It is flavorful and I enjoy the perfectly cooked noodles. My daughter gets the ramen where she can "design her dish". The service is always cheerful. The prices are very reasonable. Lake Oswego Noodle House has a great birthday deal - check out their website! I recommend getting there early on weekends- it gets very busy. Very worthwhile stop on your epicurean adventure!

Much more zing than the classic tonkotsu ramen. Not overwhelmingly spicy and leans a bit more mala so it's a numbing spice more than a hot spice. On bowl is a perfect serving amount with chewy noodles. $16 so not bad, at least compared to SF ramen pricing. Casual vibe. Used to be a taproom I believe. Mirakutei is a beautiful restaurant and has a refined dining area. I wouldn't say it's the most kid-friendly place (not because of the service or anything, it's just more for adults to enjoy a night out), but kids do enjoy it. I find the food here to be of good quality. The skewers I had had a delicious savory flavor and the asparagus rolls were really great. In fact, I'd suggest the vegetarian rolls any day of the week. They are lighter on the palate and I think will surprise people with how good they are. One of the nicest things about Mirakutei is that they offer gluten free ramen noodles. My wife is gluten intolerant and having gluten free noodles is awesome. I gave them a try and I'd say they are 85% of the way to your standard glutinous ramen noodle - which is pretty good I'd say. I'm always impressed when they can get gluten free food close to the original. My kid goes crazy for the unagi here. The unagi is nice and meaty with a good sweet sauce on the top. It's what keeps him coming back for more. I will note that one this most recent visit during lunch he (of his own fault) fell out of the chair and broke the bowl. All the rice and unagi fell to the ground. The staff at Mirakutei were quick to sweep it all up and make him a new one (on them). We found that to be extremely classy and appreciated that greatly. We'll certainly be back here when we next visit the Portland area... my kid will make sure of it.

The restaurant was also pretty full which is always a good sign, but there was no music or ambient sound occurring which was somehow kind of eerie. The family obliged. We started with the gyoza and takoyaki. The gyoza were the best we've had. We had been wanting to try takoyaki for awhile and figured we'd finally give it a try. It was tender and delicious. We also got 3 sushi rolls and loved them all, some of the freshest tasting sushi we've had. The katsu chicken was good, though the rolls and appetizers knocked it out of the park so far by that time we were spending a lot of time the rest of the meal talking about how good they were. The service was fast and friendly. We weren't familiar with Lake Oswego but it's a very nice/upscale area, away from the city. It reminded us of a few cities we have similar to it in the Bay Area. Tada is in my top 3 sushi spots I've ever tried, and the Bay Area (where I'm from) is no slouch when it comes to sushi.
