I thought I would come back but I definitely won't! I came yesterday because the place I normally go to did not have any openings. I called here and they were able to fit me in at 3:45pm. I wanted a full set of acrylic with gel polish on top. That was it, no other service. I arrived early and they asked if I wanted a Pedi. I had not planned on it because I had on a fresh coat I had done myself ...but when I arrived early and they asked, I decided to go for it. I was wearing tennis shoes at the time... I always bring slides when I know i'm going for a Pedi and I even thought about it when I left my house but I had decided not to do a Pedi so I didn't change my shoes (it's winter , i usually do my own toes in the winter) Anyway after the lady was done with my nails I asked her if she was sure it was ok to put my shoes on now? I could tell she was in a hurry because she did my nails faster then anyone has EVER done. (This is actually why I thought i'd come back. Because even though it was NOT the most symmetrical job; for the speed I would have come back). She looked at them said they would be fine... I would have been happy to wait under a lamp for a little longer, but she was in a rush to move me along... Which was super odd since it was only 4:30, they closed at 7pm and I was the only customer in the building. Any how , sure enough when I got home and took my shoes off the big toes were messed up. No big deal I thought, I'll just go in the morning and have them fix the big toes for me. Well, when I came it, it was the same lady who did my nails for me and I told her what happened and she said when you come to do your toes you should not wear shoes. I said I know, I just wasn't planning on it. I came for a nail appointment. She went on to repeat herself again and I said "I know, I'm sorry, remember, I came early and I was going to just wait (I had emails to check) but when you asked me if I wanted to get pedi first? I went ahead and did it"! AND YET she still goes on to reprimand me. Telling me about needing to wear flip flops, when I come. At this point I'm now annoyed. I said "yeaaaa, I'm putting it on you guys this time because I even asked you if it was too soon to put my shoes on AFTER you had completed my nails and you said yes". Should that have been the end of the conversation? I think so! I think it already went on too far but she STILL continued to repeat herself and reprimand me for not wearing flip flops . Now I'm pissed. I said no shit! I've had my nails done before. I'm an adult woman, I know how it works. I asked you if was too soon you said it wasn't... I tipped you guys well yesterday and your going to fix the toes for me. Yet, she still tried to go on and tell me about myself!! I shut it down after that. This banter was totally uncalled for and I wasn't having anymore of it! She ended up repainted the two big toes. One coat and 1 top coat . So now I'll have to have them redone sooner then I would have had to. I should have known, because she seemed annoyed when I showed up early. She rushed thru my nails. She told me they were going to charge me to remove the little bit of gel polish I had on my nails. Yes, this is a typical charge for professionally done gel nails. However; that was not my case and I did mention to them, that I had done the color at home with my own nail polish. Tons of RED FLAGS I was a first time customer and she had NO customer service and had even less when I came back. She was confrontational when she had no need to be. Maybe she is over worked but that is something she should fix and not take it out on customers. On another note the guy who originally did my toes did everything right! Took his time, used several coats. Clean symmetrical job. I give him 5 stars and maybe I'd come back only to him to get a pedi done....but after this I doubt it.
Hollywood nails was great! They had such kind customer service and took great care of me. My nail technician was amazing and had great attention to detail--I love the almond-shaped Barbie-inspired nails she created for me
I didn't have time to go to my usual nail spot in DC so I thought I would try Hollywood nail spa based off the yelp reviews. When I arrived it was completely empty. It was a Monday evening so I'm sure most people came over the weekend. In any event, when I arrived Christy was getting her toenails polished by Kim but I was at least acknowledged. I told them I wanted to get a fill and a pedi. That was my original plan. I lucked up so I thought and got Christy. She had received many wonderful reviews. I knew I would be pleased: Christy advised she was going to do my nails and someone else was going to do my pedi. I was fine with that since I didn't have an appointment. She started my nails first. As I mentioned before, the shop was empty. This young lady rushed though the entire fill process, she was extremely rough and was not engaging. It was an awful experience. Kim stood at Christie's station the entire time while they talked in their native language. Kim even had the audacity to point to one of my nails and make a comment in her language. I felt undervalued as a customer. I continued to let her finish my nails but I chose not to get the pedi. There was no way I was going to give my money to a place I didn't feel valued. Overall, Christy did an okay job on my nails but her customer service needs work. I will not be returning. Overall, I would advise not to go to this place if you're looking for good customer service. They are seriously lacking in this area. I wasn't even offered any water. Oh but Christy did finally ask me my name after she finished polishing my nails and she said I looked unhappy.. smh
Worst nail salon I've been to since moving here. I don't know if they have a trainee working there or what but she did my nails and they look atrocious . They're crooked , some of my nails don't even have a topcoat , they're patchy, there is bumps and she took an hour and 30 minutes to do this horrible job. But it gets WORST. A week after getting my nails, my nails started pealing underneath the SNS . I've already had three nails peel off . It has now been 2 weeks since getting my nails done and before my nails were long, now I 2 have very short broken nails on the nail bed, and all of my nails are chipping. DO NOT COME HERE. I don't know what type of SNS they use but this has NEVER happened to me. I will NOT be back.
I gave christy a 1 star because there is no zero. I don't know if she is the manager or not but below I posted a same day pic of Wednesday afternoon. On the way home I noticed the huge gaps with faded lines she left. So on Thursday I called to to come in the same day she told me to come Friday. I left work today early thinking she will fix it. She denied me a $60 refund and a to fix it.
Worst place! Worst attitude! Worst management! Worst customer service!!!!!!! They are charging more than every where else and give you the worst nail possible, they had one person name (may) who was very nice and she use to do my nails very good but she left there !!!!!! And now that place doesn't worth anything. By the way even after all I said, you decide to go, DO NOT go to Christy she is the worst !!!!!!!! Look at my nails ! Very thick and ugly . I wouldn't even give 1 star if I could . There are lots of other places to go ignore this one or you regret it . By the way they reject to fix my nails !!!! Who dose that ?!
I ended up with fungus!!!! Cristy did my nails I called to speak to the manager she said "HE" would call me back. Haven't heard from him at all. they won't even answer my calls now...Horrible horrible experience!!!
******UPDATE***** The work has gotten better and my nails are holding up well in between appointments. *Well-manicured fingers crossed* that it stays that way... ***** END UPDATE***** Docking a star because the work looks good, but so far is not holding up very well. I keep consistent appointments, and am in here every other week for a fill, but I have needed repair for broken nails almost every time I've come. During my last visit, Christy made my nails thicker (which I'm hoping will prevent the absurdly high number of breaks I've had), but a nail she did not repair properly finally broke off... as I told her it would.(The tip broke off and I glued it on until I could get to the salon and get it fixed. As opposed to putting on a new nail or drilling down into the crack and filling it with fresh acrylic, she just put some acrylic on top of it. Needless to say, the nail was not strong and it snapped off as I was washing my face in the shower this morning). Now I have to find time to get to the salon during the week... Not happy about that. I work no where near this salon and don't like being inconvenienced because somebody decided to take a short cut with my work.
I didn't like the nail tech didn't ask if I wanted a cut down and cuticle clean up before starting. I didn't want my nails cut down nor I didn't want my cuticles cut down. Other than that, she applied the gel color nicely.
I used to come here all the time but at this point I will not be returning indefinitely. I came here for my birthday weekend activities with my bestfriend from out of town and suggested we come here since I came often. She had a tech named Bianca who literally took 2.5 hours to do her nails and at the end they were done so terribly they WERE BENDING. I've never seen acrylic bend. She had no clue what she was doing. I thought I'd give them one more chance after embarrassing me. I came 2 weeks ago with my sister Bianca did my nails this next time. She did a terrible job And took 3 hours to do my nails as well and the manager Christy was rushing her as appropriate. The filing alone took almost 2 hours because she told me she could do coffin but yet was trying to figure it out as she went The woman who did my sisters nails also did a terrible job. We both got gel and the acrylic and gel did not last! Our nails literally broke in a week and I was going on a cruise and wanted them to be cute After calling and complaining I came in and christy fixed a nail that broke the day after I got them done . The acrylic was so thick I had to go to another nail salon to fix it will not be returning ever!
I went in on a Sunday as it was the only nail salon in the area open before 11am. Christine opened the salon just for me, and she began her work. She is so sweet and funny, she made me feel so comfortable as we were the only people in the salon. As more people walked in, she called her employees who promptly showed up. I showed Christine an image of what I wanted my nails to look like and she did exactly that! The price is unbeatable, and I will definitely be coming back fo see Christine.
Got my nails done here because they were one of the few places open on MLK Day. The quality of the gel and chrome was not the greatest and started chipping 3 days later. I even had my nail break. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED for the amount of money I paid.

Only went here because I just moved across the street so I tried to give them a chance but I so disappointed in my toes that I just paid because I was in a rush !! But all I got was pink powder on my nails, tried to get French on my toes but it was an epic fail so I told her not to do it and just leave the pink and even that was terrible . I have to go somewhere else to get a color change after they got paid $130 .... Doesn't even look like I just got my toes done I'm so mad ... Don't even waste your time read more

Y'all, Christy (unsure of spelling) did an acrylic set for me (regular polish was $35 without tip) and it looks awesome. She was incredibly sweet, explained the process to me as she could see I was interested, worked fast, and gave me exactly what I wanted. I absolutely recommend. read more

My girl friend Kiana wanted to get her nails done near our store and how convenient we had Hollywood nail salon next to us. She was welcomed by a friendly staff and taken care of. She even said she loved the work that was done. I haven't ever heard her say love to describe her nails and she did! Success! Were happy customers and highly recommend them! read more

Love their powder dip mani and highly recommend upgrading to the stone massage pedi. Clean and modern with friendly staff. It's in a bit of a little hidden location but, worth finding! Also convenient to Home Goods, as well as other shopping and dining. Be sure to treat yourself; you won't be disappointed. read more

My favorite salon in the Gaithersburg area. I feel very lucky to have found them! They always provide excellent service and have a wide variety of nail colors and services. I also get my eyebrows done here and have no complaints. Ask for Christy or Mai, but anyone can and will do a great job! read more

They were very nice and good customer service, the thing was they (christy) was not very experienced on the style I wanted ( the so called baby boom or ombré French) and it was kind of an expensive mess, she was very distracted by the unimportant fact that there was no wifi and no music and so the full set took longer and was not to my full satisfaction and I'm not picky. I guess I'll give them another chance, I always do, but so far first impression was not very good. Ok so I went again not happy with my nails and they fixed it right away free of charge of course and very apologetic accepted that they were not very experienced on that style which I appreciate the honesty. Now I'm very happy with the results and will keep coming back, customer service excellent, not easy to find at just any nail salon. read more

I love Christy. She does amazing work. I came in after I went to a different salon for dipping powder and they completely wrecked my nails. Christy did a full new set in less then an hour. They look exactly like what I wanted. Ask for Christy you won't be disappointed. Call ahead to book appointment read more

Christy did my acrylics for prom night and I wanted a certain look but she helped me see that it wouldn't have looked good like that and she did them the way she saw it and it was perfect. Also amazing prices and the place was very busy and they juggled it perfectly. Will definitely go back. read more

Absolutely in love with Hollywood Nail Spa!!!! Christy does such and amazing job every time. My nails look flawless and last without breaking. I would highly recommend asking for her! Side note: this place is slightly tricky to find, it's located across from shadowland on the same square building where advance auto parts is! read more

Visited this nail shop today as a walk in. Unfortunately I don't remember the names of the people who serviced me. Anyways, as soon as I walked in, I noticed how clean and vibrant the place look. I was greeted by a gentleman who was very pleasant. I requested to have a pedicure and gel full set. He told me to pick my color and he will start my water for the pedicure. The guy who greeted me did my pedicure and he did a really great job. I love that he took his time with each toe :-) he made sure I was completely satisfied before he had another person polish my toes. Next was my gel full set. The lady who did my toe polish was the same who service me for the full set and she sits in the 1st chair when you walk into the shop...Overall she did a pretty good job. I requested for the coffin style shape and although not perfect it was really good and I was satisfied. I would definitely visit this shop again when in the area and recommend to others. read more

I came here for the first time needing a new salon closer to home and I really think I found my new go-to nail salon! I saw that everyone kept mentioning Christy doing a wonderful job, so I decided to make an appointment with her. I'm always alternating between gel vs. dip powder nails. Well this time I decided to go back to dip powder and I am obsessed with my nails! Christy is so gentle when she does nails and she's super sweet too! She's amazing, so I'm definitely coming back! Appointments may take longer than anticipated, but I think it's well worth it coming here. I got a little confused on how to enter the nail spa, but it's right around the corner of the huge sign that says Hollywood Nails Spa. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone needing to trust a nail salon. I get my nails done regularly and this place has really given me a great first impression! read more

I had to update my review from last year's, I just left the "spa" 20 minutes ago and these are my nails. I'm sure Christy does better work but she rushed my nails and didn't do the necessary steps for the best results. I'm never returning. I still have crusts from the nail polish on my fingers and there's barely any fill in my nails. Also underneath wasn't cleaned up properly. read more

I highly recommend all you girls out there still sporting the acrylic take the leap to powder dip. I've been doing acrylics for 20+ years and Kristy suggested powder dip one day. I'll never go back!! Thin strong and so natural. They grow out so nicely too. Don't need to go in but every 3 weeks. Try it you'll Love It!! read more
