Absolutely awful experience at Ninotch Spa. Today was our 1-year anniversary, and I booked a duo float for my partner and me. We showed up early as instructed, only to find the door locked. Lights off. No staff. Nothing. Their sign said Sunday "By Appointment Only," yet apparently even when you have an appointment, no one shows up. I called their Bethesda location, and the first receptionist claimed we weren't in the system--even though I booked on Wednesday at 2:22 PM (I checked my call log and took a screenshot). Someone took all of my details including my credit card, but somehow my appointment "didn't exist." Then the owner got on the phone and said she actually could see me in their system but didn't know what happened. She blamed a software switch on Tuesday... but I booked on Wednesday. So that excuse made no sense. Her only solution was to ask if we could come tomorrow. No, we actually can't--because unlike her business, we plan ahead. I took the weekend off from my real estate schedule to celebrate. We booked a hotel in Tysons, hired a dog sitter, and made a whole day of this. And it was completely wasted. What really stunned me was the total lack of care. No apology that felt meaningful. No attempt to make it right. No offer of a complimentary service. Nothing. I'm a business owner myself, and I would never handle a mistake like this this way. Our anniversary plans were basically ruined because this spa didn't bother to honor our confirmed appointment--or provide any real remedy afterward. Don't waste your time or money here. If they can't handle a simple booking, I wouldn't trust them with anything else either. read more

This place is amazing! My daughter surprised me with my first facial experience as a gift. I wasn't sure what to expect as a man getting a facial. But once I arrived I was warmly greeted by the host. Then I was greeted by Tatiana, whom was also welcoming. I must say that Tatiana is a master at her craft. Because after my facial I asked why don't more men get this done. My face felt so clean and fresh! I will definitely be going back for another facial and perhaps try one of their other services. read more

Came in for a prenatal massage. Was hoping for a nice luxury experience what I got was quite the opposite. 1. They ran out of toilet paper for the bathroom. The girl in the front handed me a bounty 2. Walked into the room and there was nothing at all spa like in there- no scents, no candles, zero massage calming vibe 3. The massage itself was soooooo average something your partner could probably do for you 4. Barely any lotion or oil used on the skin not sure why. My husband and I tried floatation therapy in early October. I had been wanting to try it for some time and chose Ninotch. The room is fairly small, it has the pool and personal shower (all participants are required to shower before floating). The spa is nice and everything was very clean. As for the float experience itself, I found it to be quite cold. The pool was warm, however the air in the room was cold so any exposed body parts were cold (my top half essentially). I was unfortunately not able to fully relax due to my discomfort. Prior to floating an employee told me to bring a towel into the pool if the air temperature is an issue. I tried it and it did work for a few moments until the wet towel became cold from the air temperature. In all, floating is a cool experience. It's import to note that my husband was not at all bothered by the cold air. So if like me you run cold, it might not be for you. I told the staff about my discomfort after the float and they suggested it the air might have been cooler than usual due to changing temperatures outside. Final thoughts: the float is priced similarly to a massage so I'm not convinced that it's a better allocation of discretionary funds. *Salt water soak review** I had heard about salt water tubbies from a friend a while back and thought I could try this as an alternative to massage/chiropractor to see if maybe it could help with the near constant tension in my calves and shoulders. Unfortunately, all the places I had been able to find had tubs that were basically closed pods... I'm not claustrophobic or anything, but I didn't think I would be able to stomach that. Well apparently my FBI agent has been on the look out cuz all of the sudden guess what I see a facebook ad for?!! Making an appointment was easy enough. Logistics are a bit tough--there garage is really confusing (even though they have signs for Ninotch but its not at all clear where to go). Just exit outside to where Farmer's is on your right and then walk around (right) towards the main highway. Ninotch will be in front of you. Upon first entering, the space looks very small, but then when they take you to your room you realize how huge of a spa it really is. Everything is immaculately clean which, frankly, is kind of surprising since after you shower absolutely everything in the room gets soaked. So, kudos there. Ultimately, the experience was not for me. I did not find any immediate or lasting relief. I was also unable to relax as I felt a tremendous amount of pressure on my neck, so I was constantly trying to readjust my body. I mentioned this while checking out and young woman at the front desk said "oh! I should have given you a neck floatie..." yes that would have been helpful an hour ago.... The biggest annoyance however was it was too cold. The water temp was fine, but every part of my body that was exposed was borderline freezing. I spent half the time debating whether I should just get out and leave...I kind of wish I had. So my biggest suggestion would be to add some sort of mechanism that allows you to communicate with a member of the staff if something is wrong. I would love to come back for a massage or spray tanning but, ultimately, the location is way too much out of the way for me. read more

I booked a 90-minute massage with Kristen and it was one of the best massages I've ever had. The spa is clean and bright and the receptionist was nice. Kristen was right on time and asked me if I had any specific issues or preferences. I told her I wanted a relaxation massage with some deeper pressure where she thought I needed it. I am terrible at relaxing, but Kristen's magic hands and soothing energy practically lulled me to sleep. She checked in a few times to make sure the pressure was good and even offered me a tissue when she could tell I needed one after turning over on to my back. Just an overall excellent experience. A few notes: 1. They validate parking for 2 hours in the Founding Farmers garage. 2. No relaxation room or fluffy robes, so if that's what you want, this isn't your place. 3. Ninotch is simply the BEST. I first started coming to Ninotch in 2016 and met Tatiana, the owner, who did my first ever spray tan. Tatiana is amazing and she literally does it all (spray tans, massages, facials -- not to mention RUNNING two amazing locations and expanding soon?!). I could go on and on about how well this place is run, but the quality of staff and services offered is remarkable. For years, I just came for the spray tans. I was terrified to get a spray tan the first time (I was worried about looking orange/fake -- something my friends had dealt with at other places), and Tatiana and her staff made me feel so comfortable. Each time the tans were perfect -- I looked natural, but like I had spent a few days in the sun. It was just what I wanted. I got spray tans for just about every wedding I was in for several years -- including my own!! In the last few years, I branched out :) and started getting other services at Ninotch, like massages and facials. Because I have chronic back pain/issues, I am a bit particular about my massages. At other places, I could not just see anyone -- often there would only be one person I could go to and see and get a decent massage. This isn't the case at Ninotch. Every single practitioner I have gone to has been incredible. Each of them listen to where I am hurting and carrying more tension/stress and every single time they knock it out of the park. There have been times where I've walked into Ninotch with a headache and a body full of tension and I've walked out feeling more rested and relaxed than I've felt in years. I've seen Gray, Maday, Hannah, Sha (I truly love them all) and I feel confident that I could go to any practictioner at Ninotch and they'd also be fantastic. You really cannot find this kind of quality (and consistent quality!) anywhere else. Because the massages (and tans!) were so great, I also decided to try out the facials and my two facials so far with Ana were also amazing. It was relaxing (even the extractions!!) and Ana provided such amazing guidance for my skin and different things I can try (at-home and services at Ninotch) to care for my skin long term. I'm telling you -- this place is amazing. You can not find consistent, quality, and amazing care like this anywhere else. And I know that whatever service I try next (I just saw they added 1 on 1 yoga, which I want to try soon!) will be just as great because Tatiana is so passionate about her business and meeting the needs of her clients (you should book a service with her just to meet her -- she's amazing!). My wife booked a massage for herself and a float for me. She said it was the best massage she ever had. This was my first float, although I've wanted to do a float/isolation tank since I saw "Altered States" way back when. This wasn't an isolation tank, though. It's a private room with a large shallow tub, shower, and a small changing area. You will not feel at all claustrophobic. Very clean. Everything was explained clearly before my float got underway. I'll briefly relate some things I learned that might be useful. If you have any paper cuts, the 1,100 pounds of dissolved Epsom salts will quickly let you know where they are. It's like squeezing a lemon but with your whole body. If you have any stressed or tight areas, they will be revealed to you. I had slept poorly the night before in a strange bed and my initial time floating was actually quite painful in my neck and shoulders. You will move in the tank, even if you are very still. There is one downside to this--if you have them playing the ambient/spa sounds, the sound will change volume as you head approaches the speakers. Next time, no music. Even with all the lights out, it's not completely dark due to some LEDs on the wall. If you want utter darkness, bring an an eye mask that can't get wet (and won't bleed dye!!). I think my biggest learning takeaway is that you shouldn't be afraid to move and change your position. My neck pain got worse and worse as I tried to stay still, but once I moved my arms and legs things started feeling much better. Finally, don't freak about falling asleep and drowning. Your head will simply not rotate that way. read more

*Spray Tan Review* I came here for a spray tan on a Friday evening, two days before a charity casino night. Molly did my spray tan & she couldn't have been more professional, friendly, & knowledgeable. They give you both a hair cap & disposable underwear. I decided to be topless for the spray tan because I was going to be wearing a backless dress & Molly made me feel completely comfortable. She asked me specific questions about what I would be wearing & what color tan I wanted & accommodated to every request. No streaks, blotchy spots, stickiness, Umpa-Lumpa color, & even no strong "spray tan" odor after the spray tan. To get spray took less than 15 minutes, so I was in & out. It's been 5 days since my spray tan & it still looks great. The establishment was very clean, the spray tan room is a little small but enough room to move around. My spray tan was $50 which I thought was reasonable compared to getting a booth spray tan. My only complaint is parking, there is a garage but it was difficult to figure out where you should park then get around to the location. It is the Founding Farmers garage & parking is also validated by voucher. Definitely recommend this establishment for spray tans & will be back for more spray tans & possibly try out the other services provided such as flotation therapy, skin care, massage, etc. read more

From scheduling the appointment to checking-in to the actual facial, it was a truly enjoyable experience. While making the appointment, Mike was so accommodating. I was going with a friend and we had to get schedules and availability synchronized and Mike went the extra mile by offering to contact scheduled clients to see if we could swap times. I really appreciated his willingness to find a mutually-beneficial time. We arrived five minutes late but we were welcomed with such warmth and understanding, not aloofness typical of successful spas. The ladies at the front desk were down-to-earth and friendly. And the facial with Tatiana...where do I even begin and how can I do her justice? She is such an effervescent and and beautiful person. We just laughed all throughout the facial. I recently had Osteochondritis Dissecan surgery on my right knee. The past week I was experiencing swelling in my knee and is having problems getting a good nights sleep so decided to try out the Floatation Therapy Pool at Ninotch. I enter the pool and floated for about 15 minutes. During this time I felt the heat around my right knee extract and swelling around the area started going down. Floated for about 30 more minutes and also sat up and just soaked my knee. I felt tense muscle and aches throughout my body. I didn't even know these aches existed in these areas. When I got out the pool there was this ora of sernity and peacefulness that I felt. The swelling and discomfort around my knee subsided. My whole body felt so light and relaxed. That night I went home ice my knee and went to bed. Haven't experience a peaceful nights sleep since my surgery, until that evening. I recommend if anyone has any type of injuries or issues with sleeping to give the pools a chance. It amazed me how the pool has so many benefits physically and mentally. This will be in my monthly regimen and highly recommend the Flotation Therapy at Ninotch. read more

I do fully body spray tans here and the experience, professionalism, and results are unmatched. They take the time to understand your preferences and give you a custom color tailored just for you. I have psoriasis, so sometimes I feel uncomfortable in spas and here it was just the opposite. The owner Tatiana was very familiar with my skin condition and made me feel at ease. She shared her passion to make her clients feel more comfortable in their own skin and that is exactly what she does. At the end, she dusts powder over your body so you are not a sticky and gross while the color is processing - a very nice touch. LOVE this place! I go to Tatiana for my massages and she's great- listens to my issues I'm having (especially with shoulders and hips) and works with me every step of the way! She will use cupping and even tape for a sports massage and sends you home feeling brand new! But make sure you book her early- she's a hot commodity!
