Mar's overall is quite good. There seems to be some confusion about the two locations of the same name, and this review is for the small, take-out-only location. The flavors of the food across the board are so much stronger and complex than literally all other Chinese food restaurants I've ever patronized. Their operating model, though, is confusing. They have a lot of "ready now" entrees pre-made for immediate service (think "Panda Express"), and several others that are made-to-order. The "made to order" seems to be the better choice, as what's in the "ready to go" section may well have been sitting around long enough to get soggy. I know this from firsthand experience when some of my General Tso's chicken was the last of what was premade, and the rest was fresh. Not surprisingly, the fresh portion was hot and crispy (and DELICIOUS), and the portion from the premade batch was soggy and lukewarm. There are two chairs in the interior for patrons, so be prepared to stand while your order is filled. Parking is easy as Mar's is attached to a unique and charming Country store with its own parking lot. read more

Lovely lil central spot of Felida while getting gas or doing business in the neighborhood. Chinese owned and operated with the owner in the kitchen. Very friendly staff overall. The food is delicious and crunchy crispy orange chicken and general tso's. Come support a local owned business! Thanks for the free cookies! Your wife must have been an amazing baker! read more

My experience at Mar's was exceptional. Service was very friendly and helpful. Portions were generous and the taste of their food was phenomenal! I chose a 2-item combo with half fried rice and half chow mein (lo mein?), with broccoli beef and green bean chicken. THEN, I saw the barbecued pork and just had to add a side order of that (and I'm SO glad I did - it was delectable!) You could drive right by this place and not notice it - it is located in the same building as The Country Store. Best parking is on the east side of the store. I'll be back here! read more

Some of the best food in all of Vancouver. I've never had a bad meal here. They're opening up a dinning room are as well. It's always service with a smile, even when they're slammed. This is a true gem of a place. read more

First time coming here. We met the owner Kenny. He is very friendly and told us it's a family run restaurant and they make everything fresh with no artificial dye. Their soups are made to order unlike other places. We got the 3 combo plate(kung pao chicken, teriyaki chicken, beef & broccoli, general tso, chicken pineapple & chicken mushroom) egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. We would rate everything 10/10. It was $58 for everything which is very good price for the quality & quantity of food you are getting. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes. read more

It's baaaaaaack! Mar's Cuisine is an absolute neighborhood staple. AS. IT. SHOULD BE. Mar's is run by a lovely family and was recently closed for a spell due to a family crisis. There's a new plaque on the wall which is wildly touching. This place is like an original, neighborhood Asian-American joint. No seating, take out only, and more menu options than what's even on the menu. Support this amazing, fresh local spot. The food is amazing and the family vibes keep many locals coming back. Cannot recommend enough. Pass up on Panda and hurry to head here. read more

This is an amazing hidden gem! I had never been on this road before learning of Mar's! Walking in you will meet some of the friendliest people, who will get you great food super fast! I was hungry for some General Tso's and they delivered! The chicken was good sized, cooked well, and the sauce was tasty. They did give me some sauces with a little heat to try. If you like some zing, ask about those. One was a clear and it added a little zing. The other was a red purée, not only was the flavor awesome, the heat was epic! I loaded my rice up and ate the whole bowl! Great food, great service! I will definitely be back! read more

I was really surprised that there was a Chinese restaurant next to Don's country store. I don't travel up there often, but I don't live that far away either we heard from a friend of a friend at this. It was a good place for Chinese food so we tried it out. I gotta say it was delicious. Very friendly service. I would definitely recommend it and go back again. Good job. read more

Wow! Where to begin? First and foremost, the owner Kenny and his family are some of the kindest, most genuinely caring people you could ever hope to meet. We are consistently greeted with a warm smile and sincere interest as to our well being. We are fortunate to live in the neighborhood and have come to view the folks at Mar's as friends. The shop is a true local gem! They offer a variety of ready to go entrees paired with steamed or fried rice or chow mein. Portion sizes are always more than generous so I usually go with a bowl and single entree. The cashew chicken is a masterclass in simple perfection! The barbecue pork with house made Chinese mustard dipping sauce is a must try. Oh, and the Hot and Sour Soup might just change your life! You honestly can't go wrong with any selection here. Kenny and family will make it fresh and hot, while also making you feel like their favorite customer. Hands down the best Chinese food in Vancouver. Do yourself a favor and just go. And then keep coming back. read more

Great for takeout! Nice fresh food, friendly service and tables for dine in. I've enjoyed coming here.

Place is absolutely killer. Just moved to the area and had a few Chinese spots, everything has been good but this place is GREAT. The quality, the flavor, the price... seriously impressed. Knew I was gonna write a yelp review after 2 bites. 10/10, Panda Express with real ingredients and flavor for the same price. I recommend chow mein, string bean chicken, and egg drop soup. Soup was so peppery mmmm read more

Best local Asian food so far. Home cooking made with pride and care. Love this joint. You will too.

So good!! First off this is local family owned and run. It was our first time there and it was such a great experience. The food is fantastic. It's really good. Especially the almond cookies!! We found out the owner makes them. Who along with his family are the cooks as well. It's all take out, think Panda Express style but MUCH better cuisine. Along with additional made to order items. Super clean and very well run. Fresh food constantly. Pricing is very reasonable as well. Best General Tsos chicken Ive had around the area. Terriakyi chicken has the best sauce. These are the type of local businesses we need to support. Please give it a try. Great food, terrific people! read more

They are all so nice. The food is fantastic and fast. My wife and I go often so glad they are in the neighborhood.

Here's the short version. Mar's is fantastic Chinese American faire with large portions at a more than fair price served hot, fast, and with a smile. The shop doesn't look like much, but it's a sharp, clean space and they treat you right. Here's the long version. Are you looking for some classic Chinese-American cuisine? Do you like a friendly but no-nonsense staff? Do you hate waiting because you've been desensitized by this incessant need to have everything faster than what is reasonable and are also plagued by undiagnosed ADHD? I stopped by Mar's in the late afternoon after I got off work from the school on my way to a friend's place in downtown. Driven by it the entire school year and never stopped in. Figured I'd give it a try. Right off the bat, they had me sample an item they were still testing before having me order, then proceeded to hook my up with some killer portions. Mind you, I went from this place to downtown, so this ended up sitting in my car for a hot minute. Chinese food doesn't always sit well, but the ratios of chicken to sauce meant that everything stayed tasty and saucy without getting saturated and soggy. It was, in a word, fantastic. If you're local to the area and looking for a break from some of the less than stellar Chinese-American places we have, go to Mar's Cuisine. read more

we ate at this place on Sunday. the Mel served to us had very little meat in it. the battered chicken had freezers burn on them. All the food was very greasy with little flavor. would not recommend to anyone. I have been sick from eating there. Avoid the location off 162nd NE. read more

Very good food and great price. Friendly service. The chicken was all still crispy when I got home.

Best Chinese in Clark County We went for the first time yesterday and it exceeded all expectations! Everything was so delicious, plus huge portions, very affordable, and amazingly friendly service.
