The taste of egg tarts is nostalgic, but in reality, they're not particularly special. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat them. 令人懷念嘅蛋撻味道,但係其實冇乜特別,唔會專登去食。

We love this bakery ! Friday night tradition

We always buy every Friday! . When we walk in, the team always offers my daughter a fresh cookie .of course always asking if she has any allergies. We bought many birthday cakes here too !

Panash Bakery is located in Markham just east of Markville Mall. They are a standard Chinese bakery serving the usual fare of familiar classic baked goods. Sadly the egg tarts and Hong Kong style milk tea were sold out. I opted for the curry beef pastry puffs which were flakey, dense and tasty. Also tried the garlic buns. They were slightly sweet tasting with an almost indiscernible hint of coconut. Their products run the gamut of mochi, BBQ pork pastry puffs, pork floss buns, 2 types of coconut buns, pineapple buns, tuna buns, buns baked with a hot dog on top (with cheese sprinkled on top), sweet coconut buns, cream buns, etc. They have Swiss rolls with a good amount of cream-to-cake ratio in flavours like matcha, vanilla, lemon, blueberry, chocolate, mango, and green onion roll. Many different types of almond cookies, walnut cookies and other types of cookies packaged in large plastic tubes. Single cake slices, birthday cakes and custom cakes. Grab a tray and some tongs upon walking in, select your pastries, pile them on your tray and bring to the cashier when you're ready to cash out.

Variety of buns, pastry and cake's options. A clean bakery shop. The ladies there are super friendly. Buns are great. Pastries are a little too sweet to personal taste.

I came here on a recommendation and was excited to visit. Parking is limited, but there is additional parking in the back of the plaza. The bakery has one table with chairs as you walk in, and plenty of showcases for their pastries. Everything looked very fresh. I bought a few pastries to try out first - matcha sponge cake, two egg tarts (puff pastry & short crust) and a mango mochi. They are very generous with the egg tart custard, and the taste is rich and smooth. The matcha sponge cake had a fair amount of matcha flavor. Other flavors include blueberry chocolate, chocolate, lemon, mango and coffee. I liked the egg tarts so much; I went again and purchased some more pastries to try. I am not a huge fan of Chinese buns, but I tried two of them, just so I could compare and review. The curry beef bun had quite a bit of filling and a mild curry flavor. The tuna fish croissant had bits of onion, and was quite filling, no pun intended! I agree with fellow Yelpers, the prices are higher than other bakeries, but then again, I do not eat Chinese pastries that often, so it is a treat for me. Short crust/puff pastry egg tart $1.45 each or 6 for $8.10 Matcha sponge roll - $1.35 Mango mochi - $1.20 Coconut tart $0.90 Curry beef bun $1.65 Tuna fish croissant $2.20

My family and I always get our cakes from here. We've tried the mango mousse, Black Forest, and mixed fruit cake. The prices for the cakes are pretty good, it might be a little more expensive than other places but that's fine. The mango mousse and Black Forest cakes are always delicious! The whipped cream is light and fluffy and they're always decorated really nicely. The mixed fruit cake, however, was not as good. I was a little disappointed as the cake layers were thin and not fluffy at all. They were also a little grainy to eat? The inside of the cake was collapsing a bit because of the amount of fruit inside was a little too heavy for the cake layer thickness. I love the amount of fruit on the inside and outside, but I think the cake itself could've been better. Overall, I would recommend the mango mousse and the black forest, but not the mixed fruit. I don't know if it was just one off cake as I can't remember if my family has bought another one from there in the past, but besides the one mixed fruit cakes we've never had a problem!

We ordered the 6" Tiramisu cake for a birthday. The cake looked small, but it tasted better than expected! I like the strong coffee and cocoa flavour and how fresh the cake was. You can order online or call ahead to place an order. They accept credit card as well which is convenient!

Sadly today I got a spoiled mango mochi I will suggest skip that if mango is not in season. The other buns and pastries are still good.

Trendy Chinese buns and treats. The owner here really takes pride and this place is always neat, well stocked and smells amazing. They had a lot of traffic on a Monday afternoon, probably from the dim sum crowds next door. Must try: Curry Beef Puff- very flaky, medium curry flavour and ground beef, it's done well, gotta try this, very tasty! Matcha Mochi (chewy and filled with a fresh center, not mango fruit was too raw tasting and too much liquid filling on my visit) Eggs tarts(very dense and eggy) Cake rolls (not too sweet) Buns(all very fluffy and inside filling portion is fair to generous) Pass: Croissant- great appearance, smells right, but made differently and tasted like bread. I was really surprised how this tasted. Tim's would be 5* and this would be 2* Pricing seems to be in the normal range now as everything has gone up but as usual but 6 no tax. Great place to try if in the area, but not worth the far drive if you have an egg tart craving. Staff- changes one's experience, as some are fast, or friendly or like today...I asked, "how fresh that last vanilla cake roll was?" she replied hmm I don't know...and nothing else while checking out. Yikes.

Very nice mango themed items with a very aromatic flavor and great textures. Everything else is also good, though not at the same quality as the mango dishes. The mango bun is the best item here with a delicious combination of fresh mango flavor and delicious cream and flavorful bun. The mango mochi has a nice chewiness to it with a very aromatic mango flavor once again. The egg tart had nice smooth custard with super heavy egg flavor and flaky tart. Definitely worth a visit if you're in area and looking for delicious mango themed desserts.

I came here based on reviews by friends. I got there close to closing time so the shelves were a bit sparse. I got the last two mango mochis, some peanut ones, and a ham and cheese savoury bun. The mochis were both very tasty, but I prefer the texture and and slightly sweeter taste of the peanut, even though the mango one had chunks of fresh mango. They're both very good. I have to assume the ham and cheese was good because my friend inhaled it before I had a chance to taste it. I guess I'll have to go back and get my own.

Recently, I got to try two of their 6 inch cakes. The earl grey tea chestnut cake with fresh strawberries and the black sesame mochi lava cake with fresh mangoes. Both cakes are AMAZING! I could taste the earl grey flavor and the chestnut flavor separately along with the fresh strawberries, it is a wonderful combination. The black sesame one was sooooo good also. It has black sesame mousse on the outside and the top is like a black sesame lava topped with pistachios and some kind of nutty crumble crunch. The inside has mochis layered within along with black sesame cake, more of that nutty crumble crunch and at the bottom is fresh mangoes. I honestly don't know which one I like better but I am craving either cakes again (I had both within the last 3 weeks haha). The service there is still excellent. The curry bun could use more filling, but the pastry itself was flaky and flavorful. The cheese chicken bun was huge and super satisfying. We got it fresh so the outside was crisp and the cheese stayed gooey. We also grabbed their famous egg tarts. They kept selling out and the kitchen was scrambling to keep up, so we pre-ordered and came back thirty minutes later to pickup. Totally worth it.
