Friends and I popped in here around 8pm on a Saturday night for a late dinner. I was craving pad Thai, and this place was open until 9. I'm surprised the rating isn't higher - we had a great experience, and the food was delicious! It wasn't busy, and we saw 2 delivery drivers come in while we were there. We were able to be seated immediately. An interesting thing about their menu is that they have traditional pad Thai, as well as peanut sauce pad Thai (traditional pad Thai smothered in peanut sauce), and Hawaiian pad Thai (traditional pad Thai with pineapple and tomatoes). At other restaurants, I'll often get an order of pad Thai with an appetizer of salad rolls with peanut sauce, and will dump the leftover peanut sauce on my pad Thai... So obviously I ordered the peanut sauce pad Thai with pork. This was a generous portion, with plenty of peanut sauce, meat, and fresh green onions. Definitely would order again, and wish other restaurants served this recipe! My friends got an order of pineapple fried rice and I can't remember what my other friend got (maybe traditional pad Thai...whatever it was, she had chicken added to it). Everyone said their dishes were delicious, and the portions were equally generous as mine. Extra points for this place being affordable! For the three of us, the total was $44 before tip. My friends and I all remarked that this was a better deal and likely healthier than fast food is. Another thing we appreciated was how quiet the restaurant was. The music wasn't cranked up, and I'm sure it's more echoey when there are lots of people, but it was great to be able to hear each other talk. read more

Went here during lunch time and only have good things to say honestly. The place is cute, clean, and presentable. Not sure if this was just this time, but maybe some low background music would be nice to have. The service was great. Our waitress checked up on us frequently and had a nice smile to greet us with no wait time to be seated. The food was great and not crazy expensive! I ordered delivery from door dash. I got crab fried rice, mango sticky rice and a thai tea. The crab rice was extremely good. The crab mixed well with the rice and was not overpowering seafood taste. Nice renovation work but not what I expected. They serve similar food just like at any other Thai restaurants. Pretty much usual Thai menu and regular settings. But if you just want Pad Thai, not Northern Thai dishes specialty, sure go for it. Here's what in the name and logo that aren't there: "Khantoke refers to a traditional Northern Thai Lanna-style dinner and a low, round table used to serve it. A Khantoke dinner involves a variety of Northern Thai dishes, often served with traditional music and dance performances in a cultural show setting. The meal is traditionally eaten on the floor, and sticky rice is often used as a utensil to scoop up the other foods." read more

This has been a Thai restaurant for a long time, but it's a new name and I'm guessing that there's new ownership along with the subtle changes to the recipes. We stopped by for dinner on a quiet evening before heading to a nearby theater. Very quiet evening and we were greeted and asked where we wanted to sit. Friendly server for us. Standard items you'd expect from a Thai place. Everyone in our party was satisfied with what they ordered and the food was tasty. I found interesting that there was a spice blend of some sort sprinkled on the top of most of the dishes. Nothing offensive about it, but I can't recall seeing anything similar at other places. Maybe it's their "thing" to be different. Portions were adequate. Food came out one plate at a time, fairly quickly, so everything is fresh and hot. Four great lunch specials. I love the large, squares of rice noodle in these dishes. We also enjoyed the inexpensive Thai ice tea with our lunches. The spring rolls were a bit under cooked and the dipping sauce seemed oily with not enough vinegar so we probably will not get them at lunch again. Well, I think we just found our local Thai spot! This place is good, so so good! Thai is probably my favorite food to eat that I can't cook myself, so if I want to have it, I must go out to eat it or order in. We used to have a local Thai place that we loved when we lived in the Bay Area, but we hadn't found "our place" locally until now. After my husband got a haircut across the street (at Dita Barbers), we decided to take a stroll through downtown Hillsboro on a very quiet Sunday afternoon. We'd been wanting to try this place but I didn't even think they were open (even though the open sign was clearly lit, lol) because it looked empty inside but upon entering we were promptly greeted and seated. We were the only table so the ambiance was super quiet and relaxed, but another party came in about 5 minutes after we sat down. We ordered the Thai iced tea (delicious), the coconut shrimp (best I've ever had, the coconut flavor was fresh, crispy perfection), the wonton soup (hearty portion, great flavor), and the pad see ew with beef. I asked for medium spicy which was actually pretty spicy, so I'm glad I didn't ask for it to be any spicier, and it was very very good. And although I do like spicy food, I think next time I'll ask for it to be mild instead of medium. *Spicy note: There is a disclaimer on the menu for no returns or refunds if you order items hot or Thai hot, so mind your spicy tolerance and choose wisely! Anyway, back to the food: In my opinion pad see ew is a Thai delicacy. I feel like people sleep on this dish and they really shouldn't. The noodles, the flavor and the texture mixed with the tender meat (beef) and veggies and the perfect amount of spice, I honestly just can't even. It's so good. Service was great, quick, and our waiter was super kind. I'm looking forward to our next visit and to try all the things on their extensive menu because I'm sure I'll discover some new favorites. read more

We were greeted when we walked in and the service was good. We ordered fresh spring rolls, one with tofu ($8.) and one with shrimp ($10.). There were only one shrimp in each roll, not worthy of $2. extra. The rolls were mostly lettuce, no cilantro or mint, very little rice noodles, mostly lettuce. The peanut sauce had good flavor and improved the rolls taste. Most of the menu is $15+ (refer to menu photo). The biggest turn off was the carpet, they just opened and the floors were filthy. read more

Being a student near downtown Hillsboro has given me the opportunity to visit some delicious places. One of those is Thai House situated in the middle of downtown. The downtown strip can get fairly busy, but we always seem to find a spot. During lunch time, with great deals we thought there would be a rush. But this place was super quick and easy. My favorites include the Pad Thai with Chicken. They have the options of glass noodles or traditional noodles for Thai! I love that about this place. In addition the curries are delicious and they have a great selection from yellow to green and red! The yellow curry is most obviously the well known, but instead of chicken, I have opted to do tofu. Tofu and curry have been such a great move here. I love the tofu, because generally it is very bland. However this curry and tofu takes the cake with a delicious and flavorful blend. The apps were also something to try. The crab rangoon's aren't the best I've ever had, but crispiness was great. The sauce was delicious. So its a great way to start. However I believe the spring rolls are a better way to start. Something fresh and nice to cleanse the palate. Hoping to be back here soon! read more

Love that the new ownership offers the option of egg or glass noodles - The "HOT" heat level was accurate. The soup had that good heat with yummy flavor. Oh goodness I ate too much! The food is so fantastic! Lots of meat options and the menu is extensive! Everyone can find multiple dishes to eat! One thing that is hard, we find, is to get spicy food. (We like actually very hot to native spice.) We asked for our food very spicy. OMG, they delivered! We're happily moaning over all the flavour and heat! We need to come back more often! Doable food I'd say. Was gonna open this party with calling the place the Denny's of Thai Food for its very likely quality of nurturing the buzz you had going earlier in the evening - in an effort to sober up so you won't get arrested again, you come here. Then I realized they close at 8pm so that's that. Anyways, my first impression was the the 3.5* average might be slightly above what I was expecting at that point. Aside from a fairly low crowd for a Saturday night (granted it's Hillsboro but still), the place wasn't our first choice; I suspect the Italian across the street is attracting most of the Hillsboran high society which somehow brings me back to that Denny's comparison.. however that may be, a couple noted when glancing the window menu out front that "it's Thai Food alright?" before walking on, and even two hours later I have to concur with that assessment. Okay granted, my friends green curry looked like it was still radiating from the last incident in Fukushima, but apparently it was edible. I was scared to try and stuck to my shrimp tempura. Solid choice, can't go wrong with seafood that was deep fried to its untimely demise. Only thing of note was the two couples and only other guests in the restaurant both had to get up to pay for their checks because the waitress was occupied with microwaving food. Which actually reminds me - considering our green curry and deep fried somethings were out within a few minutes, I don't think there's a whole lotta live cooking going on. God bless toaster ovens. Moving on, food was decent overall (I'll be the final judge of that at a later point tonight which very well might result in the fourth star being dropped again). We got another plate of mango steamed rice which was about what it sounds like. I'd like to lose a brief word on the plate designs that, fittingly with the rest of the ambient, reminded me of what eastern Germany before the wall came down must've been like. Just somewhat old school, maybe in an attempt to imitate the vibes of the arcade next door. One last piece of note is certainly the music. I don't know what exactly it was and if you were asking me for a genre, I wouldn't be able to give you an answer, but for any food-serving entity I've been to in the United States (of which there have been a number) this was the wildest ride of my life. Let me conclude: If you are looking for an authentic Thai experience this isn't it. If you however enjoy getting day drunk and don't care too much for the quality of food served, this is spot on. Also, probably a nice place to break up with somebody - somehow not dark enough to make it intimate and not light enough to give you good vibes either, must be one of those LED light rows you usually find in subway stations. Which shouldn't take away from the pleasant experience I've had here; it truly was alright for what it is (i.e. warmed up food with exotic sounding ingredient combinations that don't involve burgers). Stop by if you are looking for a quick and reasonably cheap bite, don't stop by to tell your family that your sexual desires have culminated in you marrying that slightly odd looking ex con.. I love a great Thai restaurant, and this is one I will never go back to. The calamari costs $10 and you only get 6-8 pieces covered in batter and tasted like old oil. The Thai chicken basil was pretty much a fried chicken strip on top of a few veggies (asked for extra vegetables), with little to no flavor. Don't recommend!! read more

First of all the food was extremely bland and my girlfriends pad see ew noodles were the consistency of slimy boogers, the broccoli wasn't cooked all the way it was hard and not tender. Second my beef soup was so chewy and the vegetables in my soup were tough and tasted bland and uneventful. But what makes it even worse is before we got our food, the spring rolls that we ordered were cold in the center and on top of that there was these plastic like noodles that were not consumable and they were wirey, I tried to enjoy it but my taste buds couldn't handle the cold flavorless rolls so I spit out everything I was chewing. I have been here a couple of times and it has always been good. I have had the pad Thai, and the Thai fried rice. Both were delicious. Came here for lunch last week with my co workers and was a little disappointed. This is a small dark restaurant with your typical Thai restaurant ambience, right in the heart of downtown Hillsboro. I was feeling a little adventurous and ordered the pumpkin curry. We also had some dumplings to start with. The dumplings were awesome, the filling was very flavorful and the sauce is was really good. Now to the curry... I was not impressed. The chunks of pumpkin and chicken were very good but the curry itself lacked a lot of flavor and I ordered it extra hot and it lacked any sort of spice. The service was very good and the Thai iced tea was amazing. Everyone I was with liked their food as well, so maybe I will get something different next time. I like this restaurant, and it is close to work so it is convenient. I would recommend trying it out if you are in the area, but it doesn't make my list of try it asap restaurants. read more

This place was empty. My dish the meat was raw, they were nice to fix it quickly, the deep fried egg rolls were plain and fat. The ice coffee was good. The server is polite but funny when she take care of customers on the phone. I may come back and try this place for another time but I felt like the beef taste funny like boiled then stir-fired. It has a lot of favor, good pad thai after re-warm up but I don't plan to get this dish again bcux the way they make their sauce taste differently than any other places I been to. Let me just say that the young lady that is a waitress working here is not friendly at all. She had a very serious but almost rude attitude. She did take my order quickly and asked if everything was ok, but seemed annoyed to be working in all honesty. I ordered the spicy fried rice with chicken. I was disappointed cuz I was expecting some thai spice especially since I ordered the "spicy" fried rice but nevertheless it was not spicy at all! The rice also was very mushy almost watery.
