I went just yesterday for a spray tan. My first time! I was very nervous but the employees were SUPER nice and helpful. I did everything they recommended, the primer, the medium tan, and they even gave me free sun tan extending cream! Very impressed from a service standpoint! However, I was honestly not super impressed by the actual quality of the spray tan. I waited almost 24 hours to shower, and I still had some spots that just didn't really tan or somehow wiped off. My wrists and under my eyes specifically. See pictures attached. My legs and arms look good, but my wrists and under my eyes look rough.. Also had a slight issue where my card was overcharged but said pending (total was $61 and my card said $73!). I called and also went back, and they gave me my receipt and told me to check in with them the next day when the full charge goes through. Again, super friendly and helpful employees! I checked today, and the overcharge was gone from my card, so we are all good there! read more

I brought their Gold level, but got burned on the 1st time! Can't find anyone to talk to about this problem, very upset and disappointed. It's definitely not the 1st time I used the tan bed and I usually get tan very easily My body was like a fully cooked lobster on the 1st day, 2-3days later started peeling. I decently think it's the lights are not even, I can tell from the burning level through out my whole body I called and emailed them before March. Horrible experience today. Been a client for 3 years and have been told every time that I can pause my membership and then use those funds for future tans. That is a LIE. They terminated my contract when I said to keep it suspended, and then charged me $45 for a $15 spray tan. I never complain about anything - you can check my history. I am disgusted with their business practices and fraud/scam like actions. I feel duped and overcharged. Will be reporting them to my Credit Card company as fraud. read more

Not a fan of this location. Staff isn't so friendly. Especially the redhead. My old location was better, unfortunately I moved. The bulbs in the beds aren't changed as often as they should be. It's difficult to find parking. It's just not enjoyable to come here, for the monthly membership fees they really do the bare minimum. They've gotten somewhat better over the years but the prices are still high and being a diamond member doesn't have significant perks making the steep price not that worth it unless you're someone who makes a lot of money. buy lotions anywhere else but the salon (poshmark, Walmart, Amazon) for 50-70% less for the same products. As usual, some staff are nice some aren't. As far as spray tanning, review yourself before; it's easy to mess up so make sure u read up how to stand, how to apply barrier cream etc. photos of people's bad sprays aren't that helpful because the spray machine typically always does the same thing, it's the people who usually don't know what to do. I agree that staff should be more informative but at the end of the day just watch a YouTube video before going and you'll be good. I've gotten plenty of sprays and when I take the time to do it right it turns out excellent, if I'm rushing and don't apply the barrier cream and all the other things it doesn't look as good read more

This place is super clean and has very knowledgeable staff. They give specials for members and always remember what bed I like. They change bulbs frequently and keep the tanning rooms sparkling. No hard sale tactics here. They ask if you need anything and offer up the latest promos but don't strong arm you. Be advised that the 24 hour tanning law is not their fault. You cannot tan until the minute the clock strikes 24 hours from your last visit because it's the law. They offer many monthly packages which are very reasonable. The spray tan machines are amazing! They have several levels of color as well as primer and moisturizing coats. Opt for a membership level of tanning that includes the beds and spray tans. I love to double dip. You never know when something special will come up and you need to be tan. That 24 hour law will suck then but if you have the right level of membership you can just jump in the spray tan booth and get a level 3 clear coat like I do. read more

HI! I was there last night 5/26/21 around 7 pm. I wanted to unfreeze my membership and the employee who was at the front desk was pretty new to the establishment and the computer was acting up so it was taking a little bit longer than usual but no problem. She was absolutely wonderful and very nice about everything especially since it started to get a little hectic since 3 other people walked in the door behind me. I was going to do the new Bed that's in room 11 and a spray tan. I decided I only wanted to just to the bed and wait on the spray. My point is she was such pleasure and handled herself very well with how busy it got especially with how close it was to closing time. I cant to come back for my spray tan!!!!! read more

This location is clean and the staff is friendly especially Katya. She truly knows good customer service. Coming from someone who also spends hours at a salon constantly smiling, trying to making clients and customers happy, she really really does an excellent job. Not only does she know what she is talking about regarding the tanning beds, packages, lotions, etc. she is just extremely kind and friendly. I really like that she is always nice and perky even late at night when the store is super busy. The prices are a bit high but that's just palm beach in general. A ton has changed in a couple of years. So naturally, my opinion has change about this place. There are better quality beds, management listens, the staff are nicer, (which makes a huge difference for the price point you are paying here versus other tanning locals), they are quicker about turning around beds, and they offer a wider variety of tanning products, accessories, and sunless tanning stuff. I don't tan often in consideration of an entire year, but always put myself on the Stay-and-Save. I can now use these accrued dollars towards products or sunless tan sessions, which is awesome. So happy with the improvements. read more

I'm am outraged at the customer service of Sarah and the other woman working. The salon was very busy which I understand can add stress but the level of incompetence was ridiculous. As a new customer I was first signed up wrong for a tanning bed subscription instead of spray tan which is what I requested. Then I had to get back in line again to get that resolved. After 90 mins of waiting they continued to let other customers ahead of me, saying I wasn't added to the system. Which is impossible, I checked in long before the other people. Even the last customer who was called up for her spray tan agreed that I was there before her but Sarah and the other women denied that. On top of that I had to endure 90 mins of her dealing with a broken water heater and complaining about "corporate" breathing down their backs because of a pending lawsuit and how she had to cut payroll. Certainly not information a new customer wants to hear. So after 90 mins of waiting I left without a spray tan and with out a refund. Thanks for nothing! read more

They know me by name as well as my favorite beds and never fail to smile when I show up two minutes before closing! They have practically remodeled the place with their positive energy and keep it super OCD clean! I usually go to the PBT in Germantown but realized this location was much closer to my work. The staff were super friendly and helped me set up my PIN number (which I had never heard about until being at this location). There was a wait for my usual bed but they got me into a stand up right away instead. The beds were clean and rooms were well set up per usual from PBT. The nitty-gritty: This place get's three stars for price-gouging and how their membership works. Tanning products: They sell overpriced tanning lotions that won't get you any tanner or make your skin any healthier or vibrant than if you bought something a 1/10th of it's price. The most entertaining thing for me is listening to some of the sales girls try and pitch why they are so great, being someone that has a hard-science background it gets amusing quickly, but never argue or say anything because it's not cordial, and there is no point. They clearly make some type of money off selling the products, and the company I'm sure forces them to push them... so I get it. It's all junk though, save your money. Membership: So you don't HAVE to be a member here to get a tan, they use a model like a lot of other businesses in the good 'ole US of A use and that is to charge an exorbitant amount of money if you're not a member, and a subjectively reasonable price if you are one. Hence forcing you to become a member if you plan on using their services any more than once every other month (unless you're stupid rich and/or loathe memberships of any kind). You have to pay up front to be a member, and then every month thereafter, so the upfront cost will be greater than the monthly cost and all of that depends on various things such as the level you enter in at (they have 4 levels I believe) and whatever other specials they may be having at the time. You may "freeze" your membership at any time, however you still have to pay a monthly "maintenance fee" which I believe depends on your level, but it could just be a flat fee. It is much lower than the membership, but it's not free keep in mind. If you cancel for any period of time, you will need to go through the sign-up process all-over again. Beds: At this location, they only have one level 2 stand-up bed, which seems ludicrous to me. Although I have no statistical data from the corp. to back-up anything I'm about to say, I would have to imagine that their level 2 is the most popular level. There is often a wait for the stand-up machine. Why not get rid of level 3, who uses that one anyhow? Just kibosh 3, bring down 4 and then you'll 3 levels total with 3 being the best, and room for more beds. I can't imagine many people using level 1 either given how uncomfortable those things are. Bottom-Line: Tanning is a vain activity with related health-risks, so I think to most people using the facility you know there are many costs associated. Those among us that are filthy rich can likely afford to have a nice bed in their home, so why not mitigate some of those costs by not blowing 125 dollars on a single bottle of lotion. Sure, some of them smell nice: put on some Hawaiian tropic and some perfume/ cologne and then knock yourself out. read more

I've been a member for almost two years. I joined because there were not a lot of other options near where I work/live. It is expensive, I pay ~ $100/month for unlimited tans at whatever level I want. It's probably too much but I'd don't want to go in the low level crap beds anyway. The staff is very hit or miss. Some of the girls there are awesome and some are so rude/disgusting. I go there about 3 or 4 times a week. Every time I go I hope that Erica is working because she is so nice and helpful. No matter how bad of a day I've had, she seems to care about customers and I always walk out smiling. Last night I went in and some large girl does not even know my name even though I am the highest level member and go so frequently. She was rude, smelled, and considering how much money I give to that place a month the least they could do is have friendly people working that know your name and aren't disgusting/rude. It's hard to rate this place because when the good people/Erica are working it's a 5 star place, when the rude/disgusting people are working, it's 1 star. read more

I was on a plan paying $89 a month for spray tanning. Their employee made a billing error and they refused to honor what I was told ("Sorry, she shouldn't have told you that even though she probably did. She doesn't work here anymore"). This cost me $160 but cost them my $1000 a year. I found Neutrogena's spray product and it's excellent! Don't waste your money here. read more

Stay away from this location, I recently stopped by to tan and the manager Marcus was beyond rude, this is the 2nd time I have let this go on. He was on the phone arguing with someone then rolls his eyes at all the customers. Just a horrible experience I had there. I always tan at different locations but since I work at the hospital across the street I stopped by here regretfully. Never again will I go to this location. Marcus and all his coworkers treat the customers like dogs, I have witnessed them asking customers to leave a nice review and they will give them free spray tans. I bought three spray tans as a package and the girl at the counter told me they expired January 1st (I remember this because I was planning on getting a tan for christmas), so I used 2 and the third one I went in late december and they told me it expired! Sick and tired of this place not opening on time. Some of the staff is dedicated and ensures the store is open on time. Others have a lack - luster attitude and arrive 5-10 minutes late leaving guests waiting in the parking lot. Twice I've had to make a call to the nearest location to inform them that no one was there to open the Shady Grove location and was unable to use the services I was paying for those days after waiting 15 minutes for no none to show up. Very annoying considering how much you pay. Would stop going there for this reason if it weren't my only option. read more

Out of all the businesses I have visited since moving to MD about 3 years ago, this Rockville location of PBT has quite possibly some of the best customer service I've experienced. Both of the young women who have helped me this week ( I used the tan free for a week promotion) were extremely knowledgable and helpful, and went above and beyond to answer my questions/address concerns. I was using the free week to determine if I would really want to make the 15-20 min drive here but honestly I feel like they earned my business so I'll make it work ! I love this location! The guy behind the counter this past Wednesday night was SO amazing. Apparently the computers were crashing all day (I understand this problem more than anyone- I work at a restaurant and have had many a panic attack when the computer crashes and I have 10+ orders I need to send through and 20+ customers yelling at me), and he still managed to get me in 10 mins before close. Not only this- but apparently when I had placed my account on hold in November- I was charged a $10 fee every month thereafter because I had changed my credit card so the monthly payments were not processing. He somehow managed to resolve these fees and allow me to continue my membership- and he made sure to let me know of my account benefits and discounts. Amazing customer service, and the hours here are awesome- I can fit it into my schedule after a 9-4 job followed by my 4-10 job. I'll be back tomorrow! read more
