Great service, and Mike was able to for me in last minute to fix another salon's issues! Needless to say I am just getting back from a two week vacation. And Mike's handy work survived two Baptisms and prep for a wedding! My cuticles are shot (but they never do well) but my nails hardly have any chips!
Decided to try out this nail shop since the other shops in Germantown left me less than satisfied with my nails. I called LuX nails and described how I wanted my nails shaped and designed and asked them to recommend someone good. They listened!!! MAY was amazing! Her attention to detail is remarkable and My nails are flawless. I did a dip powder over my natural coffin shaped nails. She did a beautiful job with my hand painted custom black French design. I will be returning!
I came here yesterday, and this is my first time going to lux nails salon. Kimmy the one take care of me. She doing very great job! Also this is my first time using acrylic nails. And its its very cute! I gave here photos that i want and she improvise to make it even better! She is very good doing her job! And as lux nails salon, iys clean and they hale lots of colors, the pedicure also great! Thank you ! I will definetly come again and let other know about lux nails salon!
The nail salon is sparkling clean. Upon arrival, the staff immediately asks customers to wash their hands. I appreciate this because this means people are only touching the polish and such with clean hands. There are also separators at each seat between customers and between customers and staff. I called around 3pm to see if I could book 2 pedis for 4pm. They said they would only be able to accommodate us as 4:45pm (even though they close at 5pm), which was fine. A few minutes later, they called me back and said a 4:15pm was available. We ended up sticking with the 4:45pm, but appreciated the call back. The staff was super nice. They tested the color on one toe and made sure I was happy with it before proceeding with the others. The nails were well-manicured and the polish was even and dried quickly. I'm very happy with the pedicure and think I've found my new go-to nail salon!
I wanted to try a new nail salon outside of my regular spot and my friend recommended Lux Nails. Located in Kentlands close to Yoyogi Sushi and Colombian Breeze. Plenty of parking spaces and easy to locate. The place was very clean and the nail polish selection wasn't overwhelming! Make sure to make an appointment because I noticed a few walk-ins that tried to get serviced but they were already fully booked. Friendly staff and reasonable prices! The technician I had was very nice and took her time with my pedicure. There was one little mishap that happened while she was cleaning one nail but she was apologetic about it! Overall, I was happy with the service and nail color I chose. These are some happy feet and ready for the beach! The place is under a new management so they gave me a $3 off voucher for my next visit and a promotional item. Looks like I found myself a new nail place!
It was so nice to finally treat myself to some self care. The shop is well maintained and they follow every protocol and have even added special spacing for your safety. The service itself was a really great experience. The ladies are very sweet and patient. They will work with you so don't be afraid to speak up if you don't like something! Julie did my nails and although it took about 1 1/2 hrs, she took her time and made sure everting was perfect & precise down to a T. Booking was also very easy and I was seated in my chair for the time I made my appointment. I'll be booking appointment again with these ladies again for sure!!
I was in a bit of a crunch to get my nails and eyebrows done, so I came to try LUX. I'm glad that I called a few hours before to make a 5 pm appointment because when I got there, there were a few walk ins that got denied because they were booked. Therefore, call ahead to make an appointment, so you don't have to wait long or be disappointed that they can't take you. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted, but the nail tech suggested that I do SNS, since I don't get my nails done often. LUX has an assortment of colors to choose from for polish and SNS dip powder, and they are reasonably priced. They don't charge extra to add tips if your nails are short, and don't charge extra to change the shape. Some places will charge more if you want coffin shape nails. Since I wanted a different color for my ring finger, the nail tech was very accommodating and repeatedly asked if I approved of her work. She was very friendly and professional. She was even able to have enough time to do eyebrow waxing before the next client showed up.
I got a mani pedi (regular) with paraffin treatment for both hands and feet. While the technician took her time smoothing out the callouses on my feet, the paraffin she applied did not quite cover my whole foot, specifically the toes which I really needed. When I asked her to correct it, she didn't exactly put a lot of effort into it. By the time she got to my hands, I think she realized she was running out of time. She spent way less time on my hands. No hand massage, and the polish is quite a wreck even with three coats of color. When it was clear she was not going to clean up a particularly untidy edge, I asked her to do so. Again, she didn't exactly put a lot of effort into it. For $85+20% tip, this is not an experience I will recommend.
This place is awesome! I came here for a gel set and brought my mom for a pedicure, and everyone was so nice and super chill. Usually when I go to a nail salon, it hasn't always been the most welcoming environment in my opinion BUT everyone that works here is so kind. To top it all off, I showed my nail tech (sadly didn't get her name) a picture of what I wanted done and she delivered PERFECTLY. She was super detailed and made sure to check in with me to ask if anything she did was hurting me. She went above and beyond my expectations and it took way less time than I thought it would. I am def coming back here again because I'm so happy with my results and with the service here!

This is the best nail salon I've ever been to. There was great customer service and the nail techs are so kind they know how to do a variety of different designs and styles. They also have all the charms, gems and colors you could ask for!!! read more

Tina is amazing. I came in with a photo of what I wanted for my nails for NYE and she delivered. We tried a couple different colors to get it right and I'm sooo happy with the results. I think I've found my spot for my nails (the one or so times a year I treat myself to it)! read more

I am EXTREMELY picky about nail salons and Kimmie is the Best! My gel manicure lasts for so long! They are so good about cleaning up cuticles. The place is super clean and never super packed. Customer service is amazing. I've been coming for a while and refuse to go somewhere else! In love read more

Love the way my nails turned out!! Lux nails are very attentive to COVID protocols. They have barriers and shields in between all the seats, take everyone's temperature, and leave the doors open. The nail technicians are all so friendly and talented. Thank you! read more

Honestly the worst experience I think I've ever had at a nail place. I was a walk in and they took me right away which I did appreciate. I asked for a red french tip and she said okay but then it was so messy. She cut my fingers several times. I wasn't happy with the red dip tip so she painted over it with gel and said the tip wouldn't be visible underneath. It obviously is. The nails are lumpy and messy. While doing gel it got on the clear divider and when she moved my arm the gel got on my sweatshirt and they tried to blame me for it/wouldn't help in any way. It was clear I was super unhappy and they still charged me full price, plus I will now have to pay for dry cleaning too. read more

Went today for my very first time. The nail tech (didn't catch her name) did an amazing job. Kept my shape the same and did my nails exactly how I like. I like them short and natural looking and she did just that. Only thing I wasn't too happy with is that when I made the appointment I mentioned I wanted designs, but the tech that did my nails apparently doesn't do designs and told me some other lady would do the designs. Then towards the end she said "oh she too busy to do your designs" Overall good visit. read more

This is my second time visiting Mei at Lux Nails for You. My first sns manicure lasted 24 days (and counting!) with no peeling, chipping, or lifting. Mei is personable, meticulous, and always does a great job. While there is some inherent risk doing anything outside of your "bubble" during the pandemic, the salon follows CDC guidelines to the best of their ability and I felt safe getting my nails done. read more

I came in for a mani and pedi and removal of my powder nails, the woman doing my toes at the time made my big toe bleed from attempting to remove dead skin and didn't even apologize.. Then when she was doing my nails she rushed towards the end because a lady came in and needed ONE of her nails fixed, which to me felt rude. due to her rushing she left multiple little spots of nail polish around my nails and even left a part of my nail without nail polish which she 'fixed' because I noticed. she threw a slab of paint on it and that was that. I tipped her and left but my overall experience could've been a lot better. I do not plan on returning. read more

Highly recommend Lux Spa: great customer service and excellent services all for super prices. Ask for May if you want a fabulous manicure with gentle yet thorough attention to detail (I'm an artist and always have ink and paint under my nails but she makes them beautiful again every time) AND she makes some gorgeous nail art that lasts a long time (solid 2 weeks)!! read more

I came in on a referral and saw a lady by the name of Yen. She was very nice hospitable took her time when giving me a pedicure she was very detail-oriented. Never once spoke in her language while giving me a pedicure. Yen made me feel so comfortable that at times I was dozing off. The place itself is superb, very cute and pleasant staff. It is also a very clean establishment. I highly recommend anyone that wants to get their nails done to give this place a try and please ask for Yen. I know I'll be back very soon. read more
