Though the food was a bit on the pricey side for Thai food I thought I'd go ahead and try it anyway. I went in, was sat down and service I received was alright. I asked for some hot tea ($2.95), and I ordered the spicy noodle soup, ($14.95). I was surpised they charged for tea since I didnt have any choice in what tea I got. The soup was basically a bowl of Tom kha broth with rice noodles in them. It wasn't spicy, I had to add more spice to it for my liking. Very little veggies, the squid and shrimp were over cooked but the chicken was fine. Overall, I was disappointed because I paid so much and didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. PAC Thai is a change up in ones typical eating choice. They offer a unique cuisine of Thai food. Only place of this type that I know of in the area. Whenever I come here, I usually get the Pad Thai with lemon chicken. It's .com. Most the time I'm just to scared to try something different. Eventually I'll get out my box, but for now that order is definitely my comfort zone. The plate is filled with a large portion of soft noodles, well garnished in a rich peanut sauce. And topped with a lemon grass chicken. The place itself is pretty busy during dinner hours; around 5. But other than that, customer service is better than average and and if you check in you get a free Thai Tea! So check in! read more

Pac Thai is honestly my go-to place for when I need a break from the typical cafeteria food. As a Pacific student, the location is convenient, and the service is always on point! I don't think I've ever left this place with a bad experience, whether it's to-go or dine-in. The food is delicious, especially for a local Thai restaurant. My favorite appetizer is the Chicken Satay, which is grilled chicken that's never under or overcooked, and comes with this peanut sauce that just compliments it so well. My favorite dishes would have to be the House Fried Rice and Crispy Chicken Basil, both of which I believe you can order either spicy or non-spicy. The fried rice comes with your choice of protein, and the crispy chicken is just such a delicious dish that you've got to try to understand. I also love that they have a Yelp coupon for a free Thai Iced Tea drink. read more

Pretty disappointed with my visit here today. I have always been skeptical of Thai restaurants because of my mild peanut allergy, but after living here for three years and seeing friends eat there safely, I finally decided to give it a go. Location is convenient and the waiter was nice. I ordered the Tom Yum soup with chicken, and it took about 15 minutes to arrive. It was a standard soup bowl, but what perplexed me were the number of half-blanched mushroom halves bobbing at the top of my soup. Hardly any greens--I didn't think to take a picture at the time because I wasn't very impressed (just tired and hungry!!) It looked nothing like the picture in the menu except for the color of the broth. Taste-wise, the soup was fair. I ordered medium spice but hardly noticed the difference. What did strike me though was that after a few spoonfuls of broth, my throat began to itch a little. I stirred my soup around and up pops a half of a peanut from the bottom of the bowl. Of course the waiter hurried to take the deathly bowl of soup away from me, and I am thankful that they allowed me to order something else for take-out instead. Management was very apologetic and handed me my food to go. I was confused when she did this because it was a few minutes after the waiter brought around the bill? Awkward exit as I had no idea if management was implying the bill would be waived or if I still had to pay... The poor waiter ran out the kitchen to try to collect my money (I'm not sure if either of us really knew what was expected of us). Of course, I paid because who really wants to be known as that person who dines and dashes? (even if it is unintentionally!!) In any case, this was an altogether unpleasant experience. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning here in the future. I love Thai food, but finding peanuts in Tom Yum soup is pretty unnerving, especially since that dish never has peanuts in it. My daughter who attends Pacific University nearby, has raved about this restaurant all year long. This past April, we had dinner here along with some of her friends and I was pleasantly surprised. We were a party of 7 so we had a reservation and I'm glad we did as the place was busy with both eat in and take out. Everyone ordered something different and without me having much experience with Thai food, stuck with what I knew. The yellow curry with chicken was delicious albeit a bit spicy. I couldn't believe the large portion size with the relatively small price tag. It was great and my daughter, along with her friends all enjoyed their meals and I enjoyed spending time with everyone. I can see why this place is so popular and you will too, especially if you have ever had to eat the gruel they serve on Campus, you might find yourself eating here a lot. Somehow I ended up hungry, cold, and tired in Forest Grove one night and wandered into Pac Thai. I was a bit skeptical, but a Pacific U student told me it was one of the better restaurants in the area. AND the verdict? A-OK. Take note that I was really hungry and anything could have made me happy, so at that moment in time, the food was GOOD and just what I needed. I split the Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, and a special Pad Thai with glazed chicken. Each item on the menu was about $8.95 with a few things a couple bucks more, so it was fairly cheap for dinner. I think their lunch items are the same, but $6.95. Looking back on it, currently well-fed, & remembering the after effects of the food, everything was too salty and oil. I woke up extremely dehydrated the next day, and downed 3 bottles of water like no other. I also remember my pad thai lacking in vegetables, and being mainly noodles, peanut sauce, chicken, and bean sprouts. The Tom Yum was also pretty bland and not too impressive. In the end, I would say the food is very reasonable for the price (plus it saved my butt when I was half-starving). I've been eating Thai for years at places all over the metro area, and when our family says "let's have some Thai" there's only one choice. Food is hot, fresh and full of flavor. This is mine and my dorm-mates favorite restaurant! Reasonably priced--you only pay around $10.00 for a huge portion for dinner. I have tried both their pumpkin curry and yellow curry. Both curries were delicious and flavorful. Their Tom yum gum is to die for, definitely has a kick though. The pad-thai is "okay"- my friends love it, but personally I think it is mediocre. I prefer the pad se ew with beef. Their spice level ranges from mild to Very spicy--and when I say very spicy i mean it basically will hurt going down. LOL I like to order all my food as mild and then ask for the different oils so I can have the spice level to my liking. Service is confusing, in that I am never sure who my server actually is. I suppose that means they have great team work, but that I'm unsure who the tip will actually go to. This restaurant is super popular for take-out if a grab and go is more your thing. read more

I'm always skeptical of new Thai restaurants. My first visit starts with an order of Pad Thai and the comparison with my favorites begins. This time, I departed from the customary practice. I wasn't terribly hungry so I just ordered a couple of appetizers; chicken satay (4 skewers) and summer rolls (2). When I came in to pick them up (ordered to go which I never do on the first visit), I was greeted very pleasantly, as if I'd been a customer a long time. The place is very well done, the smells from the kitchen were amazing. By a matter of excellent timing, there was another to go order that had not been picked up, so the owner offered it to me which I gladly accepted. I think it's Pad Se Ew (chicken instead of beef). This isn't an entree that I'd normally order, but boy is it good. All the food is topnotch. This is a particularly excellent find as this place is less than a 5 minute drive from home. After having eaten at some of the best Thai places(Siam, Pok pok, oddly enough Thai Go, etc) in Portland, Beaverton, and Hillsboro, this place was a serious disappointment, especially after having eaten at their sister restaurant Zab Thai where the food was better than merely acceptable and even bordering on good. We ordered three dishes; pad thai, pad see ew, and summer rolls. The two noodle dishes were bland and overly sweet without the usual earthy muskiness that we love about Thai food. The summer rolls were just OK due to being very densely packed and the rice paper not being very tender. We choked them down with the peanut sauce. While not "bad", if this had been my first exposure to Thai years ago, my ongoing torrid love affair with Thai food would have been a forgettable one night stand. read more

Unfortunately this is the last time we go here. The Eggplant dish had very little eggplant and it was mushy and deformed and there were so many bamboo shoots!!! Cashew Nut looked boiled rather than stir fried and the chicken tasted old and gamey. We asked them to remake these dishes because I didn't feel comfortable paying for them. Their second attempt was not much better and the chicken still tasted off. The Drunken Noodles were passable as was the Panang Curry but nothing to rave about. It's really sad because we love Thai and I wouldn't consider this an option for us in the future. I should add that we have had good meals here in the past but our last few visits were subpar. A hidden gem in Forest Grove, OR, I've lived in the area for over 10 years now and have tried Pac Thai a couple of times. I've stuck with the staple of Pad Thai in the past with this restaurant along with many Thai restaurants. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the seating was plentiful. What separated this place from the rest was the Pumpkin Curry. I've never tried it and was hooked. If you plan a visit you Must order this dish. The meal was affordable and the atmosphere didn't have the showy resonance of a snooty overpriced establishment. Focusing on the food and not necessarily the decor, is where this restaurant shines and attains their higher rating. read more

My friends and I stopped by here yesterday on our break from a training at Pacific University. All of us are Thai food lovers, so we were excited to learn there was a Thai restaurant near by. The staff there were exceptionally nice and our take out came to us quickly even though they were quite busy in the dining area. We walked back to campus and sat down to eat our food - two of us got Pad Thai with Tofu and the other got Pad See Ewe. My Pad Thai was incredibly bland! Bland except for the overbearing onion aftertaste. I have had Pad Thai many, many times before and never had I had such an aftertaste! I really wanted to give them a higher rating because of their service, but the food just didn't make that a possibility. read more

Date Visited: Thursday August 20, 2009 (Lunch) My fiance and I were off to Pacific University to do a little office filing (sounds terribly romantic for a 13-month celebration, doesn't it?) :-) I had heard about Pac Thai a few times from him, so it made sense for him to take me there. From the same folks who brought you Zab Thai in Beaverton, they have created an ideal lunch spot for Pacific University students and faculty. Being vegetarian and being engaged to a vegan, it's always important for us to know what foods we can trust. Pac Thai helps by labeling their menu items and indicating a vegan sauce can be used. So whether or not oyster sauce has oysters in it or is simply used to put on oysters and other things is no longer an important question to be answered. The vegan items are vegan. Oh....one of the best bits about this restaurant is that, like Zab Thai, they have unlimited Thai Iced Teas. YUM-E! The Tofu Delight is not my usual dish, but it's quickly becoming a dish that I enjoy. The tofu delight consisted of tofu, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms made in a yellow curry sauce. Served with a side of brown rice, this lunch portion (?) was still too much for me to eat. The flavor was not overpowering. The vegetables weren't overcooked. read more

Make sure to specify at least some level of spiciness when you order food here, because otherwise it is universally prepared "ultra-mild," or in other words, BLAND. I understand why they do this out here in the Grove (and perhaps as part of a restaurant chain), but as someone who's used to more authentically-spiced Thai food... I've been pretty disappointed in the dishes I've tried at this place. I know that I'm not Thai in culture or appearance, but that doesn't necessarily mean I don't like flavor. My parents live in Cornelius and I have failed to venture into Forest Grove until now! Little did I know that Forest Grove happens to boast plenty of small, local eateries! Pac Thai is a clean establishment with a wonderful menu and array of food items. A couple of the servers are more withdrawn but overall the customer service is great. They did happen to get my order wrong (I requested zero peanut sauce) but I am one of those people who just cannot bring this up in restaurants, especially if I end up trying it and it's delicious! This small mistake turned out to be in my favor this afternoon. I'm happy to have found this Pac Thai and plan on returning whenever I'm in the area! read more

I've been going to Pac Thai for almost 10 years. This is where I and my work friends will most likely go if we decide to go out together, because everyone really likes the food! It is also a place where we take potential hires for lunch; it is consistently good and also has options for people with a variety of food preferences, including vegan, gluten free, etc. Since COVID, we have been ordering from here to eat at home about once a week and are very pleased with the quality in their take out/delivery as well. Everything I have tried on their menu is good, but I'd especially recommend the Yum Nuar (cold beef salad), the Summer Rolls (vegan and delicious!), and the Spicy Crispy Chicken Basil (this one is best if you can eat it on-site, because the crispiness can wilt a bit in take-out containers, but it's still good). My husband is a Drunken Noodles with tofu fan, and he loves how they make it here. Definitely recommended. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've came here multiple times with friends and they take so long to seat you and get your order. Had to ask the waiter for water after sitting there for 20mins.. it took them so long to get our orders down and even longer to finally get our food. The waiters don't check on you if you need anything. Food is mediocre and bland for Thai food. Their Thai tea doesn't even taste like Thai tea. I tried calling them to order food to-go and they were rude on the phone. Never eating here again, I'll take my money to Taco Bell instead. read more

Not as good as it used to be! I used to come here once every week, now I'm going once every month,sometimes not even that. The Tom yum soup is always salty now when I order it, the rice doesn't have the same flavor as before especially the pineapple fried rice and there portions are also smaller now. read more
