These guys were available within a week of when I called. We needed some big pieces (fridge, stove, etc.) moved from the second floor to the first floor of our building and had a bunch of unfortunate angles/doorways to work with. These guys were terrific. They were fast, kind, and also seemed to enjoy their work (as hard as it is). They are good, hard working people. What more could you ask for? Also, the owner Mike Fallen is a person with honesty and integrity. After the move was finished he initially gave me the cost over the phone. As I was about to pay him, he called me at the last minute to tell me that he misjudged the cost and apologized, quoting me a lower cost. Instead of just taking the money he was honest enough to do what was right. You definitely want to work with people with this kind of moral character. Plain and simple: this team works hard and gets the job done efficiently and respectfully. I had to move during the last week in June, one of the busiest weekends in Chicago for moving due to lease expirations. I contacted over 12 moving companies that were unable to help me with my move. I accepted the fact that I would have to rent a U-Haul and then reached out to Fallen Movers. Mike replied faster than any of the other companies I contacted. He communicated over text message and confirmed the details of the move both prior to and the day of. Mike and his team quickly loaded the U-Haul on one of the hottest days of the Summer. If moving isn't stressful enough by itself, when I climbed into the U-Haul to drive to my new house, it wouldn't start. Mike and his crew immediately sprung into action and started looking for a nearby gas station for jumper cables. As luck would have it, one of my neighbors had cables and Mike used his car to jump the U-Haul. What could have been a brutal setback turned into a small hiccup on an already stressful day. As in, they moved a 250-pound pinball machine down a flight of stairs and across the street with their bare hands. They moved our three bedroom apartment into a truck in about an hour and a half and after a 5-hour drive every single thing in the truck remained exactly where they put it. Holy cow! They've done it again. This is the second time I've hired Fallen Movers. And there's a few good reasons for that -- 1- Flexible -- The first time I hired them, I was moving to Chicago from Las Vegas. The timing was questionable because I was moving via U-Haul. While the trip was uneventful, U-Haul is not known for being the most reliable vehicle on the road. Mike and his crew remained in touch with me as I approached and we worked out the timing so no one was sitting around doing nothing. In my most recent move, I was looking for them on movinghelper.com, but couldn't find them. I was disappointed so I made contact with another moving company. They told me there was no way they could fit in my schedule. I had to block time with 2 elevators in 2 different buildings. I didn't have much choice about what time I could move. I dug through my email (I'm a digital packrat) and found Mike's phone number. I called, left a message and the time I needed was mine. 2- Efficient -- These guys know how to pack an elevator and a truck like it's a real life Tetris game. No joke. When I looked at the size of the truck I rented, I thought I was going to have problems getting all my stuff (I'm a physical packrat with over-prepared boxes, too) in the truck with lots of room to spare. When we got to the new place, they were still RUNNING -- literally RUNNING between the truck and elevator. Their energy is limitless. Neil was even doing a few pushups. I was getting tired just watching. :-) 3- Thoughtful -- Mike and Neil were making sure to ask me where things should be placed while ensuring I had enough room to work and get things unpacked. Nothing was dropped, banged, damaged, scratched, scraped or broken. Mike and Neil always listened to things I would point out might be heavier than they look, fragile or a box packed in a way that wasn't balanced. 4- Fairly Priced -- Their work is invaluable. There is no way I could have done this myself or with my friends. While other movers might have been cheaper, I don't think they can match the quality of the work Fallen Movers brings to what has to be EVERY SINGLE job they do. Do yourself a favor -- Hire Fallen Movers for your next moving job. Save your back, save your friends, safe your stress... It's worth every penny they quote you and don't forget to tip generously. I can't recommend Fallen Movers enough! Mike (and Terrence) rescued me after another moving company fell through at the last minute and did an amazing job. 1. They are friendly, polite, and professional. 2. They arrived quickly despite traffic and the last-minute request. 3. They are FAST. They unloaded our 10-12 ft. truck in less than an hour (no small feat because it was packed tight). 4. Nothing was damaged or misplaced. Don't waste your time on another moving company, seriously. My girlfriend and I moved cross-country in late July 2014. We rented our own 20 ft. moving truck to drive, but needed movers in Chicago to help us pack it appropriately. Fallen Movers were very responsive and helpful from the time I first contacted them to the completion of the job. They offered me the best rate and service I've received while moving. The guys showed up to our apartment on time and assessed the cargo space in the truck and the furniture/boxes we had to move, before bringing boxes to the truck. Although the loading took a little longer than expected, it was well worth it. The 20 ft. moving truck was packed perfectly. Before leaving, they explained where our items were in the truck and the reason they packed it the way they did. 1,000 miles later, we arrived at our new home with nothing broken. Even after a couple sharp turns, where I ran the truck over a curb and was sure I broke or jostled stuff around in the cargo area, everything was in great condition. Props to this company for delivering great, timely, expertise service. If I were still in Chicago and moving, I would use them in a heartbeat. Highly recommended! read more

I hired the guys to help me move things out of 2 U-Boxes at my parents house. The guys were polite, on time, professional, great attitudes, careful, and just great to work with. U-Haul took there sweet time getting my boxes ready for me to take them to my parents house and I had to call Mike to tell them I was running behind by 15 minutes, he said no problem and that they will stay until the job is done. When I got there, they did a walk around to see how to move things in the house and confirmed with my mother where she wanted things. When they started moving things out of the boxes, they actually took their time to take out one box at time, unlike other movers who try to rush the move by stacking boxes on top of boxes just to get the job done, they actually treated my parents stuff like it was their own. They perfectly set up the boxes in the house, were we can access them and were not in the way of other things in the house. They guys were also very, very, very patient with my mother, who kept changing her mind on where to put things and had the guys move the furniture around a few times, until she liked it, and they did it with a smile and made sure she was happy. I would use these guys again in a heartbeat. They are hardworking, honest, and very professional, and their rates are a bargain compared to the service I got from them. Mr. Michael Fallen and I used to work at the same records management company years ago. We connected through fb, and found he has his own moving business. I kept him in mind for when we would be in need. I read a lot of Yelp reviews, and was pleasantly surprised by the star rating score his company received (or not surprised... because Mike is genuinely a really nice guy). We moved this last Friday (07/29/16) from a 3 floor walk up apartment to a 2nd floor unit 35 miles away. Mike and his crew (Neil and Terrence) arrived promptly at 10:30 and went to work. The weather in the morning was HOT! By afternoon, the sky became dark. Right before the storm hit, the crew was able to get everything onto the truck. We made it to our new place, and the torrential rain became a sprinkling. The team was very professional, and tried to work as quickly as the weather would allow. My main concerns during the move were the electronics and artwork. Fallen Movers were able to move all our items carefully and without incident. So I asked Mike how he got such a good rating on Yelp. I mean, it's almost impossible to get a 5 star rating. He told me it all goes back to the records mgmt company we worked for. Besides learning how items could be stacked up like a puzzle, he learned integrity, respect, accountability, and great customer service. I agree. Mike Fallen and his crew were a godsend on our moving day. We requested them to only move our large items and to do it in two hours (in our attempt to save money) and not only did they knock that out of the park, but then we hired them on for another hour to help with our smaller items. They knocked out that job in 1/3 of the time it would have taken us and were also super kind and a pleasure to be around. Maurice and Michael seriously saved our butts tonight. We arrived from Austin, TX around 4:30pm, heart-set on moving things in ourselves. After seeing the narrow staircases, we realized we were over our heads. One quick phone call later and we were scheduled with Fallen Movers for 6:30pm. These guys are great. Stop looking and book them now! They were very professional, flexible, and excellent at what they do. I typically try to move myself, but they are worth every penny. We bought a china cabinet from a friend who was moving and failed miserably at moving it ourselves. We needed to get the china cabinet out today because our friends were moving and Fallen Movers was the only company that was willing to be flexible enough to fit this job in to their busy summer schedule (coming in the evening after finishing another job). And we are so happy they did. They moved the china cabinet carefully, but they made it look easy. In addition to being excellent movers, they are also extremely professional. I highly recommend Fallen Movers and am incredibly satisfied with the service they provided. Professional, courteous, and all around great guys. I moved during a heavy rain storm, probably the worst weather conditions for a move, and had some big furniture (couch, large wooden dressers, large custom-built wooden bookshelf, and a old antique desk). Even though the conditions were horrible for moving, they finished the job ahead of the estimated time and with no damage. hired fallen movers for a load for october 29, 2020. was to have 3 men , two showed up , took time to look thru house to inform us that the items we had would be no problem on a 26 foot u-haul truck, 4.5 hours later truck packed but till need a to loan more, the problem is if these two guys were not disagreeing with with other like husband and wife maybe this load would have only taken 3 hrs, informed owner of the load time and the fact they told us the truck was been larger enough, check out the movers as best as possible . not my best experience in a move . read more
