Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous, Mr. Phucket. I was expecting a shipment of necessary computer equipment as required for my vocation. I checked the shipping status regularly because this was more urgent than say, my usual Amazonian trinkets. I had this shipped 2-day-air, but there were some delays and communication problems. It arrived slightly late, but I was relieved to see the online status as delivered and signed by, "A. Phucket." I thought, "Hmm, an interesting name. Vietnamese perhaps?" I called ahead to confirm the Web Site status. Nobody claimed to know anyone named Phucket. Now, I was worried again and went to S.B. Pack & Post during my lunch break, instead of after work as planned. I was relieved to find out that indeed "A. Phucket" did work here. In fact he greeted me at the desk. He was a very polite young man. Not meaning to be invasive, I had to ask the origin of his name but he declined to say. I don't blame him because I don't have a right to know his personal business. I was just curious. In any case, thank you A. Phucket, your service was excellent. However, I'm only giving 2 stars because of the worry your co-workers put me through, by denying your existence. Still don't know why they did that. Maybe they tease you about your name? I hope not because I've known people teased for their names. People like, "Harry Bajyyna," "E. Norrmuss Johnson," and "Russel Ashwype" to name a few. Also, note famous people like NASCAR driver, "Richard Leroy Trickle" aka "Dick Trickle," 1941-2013. So, as you can see, yours is a beautiful name by comparison. So, A. Phucket, your proud parents Father and Mother Phucket, gave you a great name and an excellent work ethic. read more

I have had a Private Mailbox at Pack & Post for 7 years now. Previously, I paid for a US Postal Service post office box. Having had both for many years, I can tell you with confidence, there's no comparison. Go with Pack & Post, you'll be glad you did. They are professional, detail-oriented, friendly, and thorough. I have had all manner of mail and packages delivered. They have a very tight system for receiving, logging, storing, and notifying you of your packages. Unlike a lot of businesses these days, they demonstrate flexibility and try to say "yes" as often as they can. Given the present rate of inflation, every business has increased costs and raises their rates; Pack & Post's increases have been modest. Unlike the post office, they can also receive FedEx, UPS, and other couriers. If you have a question or issue, you can phone and speak to a real person. You can ship or mail items when you stop by to pick up your incoming items; they'll tell you which carrier offers the most affordable rate based on how fast you need your package to arrive. You can buy boxes and shipping materials, and you can even have them box up items for you (I trust their packaging abilities more than my own to have the item arrive undamaged). They offer shredding services. I'm sure I'm forgetting more services they offer -- check their website -- but these are the ones I have used the most. I no longer have to worry about packages being stolen from my front step, or notifying everyone of a new address when my housing changes. There are no words to describe the tremendous service provided by the team at SB Pack and Post. Not only have they been more competitively priced then a moving company to ship a pallet of personal items to Costa Rica, find customs brokers, etc...and another shipment back--- but a year later I was in Los Angeles and had left my purse in SB- I needed ID to check into hotel and get my prepaid theatre tickets. The only people I could think of that had a copy of my ID was Aaron, Will and the team at SB Pack and Post. On a whim, I emailed them , and minutes later a copy of my passport was on my Iphone. That was above and beyond!!!! Every week I ship, fax, Fed X, DHL packages and mail both domestically and internationally. The team makes sure I get the best rate and delivery time, and of course send me a tracking notice, and notice of delivery. Customer service is #1------They are a small team, work super hard, and no doubt, and I hope for them ( not for me) that they get acquired by UPS, or FED X and make lots of $.... on the flip side- I hope they don't because they provide such familiar customer service. I saw a massive pile of mail delivered on Monday at 4:30p to the Pack & Post, Megan was working that evening and I was back at 9:15a the following morning and had it all sorted and in the boxes, she is awesome and has a "get it done" work ethic. George the owner is very sweet and does a great job of keeping his customers happy and bringing new items and services in order to give his clients what they need. I am a local designer with a Fed Ex account of my own but this project required shipping a wind generator for a client, and I just didn't have the packing materials or time to deal with it. So I stopped by Pack and Post in my neighborhood and inquired. Jeremy assured me he could handle it. Headache gone! The professional staff at Santa Barbara Pack and Post were so efficient, quick, and friendly, I'm still wondering why I bother with shipping anything myself. They handled the odd-size packaging without a hitch, sent me quotes, confirmations, and receipts via email so I didn't have to lose precious time running back-and forth, and managed to turn it around so that the item was shipped out within a few hours. Pack and Post has been my "GoTo" place for all my mailing, shipping and receiving needs for years. There is rarely a line, and if a line, it goes fast. I have not needed to navigate the long lines of the USPS because Pack and Post meets all my needs. They have all the supplies and their customer service is helpful and provides options. I mail packages, I purchase their packing supplies and they help me right there in the store. My daughter has set up her business address there for receiving packages. I have appreciated the pleasant full service attitude of each of the employees. I highly recommend Pack and Post. read more

Possibly the greatest packaging store of all time. I am currently in Nicaragua, in dire need of a very important piece of paperwork in order to get home. DHL was having some sort of glitch with my shipping order. George at Santa Barbara pack and post went out of his own pocket, and send the package through his account just so I could have it on time. Without him I would be totally screwed. I will of course pay him back when I get a chance, but they have truly helped me get out of the major international bind. I don't recommend you go there because the lady that works there is SO MEAN and GRUMPY! She expected me to leave an expensive unlimited wifi card on her counter unwrapped. I asked politely if she would put it in an envelope while I was there (there were no other customers in the store) and she became ENRAGED...even yelling at me as I left the store that she was "going to charge me twice as much in labor." What? So she works at pack and post but won't stuff an envelope? I guess I will never be going back there...she is scary and crazy. read more

This place has the cheapest shipping prices in town, period. I went to the Packaging Store last week to ship out a late Christmas gift - a small box headed to Pasadena. He charged me $19.75 for the shipping, I didn't get a tracking number, and he couldn't tell me when the package would arrive. Terrible experience. I shipped the SAME candle from the Pack and Post a week later and they only charged me $9.74! Less than HALF the cost. The staff is helpful, friendly, and honest. read more
