Food was great! Good service , large portions. Not a food critic, but I will return for good service and food again. What more could a person ask for? Order was for take-out. read more

Never had a bad meal at Yan's. Great service. Always go there when I can. My grand son's favorite restaurant.

Kind service. Quiet restaurant. Okay food. I ordered fried rice and it did not contain one single vegetable, not even the standard green onion. The hot tea was delicious. The rice had some flavor but required soy-sauce to take it to enjoyable. There is something about a sticky table that really bothers me. On a scale of 1-5 stickiness - our table was a definite 3 1/2. read more

The food is bland and seemed like it was freezer burnt before cooking. service was sub par I am not a snob by any means but will not be going here again YUK! read more

Good food, I take out. I get two good meals from the order. All is fresh. I have others I go to, it depends on what you like. read more

We got dinner combinations, so between us we had egg foo young, pork fried rice, sweet and sour shrimp, BBQ pork, pork chow mein, soup. The food was just ok. Not a lot of flavor. The oolong tea was wonderful. At lunchtime on a Saturday there were other people eating at just two tables. The hostess/server had us all in back-to-back booths and we could hear the other conversations. One was a job interview - how awkward! No background music, duct tape on the booth, cardboard boxes piled in some booths, restrooms in poor condition. read more

I've been coming here for eight years. I'm never disappointed in the quality of food. However the prices have risen 50% in that time and the Lounge still is unopened. read more

The worst egg roll we have ever had! burnt on the outside and liquid raw on the inside, my wife and i will never order more then water, the sweet and sour shrimp was raw and goey in the middle, the worst food ever, STAY AWAY read more

I have no idea how this place has such high reviews. We order 3 different dishes and everything was horrible. No flavor, greasy. Fried rice had no ingredients. All dishes were absolutely horrible. It's the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. Guessing they use a bunch of MSG. My stomach has been hurting since we are there. If it was possible to rate with a 1/2 star I would. Don't waste your money. read more

Honestly, I used to be an avid elite yelper. I have been to so many placed trying their food but after coming here I stopped. For years... Best food, service, and ambiance ever. Nice staff, quiet environment plus consistent quality & delicious food. I'm a fan of Egg foo young and they do it up right. Looking forward to honey walnut prawns (not so Chinese but such an interesting blend of flavors) Delicious soups. Am I sold? read more

My company put me in a hotel right next to this restaurant. And I have to say this is some of the best Chinese food I've had in a very long time. I ordered the Kung pow chicken combo dinner that came with fried rice fried shrimp and barbecued pork. Again, this is some of the best Chinese food. I've had in a very long time and I'm Asian. They're hot and sour soup was on point. Their Kung pow chicken was very flavorful and their vegetables were fresh. The fried shrimp was very fresh and to say the least, on point. They're sweet-and-sour sauce was perfect with a mix of hot mustard. This is definitely a place. I would recommend to anybody that is close to the area. I will definitely be eaten here every time. I'm in the area again read more

Been going here for 15+ years. Some of the best chinese food around. Go here and support a local and family-owned business!

Love their eggrolls! Lunch specials are a great deal with a wide variety of options. Their menu is pretty big so make sure you read over all of the pages read more

BBQ pork was scary because it didn't have that nice glaze on it. My to go order wasnt right because when I got home I had shrimp instead of egg foo young. Don't know where ya'll been eatin' but this was a disappointment. read more

The important statement first. The food here is really quite good. Portions are a decent size. The Shrimp Egg Roll is huge by most standards. I guess that is their signature item. I ordered way too much food and tried too eat way too much food. I am way too old to do that anymore. But I have to admit the War Wonton Soup is pretty good. Probably order it again, just in a smaller size or just have that as a meal. read more

Delicious and the woman working is very fast and friendly !! My family and I go there all the time.

I was visiting Portland, OR coming from Seattle, WA and was craving some Chinese food and came across this place on yelp! Glad I stop by, good was great, workers was so nice and the bar was fun! After eating get to grab a few drinks and sing my heart out! I will definitely come back here with friends and family! Oh yeah the food me and boyfriend order was a special combo A& B, few appetizers and Chicken Chop Suey. It was yummy to my belly! read more

Yan's Chinese Restaurant - chicken lo mien with no vegetables, and bbq chicken - Chinese Near Me - Kelso, Washington

The Best Chinese Restaurant I have ever had. Fried tofu w/ rice? Amazing. Veggie Lo Mein? Delicious. Service 10/10. Ambiance is great. No one else comes close across the nation. It is worth visiting Longview/Kelso, WA exclusively for Yan's and for no other reason. Yan's is the only redemption for the area. read more

First time trying this place. The BBQ pork wasn't as good as many other Chinese restaurants. The 'hot mustard' tasted 'blah', lacking the full bodied flavor you find elsewhere. The steamed rice was unlike any other we've had. The rice was almost like it was frozen prior to serving. The kernels were much smaller than usual. Not fluffy at all. As for the lo mien, 'meh'. Have had much better at P F Chang's. On the plus side, it's very clean in there, and pretty much good staff. As for us though, this was a one time deal. read more

Go elsewhere or make it yourself. The waitress that took my order was pleasant. My food came quick and seemed fresh, but that's it. I can make rice, add 3 shrimp, but getting tiny slivers of what I guess was pork and chicken, is the hard part. $9 for this bland, flavorless, almost meatless pile of white rice is criminal. Next was chow mein. It was just as bad. I rarely get Chinese food to go, so this place was a huge disappointment and waste of my time and money. 2 stars because of the service, food=0 read more

Had the best experience at Yan's Chinese Restaurant - the shrimp egg rolls and hot and sour soup were amazing! Crab wantons were also a huge hit! The service was so enjoyable and will 100% be returning on all of our drives back to Seattle! read more

In town visiting a friend, she suggested the place and to be honest I was NOT expecting anything at all. I have to tell you the food was fantastic. I'll be visiting Yan's next time I'm in town. We had Sweet and Sour Pork (FABULOUS) the GIANT egg rolls were to die for, the BBQ pork seemed fresh (You know what I'm sayin' here.. not that rubbery texture you get some places). The orange chicken was great... I was iffy on the sesame chicken but the subgum chicken made up for it. Even the tea they served was very good. We got the #4 for all 4 of us and switched out the shrimp for the orange chicken.... OMG it was fabulous! So when driving thru Longview be sure to stop here. read more

Good food, good portions, fast and friendly service. I had Green Beans with Garlic Sauce, Sesame Chicken and Pan Fried Noodles. All were good. There's definitely some wear and tear on the place, particularly the parking lot/outside area, but inside is clean and comfortable. read more

We have eaten here many times, and after eating at all the Chinese food places in Cowlitz County, this place is our favorite!!!The lunch specials are a great deal. About $6 for a big plate of food. Includes soup, fried rice, and an egg roll. I order everything extra spicy, and they remember every time! The House Special Lo Mein, Kung Pao Chicken, and Chowmein are our favorites! We are never disappointed and the owners are very friendly!! read more

Update on 10 /22/15 My husband brought me home some take out from here. I didn't know that it was from this location. It was chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice and bbq pork. It was very good! So, I'm upping my review by one star. I definitely still won't order their walnut shrimp or the crab puffs again. read more

Please stop posting fake positive reviews. This place is dirty, has horrible tasting tea, and soup. No gluten free combinations. No lunch menu. I highly recommend going somewhere else. read more

Crab puffs actually pretty good, fried rice 5/10, chow mien 4/10, fried shrimp soaked in oil and under fried 2/10, same with chicken 2/10, egg flower soup...one sip and queasy since -10/10, BBQ pork 3/10. Something was very wrong with the soup. Two stars because the other items (well 3 of the 7) were edible. read more

Yan's Chinese Restaurant - One of many dinner specials. - Chinese Near Me - Kelso, Washington

The Chinese owner lady waitress is disrespectful and dishonest. Give anyone a chance but when you over charge and lie you don't deserve to be apart of this community. I do not recommend eating here because of the bad experiences I have had here and with other people. If your a good human you can sense the deviousness here. read more

The food is great. Unfortunately, this bar is not open to lgbt people at all. The restaurant is safe, but once you're in the bar you take your identity into your own hands. I was kicked out of the bar because a man called me a faggot, and the bar staff decided to remove my friend and I, rather than removing the person who actually called me derogatory names in the first place. For the record, I tapped his thigh because I noticed something shiny (that might have been money) at his feet. He jumped into saying "don't touch me, faggot", and somehow I was in the wrong here and wound up kicked. Unprofessional and disgusting. read more
