I learned about Jay and team through a friend who had hired him to redo her house after a fire…read more After meeting him and seeing the quality of his work, my husband and I knew we had found our contractor. Jay was professional, knowledgeable, creative, and a true partner from start to finish. He and his team helped us to create a custom home that suits us by taking the house down to the studs and working closely with us at each step of the way to ensure we assembled all the pieces to create a house that is perfect for us. In the beginning, Jay, his colleague Tom, and I met at the house to talk about the goal and review our starting point. We tossed around ideas, identifying what would likely work within our budget and meet our needs for style, functionality, and long term durability. Once we were aligned, Jay and I met with the architect, agreed on a design and the plans were drawn up. Involving Jay at this step ensured the architectural design could be built within our defined budget. His help here was invaluable. The demolition and construction: My husband and I had vacated our home to give Jay and his team room to work. They took the house down to the studs in a single day. And from there, the changes began to take shape. Walls were removed or moved, Foundation for the addition was poured. New walls went up. Plumbing was rerouted and added as needed. Electrical went in as prescribed. The great thing about the construction was that my husband and I were consulted throughout the process. We had all agreed on a plan, but when the plan just didn't seem to be the best solution, Jay would call us over and offer a new solution. And, he was usually right. Occasionally, we came up with an even better option when we put our heads together. When it came time to choose cabinets, counter tops, tile, etc., in some cases, my husband and I were very specific about materials. In others, we gave Jay an idea of what we were thinking and he gave us options. He nailed it every time. And his crew was wonderful. We got to know them all and they treated our home as if it were their own. In the end, we got a beautiful custom home and a new friend. We would definitely use Jay again. And, the neighbors liked him and his work so much, many of them have asked him to bid projects for them. I couldn't have asked for a better contractor and a better experience.

I have waited a few months to write a review so I wouldn't be so mad, but unfortunately, I still am a bit whenever I talk about it. PROS 1)What work they did do, it is of excellent quality. 2)Workers are detailed oriented 3)Willing to work with you when you saw things they did that weren't what you wanted. 4)Experienced employees made a good suggestion to move my trellis location to make more shade - excellent! 5)They fixed my sprinklers that they broke during demolition. CONS 1)I wished they had some drawing or blueprint when they did our deck, so that we were all on the same page. They do NOT have a design software where they can show you what they are doing before they do it. So after paying $40,000 on my deck, I was really hoping to get what I wanted. 2)Instead, they forgot to budget for a key component of my deck, leaving me an upper deck with no gates (the only reason why I went with them was because I wanted 2 gates for my child), and a lower deck that had no wall, my child could have fallen through a gaping hole which could have landed her stuck underneath the top deck. Unacceptable. 3)So of no fault of mine, I ended having to pay another $3700 to make the deck how I wanted, done 4 weeks after it was promised. If they had some sort of drawing, or blueprint software, it would have earned them 5 stars probably, since it would have prevented them having to dig up posts where they shouldn't have been(saving time and $) and would have saved me $3700 because I would have made sure that the wall was included. 4)The trellis I had to pay more for, because the original one was not done correctly. I expected a company named "design solutions" would have an artistic eye to see that the slats of the trellis should not have been laid like that. Again, I had to negotiate with them to redo it, and had to pay more for that. Ugh. Nice young couple and I hoped to have worked with them but after paying so much money for my deck, I would have expected it all to be done correctly. Unfortunately, I will not be working with them again, since they do not seem to have a design software to show me what they plan to do

A complete gut remodel interior & exterior started in November 2024. The quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the project were exceptional--especially their tile & slab work, which really stood out. The finished spaces reflect the level of precision and care expected from a top-tier contractor. Like most large, complex renovations, this project came with its share of challenges and unforeseen structural discoveries. Kasas worked collaboratively to problem-solve and adapt as the project evolved, often stepping in to help fill the gap where our original architect was no longer involved. Their team maintained professionalism and a strong commitment to achieving a beautiful end result. As a client with a high attention to detail and a strong opinion in design, I appreciated how the team welcomed my input and worked with their subcontractors to realize the vision. They coordinated well with local inspectors to meet all regulations while still honoring the aesthetic direction I provided. While the overall timeline extended beyond the initial plan, the outcome demonstrates quality workmanship. Budget adjustments were consistent with what's typical for projects of this scale and complexity. In the end, Kasas Builders delivered a stunning, high-quality renovation. I often get compliments from visitors & requests about materials that I selected for the project. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor capable of executing high-end work with integrity and craftsmanship.

My mother had passed away and I needed a full bathroom remodel (bathroom was a SMALL 1950's with a…read moretoilet, sink, shower and pocket door as a regular door wouldn't even fit in there) and the first couple of times speaking with Mr. Ahmad in person, I was told the job would be well under $10k as I stated it was for a rental and lots of other improvements were being done by others so my budget was tight. Mr Ahmad asked if he and his team could camp out in sleeping bags in the house, (Pleasanton is a 30 min drive from Sunnyvale). I agreed of course as the house was vacant. Mr. Ahmad usually starts jobs around 9-10am he stated. We talked over the course of 2 weeks and I had asked over and over for a quote but never received one. Each time we talked, the verbal prices he told me of items increased. Soon it was $20k and then he said $30K would be the bare minimum he could remodel the small bathroom for. Then the next time we spoke he said he and his team would need hotel rooms... I wondered why? They live in Pleasanton, the weather was pretty warm out in June so they wouldn't freeze in the house and they start at 9am (after the morning commute) - I was very puzzled. He wanted me to house 3 guys in hotels for a week for a small bathroom remodel. (3 rooms for 4 nights) so that is well over $2k in hotel costs alone in cupertino. Then he said it would cost money to get the bathroom parts from Pleasanton to sunnyvale, so there would be some type of travel fee - that is RIDICULOUS!! Then he started talking about the upgrades -- I wanted basic but he wanted super fancy and this is a rental I kept explaining. Maybe his company is used to super fancy stuff, but he wasn't listening to the customer(me!) , and definitely wasn't providing me a written quote and I refused to pay $2k in hotel bills for a 30 min drive for his local team. This guy wants luxury and charges the customer so he can live in comfort... And just to add, his wife and him demanded a meeting with me at my Union City house to try to pressure me into using their company -- it was clearly them against me and it caused many hard feelings, enough to have me tell several friends to definitely not use this company. He had also offered to finance part of it earlier that day if I was not able to pay it all at once...he wanted that $30K as maybe he was short on work.I can't assume what the reasoning was except to increase profit at the expense of the customer. While in the presence of Mr Ahmad, a call came in from a disgruntled customer and Mr Ahmad told his partner that their other employee had put too small of an HVAC system in a residential house that day. Wow, how many mistakes do these guys make? And I just looked up this company on the Better Business Bureau and it says they are investigating a claim and cannot post anything about DIM Construciton until their claim investigation is complete. So, it seems I'm not the only one having issues with this company.
