James was very kind and professional, but it was clear within minutes that he lacked the experience and technique expected of a massage therapist. As a new mom with back pain, finding time for self-care is difficult, and I didn't want to spend 90 minutes on a service that wasn't helping. I ended the massage after about 15 minutes and provided honest feedback, which James accepted graciously. My biggest issue was with the front desk guy. When I explained my experience and asked about a refund, I was told that because the Groupon had already been redeemed, there was nothing they could do. There was no apology, empathy, or effort to make things right. My one star is for James and his positive attitude. Wow! Yesterday, I had the most amazing deep tissue massage from Wendy. It was so good, and she got so deep, but always paid attention to my body and was sure to ask if I was OK. I was pleasantly surprised by every aspect of this experience from beginning to end. First of all, they have a website where you can make your appointments online. You don't have to talk to anyone at all. As someone who hates the anxiety caused by being on the phone with someone and also having to look through multiple calendars, this was a huge plus for me. I booked my appointment online, received a confirmation, and received several reminders leading up to my appointment. I arrived for my 2:30 appointment about 10 minutes before it started. The check-in process was super easy, and after using the bathroom, which was very clean, I was escorted to a quiet and very clean room. I stripped down to my underwear, and within minutes, windy, entered the room. Prior to her entering, however, the person who checked me in, was sure to ask if there were specific body parts and areas which I wanted to focus on. Once Wendy entered, she pretty much got to work. She started with a hot towel on my back, before applying oil and beginning the full massage. From the moment she first touched me, I knew I was in good hands... Pun intended. I don't think I've ever had a deep tissue massage quite that thorough. I've had a few injuries and things this year, so my back, neck, and shoulders have been subject to lots of tightness, soreness, and knots. She sensed all of that and paid very close attention to those areas. There were times that she got super deep and she would check in with me multiple times to make sure I was OK. She might've been a little bit, surprised by my pain tolerance, but I was grateful that she checked in because I've had really painful massages before where the masseuse didn't even care. After the back upper body, she worked her way to my low back, thigh, and legs, which was especially nice. By the time I flipped over, I was so relaxed and pain-free that I could've taken a nap. By the time the entire massage was done, I wished I had an extra 10 to 15 minutes, just to take a nap and recover. I was in such a Zen state and my body felt so great that I didn't want to get up. When I came back out to the front, the same person who checked me in, asked me how everything went. She also shared that they have different packages available for guests, to help you make the most of your money. Overall, it was an incredible experience. I woke up today feeling fantastic. As is the case with any deep tissue massage, there are a little bit of soreness in areas where she got really deep, but the soreness is very surface level. The pain that was deep in my muscles and body beneath those areas is nonexistent right now and I'm super grateful. I can't wait until the next time I come back. Other important notes: parking is easy and free. There are several spots right outside of the entrance. The waiting area is calm and cute with plenty of seating. They played calming music in a relatively dark room during the massage, which was very appreciated. Bring cash for tips, or you can do so via Venmo, but cash is preferred. read more

We purchased a package of 10 massages and were never told it expired after six months. When we tried to use our remaining sessions, we were told the package had expired. The explanation was even more disappointing. We were told the business is in a dispute between its co-owners, that the owner who received our payment (Pim) has the money, and they would not honor the remaining massages. Customers should not be caught in the middle of an ownership dispute. We paid the business for services that were never provided, and the business should honor its commitment. Consumer beware -- a "60‑minute massage" somehow became 45 minutes. I purchased a Groupon for a 60‑minute deep tissue massage with Wendy. Based on the reviews, I was hoping this might become a regular spot. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from the start. Booking was already a hassle. The Groupon says to call, so I did -- multiple times -- only to finally be told to book online. If that's the policy, why not just say that upfront? I arrived early, checked in via text as instructed, and waited outside. My appointment time came and went. Then, Wendy walked into the building carrying items. Still no update. I eventually went inside to ask what was going on. Only then did they hand me an iPad for waivers. Then I was shown to the room and told to undress... except the sheet on the table was visibly stained. I had to flag someone down to replace it. By the time the massage actually started, we were already 15 minutes behind. The massage itself was fine, though she never asked if I had any focus areas. She also had to step out briefly because the music wasn't working. When she stopped, I checked the time -- I had only received about 45 minutes of actual massage. I asked the front desk how they calculate the session length. Wendy insisted she gave the full time because "there's a clock in the room." Only after the saw time I signed the waivers (showing them the texts to my wife was insufficient) did the front desk acknowledge the discrepancy. (It's hard to be on the table if I'm still in the lobby signing forms.) To "make it right," they scheduled me with another therapist... and then when that appointment approached, they canceled that appointment because "all of their masseuses got sick." They promised to call me to reschedule. It's been weeks, and I've heard nothing. Overall, this was disorganized, unprofessional, and not worth the headache -- even with a Groupon. read more

This massage was by far one of the best massages I've ever gotten! Lisa really took her time to get my stubborn knots to relax with a deep tissue massage. She used hot towels and amazing massage/stretching techniques which I hadn't experienced in the past. She's definitely very talented and experienced. She has magical hands with the perfect touch. The atmosphere of the place itself is very clean and welcoming! The blue color of the walls is calming and the massage table was so comfortable with a type of memory foam which I would love to have on my own bed. Pim was very sweet. I wanted to puchase a deal on Groupon at this place but not sure what type of massages I can get, so i called the place to ask. Via the phone, they said they can offer the Groupon price and all types of massages I want. They also said I do not need to purchase the deal on Groupon and told me I can pay by Venmo. They then booked my appointment, asked for my phone number, and said will send me a text with venmo account and I can provide them my email for confirmation. Sounds perfect right??? The first time I went, I was scared by it all. Then I read up on it. The next day I could really feel a difference in my body.If you're up for it, you'll be bended and stretched like never before. I have tight muscles and stiff joints. Now I'm so much looser. It works. Joey is my therapist. He's very sweet and wants you happy. I'm trying not to sound go too over the top here, but I am just being honest. Daisy is the best massage therapist I have ever had. I've always loved getting massages. I've had them all over the world. When I was in Thailand a few years ago(It's so cheap over there) I had a massage every day. A month and a half ago, I went to Pimthai for the first time, and Daisy was my masseuse. She might look small, but she is very strong. Right after my first massage, I bought a 10-session-massage bundle because I felt so excellent I knew that if I kept on coming to my body will keep feeling better. You would think that the best massages would be in Thailand, but right here in McLean is a hidden gem you NEED to visit. A little bit about me: I played rugby for 22+ years. My body is battered and bruised. I no longer play. I've broken so many things, so these I do CrossFit, and it leaves my body tired and sore. After my injuries, I have these stress points below my shoulder blades the size of golf balls, and nobody has been able to get them out. I own various massage equipment do to self-massage. La Crosse Balls, a peanut ball, foam rollers, and I wear a posture corrector every day. Anything to get rid of the pain. Since my first massage, Daisy has been my masseuse for an additional four times. And after each massage, I feel better and better. Not only am I relaxed for up to a week after each massage, but I'm getting my body back. I'm walking better, and I have better posture because my body is getting less rigid. If you have pain in your back, I cannot recommend Daisy more highly. She is strong and firm, yet I still feel relaxed after each of my deep massage sessions. I wish I had gone to Pimthai years ago. I have six more sessions to go, and I can't wait to see what the results are going to be at the end. read more

Great massage. The owner contacted me after the whole escapade and offered to give me a complimentary massage. So I took her up on the offer. The place is a little hidden but very cute. Tranquil inside and she offered me water upon entry and didn't rush me. I shared my trouble spots and she worked on them. It was a very relaxing experience and she is quite sweet and explained that she was out of the country and apologized for any issues prior. Afterwards she gave me some delicious green tea from Japan. I work in McLean and booked a last minute appointment during my lunch break because of intense pain in my leg muscles. This was one of the worst massages I've ever gotten. The 3 stars are for their customer service only. The receptionist, masseuse and owner were all very kind and accommodating; however I have left with more pain than I came in with and will be getting another massage this evening with my usual massage therapist at a different business. I felt like the massage never really began, she spent so much time talking and trying to find the right spots/positions that I never got any relief. Again very nice service, maybe I got an inexperienced masseuse but I regret the money I spent here and I'm really upset that I'm in more pain now. It's dangerous to have an inexperienced massage therapist, it can cause injury to your clients. read more

She asks if pressure is too much and takes great care of you. Second time, I got a deep tissue by Pam. It was much stronger and Pam is one of the stronger masseuses there. So, after reading so many reviews of Pim, I gave Pim Thai a try and had to go back again and it was so good. The location is easy to reach with lots of parking. Went for the Pim Thai special with slow movements, and some stretching. The stretching is a little painful for me, but after each stretch you feel so good and the slow movements afterwards are wonderful. I actually fell asleep and gently woke up on a foot massage. This was so pleasant. Agree with one of the other reviews here, if you aren't in shape, you will feel it afterwards! I have a couple of sore muscles, and I can definitely feel they got their work-out with the stretching. Like Pim's reply to that reviewer, it not only goes away but feels great afterwards. I have some arthritis in my neck and really wrecked it after lifting a heavy beehive. I read a lot of reviews and picked her based on them. They did not steer me wrong. Pim worked wonders and really helped me regain my range of motion after the maximum number of physical therapy sessions my insurance would allow did not help. The facility is nothing special, a lower level entrance in a row of townhouse like businesses in central McLean. Definitely not a high end spa but you want to go here for the therapeutics and not the ambiance. She has a package which I purchased which made it even more affordable. I have one left that I hope to use just for relaxation whenever this pandemic allows us to safely go back to having massages. read more

Vicki is the best! my husband got the massage for me as a special treat, oh boy i left that place feeling relaxed and refreshed. I had very tight shoulders and chronic back pain, Vicki really paid extra attention to my shoulders and back and really worked hard on those tight knots. i could feel the difference right after the massage.
