Best Pad Thai around. Food is made to order, fresh and hot, with super large portions. Humble in appearance, but really good Thai food.

Been coming here since 2013. Always get the same 3-4 stuff. For the last few years, this place has changed. Different cook and the prices went up which is understandable but the portions are now smaller. The food tastes mediocre at best. This use to be so freaking good. Loved it. But has drastically dropped. Bring back the old DD Thai. And you don't even get enough rice with your curry anymore. Sad to say but it's going to be a while before I come back. Service is ok. In the HMart food court. You can order take out and then go shopping at HMart while you wait. The Shrimp Pad Thai never translates to a "To go" item, the noodles all stick together and it's hard to get out of the container. It was delicious as ever. This place is SO GOOD! I went there with friends and we shared a few dishes. Everything tasted amazing, and we were served quickly. They have a large and comfortable seating area. Warning: if you are sensitive to spicy food, ask for a level 1 or 2 of spice. I love hot sauce, but the level 3 was almost too spicy for me (still delicious though!). read more

We came in to get Lucky cat Ramen, but they were closed today so we pivoted and were so happy we did. Some of the best Thai food I've had in the Portland Metro area. I'm a huge fan for Pad Kee Mao and it was hands-down the best I've had. My 12-year-old love their fried rice and staff was super awesome. There's something about sitting at a counter and enjoying food that's prepared in front of you that makes for a really memorable experience. Located inside of H Mart, you can enjoy a meal there or take it to go. It's super convenient to place an order, do your shopping, then pick up your dinner to go. Consistency is lacking though which is unfortunate. For my last order, I selected the Panang curry with extra chicken. medium spice. It was delicious! The curry was super flavorful and the chicken was tender. Spice was mild so I added more chili flakes and oil. Would definitely order this dish again. The Drunken Noodles were just ok. The chicken was completely over cooked and had a leather consistency. The noodles were stuck together in globs and the sauce was too sweet even though I asked for it to be spicy. going forward, I will stick to the curries so that the meat is sitting in the liquid and stays moist. I do like that they give you rice with the curries without charging. So many restaurants now charge for the rice which is part of the meal and should be included. I want to help people who might be disappointed. This is a restaurant inside Hmart, so parking is good. There is a cafeteria area for groups to meet or to sit while you eat. Also you can eat food from the Hmart deli as well as drinks or snacks if you have your receipt handy. Now on to the food: It is mediocre at best. I have visited twice and ordered Thai fried rice, yellow curry with chicken and some spicy chicken and green bean situation with rice. These are standards and they are were not cooked well, but others might have different palates. I would not revisit, regardless of the very kind service, when there are better options. FYI, In reading reviews there might have been a change in the kitchen somewhat recently, but if you've never been there before, you'll have nothing to compare it to, so it won't matter. read more

Delightful find in the H-mart. Enjoyed tasty noodles with just the right amount of spicy goodness Pad Kee Mao. The food stall was bustling with orders to go and a few of us dinning in. This has become a regular lunch spot for me and my sister. They waste no time getting your order taken and made. It's usually in front of you in no more than 10min. The food is flavorful, the portions are large, the space is clean and the service is kind. I always leave with leftovers I'm excited to eat again later. I have dined at this joint many times. When I first discovered this joint, all the dishes were $7 each. They slowly raised the price to $7.5 for same serving size. Today all the dishes cost $8 and I noticed that the serving size is much smaller with less ingredients as well. If I were to rate this joint couple years ago, I would have rated it a 5 stars. Today it is only a 4 stars at best. You order your dishes at the counter and pay there. The server would give you a number. There is a dining place few steps from the restaurant. It comes with a free cup of tea. My favorite dish is Pad kee Mau with pork. I have tried all meat selections in the past and they all were rather dry. Pork was better. But the pork was also kind of dried for my latest visit. And I could barely find any basil leaves in my dish so it lacks the proper flavor. read more

Was super excited to try this because from the photos, they looked pretty authentic. I ordered a larb pork and shrimp pad kee map to go. I didn't think too much of it when they didn't ask for spice level because these are traditionally spicy dishes, especially the larb, which should be very spicy. But when I took a bite, THEY WERE BOTH NOT SPICY. like EXCUSE ME???? larb is terrible without that chili making you sweat. If you need a snack while you are shopping at HMart this is a nice find. DD Thai is located in H Mart - just walk through the entrance and take a right. It's right across from the bakery. They have all of your standard Thai favorites. I opted for the pad Thai with tofu and they did a great job. Nice sized plate, good amount of tofu and great flavor. Noodles had a nice tamarind tang which I look for in my pad Thai. My only complaint was that it took a good 20 minutes to get our order. But really it's because they were busy and that's a good sign right? Lots of eating space here - they have a counter and you could also use the large eating area next to the hmart deli. Owner is pretty friendly - they gave us some extra plates and utensils to use for our items from the hmart deli. read more

Completely un-acceptable portions for $10!! This review is solely based on the food, or lack thereof, I ordered an orange chicken plate from here only to get home and realize my plate was chocked full of steamed vegetables and a minuscule amount of dry, unseasoned "orange chicken" pieces with barely any sauce! How ridiculous and the fact that they charged $10 for this plate is beyond me. I for one will NOT be returning to this establishment and for others that do I would advise you to check your plate before leaving, at least make sure you're actually served food and not a tiny portion of left overs! read more

This is a great find found in the H-Market. Tom Yum spices were amazing!!! My girlfriend asked for "no onions", but they decided to leave out the tomatoes, too. Giving 4-stars as there is nothing worse than ordering to-go only to get home and find your order missing items. read more

Not the best Thai food I've ever had, but pretty good in a pinch. DD Thai Fusion is located inside H-Mart grocery store, in a fairly small food court. Downside: there's a children's play area with some noisy rides adjacent to the eating area. Not good on weekends unless you like eating your meal to the tunes of kid noise. Upside: it's located directly across from the bakery, and oh my, what delicious things are there! The entire food court is very popular on the weekend so we tend to go during the week. The female counter person is very friendly and your food comes out quickly: you get a number when you pay, find a seat and food is brought out to you. Bus your own table. Nothing fancy. Lunch specials are the best value, usually under $9 for most anything. I've had many items on the menu and cannot complain about anything I've tried. The mango chicken ($7.50) is my particular favorite. Lean chunks of chicken breast, bell peppers, onions, and fresh mango in a light sauce, served with a generous portion of rice. A cup of hot tea is complimentary. Note: If you order a dish with broccoli, ask for the Chinese broccoli, it's much tastier. Since it's located inside H-Mart, parking isn't a problem. A good, clean place to enjoy a quick Thai meal. The actual grocery store is quite wonderful also. read more

Amazing food. Mom and I have gone there for a while now. Their Massaman curry 4 is so good and so spicy. The heat brings the flavor to life in your mouth and all your sensations on high alert. Tucked away inside Asian supermarket H Mart, DD Thai is a hidden gem. My mom, a weirdly picky eater, raved about this place and I knew I had to check it out. An unassuming counter at the H Mart food court, the folks at DD Thai whip up the standard array of Thai noodles, soups, stir fries, and curries. Not sure why "fusion" is in the name - maybe because they offer chow mein? Otherwise it's very straightforward Thai food. Everything is $8 and the portions are generous. The value of quantity for cost is there, but ingredients and flavor are not sacrificed. We ordered the tom yum soup with tofu, chicken wonton soup, and pad kee mao with chicken. Unfortunately, all the counter seats were taken so we couldn't watch the cooks at work, but our food was brought to us in the food court. There was a bit of a wait, but not at all unreasonable considering all the folks at the counter waiting for their meals. The food was delicious. The tom yum was spicy and sour with nice depth of flavor, and the wonton soup was delightfully salty and savory. The pad kee mao was heaped with vegetables and well-cooked chicken, perfectly flavored with dark soy sauce, garlic, and chilies. It could have been a little spicier at three stars - perhaps next time I'll brave the next heat level. We finished only half of our portions and took the rest home to savor later. DD Thai is a steal. OMGosh has this place changed Lost their chef and whoever cooking now, has little idea of what they're doing. Got take out and it's barely edible. The Som Tum has Paprika (???) in it for coloring. No peanuts or Green Beans. There's not balanced flavoring at all Chicken Satay peanut sauce is too vinegary. Am afraid to try the Pat Thai. Sadly cannot recommend. Really terrible. read more

Decent value for the money! The pad Thai is cheaper than the places I usually go to. There are less vegetables or toppings than other places, so it was mainly noodles. In a pre-Pandemic world, I would go there if I was craving Thai food and I just so happened to be at Hmart. However, we're living through a pandemic and face masks are required. One of the chefs in the kitchen didn't wear a face mask and left it around his neck. I called in my order, but if I had known of their unsafe practices, I would have gone elsewhere. I understand wearing a mask while cooking is uncomfortable, but I need to wear a mask all day while working at a hospital, so I'm a little less forgiving. read more

A hidden gem. This place honestly, it's one of those hidden sort of gems that you only stumble upon because your friend takes you there. The food is fantastic. The ambience leaves something to be desired, but don't let that deter you. The food is really good and there is just such an interesting cultural aspect of being in the market. I've only been here once, but I know I'll definitely be coming back. I tried their pad kee mao with beef and it blew me away, some of the best Thai I've had in Oregon. The spice level was on point and the meat and vegetable to noodle ratio was very appropriate, cooked to perfection!
