Sometimes I just want an appetizer dinner and places that offer a variety plate of appetizers are my fave. Sandee Thai has a great appetizer sampler that comes with two of each of the following: fried dumplings (gyoza), spring rolls, shrimp rolls, crab rangoons and fried tofu triangles. It's served with a little dish of sweet & sour sauce and soy sauce is at the table. The appetizers were delicious and perfectly cooked. I also had a cup of tom kha, a coconut-based soup with lemongrass, lime leaves, mushrooms, tomatoes, cilantro, cabbages, carrots, galangal and onions. The cup was as big as a bowl in most other places and very tasty! Service was great, attentive to our needs, and friendly. I'll definitely be coming back here. I forgot to take a pic of the appetizer plate (which just means I'm going to have to go back soon and order it again!) but I did get a pic of that (big) cup of tom kha :) read more

This was one of the worst experiences at a restaurant I have ever had the elderly lady that took our order was incredibly rude this restaurant is dark and dingy so I wanted to sit by a window but was told this wasn't possible for no obvious reason. When we ordered our waitress stood there impatiently we weren't quite sure what we wanted so we placed half our order when I asked if I could add a curry to our order I was told that I ordered too much food already if the staff is this unprofessional I dread to think what they allow for cleanliness in the kitchen. Needless to say I will not be eating here again I do not recommend going here to anyone this is a small town with limited restaurants but I won't waste my time or money again read more

The restaurant was not busy and we had excellent service from Everyone We ordered coconut shrimp, pad see ewe, fried rice and the peanut sauce dish. First of all, let me say that their food is good. We have been going here for years for their Orange Chicken and Soups. We were faithful customers during the pandemic and still were. However, last night we went there and my wife ordered the curry at spice level 2. It is a 1-5 scale. When we received it, it was too hot for her to eat. I tried it, and I like spicy food--I found it to be hot as well. We called the waitress over and let them know. They came back and said there really is no way to make it any less spicy--as they don't add spice to level 2--it starts at level 2. Then she told my wife that she shouldn't order curry again and walked away. I feel an appropriate response would have been to offer something else less spicy--or ask my wife is she would like to get something else in place of the curry. Or some other solution other than--"tough luck--that is what you ordered." In the end I shared my orange chicken--which is great--with my wife. I am going to eat the curry later, but still feel this was the wrong thing for the restaurant to do. We have spent a lot of money there over the years and now I don't feel like going back. Bad Aftertaste! Arrived to an empty dining room 5 PM Sunday on a long weekend. I ordered one of that day's specials and my wife (from Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu province) ordered Phở, only to be corrected by the proprietor on her pronunciation. Our orders appeared 20+ minutes later, earning an A in quantity, B minus in appentizing. Having been patient and polite throughout, as well as buying dessert, we did not expect an argument when asking for one more half-pint takeout box, but that's exactly what ensued. We finally did get that 10-cent paper box, along with the silent treatment. All in all, this was a certifiably forgettable dining experience. read more

I stopped by today to get some diner with my wife and a friend. The customer service was really horrible. The elderly lady that was serving us was really rude and disrespectful. I asked her a couple questions about the menu and got irritated and talked back to me in a very disrespectful manner. She also tried to force me to leave a tip. The food was not good neither. Had a late lunch with a friend. It was completely empty but was uniquely decorated (ie. a large Valentine heart next to a statue). I ordered their tofu Pad Thai Gai and my friend ordered one of their curries. I do not like to eat spicy food, but I would recommend getting 2/5 stars for spice. The slight spice will provide a more complex flavor to your dish. My Pad Thai Gai was absolutely amazing. The wide noodles were surprisingly chewy. The strips of ginger and green onion were plentiful. Definitely don't recommend the Pad Thai Gai if you don't like ginger. I tried a taste of my friend's curry, and it was so good that I wished I had ordered their curry instead, but I really loved my dish! Service was quick and friendly. Place was clean. We ordered so much food here. We did it family style and all 3 of us were hungry, so we ordered soup, rice, noodles, etc. Everything was pretty good, not the best but it was good. The prices were a bit high for the area since it is in a small town, but maybe because the cuisine is so rare here that they can up the price. Everything came out warm and clean. We enjoyed our meal. When we got there it was only us and another table. No one else came in, this was around lunch time. Not sure if that says much about how well their restaurant does, but again the flavors were pretty decent. Will be back for sure if I am back in the Silverton area. This is one of 2 thai restaurants in town. Service was very quick and friendly. There was just us so they weren't having to run around too much. The parking is limited to street parking. read more

We stopped in on Friday for a late lunch and we were not disappointed!! It's hard to find a restaurant who offers vegan and gluten-free options in the Salem Keizer area! The server was so helpful in making sure we could modify dishes to be vegan and gluten-free. Came in on weekday for lunch as I was craving soup. Charming little place right in the heart of Silverton. There were only a couple tables occupied but started getting busy within minutes. I ordered the Tom Yum Soup and an order of Beef Pad Thai to go for my friend. My soup didn't take long to come and was delicious! I love that they ask what level of spice I like. Not many places do. It came just like I requested. Was a big helping and I was only able to eat half of it. Took the rest home for dinner. My friend says her Beef Pad Thai was a bit bland. Tonight (3/20/24) I stopped in for dinner and was told they do not seat guests after 8:00pm... website says they are open until 9:00pm. Checked the time on my phone and it was actually 7:55pm. Probably been here 4 times prior to these to occurrences and the service and food were both terrific... these last two times are quite disappointing. read more

Just completed a 6 mile hike. Sandee Thai fit the bill for a hearty post hike lunch . Sandee Thai is in Siverton, Oregon. 16 miles away from Silver Falls State Park (towards PDX). We started withAvocado Rolls. The Rolls were delicious ! The Avocado Rolls had fresh ingredients and was made to order. The rolls were served with 2 sauces that made them taste dramatically different. One sauce was a Cilantro- Lime based vinaigrette the other a warm savory peanut sauce. One of the best Thai food rolls I've had the privilege to enjoy. We had the Drunken Noodles with Squid - Wow! It was delicious with generous portions of Squid . We also had the Mango Curry with Pork. Delicious dish with really good quality fresh Mangoes . We liked the food so much that we bought 3 dishes to go ( aka takeout ) for tonight's dinner : Drunken Noodles with Pork.
