Ms. Daila is wonderful. She was able to fit me in for 3 appointments before my wedding at the very last minute. Been going here regularly for waxing for the last 6 months. One, prices are very reasonable compared to others in the area. She does not rush and takes her time. Very professional and listens to your concerns. She even tries to get the stubborn hairs that don't get removed from waxing. I recently had a facial which was great, and good pricing. However I have very very sensitive skin so there was some irritation for a day but disappeared the next day. I went to Dalia's for about a year but have since stopped. Every time I would go for a wax she would point out my acne prone skin, which I am fully aware of. I did not enjoy being pressured into "needing a dermatologica facial" every time I got a wax. She would point out my active breakouts like I didn't know they were there. It's not worth it anymore to be paying monthly for a wax, to just go and be pressured into buying a facial. I understand she wants my skin to improve but I tried to explain to her I am trying other things before getting a chemical treatment. Finding a good facialist is almost hard as finding a good boyfriend. You're looking for someone you can trust, depend on, and most of all- to be able to honestly give you the good AND the bad. Since I have problems getting the latter, at least I can say I've found the former! Dalia is kind of like the Israeli mother I never had. She's sweet, caring, and incredibly considerate. She works out of her home but don't let that fool you into thinking she's not professional. She's has over 21 years of professional experience and not only does she do facials, she also waxes. Talk about a one-stop-shop. Her place is large, clean and she certainly knows what she's doing. You're never going to find prices like hers and I love that she can only take one customer at a time. I was really hoping to like her but no luck. I gave her two stars because 1) it was fairly close to me (so it's a relative) and 2) it was affordable with the deal. After reading the reviews, I was prepared for a home based setting. I've always struggled with my skin and have been to expensive spas that did not help much but have also been to many facialists and estheticians in less than spa-like settings that worked wonders, so I wasn't about to let appearances stop me. I bought a yelp deal which was supposed to go for 75 minutes. She shorted me 12 minutes. First, the steamer kept spewing hot water on my arm. She never asked if the temperature was okay for my face either. To cleanse, she used a little hand held brush and ran circles over my face while telling me my Clarisonic was not good because it caused my skin to produce more oils. She used Dermalogica and seemed surprised when I said I've used them before. The face massage was rough and she kept pulling my skin downwards instead of up. (You know when you get a face massage, they gently lift your skin towards your hairline in an upwards motion?) Next, extractions were clumsy. I even asked her to be thorough because I had an event the following weekend and really needed my skin de-gunked but she only did my nose. Afterwards, I could still see little blackheads present. She asked me which brands I used for my regime. I told her I used Boscia cleansing oil... She had no idea what that was. Then I asked her for her recommendations about skin getting accustomed to medicated products and the best way to keep my skin clear. She said she had never heard of skin doing that and I should just stick to Dermalogica because they often changed their formulations so I won't have that problem. Hm... I may not know about skin care like her 20 something years, but I'm not convinced she really knew what she was saying either. The experience was really disappointing and I would not use her again, even at the discounted price. Though I tipped her (just because I'm just used to tipping after a service) but felt really bad after I left and saw my skin in natural lighting... it still looked clogged, oily, and dirty. Later, I bought a $28 Olay microderm and peel... and guess what... it did a better job of cleaning. What a waste of my money and time. I wish I could get a refund. My search continues... If anyone has suggestions for an affordable, good facialist, please share! read more

My first time there, this is my review" Great job on brazilian wax!! Made it as painless as possible and it was my first time waxing down there too! It took only 10 min and she did a great job! It hurt for only a sec everytime she ripped it off. The advil I took beforehand did nothing (I was very nervous for my first brazilian), but a little pain builds tolerance for next time! I have been going to Dalia's for years. to have my legs waxed and have sent her client for facials. Over the years, I noticed that less hair grow on my legs after regular waxeing. Dalia is an absolute gem! This was my second time coming to visit her for a Brazilian and foot reflexology. The waxing went seamlessly and with minimal amounts of discomfort. Given how thick my hair is and how deep the roots tend to be, I was surprised that everything went smoothly. She joked and talked through the process to help keep my mind off of it. For reference sake, I got a Brazilian and Full Leg Wax. Dalia had a deal on Yelp that I bought to try it out. I wasn't that impressed.. I was excited about the prices but it was a little unprofessional. She was not personable, and made the situation more awkward than it already is. The salon is in her basement, so we walked through her house, down the stairs, and then when we got down there, she just stood there waiting for me to undress in the middle of the room, without giving any direction. I didn't feel welcomed or at ease at all. On top of that, it was painful, and this was not my first time getting waxed. I don't know that the cheap prices were worth it. I was referred to Dalia's Skincare and admit I was not sure what to expect. I was however pleasantly surprised. I appreciated her professionalism and was impressed with her skincare knowledge. Because I had no idea which of her many skin treatments to try, she suggested one based on my current skincare regimen which is very simple. At 46 years of age it has not escaped me they my skin looks tired; the elasticity and glow are gone. She provided a full consultation and shared with me what she observed. Based on her assessment, she suggested I try the 1-hour Hydrating Facial. She walked me through the entire facial, explaining what she was doing, and the skincare application/product she was using. The hour passed quickly but when I touched my face I was shocked at the difference in the texture of my skin, and when she gave me a mirror I was actually stunned. My skin was dewy and glowing. I looked so much younger and knew I found something that works for me. Of course, I asked how I could keep my skin looking this way. Dalia sat with me and shared more skincare knowledge. She explained the products she uses-- a professional line of skincare called Dermalogica. Honestly, I never heard of it but what really impressed me was she only recommended those skincare items she thought would be simple enough for me to use on a daily basis. It's my first time getting Brazilian wax and Dalia made me not want to ever get it done again. My friend and I went and we got there the place was decent. She operates in her basement and it's pretty spacious. She told me to take my bottoms off and I expected a cover but there was NONE. It was so painful and she went over the same spot 4 to 5 times. When I was done she applied some lotion and she said it will prevent it from burning and ingrown hair. I thought that was normal because it was my first time. My friend went after and she gets waxed regularly and she didn't let Dalia finish she just wanted to leave. Meantime while I was waiting for my friend, I was so uncomfortable because of the lotion. I went to the bathroom and I had so much wax left and some tissue stuck in there. It was so GROSS!!!! When we got to the car I told my friend that I will never ever get Brazilian ever again and she said it was the most horrible experience she ever had for the 5 years that she's been getting waxed. I got home that night and went to shower and my "thing" was so red and irritated and burnt! We think that the reviews in yelp were all fake so don't waste your money! Go to someone else! read more
