I had two excellent massages here previously, which is why this experience was so disappointing. When I arrived for my most recent appointment, I was told my regular therapist was unavailable and had been replaced. I agreed, expecting a similar level of service. Instead, the massage was consistently painful and not therapeutic for the full two hours. It never improved, and it was easily the worst massage I've had. Afterward, I asked about rebooking with my original therapist and was told they weren't sure if she would be back. When I got home, I checked the website and saw she is no longer there. I was also told they had called me the day before about the change, but I never received any call or message. Had I been properly notified, I would have rescheduled. This experience felt very misleading and far below the standard I had previously experienced here. I will not be returning. read more

The special has a one hour massage and 30 minute express facial, I upgraded the Facial by $49 to add Hydro Facial. I bought the expensive Spring Refresh for 379 dollars fo 3 hours 50 mins. Very surprised when I was done after 2 hours 25 mins... Lymphatic massage should have been 1 hour, Advanced facial 1 h. 20 mins. Dr Babours body treatment 1 hour. None of these treatments were the length they should have been. And there were two other treatments. The treatments were fine. Not really lymphatic massage, just massage. This was dishonest. You pay for the therapist's time and I just didn't get what I paid for. Disappointing. I will be requesting my money back pro rata. read more

Moon Lake Spa is a conveniently located and nicely appointed neighborhood spa.  We recently enjoyed two different levels of pressure massages - one more gently and one more deep tissue.  The spa was very clean and everyone was very friendly and professional.  The treatments were able to be focused on problem areas as requested.  The calm, clean and natural setting of the spa is very tranquil and calming and was an added benefit to the services provided. There is a large parking lot right out front but it can get very crowded around lunch time. read more

If you're going for the Starbucks prepackaged 50 minute massage; this isn't the place for you. - Generally I would say don't try to do same day scheduling. Although the last massage I got here did not target the areas I wanted- despite asking the masseuse to target specific areas. *I booked a target therapeutic massage , not a full body massage (I paid extra for the target therapeutic massage). When I asked the masseuse to massage the specific area again, she didn't seem to understand me and proceeded to massage a different area and give me a full body massage. I had a terrible experience at Moon lake. My husband scheduled an appointment for me after reading great reviews on the web. When I reached the spa, I indicated I would like medium pressure for my massage. When the massage started the pressure was intense and high up on the scale and so I requested the masseuse that I'd like it lower and it then became extremely low pressure. When I let her know it needed to be a little more she took it all the way up again. So there was no consistency in the pressure that was applied. They have also badly bruised my back. The massage was painful to say the least and several times I had to stop myself from yelping in pain. Massage is supposed to be a relaxing experience for the most part but this was nothing close to it. I was grimacing in pain! I had confirmed before the massage had started if I could stop the massage if I don't like it and therapist said "of course". Midway when I requested to end the massage, massage therapist abruptly left. That was quite shocking for me. Things took a nose dive when I came out of my room and I was welcomed by an angry looking masseuse with her phone on the speaker. She angrily told me to speak with her manager. Then her manager basically went off on me asking why I didn't like the massage. When I told her it was painful and massage is supposed to help you to a certain extent, she got angry and then asked me the same question. It seemed like she didn't want to hear what I was honestly telling her. She would not let me talk! The masseuse was urging me to not leave until the manager showed up at property. I wasn't going to leave a bad review after a bad massage but the I'll treatment or rather harassment after the massage was uncalled for. The therapist was pointing her finger at me and angrily asking me "didn't you say you liked the pressure at one time? Didnt you?? Didn't you??" They wouldn't let me leave. I just left in disgust. What harassment! I will never go there again and will not recommend them at all! read more

I felt hesitant giving two stars b/c the staff accommodated a last minute appointment on a Saturday, but I have had many massages at different locations and this was probably the most uncomfortable experience. I was grimacing in discomfort at least half the time I was on the table (she was digging in with her elbows and not in the right places). I had to ask her to be more gentle a couple of times and it wasn't until the last 10-15 minutes that it felt more relaxing. I don't think these are licensed massage therapists, and I should have asked beforehand, but usually with my licensed therapists I feel that they have a better understanding of the human body and different muscle groups. In addition, this masseuse (Moon), had a ring on one hand (I felt it a few times and have the evidence for it on my back) AND she took TWO phone calls during my massage time, while she was working on me, walked out once to talk to an individual in the main space and came back to continue her work. I felt bruised up and still feel that way.... She may have released some knots in my back, released some of the tightness, but still prefer it being done in a way that didn't feel bruising and leave me so sore. Will be going back to my regular therapist. read more

Purchased Groupon for massage when making appointment was told that Groupon are only for new customers. I've checked the fine print and No where it's says only for new customers. It also says that you can purchase this every 30 days. Unfortunately this made a bad experience. Was not a good idea to have gone to their website to make a purchase before. Wanted to love this place, and had received an excellent referral from a trusted source, super convenient location and seemingly reasonable member pricing... however my experience was so unpleasant. I tried to discuss further with staff, but they were more interested in arguing than heeding feedback. So, instead, here we are. I tried booking via phone and online as I wanted to make sure I did so correctly for my first visit. I found an intro package for two as new clients. I was able to confirm by phone after a few rounds of phone tag (person who answered was in an appointment, or at home at 7pm so unable to see the schedule?), I was given verbal confirmation that I booked an appointment for two that could be updated to "deep tissue." I called the morning of to find out if we were going to be in same room or separate, and was told the same room was no issue. When I arrived we were given paper work to "finish quickly," and made our way to the tables. We were waiting several minutes before the service providers entered the room. While waiting we noticed loud beeping noises like construction (on a Sunday morning) and the same very short "relaxing music" loop playing via the speaker with someone's notifications abruptly pinging at random but consistent intervals. The staff were very vocal with pressure check in's during the beginning of the session. When we were able to finally work up to the deep pressure I was seeking... I was in heaven. That lasted a few glorious minutes. Then, without notice or communication- the service provider changed. I was keenly aware as I could suddenly feel a thumb nail or two(!!), and the pressure went WAY down, to cruise ship light. Additionally the new service provider worked on a specific body area for a disappointingly long time, that had *already* been the focus for 10+ minutes. This was very jarring and despite my multiple verbal communications, and requests to change the pressure- no consistent or reasonable change was made. The area's of concern as outlined on my paperwork were never addressed, despite verbal confirmation before the appointment. I tried explaining these items to the desk person immediately- and they offered a nominal discount. They explained showed me their internal schedule and that one of their regulars was off that day... yet why was this not communicated any of the times I confirmed via phone (included day of?!). Once I was able to process what happened, I realized the session honestly just stressed me out more than anything. In (yikes) two decades of receiving an array of body work and massage services in professional capacities, I've never experienced a change in service provider with no warning or reasonable explanation during my session. The next day I called to explain my position- as I was hoping to prevent this same situation from happening to someone else at the very least. The manager? was argumentative and not receptive to my feedback. Unfortunate. read more
