I went with several friends for lunch and we had to take home leftovers - too good to leave behind! Environment: It was a nice and lovely area. I loved the fish lamps around and there was one area with a tatami setting for a larger party. Staff: there was one person serving that day and she was nice and patient. Food: 1. Takoyaki: piping hot and it was good. It had a good balance between the octopus and the batter. 2. Karaage: it was dark in color but it wasn't that rough or tough. Some parts were overcooked/over fried. The sauce was really good and went well with the meat 3. I ordered a lunch bento with spring rolls, tuna nigiri, and poke. Everything was good and portion was hearty! The downside was that one of the fish in the poke was a bit too fishy (not sure which one since various fish were diced together). The sauce was also not my favorite as it was hard to explain but I wish the sauce was lighter in taste. We liked Tada Sushi so much that we went on a Monday and came back again on a Sunday! As a family, we tried: the teppanyaki steak, lobster roll, sunrise by the lake roll, baked salmon roll, ramen bowl and udon bowl. All were excellent. The steak comes out sizzling and has a side of green beans and rice. Each person gets served yummy miso soup. We haven't been yet but kids eat free on Tuesdays. Made a reservation for Valentine's Day dinner, and the service was great. The host did let us know about the 90 minute time limit due to the holiday, but that was no problem as the food came out quickly. The service was great. Our server was so attentive, and our water was never empty! The space was clean and cute for date night. Started the night off with complimentary miso soup. Our appetizers were both great: the spicy tuna rice cake and baked mussels. I would definitely get the crispy lobster roll again! So yummy & the claws have lobster meat. It was fresh. Okay, here's some insider knowledge - GO DURING HAPPY HOUR 2:30-5pm! The sushi wasn't amazing but during happy hour its a reasonable price and tastes pretty good, and the service was nice and its in a cute area so i think from those few hours ill be going back until I find a sushi spot that really blows me away. I love when other reviewers lead me to a great find! Tada was everything the reviews stated. The food was unique, fresh, well crafted, and there was a good variety which I like. I do recommend a reservation. I did not have one and walked in at 6:45pm on a Saturday evening. The sweet hostess was doing her best to keep up with the packed house but struggled to even give an estimate on seating for about 10 minutes. There is not much standing room to wait without being uncomfortably close to diners or standing outside. It was quite loud inside when packed so if you're looking for a quiet date night spot where you can eat slowly I'd pick somewhere else. read more

Stumbled upon this gem! Was working in the area and came across this lovely establishment. Staff were very friendly and seating was excellent. The inside was very clean and music was excellent. The Salmon Nigiri was my absolute favorite and it was so fresh tasting and perfectly cut. We tried a lot of things off the menu and included pictures. Mango roll, Miso were also very good! The lobster roll was out of this world. Even the simple presentation of the food was amazing. I will be coming back to this place anytime I am near. I recommend you do the same as well. read more

Came here on a rainy day for udon. That was ok but the other dishes were very good. Clearly set up as a nice fancy experience with the design of the place. Service was fine but did feel a little rushed. So the udon noodles were too soft, which is the most important part of the dish. Broth was good. Tempura was good Yakiniku beef was great. This is based on my Tada Experience sushi box, since I placed an order to-go. My order was prepared and available for pickup within the estimated time they provided. I appreciated the packaging of the bag and box. The employee handing off my order ensured the items were secure and the drink would not spill. The ambience inside seemed quite nice and there seemed to be a small patio area with a few tables outside as well. The taste of the sushi tasted very fresh, the edamame and miso soup were good, and the variety of sauces packed with the box were a plus. I ordered the box with the option of the green tea drink and it was refreshing. The only thing that's holding me back from 5 stars is the value. When calculating each time individually, I wasn't able to justify the $69 price tag for the Tada Experience box and the amount of food. read more

That small gesture really stuck with me and showed how thoughtful their service is. I did appreciate the fact the staff read my note on the reservation indicating i was gluten free/dairy free and had gluten free soy sauce ready for me. A hidden gem in Lake Oswego for sushi! The inside of the restaurant is bright, spacious, with lots of seating. Staff is very friendly and service is quick. I came here for lunch one day and ordered a variety of nigiri, handrolls, takoyaki, and a beef donburi. The portion sizes were good. All of the nigiri I had were fresh and nice cuts. We reserved a private room over a month in advance for a small holiday gathering (6 female adults, young kids, and babies) to do our annual White Elephant gift exchange. The food was fine, about what you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant. After about two hours, we received and paid our bill (including tip). About 15 to 20 minutes later, while we were opening gifts, staff repeatedly opened the private room doors without explanation. Only after we asked were we told another party was waiting and that we needed to leave immediately. At no point were we informed of a time limit or a back-to-back reservation. A simple heads up would have allowed us to wrap things up smoothly, especially with children present. Instead, the exit felt rushed and uncomfortable, made worse by the behavior of the incoming party. What made the situation worse was the lack of professionalism during the transition. Members of the waiting party stood at the window staring, mocking, and behaving in a very uncomfortable and immature manner toward a group of women and children. As we exited, one individual aggressively stared us down and slammed the private room doors shut behind us, drawing attention from the entire restaurant. While I won't make direct accusations, the experience left our group feeling extremely uncomfortable and taken aback. The way the situation was handled by staff, combined with the behavior of the incoming party, was disappointing and avoidable. I want to be clear that the issue here wasn't the food. it was communication and professionalism. Better coordination and courtesy would have easily avoided this situation. Unfortunately, this experience overshadowed what was meant to be a warm and joyful holiday gathering, and our group left feeling unsettled. read more

We got the fish over crispy rice starter and some cold house sake. Very hi tech with the hollow glass sake holder having ice in the middle, nice touch. We got Orange Potion and Jack in the Back rolls; both fresh, filling and extremely tasty. To satisfy my rigorous training regimen I also got a chicken karaage bowl. The ambiance is lively so it gave off the vibes of a great spot for celebrations or special occasions. I just wanted some udon soup, but had the whole experience. Gorgeous restaurant! I was greeted and seated immediately upon entering. Went to wash my hands and found the restroom to resemble an art gallery. Even the sink faucet and drain plug were of Japanese artistic design. Once back at the bar (just me - didn't want to tie up a table), I ordered udon soup with shrimp and hot tea. The tea arrived in a clear glass teapot with a handleless ceramic cup. Had sort of a nutty flavor. I was served edamame! Which I love, so that was a bonus I wasn't expecting. When the soup arrived, it had the shrimp on the side. The shrimp was the most tender I've ever enjoyed. The tempura was so light and delicate - amazing! Of course my favorite thing about udon is the noodles and man, there were a bunch in this serving. I'm no skilled hashi user, and picking up udon noodles is a real test of my limited experience. But I love the challenge. lol! The waitress saw my struggles and very quietly said, "Those can be difficult." as she gently rested a fork on my empty edamame bowl. I persisted with the hashi. Fork that fork! The noodles were perfect, the broth flavorful. I was mystified by the spongy-looking rings in the soup, but I ate them anyway. I am very full. What a fantastic meal! read more

We loved our first visit to Tada Sushi! The space is beautifully designed, and the service and staff were lovely and gracious. We ordered the Chicken Karaage, and found it to be some of the best karaage we've had - this was homemade and delicious. Also had the hamachi carpaccio, which was subtle and buttery and excellent. The 2 rolls we tried were both great - Jack in the Back, and Birds Nest, which had a pile of crispy onion strings on top. Delicious! For how expensive this place, for this crazy price, the fish tasted fishy ( not fresh) the rice is soggy with no seasoning. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was covered in so much sauce. You cannot taste the spicy tuna. Even when you took the jalapeño off. Which probably hid the fishy tuna taste. Grocery store, Sushi would taste better than this and at better price.
