New Peking is a nice family owned restaurant. The staff were friendly and personable. The food was delicious. We ordered the #1,#6 and Shrimp Lomein. The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. The flavor was wonderful. We completely enjoyed our experience. Highly recommend eating at this establishment. read more

I'm a sucker for some American Chinese in the hunt for the best general tso. I got the general tso lunch special. The plus is in my opinion this is the best general tso I've had. Love the sauce. Love the size and ratios of the chicken. Good size portion. Winner. I love the food service coffee pot with hot tea at the table. I didn't think i would like it but seeing how dark the tea is in the pot is really satisfying. Looks really sloppy and amateur but I'm a fan of it. Standard spring roll. Gross cabbage on the inside. Mine was actually a little cold inside. Fried rice was nothing special. In fact I was a little offended by the size of the portion. Just a third of a scoop more changes the optics of The Whole dish. The hot and sour tastes ok but it's a little anemic with the fillings. I'm guessing this is one of the standard suppliers for Chinese restaurants. Overall I felt I got my moneys worth. Satisfying read more

New Peking - Nice area to dine - Chinese Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

We tried this place after seeing some reviews. The place was completely full when we got there around 6pm on a Saturday. It did take a long time to get the food, however it was very tasty and was clearly made to order. We tried the king curry, bbq pork lomein, and the number 7. I was a big fan of the lomein however the pork was a little dry. But overall it was really good. The staff was really apologetic for how long the service took. It was appreciated and we will definitely be back. read more

We order sweet & sour chicken and curry chicken, the food was very bland and tasteless, we won't be coming back.

Orange chicken was blah. I was hot upon delivery. When I bit into it, the breading was chewy. It was swimming in the sauce. I wouldn't order it again. I threw it away. Their house special noodles was too salty. I took a forkful of it and threw the rest away. I know I great quality Chinese food because I lived in Hawaii. I wanted to eat Chinese so bad and I have to say I was dissatisfied. In fact, Panda Express has better Orange Chicken! I wish I took pictures of my order but I was too excited to dig in. Lesson learned. read more

The service was great! The place is clean and decorated nicely. The serving size is family style and the price matches that. Each entree is about $18. Crab puffs were great. The sweet and sour sauce is a bit tangy. Still very good appetizer. read more

The staff are very pleasant. I got the ginger beef and it was good. They have a large menu. I may try something different next time I go there. I got carry out. read more

Lunch was outstanding. I ordered the number five, which is a dinner combination and all of it was very good. Service is great. People are nice and the food was very well. Cooked. It is definitely my go to for Chinese food in Vancouver, WA and I like their hot and sour soup that accompanies lunch and dinner when you dine in. I will definitely be back and bring my friends. read more

Our second visit, we had the Dragon and Phoenix, and House Special Lomein. Included a choice of egg-drop or sweet and sour soup and oolong tea. Fresh vegetables, al dente. They reminded me of Chinatown Friday nights in NYC back in the day. Cantonese classics. Great service, no hurry. Relaxing. The noodles were cooked right, and the beef, chicken, and shrimp were tender and plentiful. Generous portions. As good as it was, we barely managed half of it. I'm looking forward to the second round. read more

Took a drive to Vancouver, as I really wanted to pay sales tax on lunch, I wasn't disappointed. Very easy to find crossing the 205 bridge, 2nd right. The hot and sour soup was delicious but just average. Val sad her broccoli beef was not bad, meaning she's had much better. I ordered off the regular menu as I wanted to try their fried shrimp. I think you can see the two of them, very small and almost tasteless. Egg roll was passable and my lunch was average, but no fat or gristle, and not very spicy. Service was fast and efficient, but as usual, one must wait while the takeout orders are picked up. And who knows, maybe they called in their orders earlier than my arrival, I doubt it. A tad on the expensive side, but I did include a 22% tip, which was one of the options on my bill. Would I go back, probably not worth the extra money, and sales tax, and just passable Chinese food. read more

My husband loved this place, I think it's ok. We usually split one of the combos. I was disappointed in the portion sizes as other places we usually have leftovers after sharing. I didn't think the entrees had much flavor, especially the friend rice.. But my husband liked it so we will order from there again. read more

Excellent food, the decor is cute, the flowered entryway makes you feel as if you're entering an exotic paradise. The staff was attentive and helpful. They have lunch specials and dinner entrees both at reasonable prices. The secret menu is where the good stuff is and they give you 10% off your next visit when you discover it. One of my new favorite local spots for lunch. read more

New Peking is where the old Jerusalem Cafe used to be. We love trying new places especially if they're in our back yard! We were immediately greeted by a young gentleman who set our table up and returned shortly with soup. A great touch and we thought the service meter spiked at that point. We ordered Orange Chicken and Four Happiness. Food was fresh and flavorful and we stuffed ourselves. The menu is quaint and not loaded up with 100's of dishes, which we like. Dining in was great and recommend that over takeout any day. Really had a great experience and will be a frequent flyer here. read more

Great source of lo mein and fried rice! My BF says these are his favorite noodles if he's in the mood for them. I have enjoyed the chicken and the shrimp fried rice on our first visit and second visit respectively which we both agreed is also great. Staff are friendly and welcoming. You can order online from their website which is really convenient if you're en route. And we will be on our next carb craving! :) read more

So I drive by here pretty frequently and thought I'd stop in since they had been open about a month now. Located inside the strip mall (where the old Jerusalem Cafe used to be), I arrived with my partner around lunch time. The restaurant was moderately busy, with nice booths and an open floor plan, which looked clean. We sat at a booth and things started going a bit down from there. The server was very friendly and attentive, which was nice. He brought us hot tea and waters and asked what we would like. The menu is smaller than most American Chinese restaurants, but if you do dishes well, that can be a bonus. We ordered pot stickers as an appetizer, with my partner getting the Mongolian chicken and I getting the house fried rice. As we sat waiting, I noticed the soy sauce container was caked in old soy sauce. Like, weirdly so. So I swapped it out for another one on an empty table. The server brought the pot stickers over and set them down with sauce and left. Interestingly, there were no little plates for us to eat the potstickers on so it was a bit messy to share. The sauce was unlike any potsticker sauce I've ever had. It was cloyingly sweet, and syrupy in texture. The pot stickers themselves were good though. When I attempted to use soy sauce, I found out why the other one had been caked in it. I found out why the other one had been caked in it.. since for some reason the soy sauce didn't come out of them very easily and almost had to be shook out. Then my partners Mongolian chicken came out. The white rice was good, if a touch dry. The chicken wasn't bad, but it was a tad bland overall. My house fried rice came next, which I think was probably the best dish we had. The prices for the portions (17.95 and 18.95 for the entrees, 11.95 for the potstickers) seemed a lil high for the quality/portions, but I get that folks gotta account for inflation and that sort of thing. I don't think we'd be back. While it wasn't bad, it also wasn't a great experience for fifty dollars, and I think there are other places locally that tend to do a better job. I do hope they do well though, I just didn't find it to my taste. read more

This is my favorite place to buy Kung Pao Chicken. I have tried all the other Chinese restaurants in Vancouver, nothing comes close to New Peking. I have to admit in one month I spent $500 in this restaurant buying Kumg Pao chicken. Yes, I ate it every day for a month. read more

My husband is in the hospital so I stepped out for lunch. This place was nearby. Big mistake. The deep fried egg rolls were mushy inside. Terrible. At least they were hot. I ordered WarWonTon soup. Yuck. Old soggy vegetables, weird texture chicken. The shrimp was meh. The broth was just ok, not rich or tasty. At least the hot tea was good and the water was iced. read more

At one point in time I was so impressed but the last few times I've ordered and been really disappointed. Tonight the spring rolls had a weird smokey aftertaste. Aside from the very first time I ordered, the sweet and sour sauce has a chemically, plastic taste to it. I really don't know how to describe it but it's not good and I'm sad about it. Tonight our food was so overly salty that we couldn't finish. The staff is really friendly and the portion sizes are decent for what you pay for it. I guess I'm back on the hunt for good Chinese food in Vancouver. read more

My friend and I had the pleasure of dining at New Peking Restaurant recently. The food was fresh, fresh, fresh and fabulous! We were greeted by a friendly and courteous staff. We have been trying to find a really good Chinese food place but nothing has hit the spot so we were excited for something new. Immediately walking in the door the ambiance is set with an adorable entry. We were greeted right away with friendly service. We ordered to-go. It was packaged with care and easy to transport. Everything we tried was amazing! We got Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, Broccoli beef, Pan fried dumplings, House special rice, and Egg drop soup. It all had great flavor and was fresh. Even after trying everything it didn't feel heavy and we were making second plates. We will definitely be coming back soon and are so happy to have this place near by. We will be recommending it. It seems pricer but it's worth every penny everything was made fresh and with care. read more

Great restaurant with excellent food. Lots of lunch specials and combo options (which is always great for single dining). I ordered Combo #5 for lunch. Comes with a good lighter hot and sour soup or egg flower. General Tso's Chicken, rice, fried shrimp and a spring roll. All was very good and I would order it again. Overall the sauces were not as sweet as are common and I was pleasantly surprised how good they were. Wait staff was very friendly and not aggressive. Perfect politeness and pleasant and answered all my questions. FYI-When asked the Spice level of the sauce it was answered with a standard 2 heat level. Good to know. It wasn't hot IMO. This my new go to for Chinese food. My dish cost $18.95, enough food for at least 2-3 meals. I'll be back, FOR SURE!!! read more

A hidden gem for anyone craving SF Bay Area-quality Chinese food! I've been searching for a high-quality Chinese food restaurant and have been picky about finding a go-to spot--New Peking just topped the list - OK they are the only ones who made the list. The service is warm and attentive, and the history here is fascinating. They're 4th generation family-owned (linked to a long-standing favorite in Centralia) using their family recipes. You can really taste that legacy in the food; it's authentic and made with care, not your typical greasy takeout. The staff was remarkably kind and attentive, making us feel like guests in their own home. If you appreciate traditional recipes and top-tier service, this is the place. read more

My husband and I love trying out new restaurants near our home and kept seeing this all over social media with great reviews, so we decided to come in for dinner. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Such a cute little restaurant. It's located in the spot where Jerusalem Cafe used to be. The waiter brought us menus, water and complimentary hot tea right away. We chose to order one of their combo plates, chop suey and the salt and pepper shrimp. We were also given complimentary soup while we waited for our dinner. The portions were a pretty good size. The shrimp was really good and the general tso's chicken had lots of sauce and lots of flavor. The chop suey was good but could use a little salt/seasoning. Service was wonderful. We even got 15% off our entire bill, which I'm assuming it's because it's still their "grand opening". The restaurant started getting busy after we got there and saw a couple people come in to pick up to-go orders. Glad to see they're doing so well already! read more

I was looking for a new place for Chinese and had been dashing a few times and came across New Peking. It is a cute little place that has a great staff and ambiance. We came with family to enjoy a dinner meal at New Peking. When we entered the restaurant the staff were very friendly and the place looked welcoming. We were informed to sit wherever and given menus. It seemed like a typical Chinese restaurant. Enjoy! read more
