I was doing research on the best place to get a gel pedicure in Montgomery County and Iris kept popping up. I called and made an appointment and I don't regret it!! It was so quick and affordable compared to other places in the area. I got my toes done about 2 weeks ago and they still look great! It's a very chill place and the employees were so friendly. So annoyed that every time I come here, it feels more and more rushed and inconsistent. They scheduled me for 11:30 am, didn't start until 11:55am. And when I explained I may have to cut one of the services due to another appointment scheduled for 1pm the front desk person, insisted tha it's my fault because I was scheduled to end at 1pm anyway. Only for the tech to follow up and stand 10 toes down on that fact that I would have ended at 1pm. I point out if that's the case and they are starting about thirty minutes late wouldn't that mean I would now end at 1:30pm . She now utterly confused just shook her head no- the math - not mating. Nonetheless I was able to push my other appointment back by thirty minutes but trying to explain that it's still not fair to me to now have my services rushed through! I guess it's time for me to find a new favorite location. I won't be gaslight anywhere. F that. read more

Once again, another amazing experience at Iris Nails! Joyce is incredible& is always so kind. The space is small but from the very start the service is top notch. From offering you a basket to put your things& set it beside you, to the regular pedicure included hot stone leg massage & shoulder massage while your toes are drying, they truly offer the best service I've experienced. The salon is clean - using both cleaning solution and tub liners, I appreciate the attention to detail. I also love having the option of pulling the sheer curtains to separate you from the person beside you. This place is a little gem & I always look forward to seeing Joyce! read more

My friend took me here for a pedicure. It was very relaxing experience. I enjoyed reading the different benefits for the different scents and while I don't believe a brief encounter with the scented water will revolutionize my life it was nice to pick one according to the perceived health benefits. The massage chairs weren't anything special and intended up turning mine off (I'm not a huge fan of massage chairs in general). The staff was friendly and did a lovely job. read more

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A KOREAN NAIL SALON FOR FOREVER!!! My uncle was actually the one who recommended this place and I am so grateful I came! I tried 3 different salons before this one none of them cleaned or moisturized my nails (I have really dry skin and work in the service industry so my nails and hands are always busted ). They do a hand and shoulder massage as part of the service which is always a nice touch! Susan helped with the removal of my previous set and Joyce was my nail tech! Both AMAZING ladies! So kind and friendly! Joyce saw a little bump on my finger and was concerned She was so quick but so precise! I would recommend getting an appointment with her! Overall, such a great experience! I visited, looked around, was greeted, and purchased a gift certificate, and was quickly on my way. If I had to spend more time in this area, I would definitely have my nails done here. As a returning customer, albeit took a mini break from getting my nails done, typically have had pleasant experiences. Unfortunately my recent experience with the male co owner has made me take my business elsewhere. I called the evening prior to my daughter's appointment to see if it was possible to reschedule an appointment to an earlier time but still on the same date. Unfortunately the nail tech I made the appointment with was booked solid. The gentleman let me know if one of the other two technicians were to finish sooner they would be able to provide the nail services at the slot I requested. I asked their names and took a very brief moment to think about who they were and whether I wanted to move forward with changing the slot. The gentleman grew frustrated and said to me well, I'm busy and have to go home, we're not even open right now. I was taken aback with his annoyance / response but brushed it off because we have all had a moment/day when we've had an off. I replied got it, never mind, said bye and hung up. Two minutes after we hung up he calls me back and asks well what are you going to do. At this point I have no desire to interact with him and reply you stated you were busy and needed to go home don't worry about it. He then informs me the appointment will be canceled and hangs up on me. At no point was I rude or disrespectful. About ten minutes later I receive a text with the below verbiage from the salon. While this is no reflection on the nail technicians there is a clear lack of customer service skills by the establishment's management. I called the following day and canceled our appointments and will not be returning to this, don't need to be mistreated. "We'll keep your daughter's appointment at 4pm tomorrow. If you want to reschedule it, give us a call tomorrow morning. Thank you!" read more

The first time I went I was not impressed. They gave me a technician with no experience and charged me well over $75 for sticky gel and an awful manicure. I returned after sending pictures through the Yelp messages. The sweet old man who ran everything so well. But he's not there anymore sadly. Friendly personal, decent manicures and pedicures with good prices, the owner keeps the store clean and updated.

Still a five star experience for me. Iris and co always make time for me for late appointments and they take great care of you. Meticulous and detail oriented, my nails always look great after a mani or pedi. I have gravitated to doing more gel manis than regular, and usually with a design element and they have various stencils, stones, stickers to really personalize the final outcome. I just got holiday nails done and Lisa was able to recreate a reindeer design on my nails just from looking at a google image. Then we used cute snowflake stickers to finish the look. Very festive. I always recommend making an appointment in advance though as it does get busy and even then your nail tech can change in the middle of the service sometimes to cater to the number of clients they are working on. My only slight quibble is I wish they had more shades/colors for gel nailpolish options. They have a lot of nice reds, but other colors are a little bit lacking in variance and options. Clean, relaxing, and nice space! Staff was friendly. I ended up getting a gel manicure. My nail tech just started working right away on my nails and didn't ask what I had in mind. In the future, I would've preferred someone to have an idea of what I wanted before jumping in. So sad to leave this review. I finally thought I found my new nail spot in the area! My first 3 experiences were flawless but this last one has left me scarred-- never going back! I had the nail tech Kathy whom I told not to cut my nails too short, but she had cut them back so much that it was hurting. I should've probably stopped then but let it go because mistakes happen. She then went on to put 6 layers of my gel polish on. I told her multiple times it would be too much. It got to the point that the nail polish was leaking onto my skin. I told her this and she got very angry and said she was going to take off the nail polish. At this point, I was over it and said yes please so I could leave. She came back after to remove my gel polish but was so angry that she turned up the motor filer on full and broke the skin around my cuticles, giving me bloody cuticles on 3 of my nails. Kathy then mocked me for being in pain, which was shocking. My friend and I told the manager and received no apology except for him asking us not to leave a review of our experience. He did nothing to solve the situation and I left Iris Nails with bloody cuticles and nails that were way too short, thanks to aggressive tech Kathy. The one and only star goes out to Joy, she is a gem! She removed my nail polish very gently and apologized about the entire experience. Ps. Adding pics of my scabs 3 days later that still HAVE not healed :( I work in healthcare and it burns so bad every time I have to use hand sanitizer. Also the nail polish job is NOT from this salon. It's from a neighboring salon who did the damage clean up work that this salon left me with. read more

If you fall asleep during pedicure, the tech is doing an awesome job!! The salon has the same ambiance as Ambar Salon in Rockville. Prices are reasonable, they offer various pedi packages. They play Christian rock, music is very relaxing and soothing. The techs arent pushy or gossipy like average salons or trying to coax in to getting an eyebrow wax. My tech was Sue, very nice and pleasant. She did a very good job and did a great job at massaging my tired feet. Paint job was good too. No smudges or missed areas. A basic pedi is $30 and they do a lot. Its wise to call a head and make an appointment. Its a very small salon so you will wait if you dont make an appointment. Best thing is that you can leave a tip on the credit card even though they prefer cash tips. And the nail salon is very clean!!!! Ill definitely return. read more

I was starting to lose hope on Germantown nail salons, but then I found this GEM! the owner was very friendly over the phone when making reservations & did their best to accommodate us in their schedule despite it being a busy Saturday! All 3 of us got pedis and the service was better than any I've ever received; you get a hot stone massage, some treatment for your heels, and the staff are really sweet and gentle too. We all left happy as clams Will definitely be back another time for a mother/daughter date! :) UPDATE: 1/25/2020 I came back to get gel with a friend and again received super friendly / warm service! Kay was especially great with a careful touch. I love how they pamper you with a nice hand/shoulder/leg massage depending on what service you get. Always a treat to come back! Never again! I bought a house around the corner a few years ago and was looking for a new nail spot. I've been here 3 times. One time, the manager was rude when I asked about and services provided with a pedicure. The pedicure was just so/so. And I would not have gone back but I wanted to try again when I needed a last minute pedicure. The 2nd and 3rd time I tried to go, both times, the guy who answered the phone told me to wait an hour or two, and gave me an appointment. When I arrived (both times) he acted like he could not find my appointment in the book, and told me to wait another 30-45 min...so I left. Thanks but my time is too valuable to mess around with like this. I found another salon that will welcome me as a walk in and keep appointments when I make them. read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! This was the worst pedi I've ever had in my life. Granted they fit me in last minute which I was grateful for but the service was terrible. She literally did my pedicure in 15 minutes. Didn't file my nails, didn't use the pumice for the bottoms of my feet and barely cut my cuticles after I had to request she do it because she wasn't going it. Basically paid $30 for a polish change. Very clean, organized, lovely salon! The best nail salon I've been to in the area. The women are very meticulous and yet fast!

Came back with my daughters for a mommy/ daughter(s) pedi treat. Love the ambiance and set up. As all places, appointments are required. I was able to schedule something for the same day and accommodated the 3 of us together. They have precautions set in place due to COVID. Only one person is able to wait in the waiting area at a time, they take your temperature and have you sanitize your hands. They have curtains set up between chairs and they sanitize the area after each customer. Kay was my Tech and she was great! Stacy was with my youngest and was so great with her. Lisa worked on my oldest and did great as well. All ladies were so welcoming and really engaged in conversation. They never make you feel like they're talking about your toes, which some places had made me feel. They take card, but prefer cash tips. So just an FYI. My girls and I really enjoyed our pedicures, which also includes amazing exfoliation and heel paraffin. My legs and feet feel super smooth! New city, new salon! I found Iris Nails online and easily made an appointment through Yelp. The communication was quick and efficient during covid times. When I arrived I was asked to wait in my car until they were ready for me. Upon entering I had my temperature taken and was sprayed with hand sanitizer. They installed glass between staff and customers and curtains between each pedicure chair. I received a Gel Manicure from Kathy and returned a week later for a Pedicure from Stacy. Both are sweethearts and did a fabulous job. The nail salon is located in the bottom floor retail of an apartment community. Parking is available in front of the salon. Super nice staff, clean establishment, and that extra "umph" that makes me want to come back. I was running late for my reservation but the staff still accommodated me and my party. There are multiple spa levels of treatment. I got the one with the hot stone massage and leg scrubs. The whole spa smells nice and there are new plastic liners for the foot baths. They also massage your neck and shoulders for 10 minutes, which is something I've never seen before at a nail salon. I LOVE it. read more

Found Iris Nails through Yelp and was not disappointed! I'm new to the area and have been trying out local salons and this is by far the best experience that I have had! Iris (the owner) and her husband (who manages the front) are amazing people and the quality of their work is outstanding. That said, here are some things to take into account: - They only take people by appointment only and have protocols in place. Everyone is wearing a mask, there are partitions between the manicurist and you (not so in the pedicure spot) and everything is sanitized. - That said, this place was packed when I was there. Each manicurist had someone and two of the four pedicure seats were filled. If capacity is an issue, I would ask how many people will be there at the same time with you. - Callus removal for the pedicure is $10 extra. Wasn't used to that. They don't do the cheese graters here. They use a special lotion and pumice stone to smooth away the calluses. - If you like nail art, this is the place to go! They can do anything. Literally. - There are lots of smaller things that made the difference for me - like a paraffin wax soak for the heels as part of the pedicure. They also place your hands in a warmed mitt with cuticular softener to help with the manicure. Would overall recommend! read more

I've visited this salon about 5-6 times mainly for gel manicures and pedicures along with an occasional eyebrow wax. However, after my recent experience, I will find a different salon. I was a walk-in client and wanted a gel manicure and eyebrow wax, and luckily I was seen right away (I arrived as soon as they opened on a Friday). My gel manicure was ok, but when I went to get my wax, salon traffic started to pick up. While getting my eyebrow wax, they tech was being rushed by the manager which was extremely unprofessional. Unfortunately, because of this lack of attention I was burned by the eyebrow wax (picture shows scarring 2 days after wax). I really wanted this to be my new neighborhood nail salon, but I can no longer support this business. read more

I'm updating my review to 5 stars. I had my second appointment today and it was just as wonderful as the first. The gentleman at the desk is always so pleasant. He makes you feel like royalty. He's just so attentive and welcoming. Bella was just as detailed and thorough as the last time. She again went over everything step by step. She takes her time and always makes sure I'm pleased with everything. She ask throughout the service if Im pleased with this or that. Really like this nail salon so far: Great customer service. Relaxing. Clean. They give your hands special treatments that are probably a bit extra at other salons. For example, they put your moisturized hands in a warm hand wrap. Then they give you a nice hand scrub. At the end of the manicure they also give your hands a cleansing lemon and moisturizing massage. This 3 step combo really softens your hands and it's lovely. I got my manicure a few days ago and my hands still feel good and aren't back to it's gross, dry texture. The gel manicures also stay on for a good length of time. They are very meticulous how they apply the gel and make sure it stays on well. The environment is very soothing - it's quiet, with Christian music playing faintly in the background. It's hidden away near some townhouses but worth the trek if you're in the area and so far one of the better salons in Germantown. read more

One of the newest nail salons in the area with a cute & chic setup. Unfortunately, this nail salon does not accept walk-in on their busy days, weekends, and was declined service immediately. The gentleman at the front desk recommended to make an appointment for future visits on these busier days. I get my nails done on a regular basis around the DMV and have never stumbled across salon that did not accept walk-ins on the weekends. The salons I've visited do not cut down their time with walk-in. The business social media and website doesn't not explicitly state no walkin on the specific dates. This is in response to the review posted by Rachna G. She arrived 20 mins late for her appointment and didn't call the shop. They were short staffed because a tech was out sick and gave her time to someone else. Instead of apologizing, she demanded the Wifi code and talked loudly on her speaker phone for 10 mins (disturbing everyone else) while picking out her color. When she realized that she couldn't be seated at 12:35 she threw a tantrum and demanded a free service. The owner and the other techs apologized several times but she kept complaining and interrupting everyone else's service. I finally spoke up to let her know how rude and ignorant she was. The world doesn't revolve around her and she doesn't have the right to treat the employees that way. I've been coming here since they opened, I always arrive on time and I've never had any issues. The place is clean and the service is great. The spa pedicures are wonderful and I get a powder dip every two weeks. If you like ombre ask for Iris or Leah. Please make an appointment and if you're going to be more than 10 mins late don't expect people to sit around waiting on you. It's not fair to the other customers that arrived on time. read more
