Cafe Yum is true to its name and delivers! Whenever I fly out to Portland and visit family in Beaverton, I always stop by. Came here twice in a 1 week span! The Jazzy wrap with Thai jasmine rice, black beans, avocado, and tofu are truly bursting with flavor and my go-to! The Seitan skewers were very flavorful and my pick over the BBQ tofu skewers, which were stiff and didn't taste as fresh. The menu is a bit complicated and the bowls come with lots of toppings by default. There's flexibility to customize your order with bowl/wrap and add/remove toppings. We visited at 7 pm on a Saturday and there was barely a line so we got our order in less than five minutes. The staff was friendly, and we had no problem redeeming a mailed coupon. We were pleasantly surprised by the flavors in the bowl. I was worried that a bowl of mainly rice, beans, and vegetables may not be too exciting, but everything tasted great. So thanks for the heads up/disclaimer. Now for the actual order: We ordered 4 dishes - all hot and jazzy bowls. One subbed with brown rice, chicken breast and vegan sub avo (This means substitute cheese and sour cream with avocado ) - this order was fine. One subbed with cauliflower rice - this order came with normal white rice. One with extra avocado - this order didn't look like it had extra avocado. This location also doesn't have organic turkey breast. And, by the looks of it, maybe not even cauliflower rice. read more

My friend loves the food at Cafe Yumm! We have visited their location in downtown Portland many times. Today we were out shopping in this area and Cafe Yumm! was what he wanted. So after a quick Yelp check, we discovered there's a Cafe Yumm! near Millikan max station. Lunch awaits! This location of Cafe Yumm is located on the corner of Millikan and Murray. When we entered at about 2pm, there was one person in line ahead of us. Another cashier came by to help us right away at their second register. The man who took our order was friendly and courteous. There is plenty of seating available inside with a choice of booths and tables. There is a large outdoor patio with seating that can be enjoyed when the weather is nice. The dining area was clean. My friend ordered the turkey reuben. He pronounced it "delicious". I ordered the original Yumm! bowl and the vegetarian chili soup. My Yumm! bowl was a generous serving. The one thing missing was avocado but there were lots of black olives so I didn't mind. The chili soup was just a bit spicy with good flavor. After our visit today my friend has decided that whenever he wants Cafe Yumm! he will travel to this location. Good food, great service and nice atmosphere added up to a great lunch. read more

Originally my order was missing all kinds of stuff, 4 drinks, an original yummi bowl and a side. I got 3 bowls of all the things I ordered. Usually that would put me off from a place. Unfortunately it was my youngest daughter who didn't get her order, though ironically, its one of her favorite places and she suggested it. I talked to the manager about my missing items and she was very nice considering how frustrated I came across. I disappointedly hung with no solution to my issue other that get a refund. I was pretty upset by that, but what could I do? The missing drinks however was apparently the fault of the delivery driver. The reason I would go back is because, I reordered the missing bowl and it came with a nice apology letter and a free cookie for my daughter. She said all is forgiven and I agreed. I like Cafe Yumm. Now, my brother in law ( who has also lived in Eugene, as did I when I worked next door to the original place), thinks it's a lot of money for rice and beans and eschews them. He'd rather make his at home. He did confess to buying the big bottle of yumm sauce in the past though. ( so he's an anti-yumm poser).
