOUS), and the portion from the premade batch was soggy and lukewarm. There are two chairs in the interior for patrons, so be prepared to stand while your order is filled. Parking is easy as Mar's is attached to a unique and charming Country store with its own parking lot.
