The servings are smaller for dinner menu items then other similar restaurants. The fresh spring rolls were not fresh and loaded with less expensive ingredients like fake crab and lettuce. A difference in the past. Our Tom yum soup hotpot came out and the shrimp was not fully cooked. They were nice and fixed it and added more shrimp. Like many other of asia Thai restaurants short staffed but better then others. Nice people but for the future I would stick to their lunch specials and only go at lunch. Curry is good. I really use to like this place but had only went for lunch. Dinner really was disappointing not sure if will go again. I found something new to love! I went again a few nights ago and just had my 3 year old and 4 month old with me. Of course my 3 year old is going to share with me, but I was having a hard time deciding between curry or pad thai. My lovely server made my dinner amazing. How? "i can do a half order of each for 6.50 each." Um yes please!!!! Portions were still huge though not quite as big as the regular family size dish and I got both of what I wanted. And thank you Pad Thai for having perfectly cooked potatoes in your yellow curry! They weren't undercooked like I've had at other places. Pad Thai is a place to check out if you're in the Layton area. Understated, family-owned operation that's all value, friendly service, and even better food. Lunch is a steal with a long list of combos, you get the choice of two entrees, along with a salad, fried spring roll, and rice (all for under $8). Sure you can go for the straight up Pad Thai, but go for a curry (either red, green, or yellow) and some sticky sweet rice with mango (dessert). This place is a delight! Recommend if... We eat out several times a month. Pad Thai is by far our favorite restaurant anywhere in Utah. We eat lunch there at a minimum of twice a month, usually on Thursdays. We have tried many menu items and have not been disappointed by anything. Our personal favorites include pad thai, drunken noodles, Thai style beef salad, green curry, Pad Ka Prow and their tilapia in tamarind sauce. The tilapia dish doesn't appear on the lunch menu but they have always prepared it for us on request. read more

I recently did a tour of Hill AFB with several other folks, and after our rather excellent tour, we headed here for a late dinner. Upon arriving, we discovered that they were set to close in 30 minutes. We asked if they'd still be willing to accommodate our group of 13 and they said they were happy to do so. The folks in our group ordered up a variety of dishes, though the most popular one was the restaurant's namesake. I ordered the pork noodle soup. I also saw orders for green curry and tom kha gai near me. The food arrived shortly thereafter in large, family style portions. I have to admit that I wasn't particularly impressed with my dish, as the pork was overcooked and the broth tasted like pure bouillon cubes and had a strange aftertaste. Everyone else seemed quite pleased with their dishes (the person in our group who got the tom kha gai spoke especially high of it), so I may have just ordered wrong. The service was very good, especially considering that we bombarded them so close to closing time, and the prices were quite reasonable. If I found myself back by Hill AFB, I'd probably give it another shot. read more

When ever I crave some pad thai this is the place to go! Its only a 5 min drive down the street and its always about 15 minutes for the food to get ready. Its quick, easy and delicious. I used to eat Thai food at the best spots in San Francisco when I lived there. I would put Pad Thai at about a 4 compared to those places. But for Utah, this place deserves 5 stars. The food has been consistently great over the 15+ times that I have been there for lunch, dinner and take-out. I read some reviews that the food was too sweet or not spicy enough. I think that it is just right for families. I always like it spicier and so I ask for there chili paste and their dry spice blend. With these the food has plenty of heat and the flavors are very good. The service has a relaxed feel appropriate for a night out. The servers seem to have a good balance of caring for you and giving you space to eat you food (but they are there when you need them). In looking back over my review, it sounds too good to be true or that I own the place. I don't have any relation to the owners or people that work there, I just want it to stay around and for new people to discover it. read more

This is my favorite Thai Restaurant in Utah for the food quality and service. The atmosphere is not great. It was an Italian restaurant at some point in the past and much of the style and wallpaper still reflect that. The food and friendly service more then make up for any efficiencies in decor. I feel like honored family with the staff. I personally love the yellow curry and they have the best Pad Thai I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. read more

When we first moved to Kaysville we had really hoped to find a good Thai restaurant so we wouldn't have to drive all the way up to Aroy-D in Ogden just to find good Thai and at the time this place was rated 4 stars so we thought it couldn't be too bad. How wrong we were. Usually I'm the type to at least finish the food even if it's just ok, but we just couldn't do it. The taste was just really off and we ended up leaving more than half of what we ordered sitting on the table. It really was too bad. Another place opened up on the other side of the freeway called Thai Rod Dee and it is much better. It's a bit of a dive and the cleanliness is a little suspect (from the outside the place actually looks like it might be closed down), but their curries and many of their other dishes have so much more flavor that it's worth it. read more

Went to the car, asked the wife and we said "sure" we'll wait till the other folks bring it back. I told dude this and went back to the car. We thought about someone else possibly picking through our food and decided to get new stuff. So I go in to tell dude, he beats me to the punch and says "The total is $22--I gave you one meal free." I said awesome, but we'd rather have fresh meals and he - without blinking an eye says "OK, that'll be $33 dollars." Umm, OK--why the diff? "Well now we're making fresh food for you, so no discount." Never mind the extra 30 mins we've got to wait. I asked him if he was sure about that, dude said "Yes" and looked at me as if I had Leprechaun sitting on my head. I just walked out and told my wife we're going to Arroy-D in Ogden and we won't ever come back. We went to Arroy-D for several months...but I'll be damned if we didn't CAVE IN! Sometimes I can't wait for that damn drive to get my Curry on!! So we went back today (I know--weak right?) Whatever, you know Thai food is awesome...so we go in and guess who's there...Dude right? So we pretend like we don't recognize each other and my family orders, I get this Shrimp and Calamari dish, family gets curry and the food comes. I take a bite and realize there is no Calamari, just shrimp--which I was tempted to blow off, but I'm still pissed at myself for caving in so I'm standing up for myself and tell Dude there is no Calamari and I don't want to wait so I'll just share my wife food. We get the bill and this kid has charged me $5 for my meal. I asked him why, he said "Well you had Shrimp in there so I only charged you half price." Nothing special at all about their food. I ordered the green curry which didn't even have the green peas or basil in it. So boring. Save your money and go down to Thai Jasmine in Syracuse or Aroy D or Bangkok Garden in Ogden. At least their green curry has bell peppers, zucchini, and okra! We also ordered the Pad Thai, nothing to rave about but surely not worth the $12. All their dishes are also $2-$3 more expensive then most other thai places. We also ordered the Thai fried rice. Had the green Papaya salad and it was fantastic and came out very quickly. Service was friendly and speedy. Place is clean and nicely decorated. Feel like I paid a little too much just for a salad but the service made up for it. I asked for water with no ice which is probably an unusual request when it's pushing 100 degrees outside. The server brought out water with ice by a knee jerk reaction but was back not a minute later to apologize about forgetting that I had said no ice and offered to bring me another. In my work travels, I'm always on the lookout for new Thai restaurants to try. This one was found by chance, just driving by. I've been there twice now, and enjoy it. Their lunch menu is typical of some Thai restaurants I've been to recently, choose 2 items from the lunch menu, and it comes with rice. Having found what for me is thai nirvana, I always ask for my favorite dish, Crispy Basil Chicken, or paw ped (i think). I feel lucky if they will do it, and this place knew what I was describing and made it for me. Very tasty, reasonable price, nice ambiance, and excellent service.
