The miso soup was very flavorful and not overpowering. I had the drunken noodles which I feel was the best I've ever had at any Thai restaurant. My grandson loved his pad Thai with tofu. We shared a bottle of Sakc since it was his birthday. The atmosphere is cute. The service was outstanding. One waitress by herself and several people in the restaurant, she was spot on with keeping everyone served, and those who were leaving checked out. I highly recommend THAI yo sushi. Thai Tea was $6.50 and you don't get much Food per person was $25-30 Also as soon as you come into the restaurant it smells like weed. Freshly smoked weed. So I wrote a review the other day about the Massuman curry with beef and about how it usually comes with short rib meat at any place I've ever ordered it which is why I asked several questions about what type of beef it was that they used because it didn't say in the menu and asked that ahead of time and thought that it was a language barrier issue because he kept saying basket meat, even the white girl on the phone at the counter ask the chef herself and she also said basket meat I'm a professional chef for over 30 years. I have no idea what basket meat is but talking with my mother who works with several. Asians says I need to learn how to understand and translate Asian English what he was trying to say was brisket meat and now it all makes sense so in my review, I talked about how bright pink the beef was and how it was really odd like a cured corned beef and that's because that's exactly what it was cured pink brisket, corned beef brisket that they had washed the flavor off of and used because corned beef is cheaper than regular brisket. This is a restaurant that will do anything they can to cut the costs of their dishes and make money wherever they can using inferior products like corned beef that was washed, rinsed, and then used as normal beef. I definitely recommend no one go to this place if they're doing things like this to save the cost of a dollar on brisket by buying cheap cured old corn beef to cut corners. Imagine what they're doing with their seafood and the rest of the food that they serve. This is just an informative message from a professional chef who knows what food is supposed to be like and went bad restaurant owners and chefs cut corners to save a penny like I said I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

The small town of Molalla lacks an abundance of places to eat, unless you want a burger or some bar food (both of which are pretty good in this town) but finding good and tasty Thai food was a welcome surprise! My favorite thing on any Asian menu is salad rolls (fresh rolls, unfried-spring rolls, summer rolls, etc.) and Thai Yo Sushi makes the best for miles around. I've been here a number of times and I can tell you that the stir fries, the sushi, the curries, all washed down with a Thai iced coffee or tea, are delicious in their own right. The service is friendly with a smile, the food arrives quickly, the place is clean and quiet, and the menu comprehensive enough that there's always something for everyone, even those people who say they don't like Thai food. I'm lucky enough to live near enough that I can visit them regularly and get my salad roll fix but even if I had to drive a ways to get their food, I'd do it! Maybe next time, if I can get away from my "regular" order, I'll try a bowl of pho, with shrimp, of course. read more

We recently moved to Molalla and were in the mood for some sushi. We decided we would try Thai Yo Sushi. We ended up having a mix of Thai food and sushi. We went with the Pad Thai with chicken, Spicy Tuna Roll, and the Spider Roll. We were pleasantly surprised by the sushi and the Pad Thai. Both the Spider Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll were prepared really well. Perfect rice for the rolls and fresh tasting fish. The service here was friendly as well. Preface: This is a revision of Zero star review. Summary: They no longer have out of control teenage girls as waitresses. The Sushi rolls are made with precision, and care. The Sushi was very palatable but average, like Safeway; presentation was better than the current state of Safeway's "Sushi Offering". To all the uppity PDX people dissing this place, you might like to know the following: They just had a building burn down around them, and just started getting back on their feet in May, in the middle of COVID, followed by a Level III wildfire evacuation recently. the food here is good. its extremely overpriced for basic Thai food and basic sushi but good. However that's not my issue. The lack of service and inconsistency in hours of operation are awful. Today was the last day of school and sushi is my son's favorite food. I wanted to take him out for a nice lunch as a treat. I saw that they were open and decided to give them a chance since they're the only sushi place in town. all the open lights are on, signs say come in. We go in and right behind us is one of the staff and I hold the door for him, he looks at me and walks by and says nothing. There's a sign that says wait to be seated. We see there's a gentleman at the sushi bar prepping that sees us, and people in the back thru the window. After a few min the sushi guy walks in the back and no one comes backs. Five mins later we're still standing there. I'm on my lunch break and I didn't want to waste my time forcing people into wanting us to be customers. This isn't the first time this has happened and it's awkward. so to sum things up. This place is average taste, way to expensive, inconsistent, and provides terrible service. read more

Holy !! Who would have thought such an amazing sushi/Thai joint would be found in mollala of all places. The food around mollala/Canby/Oregon city is pretty mediocre at best to down right terrible. We moved into area last year (2021) and this place was always closed due to cOvid or holiday break. They just weren't open and we gave up and forgot about it. The kids were with GMA so we had a date night and wife wanted sushi. I didn't want to drive into Portland for good sushi and then we remember this place. The place didn't disappoint. The food was so f'n tasty and the sushi was fire! The spicy tuna, made with I think kimchi hot sauce, was probably the best spicy tuna I've ever had. I've been chasing a great spicy tuna roll since a place I visited in virgina 10 years ago. I've lived all over the country including San Diego. Thai orchard in Vancouver has a good one, but this place serves the best I've had in a decade. We used to mainly just get Thai food here but we recently tried their sushi and it's all I wanna eat anymore. We got 2 cooked rolls, the tempura JB roll and the chicken katsu roll and one raw, the spicy tuna. It was hard to decide which one was my favorite. My wife and I tried the newest restaurant in Molalla tonight, and we really liked it -- we can't wait to come back again once they have the sushi up and running (they said in February). The decor has been completely redone since this was a Chinese restaurant, and I think it's quite tasteful for our rugged little town. I got Beef Yakisoba, which came with vegetables and delicious sauce/broth. The vegetables were obviously quite fresh, as they remained nicely crisp after being stir-fried. I just wish I would have had a spoon to scoop up the last bits of sauce. My wife really enjoyed her Yellow Curry with chicken, and found it quite filling. I'm giving 4 stars for now, as I'd like to try the sushi, but feel it's definitely worth going back again. read more

I ordered a spider roll and on it was supposed to be soft shell crab, asparagus, avocado, and scallions. It has that but also in it was fish eggs and on top was spicy Mayo and eel sauce. When I asked for it to be remade (I was aware that they do not do refunds), she proceeded to tell me that the cook said she would not remake it unless we paid for a new one, even though it was not listed on the menu. Very poor customer service. Update: called again and got yelled at for something that is not stated in the menu. We wanted to return the full order and the cook stated "who will eat the roll then".... don't go here unless you're very specific about what you want. Really rooting for this place to be successful; here in Molalla the restaurant choices are extremely limited. Thai Yo Sushi was opened very recently in the location of a recently closed filthy Chinese food restaurant. We arrived for an early dinner last night (Friday) and were greeted by a sign on the door "No Sushi tonight, sorry". I was disappointed, but we decided to go with the Thai menu instead. Seated immediately we observed that the place has really been cleaned and freshened up, although they still need to tear up that old carpet (hoping that they make some profit so they can afford to replace it soon). We ordered Pad Thai, Yellow Curry & Drunken Noodles. The first dish arrived within 7 minutes of placing our order and the others 3-4 minutes after. Everything was quite tasty and the portions were good sized. If you like Thai food do give this one a try! Im really hoping that this place receives good support from the community because we are really hurting for good ethnic options (or any options) around here. I excited to try the sushi on our next visit. Below are a few suggestions for the management: 1. Train your servers to ask how spicy guests want their food. I ordered my yellow curry at 3 out of 5 and it was perfect, but my husband was not asked about his Drunken Noodles (traditionally very spicy) so it arrived on the mild side. If they don't ask you how spicy, be sure to tell them! 2. Be sure that water glasses are filled regularly, especially if the guests is only drinking water. Eating spicy food with nothing to drink can be unpleasant. 3. Salt & pepper shakers on every table, please. 4. Please hurry up and get a wine & beer license, I love a good cold brew with my sushi! Had an incredible meal here earlier this week! We ordered the fresh roll, rainbow roll & for entrees I had the cashew with shrimp and my husband had the teriyaki chicken. I don't often go out as most restaurants don't make food as good as we make at home, but this place is BOMB! The sushi was so tasty and well made, fresh roll truly had fresh tasting ingredients & our entrees were so yummy and filling! Would recommend this to anyone who likes good sushi or Thai food. Our waitress was also very attentive & food came out quickly. So glad they were able to open back up after the fire last year! Will be returning often! read more

Very tasty! Thought they were gone for good after the fire next door, but they live again! Still a fairly small menu, a combination of Thai and Japanese favorites. No super fancy rolls, just some pretty standard things like dragon, volcano, California, shrimp tempura, etc. comfort food, really. Standard sushi prices for the area. Have not tried the Thai side yet, but I will. Speed is pretty typical for a sushi restaurant, which means it can lean to the slow side when busy, but is pretty speedy on a slow night. I ate here on October 21 and had the worst service from the owner. I ordered a volcano roll & it just wasn't good, the mayo on top tasted as if it was bad and expired. I kindly asked for it to be taken off my bill because why would I pay for food I didn't eat? It was literally disgusting. The owner said she won't take it off & that someone has to pay for it. I understand she made the food herself it was just disgusting and poor customer service and bad attitude. I will never return here. read more

After reading the mixed reviews my husband and I decided to try this restaurant. We are very pleasantly surprised. We love Thai food and this place did not disappoint. We didn't try the sushi but the coconut soup(Tom kha) and pad Thai were wonderful. The fresh rolls with peanut sauce were perfect we'll be back for sure. read more

Ok well we stood for 10 minutes then sat at the "bar" for another 10 minutes and received a glass of water. Two other tables were seated and ordered after our arrival. The person making the sushi refused to make any eye contact so I could order. Other employees seemed to just be rushing around and avoiding seated customers. They offer take out and should probably just stick to that instead of a seated restaurant. More poor service in Molalla. We were so hopeful this was going to a change! read more

And my husband had to get up and asking for napkins, soy sauce, etc. because she barely came to our table. This was the third time we tried it and were disappointed again. Won't be going back. This place is brand new and the wait time reflects this, it took between 40-60 mins to be served from order time. I was able to try several menu items today as I was there for lunch and dinner. I had Tom Kha soup with Chicken, Pad Kee Mao with Beef and a Volcano Roll. My husband had JB Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and the rest of my soup from lunch. Everything was very flavorful and exactly how I expected it. Personally I would like a little more spice so I'll ask next time. I Will definately be back. For the rest of you just plan on having to wait for awhile, they are doing the best they can, it takes time. read more
