Empanadas 2/10
Les M.

Where do i even start? lol We celebrated a gf's bday & brought her a cake that costed $35 to HOLD it in the back. The wait and service was HORRIBLE; waited over 30mins for a MOCKTAIL and even longer for some wings. Kind server but lord was she slow, we'd have to ask for everything we needed at once or we'd have to wait another 30mins for a simple thing. This isn't a place to come enjoy a meal nor even a drink, wine was $25. Pricey but it could've at least tasted good. My sister got the Mexican street salad and it tasted dry as hell, it's more of a bowl tha salad, there wasnt anything that made it a SALAD lol. We were there around 11pm and the lights kept getting brighter for us to leave but checks weren't even brought out yet. Restrooms were very dirty with trash all over the floor; i will not be coming back at alllllllll. The whole experience was 1/10 unfortunately It's all just an aesthetic scenery. Disappointing

The bill restriction is 3 checks to a table. The menu must change frequently because the pictures I saw online were not on the menu. I tried the Amazonian salad with added chicken. The char of the chicken and the fruit added to the well dressed salad tasted great. Portions are small but the healthy veggie options were a salad and a curry. Which meant I ordered a salad, 2 drinks, and then ate later. The drinks were good, I tried the becky and the tumeric margarita. The Becky was my favorite with vodka and lavender. The place is beautiful. Parking is pretty easy, $5 for endless parking in the deck. $15 for valet parking for 2 hours. After two hours the price keeps increasing. I would say this place is for drinks and small bites. You are high up but the view is the beautiful rooftop you are on. The landscape isn't a skyline or cascading trees. It's mostly a parking lot but the lighting, the roof and the breeze are nice. I wouldn't say this place was family friendly. It's for an adult crowd. I'll be back to share stories and try more drinks.

This place is beautiful. The food and drinks just don't match. The menu is awkward and not cohesive. I ordered the empanadas and yucca fries. It was not done correctly. It was very much so giving Sysco, freezer section, put it in the air fryer food. I ordered a lemon drop, but it was made lazily with store bought lemonade. This place is absolute no for me.

My wife sent me an IG video of Overstory, and quickly asked if I could book it for her birthday. Of course I couldn't resist this gorgeous restaurant! When we arrived there was valet out front and we love that when we all know how parking goes. We had reservations so when we arrived we were swept away to a comfortable booth. We visited on a Thursday and we nearly had the place to ourselves! We were near the bar and our waitress for the evening was lovely. The rooftop restaurant features panoramic views, with beautiful furniture, lighting & decor. Unfortunately it was raining the day that we went, so we didn't get to experience the terrace. However, it looked amazing from the windows so I can imagine. We ordered beef tostadas, Ceasar salad with shrimp, and ceviche with mussels. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. I wasn't in the mood for alcohol so I ordered a tropical mocktail. My wife ordered the old fashioned and she enjoyed it. The food was enjoyable; so I'll have to hike back to Duluth and hope the weather cooperates for the views next time.

What a fabulous place! My girlfriends and I wanted to enjoy a night out and opted for Overstory after my bestie heard raving reviews. None of us live in (or near!) Duluth but we thought it worth the trip. Spoiler Alert: It totally was. When we arrived there was valet out front and we love that when we all know how parking goes. We had reservations so when we arrived we were swept away to a table near the terrace. We visited on a Friday before it got too late and the place was buzzing! We were seated steps away from the terrace at a fantastic table and our waitress for the evening was phenomenal. We all started off with cocktails and I went with the Conquistador which is Pisco, passion fruit, and ancho pepper lime. FIRE. For appetizers we opted for the empanadas, the tostada and the yuca. They were alllll delicious! Especially the tostadas. It took a bit to get the cocktails (we got our apps first), but it was super busy and we were chatting through it anyways, lol. For dinner I went with the fried snapper over plantain mash and it did not disappoint. It didn't blow me away like crazyyy (I could have used more *kick*) - but believe me, it was yummy. Seriously a delicious experience from cocktails to entrees. I think the only part of the experience that surprised me here was that they said we couldn't take food outside or order from there. But when we went on the terrace, we saw menus on the tables and empty plates. Confusing. It didn't feel like they were lying to us, I just didn't understand how they let other folks slip outside with their plates lol. We did take our cocktails outside and it was the perfect vibe. The views aren't life-changing but it was a fabulous place to spend some time no matter what! I wish it was closer to me but I can't wait to make some time to return!

I've been having Overstory saved to my places to check out since it opened up & have tried to make reservations before but it has always been booked out. When deciding what to do for my birthday this was the first place that came to mind & there was availability! The rooftop restaurant is beautiful, panoramic view, with beautiful furniture, lighting & decor. We had dinner inside then lounged outside by the water the rest of the evening. It was four of us, I had the fried red snapper which was okay, both my sisters got the Asado which they enjoyed. My mom ordered a short rib meal that was more like pulled beef. Two of us had the Jollof rice with our meal and we both agreed it lacked flavor. Two of them ordered a drink called the Roselle which they both thought was really good. My family ordered a cheesecake for me but it unfortunately never came after waiting for more than 15 mins. Our reservation was at 7pm & our waiter informed us around 7:50 pm that she was going to close out our tab because she had a phone call with her insurance company at 8pm so I'm not sure if her having to leave the floor had anything to do with the cheesecake never coming out. We finally just gave up on waiting and went outside to take pictures and enjoy the rooftop outside space. The restaurant space is beautiful and the inside/outside setting is a really nice place to enjoy without having to go into the city but the food needs some improvement. The taste doesn't match the price unfortunately. I would come back for a date night but probably go somewhere else for dinner then come here to enjoy the outside rooftop space.

I kept on hearing about this rooftop bar and finally had a chance to visit it. It's on top of the Westin Hotel near Gas South Arena. You can either park in Parking Deck 2 or 4 to go there. Parking is not validated, just an FYI. Get into the elevators and go to Floor 9. It's not labeled, but the cleaners there told me. When you go in, it's a beautiful restaurant. I happened to choose the Jazz Brunch which are held on Sundays. I was really hoping to get good pictures of the outside view, but unfortunately, it was too windy and cold that afternoon. Service seems short staff for the amount of guests. Prepare to wait long. Best if you order your drinks and foods at the same time. I had the short ribs. It was just okay. I like that it was a big proportion though. I would go back for the night ambiance with girlfriends, but is it worth going? Not really.

Absolutely loved this spot! It's rare to find a restaurant where everyone loves their meal and drinks. We ordered quite a bit. Our waitress let us know that they have a full bar however, sadly she didn't say that they don't have gin until after I tried to order 2 different drinks. No worries because the pornstar martini became the table favorite. We also enjoyed "Margarita's cousin Maria, "Roselle" and a vodka pineapple. For food we ordered the fried snapper with plantain mash, coconut chicken curry flatbread and Wag burger. My favorite was the snapper but everything was amazing. No complaints. The restaurant is beautiful. There was light music in the restaurant, pretty close to quiet but a party in the restrooms. The rooftop is perfect. Wouldn't change a thing about my experience.

Worth the drive to Duluth! This was freaking amazing and awesome! Pics and videos do not do it justice you have to see for yourself! Any negative review is flawed! Arrived for my self date Black Friday edition and was met with valet then courteous lady at front desk and then off to the 9th floor! Hector Manager on duty ensured my experience was outstanding! The bartenders (mixologists) Nina took GREAT care of me along with Alicia and Curtis! All in all this is a very upscale vibe and experience! Summed up: Bravo Zulu! You have a regular in me!

Tanisha K.

It was such a drive for me but would I do it again. Yes! The setting was so chill, upscale and quiet. No loud music. You could really enjoy your environment with whom you are with. I sat by the bar seating so I had to get up and order. They were quick. No long lines. Very nice people. I only tried the asada and I actually loved the plate and how hot it came out. This place was so nice that if have social anxiety and don't want to be by yourself. You can come here. Look out the balcony , read a book and be relaxed.

An OTP hidden gem. I enjoyed a girls' night with friends. We were able to get added to the waitlist and get a table without reservations, but with good weather, this place will be busier--so I suggest reservations. Overstory is located on the 9th floor of the Westin Hotel. There're parking decks directly across from the hotel with $5 parking. Indoor and outdoor options available for seating. The ambiance is nice. Very elegant and cozy, both inside and outside. I enjoyed a salad with shrimp and a tequila expresso martini. My friends enjoyed the margaritas and the tostadas and empanadas. A couple of drawbacks were the limited food options and it closed at midnight on a Saturday. Cute hangout, I will go back.

Was taken here for a date night during the week on a Thursday. There is valet parking and a parking deck right across that makes for an easy walk upstairs to the rooftop. On first glance, the lighting is gorgeous and outside area with the fire pits is a true vibe! Outside of that, the actual decor is okay. We were immediately seated in a booth out looking the inside area which was great. Our server, although helpful took over 20/25 minutes to come and actually greet us. This was a problem mostly because it was very low traffic when we arrived, maybe 9/10 guests in the entire area indoor and outdoor. Nonetheless, she was very nice and happy to help us get an order in. The drinks we got were great and the small plates we tried were fun twists on classic dishes. Only problem, is it took so long for our server to get back and check on us (40+ minutes). After waving for her, we tried to order more food (our main entree's) and we were informed the kitchen just closed. Now why wouldn't the server come and give a heads up or check and see if we needed anything? Especially since there is no note on menu of kitchen closure times or other way to know + again, it was extremely slow/quiet. Irregardless of the lack luster service, the drinks were strong and delicious. I maybe would come back to get direct bar service but I think some improvements to service would do wonders to justify the price/ambiance. Drinks: 1. Conquistador 10/10: the ancho was smoky versus spicy which was amazing; plus passion fruit is always a win 2. Who Invited Becky 9/10: like a refreshing lemonade! Simple and tasty 3. Inca Trail 8/10: very strong; tasty spice aroma 4. Margaritas Cousin Maria 8/10: love the hint of turmeric Food: * Octopus Anticuchero 9/10: tender octopus and crispy potatoes! A must get from the small plates * Causa Limena 9/10: this dish truly shocked me! Not enough chicken salad for the ratio of it to the potato style ball served with it but seasoned beautifully All in all, maybe I will come back to catch a sunset!

Beautiful establishment, perfect for date night, hanging out with your people or just a nice get away. The drinks was just ok and either the waitress or the bartender was taking a while before drinks came back. The food was just ok to me however that pizza. The best part of the restaurant is the view and decor along with the host. My table party kept growing because we was celebrating my birthday and more couples came up however the host was extremely attentive and patient. I will return and recommend, however i will be there just to relax and enjoy the views with a straight drink on the rocks, that way no one can mess it up of the drinks came be too light

Super appreciative of such technology. Parking was plentiful when we got there and we were able to park right next to the patio and front door. So no worries if you don't get as lucky as we do. The hostess was very pleasant and offered either indoor or outdoor seating. It was a rainy day so we opted for inside to be on the safe side (the patio is covered though, so no worries if that's your preference). Our server Nicholas was super polite and helpful. He explained the menu and abbreviations to my party with suffient detail. The food was cooked to perfection and served at the perfect temperature. As far as the food, there was both lunch and dinner menu options. We ordered a couple of appetizers to share. It wasn't bad, just expected it to be a little bit more dressed up with pico/guac/sour cream/jalapenos and all. We also ordered the ceviche which was served with tostada chips and fresh avo. It was pretty flavorful. As far as the main dishes, I ordered the steak fajita cooked medium. It definitely came out medium well, probably due to it being cut up pretty thinly on a hot skillet. It came served with tortillas, rice and beans. Again, no toppings. My husband liked his carne asada, but it also came out overcooked. He had requested medium rare. Father in law ordered the chicken fajita and loved it. To celebrate his birthday, they gave us a complimentary slice of cheesecake which was a nice gesture. Overall, we had a good experience. Some aspects of the food was underwhelming but nonetheless we enjoyed our lunch.

This dish was one dish my friend and I had low expectations for. Ironically it's the only dish we would go back for! The bucatini I also had low expectations for. I hardly order pasta, from non pasta specialty places, because the pasta is 99% of the time going to be overcooked. BUT this bucatini was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich but not too heavy and just enough to cover the noodles without drowning. The crab taste was pretty faint. If it weren't listed on the menu I wouldn't even think it were in the dish. Cons. The brussel sprout salad was honestly almost inedible. It is a raw shaved brussel sprout salad, dressed as a Caesar salad. Although not bad tasting, the core of the sprouts was not tender but dry and hard. There was also a lot of it. Most disappointing was the "waygu ribeye". The quality was pretty horrible. The piece we got had silver skin as well as chunks of fat. I wish I got a picture of the leftover fat from the steak but if you look at my picture you can clearly see slices of just fat. I love a little fat on a well cooked ribeye and do not mind paying for it. But paying $50 for a probably 8oz "waygu" ribeye with only half of it palatable is wild. Regardless, I'm actually going back in a couple of days with my husband because of those amazing mushrooms.. though as I am writing this review I'm debating on canceling my reservation, ordering the mushrooms to go, and just going elsewhere. lol

Very chill lounge with an intimate feel. I went on a Friday night and there were few patrons. The…read morebar tender made the drinks and hookah, and both were pretty good. They have a few TVs for viewing and had a live belly dancer briefly perform. They didn't have a DJ. It seems like they were playing music from a music playlist, which was a mix of RnB and Hip Hop. Their menu has food, drink, and hookah options. They had nothing on the menu except for Suya; so, we didn't have food. The drinks were pretty good and reasonably priced, given that they were served in plastic cups. The hookah was pretty good and lasted awhile. Of note, the bartender couldn't take cash because she didn't have enough change in the register to return; the only option was card payment.

The sign would advise they open at 5, but doors wouldn't open until nearly an hour later. They would frequently do grocery runs to Walmart then charge you the same amount for items such as wings that were clearly different and finally arrived right before they close the lounge. So you literally had to box them, then pay your bill to close..... With that said, The recent visit I made last week was MUCH better. Decor of this locale is real loungy and sleek. Nice ambiance for a Gwinnett experience...The staff is very pleasant, and the Siracha wings are amazing!!! Presentation was so simple but nice... My friend got another chicken dish, that kinda looked like a Cordon Bleu, and that was quite tasty as well. Drinks are fair, (tiny portions with ice), and the music is good. Mix of African/Reggae/HipHop. In all, I recommend this place if the consistency stays like this....but I had to be honest about my previous experiences.

Burgers on the menu are always a great casual lunch or dinner. The 007 burger is my favorite. The specials rotate regularly so if you want something different that option is available too. This visit they had a mascarpone ravioli with scallops, spinach, sundried tomatoes, and lobster-butter sauce. Outside seating is a winner with umbrellas for the summer and propane burners for winter. This place has a lot of variety for whatever mood you are in.

The service was already terrible when we were told to sit down wherever and then this guy comes out of nowhere and sits us down at a terrible spot, and keeps coming back to asks questions even when we ordered steak he came back to ask what temperature which is very odd because it's normally asked when you order THE steak. Ambiance is okay very simple and bland, could be more vibrant.
