The food was fresh and presented beautifully. The prices are fairly reasonable and there's a wide variety of dishes in different price points. The staff was pleasant and attentive. There's a lot of room that could be used for large parties but during regular business there are booths they seat you in. They have some authentic Japanese decor and your tea comes in a teapot with tea cup not a chonky coffee mug. They have a nice lust of creative rolls I'll be going back to try. read more

So glad I grabbed one as we left so I could study it for next time! We had the privilege of living in Japan several years ago. Long enough to try just about everything and some things I'd wished I hadn't! (My hubby was in his realm & I'm the squeamish one!) Sushi Sakura has done an amazing job in offering so many choices for just about any pallet. Everything is beautifully presented in typical Japanese fashion. I'm partial to Bento Boxes because of the variety in them and they're so stinkin' cute. And their Sushi ROLLS! We got the biggest kick out of the names of some of them: Miso Sexy Roll, the AK47, Godzilla Roll, just to name a few! The dining room is huge with lots of seating. The decor is a little spartan, but that is also somewhat typical Japanese. They keep things very clean, uncluttered and simple. This is our sushi place. Every weekend we come here for the freshest fish and kindest service in town. They definitely understand customer service. We've had a lot of sushi here, and have never had anything we wouldn't order again and again. From the wait staff to the chefs and artists, it's all amazing here. Pricing is pretty standard for sushi. If they're busy, the parking lot can fill up but there's typically a spot or two to choose from. read more

Fantastic little place! If you like sushi and bento style Japanese dishes, this is the restaurant for you. My go to is the fried jalapeno and cream cheese sushi, along with the chicken yakisoba. I've also tried the ramen, - they only have one kind and it isn't my style, but the quality is still clearly there, and there's a lot of it. Prices are pretty high, but portion sizes are massive. The only thing I wouldn't suggest getting is the curry. The taste of the curry itself is good, but it's pretty much just a massive bowl of potato, on top of rice. In fact, it's about 75% potato, and 25% curry. There's no carrot or spice or meat in there, unless you pay extra to add it. Besides that bad experience, though, I've had nothing but fantastic ones. You WILL enjoy this place. read more

Decided to come here from the good reviews, not sure what the hype is about. Sushi is mid, the service was just bad. They brought out my spouses food first and he was halfway done before I got mine. It took them forever to get two sushi rolls out to me and I was close to requesting the check just for my spouses plate but then my food finally came but it wasn't even that good..And not to mention the table that came in after us had been served before us..There were also no extra dishes for soy sauce, which was weird. I was hoping to like this place. My hunt for an actual good sushi spot in Longview persists. The place is also a bit run down, I had a gut feeling before going in and still wanted to give it a chance. If you've ever had actual good, fresh sushi then this is not the place for you. Out of all the sushi restaurants in the area, this is above all my favorite. It has a sushi tower, which is everything sushi piled into one bowl. That would be my husbands favorite. I like to eat a little bit of a Bento box and a couple rolls sushi drink some hot green tea and sit in very comfortable booths. The service is great. The people all have a smile on their face. The only thing I would change is the bathroom is so cold, but the food is absolutely delicious. read more

The food is always great and the servers are pleasant and accommodating. I love taking my little girl here for mommy-daughter dates. They always treat her well. I love their California rolls and teriyaki chicken. Bento boxes are fun to get and I usually get my daughter one of the Japanese sodas (recommend the strawberry flavor). Unfortunately, takeout orders usually take forever. I usually have to wait an entire hour for an order of two bento boxes and one teriyaki chicken with rice. It also bothers me that they do not offer kid-sized meals and prices. read more

I had the California Roll & the Salem Roll The California roll was amazing they did a great job at dividing up the ingredients and dispersing them evenly. The rice was good because you could pick it up and not have to worry about your fingers getting all sticky, the sizes of the individual sushi pieces were perfect because If you like to eat the whole piece in one bite like we it's not to big but it's easy enough to bite in half and it doesn't make a huge mess. I give the Cali roll a 4/5 just because the pieces were somewhat hard to take apart, for instance one of my pieces broke because they stuck together. The Salem roll was very good the avocado was fresh which is a big part of it. I honestly did not know that this was made with "imitation crab" which I'm not a big fan of but it got the job done. Part of me really only tasted the cream cheese and the fried tempura which was to much in my opinion a little to big unlike the Cali roll but I do understand it has more but more isn't always better. I give the Salem roll a 4/5 but I would give it other chance if the opportunity arises. read more

Cool fish tank up front for kids and adults alike to look at. Really nice place for casual, even semi-formal hang outs and events. - Food: The food is decent. Can definitely find higher quality at other sushi places in town, but this one is quick and effective. The Soft-Shell Crab appetizer is my favorite, a whole, delicious crab served straight up. The Spicy Squid Tempura Roll and the Tuna Roll were good. Overall, I feel like this sushi place is overshadowed by the other sushi places in town. My favorite sushi place in Longview. I've tried most of the others and nothing else in town compares in my taste buds' opinion. The avocado rolls are delicious. 2 rolls and I'm full. Costs about $14 per person for 2 rolls. A little more if you get the fancy ones. I'm a basic sushi girl though- California, crab, avocado, cucumber, and asparagus rolls. All delicious. They have 2 clean one person bathrooms. A little lobby with huge fish while you wait. An old non-working pay phone out front. And free after dinner candies if that's your thing. read more

Extensive roll selection. Generous portions. Prompt service. Most importantly, the food was very good! The rolls were very good, teriyaki a bit bland (good for the kiddos), miso tasty. My only real complaint was that the chopsticks could cause real harm: they are super splintery, and despite the usual friction rub to remove imperfections in the wood, the chopsticks continued to splinter. Every one of them that came with our order was like that. We threw them all out after checking them. Far too dangerous to risk using them. I would strongly recommend purchasing from a different supplier. In spite of this, we will return. read more
