I had used this service before two years ago and I did not have the greatest experience, because of how careless the movers were with my items. I had minor damage to an item and was missing another item entirely. However, the team was professional and Jenny worked very hard at getting me the most out of the insurance provided. Their prices are also honest and fair. The best prices for the service in Chicago. So, I decided to give them another chance. This time I had Antone (or Antwoine), Johnny and Angel. I told them about my previous experience and asked them to be careful. I mentioned not to rush to save me money but to provide quality service. They promised they would and they delivered. Apologies for the belated review, but I wanted to say Pack-Men were astoundingly WONDERFUL in handling my parents' move in July 2021. Julio, Carlos and Rene traveled 2 hours south of Chicago and moved my parents' large amount of heavy furniture to a high-rise on the north side of the city. They took great care in wrapping and moving every piece of furniture and yet loaded their truck in quick order. The team was very professional, accommodating and careful in their work. Even when faced with a tiny window of time to unload (thanks to the high-rise's rigid moving hours and a building manager with a poor, out-of-line attitude), the guys worked doubly hard and fast and got everything in, unwrapped and positioned safely and in time. We couldn't have asked for better movers and a smoother process. I will definitely call Pack-Men the next time my family or I move. read more

Mike and Ismael were amazing! They took all of our stuff down three flights of stairs only to move into a building up three flights of stairs ... no elevator. They worked with ease and I was completely shocked at how light they made some of our heaviest stuff look. These guys are one of a kind- moving machines!! We hired them after reading a TON of reviews and I'm so glad we did. They said they would around between 9-10- they showed up at 8:45, ready to rock it! We had a one bedroom apartment moving to a 3 bedroom so ample amount of stuff. They had predicted 3-4 hours. IT TOOK THEM 2.5 HOURS. Salvador, Peter and Israel are my official heroes. Salvador led the guys and they were so organized and fast. What a group- they wrapped EVERYTHING in pads/ blankets and/or plastic wrap depending on what it was. (Most companies up charge a huge amount- packmen, it's free). They were so gentle with everything and made sure we knew there was a dent or scratch in something before they moved it. They provided wardrobe boxes. And made sure none of our stuff got super wet (it rained all morning). One of our bedrooms has carpet and one of the guys was even taking his shoes off before putting boxes down in the room! Best money I've ever spent! I was looking for movers available within one week, and they promptly responded via email with availability and a quote. The hourly rate for three guys was lower than other estimates and wrapping of furniture was included at no extra cost. Raul F., Burro, and Saul showed up exactly at the time agreed upon, and they worked very quickly. They did a nice job wrapping up all my furniture, and they were very careful with my things and the walls. They moved all my stuff--including many boxes of books--from a third floor apartment to another third floor unit in four hours (no elevators). Everything arrived in good shape, and there were no dings or scuffs on the walls. I highly recommend them! read more

Several things went wrong. The estimate for my move was way under what the actual bill was despite me calling them twice making sure they included all the things I was bringing to my new home. They showed up with out the correct number of boxes or trucks needed. They had no marking utensils and used my sharpies to mark the boxes. Their labeling system consisted of Room 1, 2, 3, etc of which I had no idea what that meant. Upon unloading there were things put in incorrect boxes. Since they underestimated my move, they were still unloading the trucks after 11 pm at night and were pressing me to pay my bill when there were still items on the truck and they had not even put back on the doors to the house. Pak-Men Movers is Outstanding!!! Julio, Carlos D and Rene arrived on time and went right to work. I thought they would have to hoist four pieces of furniture out the second story window however Julio figured out how to safely take them down the stairs. This left an Box Spring which is not has heavy and easier to hoist. I am going to use Pak-Men for an upcoming move and request the same Great Team. read more

I used pac men for my recent move and was overall very happy. No fuss, easy to schedule. The movers showed up on time and were very polite and hardworking. The estimated time was almost the same as my quote. So very good. **My only complaint, and I'm not sure if this true for all moving companies, is when they arrive you have to sign a form that basically frees them of liability if they break something. It's like 30cents reimbursement per pound. So if your pricey electronics, or big screen TV breaks during the move... you're screwed. So read the fine print or make sure you are covered with additional insurance. The movers assembled and set up the furniture at the new house. All went smooth. They damaged a lot of my stuff. - Broke large dresser mirror - Broke arm off wooden statue - Broke handle off trunk - Large chip off dinning room table - Badly scratched dresser They worked extremely fast -- haphazardly fast. They tossed the stuff in the back of the truck so that it fit, but with no regard for how things are placed. I watched them chuck things on-top of other things. If you have anything belongs that you remotely care about, get a better mover and be very cautious on signing. The contract and Chicago movers liability payments are peanuts. Something like $0.60 a lb. A cracked mirror is now worthless. read more

2 stars only. Went with Pack Men due to pricing. Easy to schedule, showed up on time, were friendly, worked efficiently, got my stuff where it needed to go. All sounds great right? I want to start off by saying that 2 of the 3 guys that showed up were great. Once I got all the stuff to my new place, I noticed a blemish on my dresser and I know it wasn't there before the move. The "3rd guy" that had brought it in immediately got very defensive and started complaining. He then continued to go out to the hallway and complain more using some colorful language. Not professional at all. They claimed that since it wrapped and "never dropped", the damage must've been existing. I also just noticed some blemishes on my wooden head board (a day later) that were not existing. Also, when the "3rd guy" also hit my brand new door (that I waited 6 weeks for and had just painted) as he was moving the dresser into my bed room. Didn't say a word or acknowledge the damage even after looking at it. The damage is small but will need to be touched up. The fact that he didn't bother saying anything about it really bugged me. If/when I need a moving service in the future, I will choose another company. read more

The place we moved into has very narrow stairways and it was impossible to get our couch in without damaging the walls. Moving is an ordeal, period, end of story, however the moving company you hire can make all the difference and Pack-Men Movers did exactly that. They were fantastic! They called to confirm the appointment the day before, they called again twice the morning of the move to again confirm and to let me know they were on the way. They were right on time and the two young men they sent, Julio and Eddes, were wonderful; Professional, polite and incredibly hard working. They arrived right on time and had everything packed, moved, and stored under 2.5 hours. They were well prepared, friendly, and efficient. They even moved some furniture that was already in our new home upstairs in addition to everything they moved on the truck. The only issue we had was that there wasn't quite enough room for everything on the truck do we had to do a couple trips later with our own car. I was lucky to book them with a few days notice in the busy July 2021 season. I had direct communication with the crew members via phone a half hour before the appointment, no middle person to relay messages which is good. The crew was so efficient that they finished the job one hour earlier than anticipated, saving me money! Alexis, Rene, and Martin moved a full 2 bedroom apartment from a storage unit to a house in 2 1/2 hours, with 15 minute travel time in between. Moving is never fun or easy, but I had a pleasant experience with Pack-Men Movers yesterday. The last time I moved, I hired movers off craigslist who were just awful... they showed up two hours late and the boss man came in his truck and sat while his two (incredibly young) workers slaved away and he was rude to them. After that experience, I decided to use Yelp to find my next movers and use, you know, a legitimate business... Julio and Gustavo from Pack-Men were my movers. Both were all smiles, ridiculously hardworking, and kind. They took care of my belongings and worked with care as fast as they could. They did go over the estimated time, but it was likely because I have more stuff than I thought I did when requesting the estimate. They arrived ten minutes early, called to let me know they were on the way, and the office texted to confirm the day before. All in all, a great experience and I would use them again. read more

This company stole my laptop during a move and made no attempt to make things right. I would not recommend working with this company. My roommate hired Pack-Men to move his stuff out of our unit. We put all of his things in one room and we clearly marked my room as "Do Not Enter" with the door shut. We vacated the unit to social distance due to Covid and when I returned my laptop was gone from my room. Somebody even took the time to find and grab the corresponding charger from my power strip across the room. I called Pack-Men for answers and they said that without proof there is nothing they can do. Nobody else was in our unit. We have tapes of only their movers in the unit. After they left my laptop was gone. Hire H2H Movers instead. They were on-time, took extra care with my belongings, and even called me ten minutes after the move to make sure everything was accounted for (I didn't even tell them about my horrible experience with Pack-Men). read more

Used this company 4 times or so in the last few years. First 3 times were great and no issues. A family member used them a few months ago and some items were lost during the move only one person from my family was present and couldn't be at both old and new places. Our bad i suppose. Called to ask about lost items but they didn't do anything about it (has become he says she says situation... if you can't prove it then nothing we can do). This is a terrible irresponsible company . Moved us recently ,busted a wall , broke a coffee table and a dresser , drove their truck over my newly seeded lawn and broke a sprinkler head .
