Spray tan machines here don't work. I have an unlimited spray tan membership and just go to other locations. Leesburg palm beach is AWESOME. You actually look dark when you choose the dark spray tan color. Even with enhancers and extra $$$ I come out just sticky, not tan. read more

I've posted about PBT in vienna before because of the friendly customer service provided. There has been a lot of turnover as of late and it's always difficult to replace good people, but I have to say they have done a great job doing so! Lexy and Claire always great you with a smile and by name. I come to tan but the friendliness, customer care, and professionalism by each of them is intangible. In July 2022, I called and wrote in asking to cancel my membership. I was overseas. They told me that I had a come in person to cancel.The next time I came in person was in September. They told me to come at the end of October to cancel because billing started a new month in the program. I returned on October 28 to cancel and they said I missed the next billing cycle and now I have to pay for November as well. Ridiculous cancellation policy! I ended up paying for months that I didn't use and customer service was terrible in handling the whole matter. read more

I started out liking PBT in Vienna. I would use the sunless tanning spray booth and loved the Versa Spa Booth. However, they changed the tanning product that is used in the Versa and now when I ask for Dark Bronze I do not look like I even get any color. Prior to the product change, if I used Dark Bronze I would look like I was in the sun for weeks, so I often just did Medium Bronze. Last week, I even tried to go twice 3 days apart to see if that would help, but nothing. My family and friends said I did not look like I had any color. This is really frustrating - why pay for a tan when I do not see the results! read more

They scam and charge your card no matter how many times you would cancel or change terms they will try fool you around and make everything possible to keep charging you in order to survive. This establishment pure scam. So disappointing. I went last night and the employee at the desk was very rude and had a major attitude. They were out of hair nets and clearly out of tanning solution because I got dark color and after 12 hours of leaving it on, I look the same as before!!!!! UPDATED: THE WORST customer service. I felt like I was being talked down to, the girl didn't care to give me the time of day, AND she would not let me tan the full time. This justifies why I don't think I could ever have a membership here. Four solid stars! I think I have a sunshine button...that is to say, I love the Spring and Summer months when days are longer and I can feel the warm rays beaming on my face and shoulders. When Winter comes around and days are shorter and darker, I just don't feel as happy. The folks at PBT offer a bit of happy sunshine even when it's a snowy, gray, or drizzly day using beds that are clean, relatively new, and seemingly well maintained. You can filter out damaging rays to your face by turning off the facial tanners on the higher end beds, and getting inside one of the ultra-modern ones with tons of buttons, lights, and vents feels a bit like climbing into a spaceship:-). The line of skin care products is formidable and there is always a discount of 30% once you sign up for a subscription at the diamond level. Another great service I use (more frequently) is the Versa Spa spray bronzer. It takes about 10 minutes, looks very natural, includes an anti-aging moisturizer, and lasts for almost a week. You can choose the level (I choose lev 1 during winter and 2 in warmer months) for a natural glow all year round without any UV whatsoever. They also have some "at home" products that let you touch up in between visits, but it is a bit pricey. The girls are always friendly and helpful when I visit; they remember the regulars and accommodate requests. In the summer, I do a "cocktail" which includes a few minutes in the regular tanning bed plus a sunless bronzing spray visit. This place is open until very late on week nights and until 9 on Sundays so it's convenient for me to use. read more

I used to love Palm Beach Tan, but had not been for 4 or 5 years, so I was really looking forward to going back enjoying a spray on tan for a special event. UNFORTUNELY - - Trouble using the coupon we got from their website. Trouble parking. Trouble with staff when I balked at their insane insistence on producing a photo ID just to get a spray in tan for godsakes, and THEN TRYING TO FINGERPRINT US. Are you kidding me with that? Super intrusive amd danger, danger, danger. With you driver's license information, your fingerprints and your credit card information, they are one database hack or disgruntled employee away from utter chaos in the form of identity theft on a large and damaging scale. I was seriously disturbed at their complete and utter disregard for the privacy, safety and security of their customers. Same thing at the other locations; this crazy, unfounded, ridiculous policy of near cavity-searching cutomers is company wide, not specific to just this location. I've been a palm beach tan member for several years. I had always gone to the fair lakes location on west ox but When my work relocated me to vienna, I started to come to this one. I LOVE IT! The staff is super friendly and all learned my name and what I liked in no time! They make you feel welcome the moment you walk into the door! The machines are always clean, I don't think I've ever had to wait for a bed to be ready and they have new updated beds in which they change the bulbs in regularly. Since this is the only tanning salon I know of in Vienna I'm so grateful that it's such an awesome one! read more

2 stars for the positives in my previous review, but please read this as follows: Stopped into today and was told that last time I visited the attendant who cleaned my room found a packet of sunscreen containing SPF in my room. The girl who checked me in then informed me that the SFP damages the acrylic of the bed. I explained that I totally understand why they wouldn't want patrons damaging the equipment, however I use SPF exclusively on my face (because I don't want to look like a saggy puppy when I'm 50), and that my face never touches the bed. Because of this the SPF couldn't damage the acrylic as it doesn't touch it. She told me that was unacceptable and suggested that I put my towel over my face instead. Are you freaking kidding me?? Not only have I bought many bottles of TANNING lotion from this location all at a price point of 90$ or above to use on my body, but I'd venture to guess many women who go here wear make up containing SPF and no where in the building does it advise women who use SPF containing moisturizers or make ups to take then off. Seems ridiculous. Also I know I've bought tattoo block with SPF in it before from PBT. Can you tell I'm irritated? If you want to get scientific about it most weather resistant roofing is coated with SPF because what damages materials is UV light (duh, it causes cancer), not SPF. The only reasons to (maybe) not want SPF in a sunbed is because if an attendant doesn't clean it properly then the next person to use to bed MAY get some UV protection (god forbid). On top of that an entire bulb was out (room 13) in my sunbed. To the girls credit, she was polite and reasonable to just doing what the note on her computer told her to do, but this policy is ignorant. read more

However, today, when I called to change my credit card on file....Meredith answered and when I told her who I was (using some sarcasm and friendly joking) she hung up. (I had mistakenly thought her a different employee, Meredith apparently was filling in from another location) After repeated attempts at calling back with no success at an answer, I finally called corporate and ......"Miracle", Meredith answers. Two days later I received a call from Penelope explaining their policy about anything perceived to be a crank phone call is to not engage.....Meredith acted appropriately. I own my own business and though I may not respond to every disgruntled client, Palm Beach Tan gets an A+ for jumping on this. read more

Great tanning salon! The girls that work there are wonderful and nice to be around and talk to. Not snotty at all like I've run into at other tanning places. They have a real good selection of lotions that really do work and are worth the price you pay. They always ask about the lotion you are using but are not pushy about it. The store is always exceptionally clean and the equipment is pretty new and they always seem to be changing the bulbs. I agree with the other poster that parking is nightmarish. Maple Ave during commute times is a disaster so I go later at night or early in the morning. read more

I love PBT, I've been to a bunch of the locations in DMV, but Vienna is my fave. The bulbs are stronger so the tan times are shorter, which is awesome. The girls that work here are sooooo nice and friendly. They are always super quick and helpful. They keep me in the loop on new offers and make sure I have everything I need. I got my very first spray tan ever done at this tanning salon yesterday night and it was a fun experience. The young lady who was attending to us was helpful and seemed very knowledgeable. The facility was clean, well - lit, and spacious for such a small facility. I went late at night, an hour near closing time, and there was a line that formed (thankfully after my group) for the VeraSpa Spray Tan booth. That seemed to be the most popular. Overall, I was happy with the results. The customer service was decent. Parking wasn't an issue that late at night, but I can definitely see the parking lot as a source of complaint. There is a Starbucks in the same little plaza. Parking can definitely get crazy during the day. Maple Ave is also a pain. Best bet is to go early morning or late at night! read more

If zero stars were possible, that's exactly what this place would get!!! The worst customer service I've ever experienced from the start! They lie to you about what you're getting when you pay and treat the customers like crap. From the beginning, the girl at the front was extremely rude and acted superior to anyone waiting to ask questions about membership. I asked for a good lotion for a good price and she gave me the cheapest lotion and I said why do you recommend this and she replied, "Because it's the cheapest." As if I looked cheap or something. Then, before enrolling, I informed them that I would be out of the country for two weeks. The manager extended my membership because of my leave and when I called to ask about the expiration date, the girl hung up on me. Then I came to tan finally after coming back from vacation and the girl said I could only do a certain tan and my membership ended July 10th. Now on June 24th, the manager says no my membership already ended and I should pay for the tan I used the day before and so on. No one ever apologize for the rudeness, inconsistency, mixed messaging and such. If you don't like your job, get another one. This branch won't do well. They have terrible customer service and lie about what you're getting. Additionally, the tanning beds suck. I didn't see any color what so ever and I'm Hispanic... I tan quite easily. Would like to share my experience at Palm Beach tanning. Firstly, I must say this was the worst experience I have ever had spray tanning. I decided to purchase there 3 for 75 dollar versa spray special so that I didn't have to drive to another place that I spray that's further away. To begin with I was I warmly welcomed by the rude staff who checked me in. She suggested I purchase the special and sent me along to spray. As I left I smelled like onions and body odor as the formula they use has a distinct smell. After I left despite using performance gel I was extremely blotchy. I called the woman to ask for a refund and she replied that even though I had two left she would only be able to refund me $25 dollars. Since I had no other options I decided to use those tans and show up at Palm beach tan to only find out that the tans expire!!!! The salesperson was rude and didn't try to do anything to help. I've been going to Palm Beach Tan for almost 2 years, I stopped a couple of months ago and just recently started going again. I had a whole fiasco with my account and dealing with management was hell, long story (which is now irrelevant), but in the end when I finally got ahold of a manager she was not in uniform and refused to speak with me, not even looking at me but relaying these messages through an employee, while less than 10 feet away from me. My issue was not the account, or the fact she was so hard to get ahold of, (which were both a pain in the ass), my issue was the fact that this woman was standing in the same general area as me and would not so much as shake my hand and apologize for my troubles/not being able to help me at that time. However, this review gets 4 stars only because of the wonderful employee I got the chance of encountering, Jerry, he turned my entire visit around by the respectable and professional actions he took. I work in the hospitality business and know how hard it can be to try to stay calm while attempting to resolve an issue with an unhappy customer, but he kept his cool the entire time and never once seemed like he was just trying to please me and get me out the door, he just truly seemed to care. He went above and beyond to make my visit worth while and that is the only reason I will be coming back to this location. read more
