No one ever answers the phone! I have tried calling repeatedly but the only way to talk to someone is to go in. So last month I did. And I canceled my membership. My skin tone doesn't work well with sprays no matter how lightly I go. Not their fault, just not for nWhen I left the store I confirmed I canceled. Just saw that my card was charged and of course I cannot get in touch by phone. Incredibly frustrated! **I finally received a call back in February. Was assured this was taken care of. Just realized I've still been charged for the past months. I will be disputing on my credit card. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A RECURRING CHARGE. YIU WILL FIND IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL!!!! read more

After 2 months of back and forth with PBT over a $100.00 gift card, that was given to me as a gift,that I cannot use. I went to the Better Business Bureau and the Virginia Attorney Generals Office. The BBB favored Palm Beach Tan because PBT made me an UNACCEPTABLE offer. The Attorney General's Office sent letters to the store and to corporate, 2 or 3 times and PBT returned to sender. This is unacceptable and thievery, in my opinion. I will NEVER do business with them nor would I recommend them to anyone. The Attorney General's Office has recommended I hire an attorney. I may pursue this as PBT is a business and they do NOT satisfy their customer!! Small Claims court is where I am headed. read more

Very disappointed at the Ashburn Palm beach tan full turnover from last years ladies who were awesome. They always greeted you with a smile or friendly. I would say only 1 this whole year since I have been going has been friendly. Also you would think with COVID restrictions it would be cleaner. Most times in the spray tan booths the trash is overflowing some on the ground, a couple times said it was clean looked like towels used, missing googles, nose plugs etc. I am thinking about closing my account for good and finding a new location read more

They are all such nice people. They learn who you are by name! I never tanned before and they were so helpful, been tanning for about a month now, and I'm finally getting a good solid bronze color (I use the platinum beds). I walked in not knowing about the nuances of tanning since I last tanned when I was a teenager, but my post Bachelorette tan line had to be dealt with before my wedding. Rachel was very kind and patient and explained all of the beds and what their differences were as well as all of the packages and what they included. she also recommended lotions for fair skin and for me to start out with a low minute setting to get used to the bed rather than having me full blast 20 minutes and I really appreciated that because I don't tan like I did when I was a teenager. the monthly special is a pretty good deal and you get $20 off of your lotion. I went with the bronze package for $19.95 a month and felt like I was very well informed before I set foot in the bed. UPDATE: I previously left a 1 star review. I waited 3 more minutes and the District Manager arrived and let everyone inside. She couldn't have been anymore apologetic and kind. She handled the line of customers flawlessly and provided exceptional customer service in a very difficult situation. I'm changing my review to 5 stars specifically because of the high degree of service the District Manager provided to everyone that waited. Thank you very much for turning my negative experience into a great one! Old Post: The posted hours online AND on the front door at the physical location all indicate that Saturday opening hours are 9AM, so I'm not sure why the doors were locked when I arrived at 9:15am (while 4 other customers waited with me and ultimately left). I figured maybe someone was running late since there was no sign indicating an unexpected closure, so I left (like the other customers that waited with me) and decided to come back later. Here I am at the Ashburn location once again at 9:57am. Same story. 4-5 customers waiting in the parking lot. I called the line multiple times and no answer. I tried to open the door and it was locked just as it was before. If you're not going to open on time, then at least have the decency to post a sign or make a post on social media so people don't have to waste their time with stopping by this location. read more

The staff is very helpful and friendly. They will take the time to walk you through all the possible programs. The beds seem to be clean but the floor could use a good scrubbing. I had been going a few times a week and saw the same drop of tanning lotion on the floor each day. Makes me cringe to be barefooted on the floor. Keep your flip flops on. The lotions are horrifically expensive. I buy the exact same thing on Amazon for a third of the price. They say that the ingredients are not as good, but I find it all works the same. Over all, it's kind of expensive, but it's the only one in town. And the friendly staff keeps me coming back. read more

I went in there today & had a very nice experience. I don't remember the girls name at the front desk but she was very helpful. I had never tanned before using a bed & she answered all my questions I seemed to have. She helped me choose what was right for me based on how tan I already am. The place itself was very clean which is always a plus. The beds seemed to be kept in good condition & mine was cleaned & ready to go for me. So far, the best PBT salon Ive been to! The staff is always super nice here, the whole salon is clean, minimal wait times and best of all, they are not pushy on sales! I come in sporadically and mostly have my account on freeze, but whenever I need to get some vitamin D I come in and they will set me up so that I look and feel great for whatever I have planned. I purchased a package of spray tan sessions. I also paid an extra $45 at one point to transfer a few of them to my daughter. After being told a week earlier I had 3 sessions available I walked in to use one. I was then told I didn't have any sessions left on either account. When I inquired as to how that could be I was informed that my sessions expired 10 days earlier. I didn't even ask to speak to a manager as I figured with that type of service I wouldn't get far anyhow. Needless to say, I won't use them next year. Each time you get down to a few session they ask if you want to purchase more, but neglect to tell you when they expire. Nice racket. I figure they made $75 off me in unused product. read more

As a repeat customer and someone who has tanned sporadically for almost 15 years (and have yet to be burned in a bed), I was frustrated by the store policy that only permitted me to use the Platinum bed for 6 minutes (half of the full time) because I hadn't been tanning in a while. I understand this policy is intended to protect the customer, fine, but why not prorate the cost? In addition to being annoyed that I can't tan at my own risk (knowing full well my dark complexion can handle the full time), I was annoyed at the concept of paying full price for half the service. I paid $30+ for this session and was only in there for 6 mins, while other customers pay the same amount and receive the full time. Seems unfair to me. Like paying for a full pizza and only getting half delivered to protect the customer from high cholesterol. I won't be back unless the policy is changed. read more

I have been going to Palm Beach for about ten years to different locations over those years. Palm Beach has ALWAYS had the best deal when it comes to spray tanning, on both the Mystic Tan and the Versa and Versa pro, so anyone that does spray tanning even if it's just a couple of times a month they have the best pricing on it. I currently live in the middle of the Herndon location and Ashburn location but I always now choose the Ashburn location, like any business the employees that are working determine how good of a visit you have, and Karley and Sam at Ashburn are awesome!! My tanning regimen isn't normal but those girls get it, it always runs smoothly and they are fast and after just two visits remembered me. Plus they always make me laugh. Sometimes I only have a few minutes to tan and with the Ashburn locations those girls make sure I'm in and out and if there are any problems they take care of it and handle the issue with the respect and professionalism that everybody would want. Sign up on 12th of the month and because I was traveling for a month they punished me by giving me option to freeze my account starting 1st, so I paid $70 for few minutes of taning. I just signed up for 1 month of tanning at this place because I'm getting married in a month. When I signed up the "Store Manager" was nice enough. Funny though when I declined the very expensive tanning lotions they offer, because I know you can get them all day long on Amazon for a fraction of the cost, she got a little condescending. She mentioned when I signed up there was a 24 hour tanning policy. I didn't really know what that meant and didn't feel concerned enough to ask. Stupid me. Their policy is that you cannot tan within a 24 hour period. The first day I tanned at 6:28. The next day I showed up at 6:15, right after work, and the "Store Manager" told me that I was a little early. I said I don't have an appt and she said no, you're early for the 24 hour policy. She said you can't tan within 24 hours. I said are you kidding me?? She said no, that I would have to wait 13 minutes before I could tan. Then she tells me it's because they are concerned about my safety. Really?? You sell a service that cooks people's skin and you are concerned about my safety? Funny. If you think about the 24 hour rule, and you intend to tan everyday, you cannot come before the 24 hour mark so you will likely be pushed back later and later due to the rule. I am extremely perturbed. I will finish out what I paid for and I will never go back there again. read more

I went to Palm Beach Tan because of their recent advertising on the radio. I wanted to try their $10.00 spray tan they were advertising. When I called they seemed irritated that i was asking for the special and kept telling me I had to be a new customer and be sure to bring the coupon in. I brought the coupon in but Really?? You have been advertising this on the radio all week long. The girl at the desk talked a mile a minute and I had no idea of the packages they offered or what she was referring too. She pointed to packages on a sheet but never bothered to slow down or explain what the cost was for. Just kept pushing the monthly packages,lotions, and upgrades. I may have bought something else if I truly understood what they were for. She seemed like a robot just repeating what she was told to say. Of course the 10.00 spray tan was really 15.00... It was not busy when I arrived or left. So not really sure why everyone seemed so rushed. Palm Beach Tan needs to work on their phone skills. I had the displeasure of visiting Palm Beach Tan several times. My membership at another location was transferred to Palm Beach when they were sold. I had a membership for Mystic. When I went to Palm Beach I was told that my membership has transferred to 3 'bed tans' which I do not do. I talked with the person working that day, and then to the manager twice after that. The manager told me that she would take care of it and get right back to me. I am still waiting for that call, 6 months after contacting them repeatedly. Their prices are much higher than comparable locations and obviously their customer service is severely lacking. I would not recommend this chain. read more

I had the best tanning experience ever! Their prices are soooo much better than other salons in the area! Memberships range from $30-$90 depending on what bed or spray tan you want to do. They told me today that through the 14th they are also waving any startup fees associated with the memberships! I dealt with the manager Julia who was so accommodating! She was super sweet....and showed me the best lotions to use for the tan that I want. I recommend this tanning salon to everybody. Ask for Julia! read more

I've never written a review in my life until now. It's two stars instead of one because I've been a customer for years and it's been generally good, but I've just had two very frustrating experiences here in a week. I've been tanning in beds for 7 years, and I've been tanning in general all my life. I'm Italian- I do not burn. I came in for the first time in a couple months (even though I've been paying you money monthly) and I was told I could only go for six minutes. When I expressed that my niece had just died and this was the only 12 minutes in my day that I had to get my mind away from that situation, I was told the same answer, which I understand from a management standpoint. Except I DONT BURN and everyone at the PBT locations I go to knows that because I've been that way since day one/been very expressive about that. And then I come back a couple days later (not burned obviously) and think "okay here we go, 12 minutes now since I sucked it up and did six last time" but no. She said there were new bulbs and everyone had to do six because they didn't want anyone to burn. And when I explained that I don't burn AGAIN and to just put me in a lower level bed where I can actually go the full time, she said every bed in the building was six minutes today. I don't pay the 1,000s of dollars that I've given this company to tan for six minutes every time or to be treated like that on the day my infant niece died. Not a good experience. I have used Palm Beach Tan for quite some time, definitely long enough to give it a review. I have always been greeted with a smile from the Palm Beach staff, everyone I've come in contact with shows a great deal of integrity for their positions and the company they work for! I have always gotten a detailed answer to any of my questions, actually they have gone above and beyond to make sure my tanning experiences have been enjoyable. As I've stated above, everyone I have come in contact with have been excellent during my visits. I would especially like to give Nicole a 10 star review. She is there most times I visit and is extremely knowledgeable about the equipment, tanning, and has always answered any questions I have had with a response that definitely tells me she knows the tanning business. I have recently used the spray tanning and I'm always fearful of the outcome based on a bad experience I had with another tanning salon. She has calmed my fears and has made spot on recommendations for me and I've been extremely pleased with the outcome. Nicole has the perfect personality for this type position. She is always smiling and friendly and she knows the business, I trust her recommendations completely when trying something new and I'm always thrilled when I see her at the front desk when I come in to tan! The salon itself is always clean, and the rooms are large enough to comfortably change.
