Lemongrass chicken with Pad Thai
River D.

The food is amazing and the service is great! Some of the best Thai food and Thai tea I've ever had

delicious lemongrass pad thai

Grilled lemongrasschicken Pad thai!!! Oneof the best meals I have ever eaten!! Good service. the restaurant was noisy due to loud individual who fortunately was quite happy. The wonderflu aroma and flavors were almost a religous experience...Made me thankful to be alive!I look forward to trying more of this extensive menu.

The serving was large enough so I have lunch tomorrow.

Great service, received my dish in 10 minutes but unfortunately it was mostly sauce. The flavor was wonderful but $15.00 for two cups liquid wasn't worth it. First time being disappointed in this local favorite.

Coconut Soup and Drunken Noodles

Friend staff. Quality food for the price. I have had better Thai food elsewhere but it was satisfactory. The summer rolls and peanut sauce were lack luster. The tofu tasted off. The soup was good but not nearly spicy enough despite ordering it spicy. This is Americanized Thai food which is fine as long as that is what you are expecting.

Pad Thai chicken medium hot

We ordered takeout passing through town and we were very satisfied with the noodle dishes we ordered. We like our food on the spicier side and ordered medium hot, which was perfect! Good amount of spice without overpowering the flavor. Both dishes had a good amount of chicken, which was tender and well cooked. The pad se ew included carrots and broccoli, both of which still had a little crunch so they weren't soggy. There was also a nice portion of each, along with the scrambled egg. Would definitely order food from here again!

Enjoyed my pumpkin curry a lot, and my friend enjoyed their yellow curry. The waiter seemed severely stretched thin, which affected the meal a little bit; my friend had been hoping to order a drink but so many tables were in need of help that my friend never got a chance. That's not on the waiter, who was hustling and doing his best, but I might hesitate to come here during any popular meal time on a weekend, especially when I have dietary restrictions that necessitate some conversation with the waiter to make sure I won't get sick. Still, I definitely would like to come back if in Forest Grove again!

Great local Thai food. We love the pumpkin curry, and shrimp fried rice. Also for apps we get the fried tofu and summer rolls.

Bastion was amazing! My wife and I were visiting from Sacramento and wanted to check out some of…read morethe famed gluten free restaurants in Portland. Bastion definitely is part of what makes Portland's gluten free scene great! The location is in a beautiful small neighborhood in the city. Bastion sits among some small businesses and has the feel of a cozy business in a house. My absolute favorite thing about Bastion was their fried chicken. It was crispy and delicious. Often times gluten free items lack a bit of substance when it comes to how it feels, but the nice meaty chicken pieces really helped offset that in the case of the chicken sandwich. It was fulfilling to eat and would do a great job filling up anyone who is hungry. My wife went with the waffles and they were great. They were presented beautifully with a gorgeous flower garnish. If you want a nice IG picture, well, here you go! To wash it all down I tried their mango smoothie. And this thing was smooooooof. This was one of THE BEST smoothies I've had in a while and I would drive back up from Sacramento just to get this again. We loved our experience at Bastion and am sad to leave!

But, we decided to eat here anyway! We ate outside, in a nice weather, no flies! We sat down, then we ordered from the menu, a Fried Chicken Sandwich and a Tarragon Chicken Salad Sandwich. All of the food in this restaurant is gluten free. And the sandwich bread, while tasty, were pretty hard to chew. Mine specially, I couldn't even cut the thinly sliced crust with MY knife & fork! That's saying a lot! The sandwich came with a nice serving of green salad. The restroom is clean. Service was good. Water is self-serve and there's hardly any room at the station to set down a small cup, when filling a second cup.

SlackTide Fish And Chowder - Kids menu as of July 2024

SlackTide Fish And Chowder

I should have known better than to come to this new local North Plains food pod location…read more(post-fireworks) on a Friday, July 5th afternoon lol. Because out of the four usual pods that are here, only SlackTide was open!!! Yippee!!! I finally get to try them too!!! Yippee Skippy!!! Here's my order: ~ Again, this was my first time trying this pod, so I went BIG. I ordered their best item, the $28 Captian's Platter. This consisted of two pieces of fish, in which lingcod was the "featured fish." Three pieces of fresh scallops. And three pieces of fresh shrimp. First of all, I was warned by the owner Brian that lingcod is a thinner fish. But being an avid angler, I was familiar with how big or long lingcod can get. I will admit the fish pieces were somewhat small, but I was warned. I had to get that deep-fried, forearm sized "British fish-n-chips in a newspaper" thought out of my head. The breading, however, was crispy good! The breading stayed on the fish as well. Another plus in my book! As for the scallops and shrimp, oh boy these were just as tasty, dipped in the cocktail sauce or tartar. Squeeze a lil' lemon, add a lil' salt, and mmm mmm!!! The good thing was, after eating that platter, I didn't have that greasy guilty feeling. Oh wait, there's more... ~ Who wants CHOWDAH?!?!?! MAAAAN, I've been up and down the Pacific coast and damn, SlackTide sells some good competition worthy chowder! Why? Because with each spoonful scoop, it had clam with every bite. The base was just right, not too thin, not too thick. It just tasted amazing to me, and thank goodness it wasn't overwhelmed by big potato filler pieces. I only sampled the 10oz cup for $8, but now I know next time to try it in a bread bowl. Welp, that's just about it regarding SlackTide. Call me a fan! Some may think its a bit pricey, but the seafood was cooked fresh on the spot, and EVERY bite was just pure blliss! I had a great talk with the owner Brian about how he manages to do this part-time on the weekends. Man, much props! Fish only stays fresh for so long, so understandable with the short hours. But I'm all about supporting locals. FIVE Star-fish for these guys!!!

I didn't know there were food trucks out here. Luckily I spotted them in the way to a car show. I…read morehad the Fish & Chips (Lingcod was the catch of the day) and it was excellent. The fish was very fresh, nice seasoned cornmeal breading and perfectly cooked. The fries were equally good. Although next time I'd like to try the clam chowder as the side. We found One in a Melon Meals on the Find Me GF app, which told us that this is a completely gluten-free food cart, which also has vegan and dairy free options. My partner usually opts for the Roccstar quinoa meal. This is a huge helping of Moroccan BBQ chicken on a bed of quinoa, along with a side salad of tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese, and olives. She's never been disappointed. The service is wonderful, and she gets her food quickly, often more quickly than our boys, who go to another cart for meatballs. It's steaming hot and obviously prepared fresh to order. She devours the whole thing and often has to hold back from getting a larger size. She's also ordered online, and had it delivered, and the quality hasn't suffered a bit. The food is healthy, delicious, and run by local people. It's part of a food cart pod, smallish, but with plenty of other options available for members of a group. Seating is ample and there's even a beer truck, if that's your thing. So, there's really no reason that anyone, not just gluten- free and gluten sensitive people, should have to not check this place out.
