Pineapple fried rice with chicken ($10.50) dinner size and price.
    Pauline T.

My FAVORITE Thai restaurant in Hillsboro. I often come here to pick up lunch. I can call in my order and pick up within 15 minutes, usually 10. My favorite dishes here are the pad kee mao, pad Thai, and pineapple fried rice. I love that they have a lunch special pricing for some of my favorite dishes. Also very delicious Thai iced coffee!! Again, my favorite Thai food around this area.

I do t like writing negative reviews about family owned local restaurants. The sever was very friendly and prompt. The food was not good. We ordered the crab fried rice and it was inedible. It smelled of spoiled fish and was an off color brown. The garlic shrimp had vegetable that were not even warm. Sorry to say this was not a good experience.

My friend and I were looking for a place to eat after blueberry picking in the area and came by Thai Princess Restaurant and decided to give them a try. From their menu, I ordered a thai iced tea, salad rolls, and their hot & spicy noodles. Thai iced tea was cold and refreshing. Salad rolls were delicious with their peanut dipping sauce. The sauce was probably the star of the dish, it was warm and felt original and homemade. Would have gladly devoured 2 platters of this. What really fell short for me was the hot & spicy noodles. While the flavor was fine and the dish was complimented with lots of vegetables, I couldn't really get by all the liquid in the dish... From what I remembered, the menu did indicate that the dish was stir fried, so I wasn't exactly expecting the dish to turn out soupy like it did. There was also no spice whatsoever despite the name. I'm assuming all the excess liquid were reduced from the veggies and mushrooms. Noodles were a miss for me but open to trying other items on their menu.

Yay free soup for lunch! I got the Phad Basil with pork, which was alright- a bit on the sweeter and saltier side for me. Just didn't like how there was a lot of black specks/carbon in my food from cooking in the wok. Had to keep picking them out. My coworkers really like this place, and they love the egg rolls (make sure to add the clear orange sauce to go with it). I'm not a huge fan of this place, but I'm not opposed to it. 3.5 stars.

I have dined at Thai Princess a number of times in the past. I remember the food as being decent but not as good as many other Thai places in the area. To be honest, I wasn't planning to come here today. But when my plans for a nearby restaurant went south, Thai Princess was at least familiar. When we walked in, the place was packed and looked like the cafeteria at Intel. There were blue badges dangling on everyone. We managed to acquire the only remaining vacant table. I wasn't kidding when I said it was packed. It was noisy too. People were talking shop loudly. I ordered pad kee mao and my friend ordered their lunch special pumpkin curry. The complimentary soup arrived quickly. It was just as I remembered it, rice and tofu in a light broth. It was lukewarm and needed pepper....or something. My friend thought our food took too long to arrive. But as the crowd started to leave our food appeared. It was decent. The servers did a great job taking care of everyone. After today's visit I can say that Thai Princess is still decent and familiar. But there are many other Thai restaurants in the area that are far better.

    Pineapple Fried Rice. YUM!

Came here to a birthday celebration during the week. About 6 pm. The place was empty except for another couple. We were a party of six. The wonton soup was ample and enjoyed by the under 18 year olds. Not spicy, otherwise the 11 year old wouldn't have eaten it. The two youngsters really enjoyed their soup. For them, I also ordered the sampler of appetizers. Good call. Crunchy and made the kids happy. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and the green curry with pork to share. The food comes family style, generous portions, yayyyy. The rice was fluffy and as good as you get in Los Angeles, which is where I was visiting from. I had asked for mild, but the green curry was too spicy to share. And to me, too many bamboo shoots, not enough pork. Pad Thai with chicken looked right and the birthday girl loved it...and always orders it as it's her favorite dish. PRO: No waiting to be seated. Good food with correct flavors. Not longer than a 15 minute wait for food to be on our table. Decent service, not overly attentive, but our glasses were refilled. CON: No free birthday dessert, no candle atop anything, no bday song. I had informed the waitress about the birthday prior to seating, and at that time, she should have told me there's no free birthday dessert...instead of waiting until after the meal. Otherwise, I would have gone to a nearby cvs or market to fetch candles and a cupcake. OVERALL: Good food at reasonable prices. I think the family will come here again. I go back to L.A. happy that my friend and her family enjoyed this impromptu bday celebration. Wished however for a bday candle atop some mango sticky price, just sayin'.

    Yellow Curry with Chicken
    Jamie B.

Thai Princess has the best Yellow Curry in town! The serving is large, enough for leftovers, with plenty of delicious chicken in every bite. I've tried the yellow curry at a few other places in Hillsboro and in Portland, but this is the only one around that compares to LA style yellow curry. I order it medium spice without onions and it's flavorful without being too spicy, perfect on a cold rainy day! Order online and it's ready for pickup quickly. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is friendly and safe during these Covid times. I would highly recommend!

    Emptied plate

The emptied plate strikes again. I was a little nervous at first since I was the only person dining in in the entire restaurant but the food and service were both excellent. I highly recommend them!

    Restroom
    William C.

Very disappointed. The food was OK, but my brother found a hair on his dish. The biggest problem was the restroom. I don't remember seeing a nastiest restroom. I am never coming back to this restaurant.

A Flavorful Escape in Hillsboro! If you haven't made the…read moretrip to Top Burmese Ambassador on Main Street, you are missing out on one of the most unique and soulful dining experiences in the Portland area. While the original NW 21st location is a classic, the "Ambassador" location in Hillsboro feels like a true elevation of the brand, combining incredible hospitality with a menu that is a masterclass in Burmese flavors. Here is why this spot is an absolute 5-star gem: The Tea Leaf Salad (Laphet Thoke): You cannot visit a Top Burmese location without ordering this. It is the gold standard--fermented tea leaves mixed with crunchy peanuts, toasted sesame, fried garlic, and fresh lime. It's a texture and flavor explosion that is unlike anything else in Southeast Asian cuisine. The Golden Samosas: These are a "super duper" must-order. They are flaky, perfectly spiced, and served with a house-made sauce that provides the perfect tangy kick. If you want something even more comforting, their Samosa Soup is the ultimate rainy-day cure. Standout Mains: The Coconut Noodle Soup (Khao Soi) is incredibly rich and aromatic, with just the right amount of creaminess. For a more savory, hearty option, the Beef Curry with Pan-Toasted Paratha is spectacular--the beef is fork-tender and the paratha is buttery and crisp. The Service: The "Ambassador" name is fitting because the staff truly acts as ambassadors for their culture. They are incredibly patient in explaining the menu to newcomers and make excellent recommendations based on your spice tolerance. Atmosphere: The interior is beautifully designed--vibrant, warm, and upscale without being stuffy. It feels like a "mini-vacation" right in the heart of Hillsboro. Pro Tip: This location is incredibly vegan-friendly (about 70% of the menu can be made plant-based!), so it's the perfect spot for a group with diverse dietary needs. Don't leave without trying the Burma Blue cocktail--it's as beautiful as it is delicious!

We ordered the green tea leaf salad, the turmeric fries, the chicken curry with paratha, the all-star okra curry, the coconut noodle soup, and the kheema paratha. I also tried the grass jelly drink. I can't choose my top favorite among everything that we tried. The green tea salad was very unique and I would never have ordered it myself. Now, I'm a fan. The turmeric fries were so delicious too! The chicken curry with the paratha was very Desi and excellent tasting. The okra had a homemade feel to it. I would've liked a side of paratha with it, rather than rice. The kheema paratha was excellent. The coconut noodle soup was like a nice warming/satisfying coconut curry with noodles. The grass jelly was interesting and I know that most of the jelly was left in the can, so while it is nice tasting, I wouldn't recommend drinking it in a can. The Hillsboro location is a little small but this restaurant and the server helping out are both an absolute delight and I highly recommend coming here!!

The crispy pork stir-fry is -- perfectly crunchy, super savory, and easily the best in the area (my husband is obsessed). Friday, we decided to get takeout and were near progress ridge, and decided to pop into the shopping center to see if anything sounded good. Alas, there's a new wing stop so just husband was sold. So I thought finally, let's try this Thai place! Got my obligatory pumpkin curry and beef, and mango sticky rice. Both were very good. The curry, very flavorful, albeit in need of a little salt, but that's ok - we don't eat a lot of salt and takeout sometimes doesn't feel so great because it has a lot. The mango sticky rice - good, black rice a little al dente for me but a-ok. Fast forward to today - on my way home from a nail appointment and my husband and I are texting about dinner plans and he asks where are you - I say progress ridge, and he says what do you want? I said maybe Thai but I know you don't want that- want wing stop? Sure enough he looks at the website and says I want to try the Khao Soi and the sweet potato appetizer. What?! This guy has never once had Thai with me in 19 years! So, I decided to try something different and got the massaman curry, and the pad se ew noodles as well with shrimp. So I ordered everything pretty sure he wouldn't like it (but I would) and Khao Yai folks - HE LOVED IT. For me, never tried that kind of curry and may never get anything else.... Sooooooo delicious, roti, amazing. Pad se ew noodles - great. Didn't need them but they'll make a great lunch or second dinner. All in all I am doing a happy dance because we found a good, reasonable Thai place - and the cherry on top - my husband loves it too!
